Verena Latchford

User Image
Verena looked at Constantine with a affectionate smile when he squeezed her hand. Somehow, it had helped her. She gave a gently squeeze back and kept a hold of his hand. Her eyes went back to the window then she tore away from it and looked around. She wanted to talk but she was too nervous to even dare make words. She looked at all the servants rushing to get things done so that the when the princess and princes have returned, lunch would be ready. Verena wouldn’t need to eat but when a plate of food was being zoomed past her it looked to be very good. She remembered how she would have to serve guests at the castle, and that she would help cook in the kitchen that was never used. Cooking was not something she would want to do ever do again for she burnt everything she touched, but she loved helping. Verena wanted to help right there and then but she knew it would be looked down upon so she stayed glued to her chair. “The food looks to be very good. I bet you’ll enjoy it,” she said with smile. She would get her meal later tonight.

Kiriana Swift
Elven Princess

While Kiriana reluctantly socialized with Kanya trailing behind her faithfully she had no time to think of what the other princess' and princes may be doing. Instead she chose to focus on the task of paying attention and remembering each noble she came into contact with. Heaven forbid she even forget one of their names or the whole world would come crashing down. Metaphorically, at least. Increasingly tired with this game of charades, the corrupt and over dramatic noblewomen gossiped merely with another. Telling each other all of the new dirt on all the royals. 'This is why I can't forget a thing' she thought to herself wearily. She hated when people talked about her, it was one of the worst types of dishonesty so she made an effort not to attract it as much as possible.

When Constantine and Verena reappeared in the room, Kiri was on the other end of the hall and far out of sight from them but it didn't take her long to hear them. Or hear about them at least. The gossip came in a great wave as the women scrambled to relay what the other women had been told. Apparently they'd come in wrapped in a long embrace and were now sitting at the table feeding each other appetizers without any modesty. Rolling her eyes slightly she made her way up to the table while tongues wagged around her. As she caught sight of them she shook her head slightly at the disgust of rumors. Yes, they were obviously together due to the fact they were indiscreetly holding hands. No, they were not feeding each other. 'There isn't even food in front of them' she mused 'How the hell did that come about?'. And they had no immediate signs of kissing though her keen eyes could detect a subtle puffiness of Verena's lips that made her guess they had been kissing but not very recently. 'It's nothing some gossip-mongering noble would be able to see'.

Gliding over to sit once more, she took her chair from before and was disappointed to find that her tea had long since cooled. Luckily for her, a man came only a few seconds later to question if she wanted anything and she politely ordered another tea though she asked for Chamomile this time. Once the order was put threw she glanced around for Kanya who had recently disappeared and spotted her coming out of the crowd to jump in her lap once more "Well, my pretty just where did you run off too?" she asked in an undertone as she obligingly scratched under Kanya's uplifted head and received no answer from the blissful creature.

Every breath could be your last.

Constantine's smiled widened when he felt Verena squeezed his hand back, he watched her for the most part, but he had noted the servants rushing around, he saw the food then nodded to Verena's comment "I does look quite good" he agreed quietly. Constantine knew that she wouldn't be eating any of the food, and now wished that she had taken some of his blood eariler to help her. When Kiriana sat beside them he showed her a friendly smile, "How are you princess?" he asked just as he started to stroke Verena's hand with his thumnb.

So enjoy them all to the maximum.

Kiriana Swift
Elven Princess

"How Are You Princess?", for a moment, Kiriana's mind did not register that she was being spoken to but thought that it was to Verena but when no answer was given her head turned in simple surprise soon covered with a polite smile "I'm doing fine, thank you" she said simply but the annoyance of the other nobles was still strong in her eyes and her smile had a somewhat sarcastic turn to it that did not fit her earlier facade. She was seriously tired now and couldn't believe this event was taking so long to finish with but could only figure that it was because of the vampire prince's absence. She wondered briefly what they would do if he continued to not show and hoped that they would simply go on with the show and leave it for later.

"How is yourself and Princess Verena" she asked in return immediately to the both of them after her response though her mind was busy elsewhere and it was an automatic reaction. Seeing their continued display of affection she wondered if she should warn them of the talk that was circulating the room. They were not yet proclaimed to be fiances if they even were so to be honest she thought it somewhat indecent. Either way, rumors were nasty things and it could ruin one's image in only one event and from what she'd heard herself it was quickly escalating dangerously for them. An affair getting out to the public was damaging of course but an affair when the two were betrothed to others was indescribably worse and years in the council and castle life had taught her this quickly. Somewhere between these thoughts, a man came with her chamomile tea and continuing her reflexive rituals took it and thanked him though there was none of the warmth she usually added to it since her mind was elsewhere.

Perking an eyebrow at Bianca, Tristan's ears flicked a bit before he smiled again, nodding curtly. "It's a dirty job but someone's gotta do it." He propped his hand on his hips and smirked devilishly in her direction, his gleaming crimson eyes scanning her pale, plain face. "As a prince I expect the best, especially from the women I kiss.. and if they're not up to my standard, I take it on myself to teach them." Tracking the pink-haired princess as she stepped towards him, taking the hand he had held out to her.
He rolled his eyes a bit at her last statement and huffed out an unimpressed breath. "I did nothing of the sort. I was just telling you my opinion, and my sado-masochism has nothing to do with it." His handsome face fixed itself back into a smirk that gleamed with at least a thousand watts, "unless you want it to, that is.."

Happily, Tristan's ears flicked about and he took a struggling step forward; he wasn't going to lie, the newly formed battle wound had him hurting a fair bit. Of course, if it had been any other person who had hurt him, Tristan would have had them on their knees begging forgiveness within a matter of seconds, but it was Bianca - and for one, she was a woman, and two, well, quite frankly he probably deserved it. So, instead, Tristan let the issue slide and walked on it, and he pretended like it wasn't hurting him, for nothing more than his pride.
Step after step he took, Tristan's leg pained him, but he kept going, instead focusing back on Bianca and the sound of her voice. Tristan chuckled at her, now walking at a normal pace along the hall, her hand in his, happily situated there. "Are you calling me cheap and/or tacky?"

Verena Latchford

Verena was listening to all the gossip going around the room. She frowned but was used to it after all; she heard almost everything. Verena had to hide her mouth with her hand as she could feel a laugh about to escape her lips. Gossip was such a nuisance sometimes but other times it was just so amusing. She knew that the gossip would pass over time if she played her cards right. She looked at the princess that just addressed her with smile. “I’m good. What about yourself?” Verena didn’t pull away from Constantine’s grip even though she knew the problems that might follow it, but over time she didn’t care as much. She then thought of her parents and frowned. The only thing she could do was to hope they would not care and understand her situation. She looked at the princess again and tired to remember her name she thought about it then it clicked it was Kiriana.

Constantine's deep sapphire eyes travelled around the room, noting that a lot of the servants were staring his way, he knew it was because of Verena and his episode back in the music room. His eyes narrowed out into a deathly glare, once he met the eyes of the people watching him, one by one, they hastly looked else where. After being sure that everyone had stop staring, he turned his attention to Kiriana "I am also well, thank you" he answered, he had already asked how she was feeling, so he didn't show much interest when Verena asked.

So enjoy them all to the maximum.

» And more than ever, I hope to never fall... «

→The princess noticed the effort it took for Tristan to take those first few steps, as the wound she had inflicted was obviously taking effect nicely. Moving slowly alongside him, Bianca said nothing, acknowledged the fact that he was in pain in no way what-so-ever. She had almost let herself feel sorry for him, for only a split second until she mentally slapped herself upside the head, reminding why he had gotten it in the first place. It seemed the elf didn't really want sympathy for it too much anyway, as she saw him forcing himself to walk on it as normally as possible; he obviously was too proud to want anyone to know he'd been hurt in such a way.... or more-so probably didn't want questions as to why it had happened in the first place. Even so, through his laugh and words and act, Bianca could still see it pained him, but as he spoke, she pushed it away, it was of his own fault anyway.

Thinking to his question, Bibi just laughed, looking over to him with a grin. "And if I am, what of it?" A look fixed itself on her face, as if playfully challenging the boy to make something out of her words. At that, Bianca would have pushed the boy, except she found her hand still snug in Tristan's own, and quite felt no need to pull it away. As such, she simply made her walk move a bit closer to the boy, bumping her shoulder into his arm, knocking him to the side just a bit. Still staring up to him, Bianca shrugged, just adding a "Hmmm?" as an emphasis. Straightening her line out again, Bianca directed her eyes back to where she was going, and noticed they were, quicker than she would have liked, approaching the doors leading back to that dreaded room where they'd soon have their fate handed to them. Frowning at it, Bianca stopped just at the entrance, not bothering to go in just yet, but staring at the doors as if they were her death sentence.

About to speak, Tristan opened his mouth to reply, but was suddenly shoved into by Bianca's shoulder. Stumbling a bit to the side as he was bumped, Tristan nearly gave a whine of pain as he was forced to teeter to the side due to Bianca's messing around; the place where she had speared him with her heeled boot surging with pain. Never, had he endured a wound so.. trivially earned or annoying. Sure, Tristan had his fair share of wounds, given he was a prince and he was often called into battle, given his skills - however, this was different. It seemed she had hit a spot that he used frequently, to his annoyance. It still hurt, and was probably swelling up and bruising nicely, though, instead of complaining and expressing the pain, Tristan simply looked over at Bianca, grimacing through another smile as he took his spot again. "If you were indeed, calling me tacky and cheap, you'd be tacky and cheap as well." Sighing lightly, the elf prince gave a lackluster huff of disapproval. "My father says 'you are who you associate with'. Sadly, he's right more often than not.. and in this case he's quite right." Then, the smirk righted itself on his lips and Tristan dredged forward, walking at normal pace again, his crimson eyes delighted to see the large double doors of the common room just ahead down the hall. Glancing back at Bianca, Tristan gave her a devilish little wink. "So now that we have established we're actually both quite tacky and cheap, how about that closet?"
He smirked again. "I suppose, after lunch will have to do." By then they had reached the doors and Tristan stopped, glad to cease movement simply for a few seconds as he removed his hand from Bianca's, opening the door for her, delighted to smell the aroma of lunch again. "After you, my Lady."

→Bianca just stared at the elven prince as he went on about the closet, the look on her face quite detailing how ridiculous she thought his words were. "Oh, well now that you put it that way, of course......... not." With a roll of her eyes, but oddly enough a little grin to accompany it, Bianca entered through the doors that Tristan now held open for her, waiting until he did so and they closed behind the pair once more before speaking again. As she stood next to the prince, Bibi looked around the familiar room; it seemed two of the others had made their way back as well. Still no Rayne though. Glancing from person to person briefly, Bianca thought back to the elf at her side and the hurt look on his face and poorly hidden whine of pain when she had bumped him. "However," she said quietly, looking sideways up to Tristan, "I will fetch some ice for that after lunch, if you wish." Gesturing slightly to the boy's hurt leg, by fetch, Bianca of course meant she'd have a maid bring some to the room, not that she'd actually go after it herself, but it was still an action of kindness, and somewhat of her version of an apology for hurting him so badly, to offer to take care of it a bit. "Or if you don't, I'll, of course, leave you to tend to it yourself." Grinning, Bianca wrapped her arm through Tristan's for the short walk to the table, letting it go again as the approached. Nodding to the others, Bianca took her seat and immediately waved a servant over for a glass of wine.

Walking painfully over to the table, Tristan smirked at Bianca, again, attempting to hide his pain. It was pitiful, really, but Tristan didn't care at that point in time. Instead, his mind was on other things.. like the care Bianca had offered him. "I'd very much like that.. but on one condition. You have to kiss it better." He smirked again, leaning over her as he pushed her chair in for her before sitting down in the same uncomfortable chair as last time. Lovely.. this is going to be a long lunch.. Tristan frowned in his mind, but kept a well-placed smile on his face. Then, he took the time to look around the room. So it seemed some of the others had come back as well.. but Alura and the two other missing princes were nowhere to be seen. Tristan let a frown slip onto his face briefly before he flicked it away and turned to a servant as well.
She came over hurriedly, oddly enough it was the same one he had given his order to last time. "I'll have another glass of that rum, please. Oh, and when will we be eating? I'm afraid I'm famished." He gave her a charming smile.
The servant girl blushed and nodded. "Lunch will be served in a few minutes, Sire. I'm afraid the Mistress of the house would like to speak to you all before you sup."
"Alright, thank you." Tristan surrendered another handsome smile and waited as she left, coming back a few moments later with his glass full of the same aromatic rum as before. Tristan smiled and acknowledged her while taking the glass, sending her off with a glance to say she was excused before he turned back to Bianca. "So, who do you think will have you as his bride?"

Kiriana Swift
Elven Princess

"I am well, Princess Verena" she said with a false smile then Kiriana spotted Constantine's effort to stop the gossip and could have smirked at the attempt. Not in contempt for him of course but just because she knew the harsh reality of noble gossip. 'He can glare at them all he likes but as soon as he diverts his attention it will return stronger than before' she thought as she noticed nobles were staring almost immediately after he looked away and her sharp hearing told her that they had never even halted in the conversation. Yes, glaring only added fuel to the fire because it sprouted dislike from the nobles. She could hear it now "Oh my, that young prince just glared at me. So unkind really. I wonder if he treats the princess that way?" now there were going to be stories of abuse. Great, just what they needed.
"It is best to ignore things that bother you Prince Constantine. I have found that trying to fix problems can sometimes make them worse" she said warning him out of kindness because she could see how they both disliked it and he did not seem to know how to handle it.

→Now that she was seated and still once again, Bianca found herself quite tired, and let a tiny yawn escape as she took in Tristan's words. The servant she had spoken with only a moment ago had returned to her side with a glass filled with a deep burgundy colored wine as Tristan called for someone to fetch him some rum as well. Not bothering to take the glass, Bianca allowed it to be placed on the table in front of her and then with a flick of her wrist, waved the servant away once more.

Taking the glass in her hand, Bibi took a small sip and then looked over to Tristan as he finished up with the servant girl and began speaking to Bianca. Backtracking the conversation, now that they were finished talking to others, Bianca addressed the first comment he had made, referring to her offer of aid for his injury. "Okay so no ice, then. Jeez Tristan, if you didn't want it you should have just said 'no thank you'." Laughing and taking another drink before returning the glass to the table, Bianca shamelessly teased the elf. "I mean, I'm such a horrible kisser and all, I'd hate to put my lips anywhere near you ever again." Reaching up and tucking a few strands of hair behind her ear, Bianca looked around at the others, who seemed caught up in formalities all over again. But she noticed a rather foul look on the blue haired oracle boy's face, and Bibi followed his glare around to some of the servants who were standing about, idly running their mouths about this and that. Hearing the elven princess' words advising for the servants to be ignored, Bianca listened for a moment to figure out... oh. They were of course gossiping. The life of a servant was, obviously, nothing exciting. It was always expected that anything they could grasp at about those they served would do for entertainment, and Bianca stopped caring of those things long ago.

Putting the thought aside, Bianca turned her attention back to Tristan and his question. Turning to face the elf, Bianca rather carelessly said, "No one." Looking over Tristan's face for reaction, she paused only a few moments before explaining. "I've already told you... I fully intend to decline on the marriage, regardless of who it's with and despite whatever the consequence." Sounding quite sure of herself, and pretty damn determined, Bianca nodded once, just to emphasize her words and then took her glass once more to her lips.

Constantine sighed with defeat "Yes so I've noticed, thank you princess Kiriana" he said just above a whisper, he was trying to listen to the stupid gossip that was floating around about him and Verena. Sadly he only had human senses and could only make out bits and pieces of what was being said, still he never took his hand away from Verena, he continued to stroke her tiny hand with his thumb.

So enjoy them all to the maximum.

Silently, like a lioness stalking her prey, the owner of the castle was patiently waiting behind a set of double doors that opened to the other end of the room. A small servant girl quickly took her place beside the taller, exquisitely beautiful woman.
"Madame Felixia, most of the royal prodigies are seated and are eagerly awaiting your arrival. I needn't remind you that you are required quickly after lunch at the Convergence of the Elders."
Beautiful, heart shaped red lips formed into a smile as the taller, model-esque woman nodded, dismissing the smaller servant girl, her manicured, polished fingers grasping the handles of the double doors, pushing them open at the same time. The doors opened, revealing the owner of the castle: a woman, in her mid-thirties with shining, beautiful natural black hair. She stood at about 5'9", her slender form coated in a gorgeous, form-fitting black dress, flattering her natural curves elegantly. Her piercing grey eyes looked upon the royal children, a wide smile on her face as she walked in.
"Good afternoon, saviors of the world." She said it melodically, her voice as smooth and sweet as melted chocolate. "I am Felixia Bennett, and this is my castle. I hope you are all finding yourselves at home."
The sound of high heels clicking against the wood of the floor was prominent as Felixia made her way toward the table, standing before her seat at the head of it.
"I can see that not all of you are present, but after lunch I am required in a very pressing meeting, so I shall just say what there is to say now. I promise I will only take a few moments of your attention to lay down some rules, and then we can eat." The beautiful woman smiled again, folding her hands over her stomach in a ladylike manner, her elbows bent at painfully polite 90 degree angles. "I trust you all have noticed we are hosting a lot of races. I understand that every race has different needs, and they will be catered to individually. I have promised your parents to take good care of you and dote on your every need, so, I shall keep that promise." Stopping a second to breathe, she looked around, her eyes coming to a rest on the vampire at the table. "Vampires, you will be required to take blood tablets for meals, but you will be allowed to hunt in the surrounding forest during the evening; biting humans or any other royal is strictly forbidden. Everyone - and I mean, everyone - is to be in their rooms by midnight. No wandering halls during the nights - this is for your own safety. Also, we understand that you can't be simply cooped up in the castle for an entire year, and there is a small town nearby, which you will be allowed to travel to, if you have a castle escort with you. Now, you are allowed to explore the entire castle, however, the fourth floor is off limits.
There will be no violence between any of you, if you have any quarrels please talk it out or come to me if you are unable to settle it yourselves. You will be sharing rooms with your betrothed - which I will read out as of now."

Felixia took a breath and reached for the scroll that was on her plate, unraveling it and reading out the names carefully. "Deep Water's Prince, thou shalt wed Great Wood's Princess. Great Wood's Prince, thou shalt wed Fair Plain's Princess. Fair Plain's Prince, thou shalt wed Dark Desire's Princess. Dark Desire's Prince, thou shalt wed Deep Water's Princess." Felixia paused again, her eyes wandering over the baffled royals before returning to the scroll. "If you should so choose not to go through with the marriage after the time of the year is up, the price to pay will be death. Not only for yourself, but for your entire family.." Felixia paused, her eyes flicking back up to the royals. "I know it's a lot to swallow. Please, try to come to terms with it, and how it will help our country to unify instead of feud.."

At that, plates of food were brought out to the royals and sat down in front of them all.
Felixia sighed. Hopefully the greater good would win over their hearts and they would consent to marry. The beautiful woman sank into her chair gracefully, holding up her glass of wine. "To the future."
