"You know, if I wasn't a devout atheist..."

Scott sat back down on the chair he was in before, smiling as he watched Alura eat. He laughed as she asked him if he was hungry, and said, ”Not unless there’s a very rarely cooked steak there. I’m fine.” At first he was confused about Alura’s ignorance about his race, but it soon passed as he realized, Not many people know about us. We are a rather... complex species. And plus, I didn’t know she could predict the future. So we’re even. ”I already went out for a bite last night. I’m fine,” he said jokingly, winking on the word ‘bite’. He regretted saying that joke immediately, a knot of fear gripping his stomach. We need to leave before anyone discovers the bodies... they’ll hold anyone in the village no matter who we are. An all it’ll take is one look at my sword... He glanced down nervously at the long sword strapped to his side and sighed internally. Who would believe me if I told them they were a group of bandits? We already look so suspicious, the Princess of the Oracles and her fiancée wandering through a random town... it wouldn’t take long until someone recognized me. Just play it cool and try to get out as quickly as possible. As soon as she’s done, just leave. Don’t let anyone stop you. He looked back up at Alura, smiling, his face giving no indication of the internal struggle he was having with the morals of killing the four men last night.

Too exhausted to even dream, Tristan had spent the entire night just sleeping away the pain that was surely coming for him in the morning. When morning came, Tristan slept still, until Bianca had leaned over him and spoken to him, even just with the tone above a whisper, it made his body stir from his slumber.
Upon opening his handsome crimson eyes, he had realized the pain that he knew was coming but wanted to avoid. Giving a low, pained groan, the elf prince noticed how bad he was aching, even with the small comforts Bianca had gone out of her way to help him with. The heat had helped to soothe the aches a little, but over all, the pain was just overpowering it all.
He knew he had to get up eventually, and get back to that hellish castle.. but for the moment, Tristan simply wanted to stay in bed, even with how flat the pillows were and how itchy the blanket was. It was nicer than having to be vertical and use his muscles that were aching so fiercely.

Still, the elf prince kept his eyes open, noticing that it was a sunny day. Guess it's better than rain.. Tristan groaned again as he rolled over onto his back, the pain surging through him as he did so, but like the stubborn boy he was, he held in another groan and managed to sit up, his clothes wrinkled and his hair flat on the right side of his head. He was a mess, but he didn't very much care. Raising his hand up to rub his face over, Tristan glanced over at Bianca, his face softening a bit as she told him there was breakfast and a bath. He tried to smirk as best as he could, "five more minutes, mommy."

Let's strategize.

Verena Latchford

Verena yawned and rubbed her eyes then winced when the sun shinned down on her. She jumped out of the bed and ran over to one of the large windows and snapped the curtains shut. Her skin started to throb with pain and irritations. She rubbed her face where it hurt the most out of her whole body. She was glad the rest of her was covered with dark clothes or it would have been a painful day. She bent over and looked under the bed seeing Aiera still sleeping soundly. She ran her fingers through her ponytail and walked out of the room. She didn’t bother changing into a dress like she should have but walked out with pants and a shirt. She walked down the hall wincing with annoyance every time she walked past a window. “Its so sunny,” she snapped. She some how came across the kitchen and walked inside. She decided she would just have to deal with those blood tablets even though she wished she didn’t have to have that fake stuff. She got the attention of one of the maids and asked where the tablets were. She just looked at her confused. “Those are for the royals,” she said and rushed past her. She looked down and realized she probably didn’t give the appearance of a royal. That made her grin with satisfaction, but it then turned into a frown when she had to look for them herself. She searched each cabinet and if she didn’t find what she was looking for she slammed the door shut. When she was near last of the rows of cabinets she found rows of boxes with the white pills inside. She grabbed one then grabbed a wine glass filling it up with the water. She walked into the dining room and sat down on one of the chairs that was the most away from the large windows.

Verena crossed one leg over the other and leaned back in the chair. She dropped the pill in the water so it made a plunking sound. It dissolved and made the water turn into a watery red. She grabbed it and swirled it around with a disgusted face. She took a drink and wanted to cough it up, but she just forced it down. With half of it gone she put it back on the table. That was just awful, she noted to herself and whipped her mouth. She then thought of Scott and wondered what was taking so long. “He better come back soon,” she said to herself. If he didn’t she would most likely go after him. She traced the rims of the wine glass thinking of who her fiancé would look like and act like.

[ ] Silently, Alura watched as her fiance spoke. Her eyes traced over the shape that his lips made as they moved, his voice positively music to her ears. Many people might have said she was naive for seeing only what he was at face value and believing what he had said about never treating her like a possession, but to Alura, she was weighing her last hopes on the idea that he was telling the truth.

The tiny princess smiled as he winked at her, another blush coating her pale cheeks. He had gone out to find blood.. Alura knew that much - and she knew that he had needed blood to stay alive, but when she had been referring to eating, she had been wondering if he needed any of hers, but it seemed, as he said, he was satiated. She gave a soft smile and said nothing more, looking down at the plate of food instead. It looked so delicious, and Alura was quite ready to dig into it. So, the petite girl picked up her fork and ate quickly, eager to get back to the castle and take a nice long shower - and just perhaps, spend a little more time with her fiance.

Within a matter of a few minutes the plate was empty and Alura's stomach was full again. The day just seemed to keep getting better by the minute. She sighed happily, standing up and stretching. "This was.. fun.. but I think we should be getting back home now." She smiled over at Scott, blushing cutely as she held out her hand to him. "Are you ready to go?"

"You know, if I wasn't a devout atheist..."

Scott stood, extending his hand to Alura and taking hers gently. ”Of course I am. Let’s go.” Opening the door, he slowly led her out, nodding at the girl at the front desk and saying, ”Thank you very much. Breakfast was excellent.” The girl smiled and nodded, still clearly terrified of Scott. What is so scary about me? Is it the sword? I hope it’s the sword. He pushed open the front door, scowling at the sun that light up the entire town. Dammit. We’ll have to walk outside of the town. This is going to be unpleasant. Leaning over to Alura, he whispered in her ear, ”We’ll have to walk a little out of town before you get on my back. It would look suspicious otherwise.” Smiling at her, he stood up, slowing down his pace so that they were walking next to each other. He tried not to let the pain show on his face as the sun seared his skin, beating down on him. He tilted his head down, keeping his gaze focused on the ground in front of him. Just keep walking. You’ll be at the castle in no time. Just focus. Biting his lip, he quickened his pace a little without noticing, passing the town gates as he did so. Glancing over his shoulder to make sure they were far enough away, Scott kneeled down, letting Alura get on his back again. Her skin seemed cold against his as the sun scorched his, leaving it warm to the touch. He set off quickly, flying along the road and hoping that no one would pass them. He pushed forward, the castle suddenly looming over the horizon. The sight of it invigorated him, and he made the last push even faster, arriving at the front door in a small amount of time. He flung open the front door, his arm screaming in protest, and rushed into the dark corridor, closing the door quickly behind him. He let out a sigh of relief, his skin cooling off immediately, the sun still leaving it tender and sore. He let Alura down and leaned against the wall, catching his breath for a moment. I need to start wearing a cloak or something... he thought, wondering how Verena was dealing with the sun.

[ ] If it hadn't been for the warm sun beating down on the land that morning, Alura would have been happy to walk all the way back to the castle, her hand dreamily in Scott's. She lingered on the idea for a moment before he took her hand, leading her around and out of the Inn, and she gave a nod of thanks to the woman behind the desk who seemed to be completely terrified of Scott. She frowned at this and looked back at Scott, who, in her opinion, was the most gentle looking person she had ever laid her eyes on. Dismissing the thought, Alura held her head up high as she and Scott walked some way, knowing how it'd seem odd if she were just to mount him like a steed in the middle of the town. Finding this thought amusing, Alura entertained it for a few moments, holding back a giggle as she smiled over at Scott, but he seemed distracted, by something on the ground, no less. Quickly, she dismissed that thought, instead coming to a halt on the outskirts of the forest. He knelt down again, not saying a word. Alura blinked softly, staring at his form before she climbed on, taking her previous position on his back, her frail, stickly legs wrapped around his waist, her thin arms encompassing his shoulders, her head happily nuzzled against the crook of his neck. She took in his smell again, noticing just as they set off that his skin was unusually warm, almost how a forehead felt if the person was suffering from a fever. A bit worried, Alura stayed silent, quite aware that there was nothing she could do until they got back to the castle.

The time seemed to pass quickly as Scott ran them to the castle, and they arrived there, it seemed, shortly after they had set off. Hurriedly, he set her down, apparently very glad to be in the shadow of the castle's halls. She watched, confused as to why he had been so quick in getting into the shadow.
Now, Alura was no stupid girl, but she was.. a bit undereducated when it came to the other races. She had been schooled only about her own country, so she hadn't thought to think that it was the sun irritating her fiance.

Tilting her pretty little head at Scott, Alura's eerie eyes scanned over him. He looked like he was in some kind of pain, which made Alura's heart jump right up into her throat again. "What's the matter?" the way she said it made her sound like an inquisitive child, her eyes worried as she took a step forward. Was he in need of blood again? Alura was almost pressed to tears again, remembering the look on his face as he had refused to take her blood.

"You know, if I wasn't a devout atheist..."

Scott looked down at Alura, puzzled at her question. Does... she really not know? ”The, uhh...” Scott blinked a few times, confused by why she would ask that. Does she want to know specifically why I’m in pain? Why the sun hurts? Or does she just... not know? ”The sun,” he muttered, blinking a few more times in confusion. ”My skin, is... sensitive. To the sun. It kinda hurts.” He poked his arm, wincing in pain as he did so. ”Leaves it a little tender. Especially after being exposed for that long.” Realizing how worried she looked, he smiled quickly, saying, ”But don’t worry, I’ll be fine. A little time in the dark and I’ll be good as new.” He stood up straight, taking his weight off the wall, and took her hand gently in his, walking down the hall, doing his best to avoid windows. ”We should find our siblings before they send someone after us.” Although Verena probably already knows I’m here... I didn’t exactly make a quiet entry. He looked down at Alura and smiled. ”Any idea where your brother might be?”

[ ] Well, now that made perfect sense. Alura clapped a hand over her mouth as Scott mentioned the sun and being in pain, obviously hurting, as he had mentioned. Gasping lightly, Alura felt the urge to shove him into the nearest completely dark space until he felt well enough to come out and his skin had stopped hurting. Alura couldn't imagine how it would hurt. She supposed it would feel like a very bad sun burn - and even she herself, who was quite pale, wasn't quite the shade that Scott was. Most times when she had been outside, she had been forced to carry a parasol to shield her own fair skin from the sun, but Scott had had nothing of the sort, and the sun that felt so warming to her was putting Scott through pain. Alura frowned under her hand as he mentioned he'd be fine, and Alura lowered her hand from her mouth, feeling a bit stupid for asking. It had shown just how little she knew about him and his race, but, she supposed that was the only way she'd ever find out.
She'd be willing to risk looking stupid to find out all these things about Scott, so she'd know how to handle these things. For now, Alura figured there was nothing she could do for him until he felt better. She was barely big enough to cast a shadow that came up to his mid-waist, so that would be no help.
Instead, she just walked in the sunlight along with him as he took her hand again, wondering how it would work. Her imaginary cottage in the meadow with all it's sunshine couldn't house a vampire now could it? She sighed a bit as she let that dream crumble and fall into oblivion. She supposed it was just as well. Alura wasn't able to have children anyway..

Mood a bit dampened by those thoughts, Alura raised her head to look at Scott as he mentioned their siblings. She gave a soft nod. "We should, indeed." Then, he asked about her brother. "Hm?" Alura frowned a little, "oh," the petite girl shook her head slowly, "I don't know where he is.."

"You know, if I wasn't a devout atheist..."

She seems sad... he wondered, looking down at her worriedly. How can me hurting in the sun make her depressed? Unless... He frowned, looking out the window so Alura couldn’t see his face. ...She didn’t know. She was hoping for something more. Dammit... His heart fell as he realized how badly he must have disappointed her. I hate this stupid curse. I hate drinking blood. I hate the sun. Why can’t I just be... normal. The world rung in his head as it had so many times before. The odd looks he got, the pain he got during the day, the taste of blood as it ran down his throat. He hated it all. I don’t understand how Verena can put up with it so well. She’s so much stronger than I am. ”...well, if you don’t know where he is, I guess we could stop by and see my sister first. She’ll be happy to see that you’re okay.” He looked back down at Alura, smiling as he tried to fight past the crushing depression that clawed at his insides. Sniffing the air slightly, he picked up the sickly-sweet smell most vampires carried, tracking down his sister. He’d look down at Alura occasionally as they walked, smiling when he caught her eye, his heart breaking as she smiled back. I can never be what she wants. She’s been nothing but amazing to me and this is what I give her in return. Approaching a door that reeked of her smell, Scott went to knock before pausing. Wait... is that...? No, that’s impossible. I’m just imagining thing. He knocked softly, not wanting to wake her up if she were still asleep.

"...I'd be convinced that God hated me."

[ ] Alura could tell by the way that Scott looked at her, that he knew something was bothering her. She noticed the frown set deep on his face, her own heart sinking as if she had been the cause of all of it. Was he disappointed in her for being so frail and naive? Had he seen her as stupid or.. Alura's mind flooded with possibilities, each one weighing them down as they walked in silence. It seemed that the both of them were so troubled that not even a word could escape their mouths; at least, that was until Scott mentioned his sister. "I should probably apologize for worrying her.."
Like a slate that had just been cleaned with an eraser, Alura nodded, her thoughts wiping away quickly for a time where she could sit by herself and think about them - though it lead her to think of their future almost immediately. His sister.. she was a vampire too.. how was their marriage supposed to work? Alura came from a world of sun and water, while Scott came from darkness and a world of what seemed like, blood. She sighed, wondering who his sister had been paired with. She had seen her and her own brother getting along nicely, but even then, that match would never work..just as Scott and herself were seemingly destined to fail.

Looking up at him, Alura let her eyes linger on his handsome face, nearly bursting into tears at the thought. She had wanted so badly to see it work out for them, just like in a book, but Alura knew it was asking far too much for that.. still, she hoped fearlessly that it would be everything she had wished for. Her eyes scanned over Scott's face, watching him as he smiled at her, her heart sinking even further. She said nothing as they came to a stop in front of a door, instead wiping the thoughts from her mind again, putting on a smile as she waited for the door to open.

Verena Latchford

Verena smiled as she smelt her brother in the castle. She grabbed her wine glass off the table and walked out of the dining room swishing the red water around in the glass as she walked. She walked towards Scott’s smell trying to avoid the sun as much as she could. She then found him in front of her room. When she saw Alura beside him she grinned seeing she was alright.

“I’m so glad to see your both alright,” she said walking up behind them. She then looked at Scott. “I’ve been hearing a lot of gossip going around about you. I’m interested to hear what happened,” she said with a smile. She was relived to see he was well and he didn’t have any wounds she could see, but she wished she was there with him. She looked at her door and hoped he had not awakened Aiera but then again he should be waking up by now. Then again I don’t think I want him to wake up, she thought sourly to herself.

She took a sip of the fake blood and the look of disgust was clear on her face. When she pulled the glass down she looked down at the glass seeing there was still a little left, but she couldn’t bring herself to drink it. Verena wished she could have gone hunting last night and got fresh blood instead of the tablets. She looked back at her brother and waited for him to answer.

"You know, if I wasn't a devout atheist..."

Scott smiled sheepishly, looking at the glass of fake blood she held. Augh. That wretched concoction. I can’t blame her for not finishing it. ”It’s... a long story.” He looked down at Alura, not really certain on how it even began. ”Mind if we come in?” he said, peeking past Verena. The room seemed empty, so he walked in, leading Alura behind him. He sniffed the air, a familiar smell penetrating his nostrils, but he shook his head, waving the thought away. There’s no way he could be here. Not alive, anyways. There’s no way he could spend the night in a room with Verena and live to tell the tale. Turning to face Verena, he hesitated, trying to find the right words. ”Well... as you know, someone kidnapped Alura.” I have no idea who, but they’re dead when I get my hands on them. Trying to push down the dark thoughts back into the corners of his mind, he continued saying, ”He took her to a castle near the border of the Great Wood. Tristan and Bianca – that’s the prince of the Elves and the princess of the Humans – they came along to help rescue her. We got her out rather late last night, spent the night at an Inn in a town nearby, and came home this morning.” He, of course, left out the part about slaughtering three men and gorging himself on their blood, but he was sure Verena would know. His sword reeked of blood, as did his dagger. I should have dropped them off before coming here... dammit. He chastised himself silently, trying to keep a calm composure as he looked down at Alura. ”Did I miss anything?”

[ ] A bit shocked as Scott's sister appeared, practically out of nowhere behind them, Alura held back a surprised peep, her meek little figure looking quite plain beside the two of them. They were both - as she had been taught - very beautiful creatures. She had felt that before, the first time she had met his sister, and it hadn't gone away any. Shifting around to face her, Alura looked to Scott momentarily as Verena said something about gossip. A bit afraid of what rumors were going around about her and Scott already, Alura blushed a faint shade of pink, marveling at how much her cheeks were getting a work out already, and it wasn't even close to noon. She stayed quiet as Scott began to explain, the fact that Tristan and Bianca had come on the trip as well news to her. She hadn't seen Tristan or Bianca, and she made a mental note to thank them both later. She certainly had caused quite a stir already. At that thought, a darker color of pink crossed her pale cheeks, and she stared at Scott as he asked her if there was anything he had missed.

Alura stalled for a moment, her eyes flitting around his face before she shook her head, her soft curly hair swaying from side-to-side. "I think that's it." She then forced a smile and looked to Verena, taking her hand out of Scott's for just a moment before she gave Verena the biggest curtsy she could have managed, her long hair almost grazing the floor. "I apologize sincerely for any worry or trouble this might have caused you.." The way she had said it, Alura had sounded like she was indeed a very well taught princess, her tone truly sincere and mature for her size and age. "I beg your forgiveness." Pulling herself up out of the curtsy, Alura gave another small smile, hoping that Verena hadn't caused herself to worry all too much.

Verena just couldn’t help but smile at Alura who kept blushing it made her look so alive. Verena almost yanked her brother out of the room but it was too late, he already invited himself in. She walked in the room as well and started to look over at the bed were Aiera was sleeping underneath. She tapped the wine glass nervously as she listened to her brother talk trying not to look over at the bed to much. but Aiera just had to pick the worst place to fall asleep. It would be so awkward and hard to explain if he just crawled out from underneath. She could smell old blood that was near Scotts hilt it was a mixture of different blood types making her wonder what he did after he rescued Alura. She gave him the look making sure he knew she was on to him and that she was going to ask him about it later. When Alura started to apologize Verena was shocked and didn’t know what to say. “Its fine. I’m just glad you safe back here,” she with a chuckle. Alura and Scott seemed do perfect together and she was so pleased that they were getting together so well. She walked over to a small table and put the wine glass on it. She looked over at them both and wanted for them to get out of the room before Aiera decided to get up. “Have you told your brother yet? I could help you find him,” she asked Alura. Verena just had to find a scent that was close to Aluras and that would lead her right to her brother.

[ ] Trying not to frown at Verena laughing at her, Alura traced her gaze from herself to Scott and back again, soon after asking if Alura had told Constantine about it. The petite girl shook her head. "I don't want to worry him any more than necessary..." She gave a soft sigh. "I didn't think he'd notice I was gone, to be honest." Alura's shoulders picked up in a shrug, but when she spoke of finding him, Alura blushed again, not wanting to put Verena through any kind of trouble. "I don't want to trouble you," the oracle started, her eyes wide with a kind of anticipation of sorts. It seemed like Verena would insist on helping to find Constantine, but Alura wasn't very much in the mood for talking to her brother, and having to apologize again.. along with listening to the lecture he'd probably give her on worrying others or some such like that.
Reattaching her hand to Scott's, Alura clung to him like a bee stuck in honey, wanting just to perhaps have a shower and change her clothes and spend some more time in that little bliss-filled niche she had created with him. "I should probably bathe first, anyways.." She voiced, her mind lingering on the dress that she was still wearing. She had no clue of what had happened to her dress that she was wearing before she was changed by the perverted fat man who had wanted to keep her. The feeling of not knowing what obscenities had happened during the time she was passed out scared her and gave her the feeling of having to scrub every inch of her tiny body.
Looking from Verena to Scott and back again, Alura gave a faint smile. "Perhaps after that.."
