Kiriana Swift
Elven Princess

In the end, Kiriana went back to her room instead of visiting Alura, her main reason being her state of dress. She wasn't so familiar with Alura that she would enter her room barefoot and still wet from her swim in the lake. Not only that but she had not even met the Vampire Prince, what an impression that would leave! So returning to the room, she opened the door taking pains to be quiet since she did not know whether Constantine was sleeping or not. Her first glance into the room banished all questions "You're awake" she commented though not surprised. Opening the door fully now she stepped inside and moved to her desk and set the book inside one of the drawers. Glancing around the room, she spotted the empty plates and felt a pang of guilt. She hadn't even thought of him when she had been eating "I see you've eaten, that's good" she said with a nod then moved over to the bed "How does your back feel?" she asked the first trace of emotion breaking through her easy facade with concern. She decided that she would help him before she took a shower and got dressed, he was her fiance after all so she didn't feel awkward or embarrassed wearing a white dress that was not only damp but fell barely to her knees. Her hair was in a rather wild state, wavy with a curl to some of the strands that would disappear once her hair dried out.

Constantine smiled at his fiance when she came into the room "yes some of the maids heard of my injuries and cooked me something" his was explaining the event to her, even though it wasn't necessary, and despite the pain he felt, he sound quite cheerful. The question Constantine was waiting to be asked came out quicker then he had thought "I did some pacing around the room, so it hurts a bit" he downplayed the pain so he did not concern Kiriana anymore then she was already. Constantine sat up a bit more, he noticed she was wearing a damp knee length dress, and her hair was different "take a swim?" he asked more to draw the attention off himself, but was honestly curious.

Kiriana raised her eyebrows slightly over his modesty about the pain, she did not know how much he was in but considering the work Kanya had done to him she knew it must be considerable. As for his question she answered calmly, with a hint of a smile "Yes, in the lake" then got up to go to her desk "I know someone in Great Woods who makes lotions that do miracle work on wounds of every sort" she said as she drew a piece of parchment, ink and quill from another drawer "I'm sure she'll have something to quicken the healing process and dull the pain on your back" she continued lightly as she dipped the quill into the ink and wrote out a small letter before rolling it up and sticking it into a small pouch "If I have it sent to Great Wood by bird then I'm sure she'll send it immediately and get here tomorrow" straightening with a smile she remembered that the last time she'd had use of the lotions was in a situation very much like this one.

Leaving the pouch on the desk, she decided that she would send it a little bit later, once she was fully dressed. Moving to the closet she ducked inside to come back out a minute later with a dress for herself and a clean white shirt for him "We're going to need to rewrap and clean your wound" she explained before setting her dress in the bathroom and coming out with his shirt along with some bandages and disinfectants.

Constantine nodded "I hope the lake was fun, I do enjoy swimming as well" he said when she answered his question. The pain in Constantine's back was burning, so when she mentioned a lotion a smile placed it's self on his thin lips "that would be very kind, thank you" he was eager to have something to numb the pain. Constantine watched as Kiriana ducked into the closet, put a dress in the bathroom, then return with one of his favorite white shirts, and some cleaning supplies. To say the least the oracle was not looking forward to having his wounds cleaned, but what has to be done, has to be done. Constantine stood slowly, and carefully removed the shirt he was already wearing, he just noticed how badly it was torn "I guess I will have to throw it out" he didn't mind much he had a couple pairs of the shirt, but he hated wasting clothing. Constantine sat on the bed with his back facing Kiriana "okay, I'm ready when you are."

Nodding Kiriana approached him from behind, nearly as hesitant as he was. Medicine wasn't her most pleasurable subject though she'd been told she would've made a good physician. She hated blood though and any sort of violence so her usual anger towards it would have made being a physician impossible. In these circumstance she didn't feel anger but a lot of sadness came to her face when she witnessed his heavily bandaged back. Thankful that he could not see her expression, she placed the shirt and supplies on the table next to the bed and set to work gently unwrapping the bandages. When she got to the first layer, she had to stop and take a deep breath "This is going to hurt" she said her voice was struggling to remain calm and professional but she managed it. The blood stains on the bandages had gradually grown in number as she'd unwrapped and at the last layer they were a splotchy brown that covered most of his back. 'He bled a lot but at least it's been dry for a while' she thought to herself, preparing for the work that was to come.

When she started to unwrap it she winced at the cracking and sucking sound the bandages made as they came off of the skin and took many of the scabs that had formed with them. Blood pooled once more on his back and Kiriana bit back a cry. There wasn't anything she hated anything more than violence but as always, wounds made her incredibly sad and was about the only thing that could push her so easily to tears. Of course, knowing that the horrible gashes on Constantine's back was mostly because of her didn't help any. As she continued to unwrap his back slowly and trying not to cause him pain, tears steadily broke over her face but she didn't utter a sound and never hesitated in her work. 'Unwrap, dab, unwrap, dab...' her thoughts repeated themselves over and over again as she had to continuously dab the blood from his back to keep it from spilling onto the bed or onto his pants. When his back was fully unwrapped she tried to speak calmly as she had before but couldn't hide the shaking of her voice as sobs threatened to break through her chest. "Ok, I-I'm going to disinfect it now"

Nervousness rose up in Constantine, he hated getting wounded, just because of the knowledge that he would have to have the wounds tended. All the nervousness faded away when the oracle heard the sorrow in Kiriana's voice, he turned around. Constantine couldn't even form words in his mind when he saw his fiance's reaction to his wounds, he gently wiped the tears from her face "it is okay, please don't cry" he soothed. Every tear that fell from her lovely, big, chocolate brown eyes was caught by one of Constantine's thumbs. Holding her face carefully between his hands, Constantine did what he could to try and calm the elven princess down. Never had he seen her in such a state. Kiriana was always so calm and collected around him, other then the once he had offended her by accident and got an angry expression out of her. Constantine almost teared up himself, his weakness was a women in distress, but he promised himself he would not reveal his weakness to anyone other then his sister who already knew. Constantine continued to brush the tears from Kiriana's face, he would get a nurse to late attend to his wounds, as long as she didn't have to.

When Constantine turned and took her face in his hands she didn't do anything. Instead she let herself cry, let herself be vulnerable and even more importantly she let herself be calmed by someone else. Closing her eyes she let out a few cracked sobs as tears continued to slither from under her closed lids. When she finally opened her eyes again, she had been able to get part of herself back though she was still teary eyed. The the flow having stopped though, she shook off Constantine's hands and in a voice that held only a decimal of her usual authority said "Turn back around. Y-you're getting blood on the sheets, your wounds need to be disinfected" she said trying and failing to get some semblance of normality back into her expression but she couldn't break the forlorn grief on her face.

Guilt was the new emotion taking over Constantine "Are you sure you want to disinfect my wounds or should we call a nurse?" he asked gently. It was still very obvious that Kiriana was upset over the blood, and wounds, so Constantine didn't face her to have to see it again. Though the wounded oracle was pleased that she had let him sooth her, at least some what. Constantine was nervous to turn around and allowed Kiriana to face all the blood again, not knowing what would happen. Constantine grabbed a tissue off the small wooden table, and dabbed Kiriana's face softly to removed any wetness his thumbs could not.

Still regaining herself, Kiriana just took a few deep breaths before trying to say anything and closed her hand around his to stop him from touching her teary face with the tissue "I'm fine" she said her voice becoming steadier every time she spoke "Now please turn around" she said calmly and hoped that he could comply. He wouldn't be able to understand what she was feeling right now, feelings that had nothing to do with the wounds, or why she had to continue bandaging him up.

Darkly, she remembered a time not too long ago when Kanya had done the same thing to a less moral man. It had just been a fling of course, nothing serious like always. Just someone she was interested in and found a bit of pleasure in as well. In short, when she had tried to break it off between them the man had intentionally tried to force himself on her and Kanya had leaped into action, tearing up his back with more anger than she'd ever seen in the usually calm but sweet Kanya. That time, Kanya had done much more damage to the man and Kiriana had like this time decided to help nurse him back to health. It had not been her fault of course, Kanya had been seriously protecting her and she was grateful for it but she had to make things right. Her nurse role had ended quite quickly due to an opposite reaction towards Kiriana's weakness against wounds. The man had laughed at her when he saw her distress, asking why she acted so tough when just a little blood would bring her to tears. It was that kind of reaction she'd come to expect from most men and so Constantine's reaction had surprised her to say the least. She had certainly not expected to break down like she had and couldn't blame it completely on the wound either but just the thought of being comforted and not judged was something precious to her as well. While she was truly lost in thoughts, her reflection of the past did not show on her face though she couldn't help but feel somewhat afraid at how much she'd opened up to Constantine. It was surprisingly comfortable and relieving which was probably what scared her the most.

Constantine noticed Kiriana calm down completely, and looked deep in thought. Constantine once again turned his back to the elven girl "okay go for it, but if you feel uncomfortable please stop" he tried. Constantine wasn't sure if she'd listen to him and stop if she felt uncomfortable, but since she showed so much concern for him, Constantine allowed her to continue against his better judgment. Bracing himself for the pain to come, the oracle closed his eye tightly, even though he felt stupid for allowing Kiriana to put herself in such a position again, he felt comfortable around her. Things seemed to be getting better for the pair, they were getting closer, and were slowly growing a bond.

Taking the disinfectant in her hands again, Kiriana braced herself for the sight of the wounds again but did not make a sound. She was in just as much turmoil as before but did not allow herself to cry this time. Using a cloth to gently dab at the wound with the disinfectant she knew that it must hurt. It was a distilled alcohol, heavily distilled in fact but with enough of the alcohol in it to disinfect without an extreme amount of pain. Once she had applied the liquid to all of the wounds, Kiriana grabbed the bandages and rewrapped the wound. Normally she would have applied some sort of lotion or cream to the wounded area after disinfecting it but she didn't have the equipment yet. Tomorrow she would be able to do it properly but this was all she could do right now.

When Constantine was fully wrapped once more in the bandages Kiriana couldn't wait to make her escape. Grabbing the supplies she did not stop to help him put the new shirt on but said a short "I'm going to take a shower" before she shut the bathroom door behind her. Standing against the door for a minute Kiriana fought to catch her breath again. Wounds always had an extreme affect on her and it was times like this that she found it particularly troublesome. Glancing in the mirror she was horrified at what she saw, her face and eyes were red from where she'd been crying and she still looked as distraught as ever. Taking in her terrible condition she then turned roughly away from the mirror and jerked the water in the shower on high. Throwing off her dress she stepped under the heated spray vowing to herself that it would not happen again.

Constantine was not surprised that Kiriana darted away after re-wrapping his wounds. The wounded oracle stood slowly, then carefully slipped on his fresh shirt, which was tighter on his form, it allowed his muscles to be viewed easily. The added pressure on his back hurt, but made his wound feel better all at once. Constantine sat on the bed once again, then pulled out a small leather bound book from the small bedside table. It was a good read, it was his father's traveling journal. Constantine's father gave him the book at the age of 14, and told him to add to it. A half of the book was filled with his father's adventures, the other half was his own.

Still unsure of what to think about the entire bed ordeal, Alura found herself wondering what sleeping would be like. Every time she had slept with someone else, it had always been her brother, but that was a very long time ago. She was grown up now, but she still wondered if she would find herself curled up beside Scott just like she had done with Constantine. At that thought, another blush coated her cheeks. It was an inappropriate thought, but Alura wondered if he'd just lay there or push her off. Perhaps, even, he'd nuzzle into her as well. A small smile worked its way to her face when she thought this, and then, was suddenly aware that Scott had taken his hand from hers as he marched off in the dark room to do something with the dresser. Alura blinked, seeing another dark cloth being pulled over his head and coating his form as he moved over to the window.

Feeling a bit ashamed as Scott pulled the blinds open, Alura went the darkest red she had yet to show. It looked as if she had put two rather large cherries on her cheeks. Suddenly, she felt the need to apologize to him, tell him she was sorry she had made him do such things and run over so that she could close the curtains again. Instead, she stood there, frozen in her spot, both humbled and sad with what he had done for her. She didn't want him to live under a cloak all day. That was ridiculous. Alura gave a small sigh as he spoke of the shower. "I suppose.."
The truth was, Alura didn't know what to do. She wanted to tell him the idea of him hiding under a cloak for her sake was silly, and she'd rather spend her entire life in the dark than cause him one second of discomfort.. but none of this actually made its way out of her mouth. The petite girl hung her head, her feet padding towards the bathroom attached to the sun-soaked room, grabbing a change of clothes along the way.

Once she was past the door of the bathroom, Alura closed it, the silence of the room getting to her. Undressing, Alura stepped into the shower, and as the hot water started to pour down on her, the tiny oracle crouched down into a ball, finding tears mixing with the water of the shower.

She didn't know why she was crying. All she knew was, she had failed Scott again, and Alura had told herself she would never do that. Sobbing freely, Alura waited for a solid five minutes for the tears to stop, and eventually they did, her soft voice cracking as she sniffled a bit, standing up slowly to finish her shower that had started with waterworks of her own.
A few minutes later, and Alura emerged from the bathroom, her hair still semi-wet and put up on top of her head with a single high ponytail, her tiny form covered in a green dress, a pair of white flat-soled dainty shoes on her feet. Alura found Scott easily, her eyes quickly finding him, the only black thing in the entire room. "I'm finished.. and..." Alura bit her lip, "and I'm sorry."

In a slightly better mood now, Tristan shook his head at her question of fun. Truth be told, there were not a lot of things that Tristan considered 'fun', but of course, rescuing people was not among them - nor was straining his muscles so. He liked exercise but, that was pushing it. "Not really, but with title comes responsibility.. and for that I suck it up." He stood then as well, folding his lanky arms over his chest, not bothered by the pain anymore. Grown accustomed to it by now, Tristan simply shrugged it off until he could get back to the castle, by then he'd probably be sore again anyway. He had never really liked horseback, generally as it gave him a sore backside. However, that was the least of his worries at the moment. "Besides, it doesn't matter if it's fun or not if it's something you have to do. I mean, wouldn't you go after your dear friend if he or she was kidnapped?" The thought of Bianca going to fight someone to get her friend back was almost laughable. She might have been good with a dagger, but she was a human, and although they were skilled, they weren't as skilled as the other races. Even their closest cousins - the oracles - looked the same, but they were a higher, more skilled breed of human. Still, he'd like to see what she could do in a sticky situation. Perhaps he'd dedicate an afternoon to teaching her some hand-to-hand combat, if she was promising enough; else, he'd resign her to damsel-in-distress duty.

He had watched with wary crimson eyes as she stood, telling him to wait a second as she went back in to the inn, his keen ears picking up every syllable in the conversation. When he had heard her speaking about the bracelet, Tristan was nearly floored when Bianca had said the lady could keep it. Blinking over at her, Tristan simply stood there, amazed that she had done such a thing. Perhaps it was the same kind of thing as the ribbon, but instead of having someone destroy it for her, she had given it away. Either way, it was strange, and Tristan didn't know what to make of it until Bianca came back out and mounted her horse, glancing at him like she expected him to do the same.
Still stunned, Tristan just nodded and swung himself up onto his horse, glancing at Bianca and smiling before he prodded the horse into a gallop, starting off the long journey home.

» And more than ever, I hope to never fall... «

→Absolutely dreading the day she had ahead of her, Bianca forced a smile back to Tristan as he set off. Kicking her heels into the side of the horse, that smile quickly vanished as she felt the horse beneath her set off after its companion. The pair rode, for the most part, in silence, only the beat of the horses' hooves thudding along and the occasional soft tune from Bianca as she'd find herself idly humming from boredom. Any other time, Bianca would have taken the initiative to challenge Tristan, or whomever, to a race just to kill time. But, considering his condition, Bianca figured he'd probably not be up for that, as riding was already probably putting him in pain; and so, she just went along silently.Hours they rode, only stopping once halfway through when Bianca forced the elf to stop by a river to let the animals have a drink.

Much later, as they neared the castle they now called home, Bianca began to notice just how drained she felt. Not even just tired, but her body aching and seeming completely weak, but she figured it to just be from the exhausting ride. Sure, she'd never had much problem with horseback riding, but, hours on end she was sure would take a good toll on the body, and as such, she looked over to Tristan, wondering how he was holding up if she was feeling this badly. Finally, seeming like an eternity later, Bianca nudged her horse through the gates leading into the grounds of the castle,"Home..." was all she said to Tristan seeing as she was cut off, immediately greeted by maids and servants, all with questioning looks on their faces, obviously wondering where the pair had taken off to, but not daring to ask. And, since Bianca knew they wouldn't ask, she took liberty in not offering them any such detail as they fussed about, readying to tend to the prince and princess and others to take care of the horses the couple had just returned on. Sighing, and realizing that as much as she had missed being able to be comfortable, she hadn't in the least missed all of this commotion constantly, Bianca swung her leg over and slid down to the ground, ready to just get back to their room and clean and change clothes.

However, regardless of what she willed her body to do, she found her backside abruptly meeting with the ground as her knees gave way when her feet hit the ground. "Oww..." Of course, she was immediately surrounded by servants, asking if she was alright and attempting to help her up. Forcing a smile and a little laugh, Bianca waved them off, "Must be from riding so long..." Dismissing it, Bianca made to stand once again, pushing herself up, "Go tend to the prince...I'm fine, really." But as she righted herself once again, Bianca found it was incredibly hard to hold herself that way, the weakness she had been experiencing seeming to take a firm hold on her. Glancing over to Tristan only a second before returning her gaze back to the path she needed to take to get inside, Bianca clenched her teeth and forced herself to take a few steps. What's your problem. If he can manage to move about with everything, you should be fine. Frowning at herself, Bianca realized what was causing her to be like this as her tummy gave the slightest turn. Rolling her eyes, Bianca realized how long she'd gone without anything to eat and the majority of liquid she'd taken in had been in an alcoholic form, and with the stress and everything they'd been under, Bibi surrendered to the fact that she'd been stupid in not keeping her body nourished the way she should have, regardless of whether she felt like it or not.

A bit shaky, Bianca managed to move herself into the castle without any assistance and told the dismissed the maids who were so closely tailing her. Her goal had been to make it at least to her room before giving in, but as she approached the staircase leading to the floor the bedrooms were on, a defeated look swept her face as she attempted to walk up them, but realizing it was a lost effort as her legs seemed to turn to jelly as she . Instead of climbing them, Bianca turned around and sat down on the second step up, elbows on her knees and her face in her hands, hoping that resting a moment would be enough to give her the energy she needed to get the rest of the way to the room and resigning herself to the fact that once she made it their she'd probably better send for something decent to drink and eat.
