Well I'm looking for a performance truck with a decent market.

I dont think you can beat the modern Lightning there, although probably expensive. The early 90s Lightning and 454 SS both have tremendous market support, but very rare and probably pricey if you find a decent one. Not to mention if u get any Lightning you'll make me super jealous dramallama

I would if I could but I can't. I do have a base budget of <5K. Leaning towards a Jeep Comanche (dirt freakin' cheap, but aftermarket is all geared toward Cherokee engines [same anyway]) or a Dodge Dakota (me likey Dodge).
What you want to do with the truck deems what you need in terms of a truck.
I have a Sunfire from 2002 with 120k miles on it, that hasn't had an oil change since this time last year. It rolls backwards down hills even though it's an automatic.

That isn't good at all. o.o
You do know you are suppose to change the oil every 3-5k miles right?
I think the engine is done for with all that sludge.

I currently have a pickup and I love having one. But I am looking for something with more performance on the "street". I want a truck with an extended cab and short bed configuration.
Raptor for you, then... when they put the bigger engine in for the 2011 model.

Or, you could always go older. (Of course I'd say that.)

A chevy c-10 shortbed, slap a 400bbc in there, and away you go. XD

I should have specified that I am not looking for a 4WD anymore, I also am 19. With that in mind, the ultimate off road truck might not be right for me.

Well if you are looking for an extended cab short bed, alot of F150s have a potential with some older ones coming with 351s, and the later 90s with the 4.6 could be made quicker.. Chevys have lots of 350s as u kno.. since you like Dodges I guess you can find one you like, im not the smartest when it comes to dodge, but I think some come with 360s and therefore could be hopped up. Whatever you choose power to you, as long as you do what you like

That's why I suggested a C-10, not a K-10. C = RWD, K = 4WD.

With Dodge, you'll either be looking at a 360 (meh) or a 440 (yay!). I would really go for the 440 if you want power. Also, you'll commonly find 318's in older trucks, but that's not going to be quite what you're looking for.
Not looking for 4WD in your truck? Please don't tell me you're going to do that whole "mini-trucking" thing where you "drop it like it's hot" and drag your bed on the highway to shower everyone behind you with sparks.
