yes, because every character was really japanese looking in the game. OH WAIT, they werent. The japanese complained that Squall from FFVIII looked too american while Rinoa looked too japanese. WE CANT HAVE INTER RACIAL love now can we. Sadly, Square gave way and mademost of their new characters look more japanese in an attempt to not get as much hate mail
