Mercedes Covers all repairs and such for a good portion of the cars life, so it's actually free to fix

Well, for one it is a luxury sedan, if you listen closely, the sound that the door makes when it closes is pretty consistent from one model to another. It is all in the tiny details that makes certain things in life more desirable than others.

It is expensive when something does go bad, if you go through an actual dealership (I remembered getting quoted $2500 for a complete rotor replacement for my car which only realistically costed $600 plus less than 2 hours to replace.)

Would I pick a mercedes benz when I get older? maybe, then again, I prefer performance and precision rather than pure comfort so maybe not, I'd pick a Porsche over a benz. to each his own.

They're a 20th century symbol of class and luxury. And there's some kind of retro styling to a lot of the models that older people like. Probably reminds them of the "good old days."

I like them too, though. They're basically German muscle cars. Enormous, comfy land-yachts with massive V8 engines under the hood. They're loud, fast as a rocket ship, and handle surprisingly well for their weight. If I was rich, I'd love a C63 or AMG GT; they're some of the last truly insane, German-made, big block muscle cars being produced before small turbos and hybrid electrics take over.
