Another shitty night and no sleep, well that wasn't unusual, now was it? By now she was use to no sleep, and perhaps, four hours if her body granted such. However, for the most part, three hours seemed to suffice and it wasn't long before she would lay awake in her bed contemplating on what she'd do the next day. Piss Nikkie off? That was on the top of the list, as always and it amused her to see somebody so childish looking break into a fit of anger. Every time she saw Damon towing the female away she couldn't help but break into a fit of laughter, for it was one of the many sights to see in this household.

One of the times, she could recall, the female had almost sent the pinkette all up in arms after her. For a moment she was scared but it soon subsided when she was yanked off of her lap and brought back to where the safety point had been. Cass chuckled at the memories she was able to create within the few years she'd been here and they were definitely ones to marvel on. Shaking her head, the blonde sat up and pulled out her lighter, now deciding to run her fingers through the bright flame that came from the zippo in her hands. Boy...wouldn't it be a shame if she accidentally dropped it? The room would surely catch on fire and by then it would be a win for the humans but a hazard to the undead. For a moment she tisked her ill thoughts but paused when she heard cursing followed by small footsteps and she knew who was up---Nikkie and Damon.

It was like she was called upon because the next thing you know, the woman has jumped out of her bed and quietly made an exit to Nikkie and Damon's room. Once in there she rummages through drawers in search of Nikkie's candy stash. Lord only knew how much the vampire kept for herself and how livid she'd be upon finding it missing. With her hands full of the bags of candy, Cassandra exited the room and looked for a place to hide the said candy. However, it didn't take too long before she found another human's room, maybe Jace ..she honestly didn't know but it seemed as though, whoever was in there wouldn't have noticed her. Exiting the room, the female mozied her way down to the living room and made her home on the couch with out a care. Pulling out a cigarette from her pocket, she then lit up and took note that the elder was up..

Cass knew his distaste for smoking in the house but she didn't care, and if approached would play the dumb blonde role in the most sarcastic manner, before finally removing herself from indoors. So with that in mind, she made sure the cigarette was smoked in a leisure type attitude, in other words like she wasn't worried. Though, as she smoked, the woman wondered what the newcomers would be like...she hoped to god there'd be one, at least one, she would like, for she wasn't keen on new idiots; this would just mean a test...and her subjects have yet to rise.

A small sigh escaped from the vampire who was currently curled up in her bed, just then waking up from a good day of sleep. In all honesty, she really didn’t need to sleep, seeing as the vampires really didn’t require the same things that the humans did. Yet that was simply one of the reasons why she chose to sleep, just to feel that little bit more human. Lyla rolled over, seeing that the side of the bed opposite of her was currently void of her mate. She still didn’t quite understand why he had gone through the trouble of saving her after she willingly went and taken her own life. That or how he had even known that she had done such a thing. It was still all a mystery to her, and yet she never really questioned any of it. Not that she ever really needed to, seeing as she trusted the man completely. After all, after she was turned, she did go around and followed him where ever he decided to go. It was a great experience that she would never regret, seeing as she wasn’t stuck being a wife to some nobleman or a pile of bones at the current moment.

Lyla moved to sit up in the bed, a small bit of a head rush getting to her causing the supposed young woman to stop moving. Mentally she counted the days that she had last fed, soon finding that it was about that time that she would need nourishment. Even though she had been a vampire for a good five hundred years, there were times where she would rather sit there and starve instead of going about and hunting a human down just to feed. She liked the arrangement that was currently in place, feeding from a human who would rather be fed from eased that little bit of guilt she felt. In fact, she never really understood why they hadn’t come up with this a while ago. Once the head rush cleared, the blond woman moved from underneath the covers and off the bed, making her way over to the closet of the room she shared with her mate. After some careful consideration, she stripped herself of her pajamas and was soon dressed for the day. Once satisfied with her look, she exited the room, not feeling the need to lock the door behind her.

The sound of a piano soon started to fill her ears as she started to walk through the hallways. Her guess being that someone must have been up playing the wondrous instrument while everyone else had been sleeping. She poked her head into the room, seeing Damon, Nikki, and Ash all standing in the room. Her mind had to wonder if they all had stayed up, with the exception of Nikki seeing as she knew that the pink haired vampire preferred to sleep. Lyla had begun to consider everyone that lived there as part of her special little family. After all, it was the closest thing she’ll have to it. The blond vampire continued to walk by without saying a word to anybody, wondering if any of the humans were awake yet. Her hunger was starting to bug her and she simply just wanted to take care of it. She had already made the decision to feed from Jason as she was getting ready. The young man was always compliant and she simply wasn’t really up for that much of a fight that morning. Not that any of the others were the same way, but she still thought the choice was for the best.

Once she had reached the young man’s room, she lightly knocked on the door before entering, something that she always did as a polite gesture. After all, she only wished the same courtesy be extended to her, especially if she was indecent at the time someone wished to speak to her. “Jason, Are you awake?” She softly said, her head tilting to the side as she stayed in the doorway, still hoping that she wasn’t disturbing his sleep. “I’m a little hungry and was wondering if I would be able to feed from you.” Asking permission was another thing that she had also did as well. Her simply thinking that it was polite before going and sticking her fangs into his flesh.

The sound of a well played violin can be compared to that of the sound of emotions, from the length of sadness to the shortness of expectations. Its low pitch whispering like the wind and warm like a blanket and then it gets higher and higher until the pitch is so high, its borderline painful. However, just before one reaches such pain, it suddenly stops as if being silenced by the artist... and, then it begins to whisper its sweet nothings once more into your ears. If one allowed them-self to experience the ride it takes them upon, they would find it to be quite similar to a roller coaster. Cori found himself awaking to the beautiful moans of a violin, a sound that was completely foreign to the twenty-year old. He lived in a trailer on the bad outskirts of town, such exquisite delights were unknown to people like him. Typically, he awoke to the moans of his mother in the other room with her new favorite flavor of the week or month. Occasionally, he would hear the Hendersons next door shouting at one another as they threw what few precious items they did possess at one another. Growing curious, he followed the beautiful notes to find his mother and an unfamiliar male in the living room. His mother had an sweet smile that made her appear innocent, a sight that he had never believed that he would ever see. The man played the instrument with much skill, possibly capturing his mother's heart. He didn't necessarily believe in love, but he knew that something important was indeed taking place before his chocolate brown glaze. Not caring to interrupt the moment they were having, he excused himself from the room and made his way outside. He did not dare ponder on the scene he witnessed for too long. He was pleased to say the least, it showed that there was perhaps hope for his mother to pull herself from the mental torpor she was enamored with.

Despite the amazing sight he witnessed that morning, everything else seemed to fall to pieces around him. His boss Akhil failed to alert him to the fact that he was selling the convenience store to another Indian family. Therefore, he was surprised when he went to work and found the store under new ownership and himself out of a job. Returning home, Mrs. Henderson decided that she had enough of her husband's infidelity and blew his brains out with the man's best rifle. Unfortunately, Cori witnessed the whole scene and had to be brought to the local precinct for questioning as to all that transpired before the men in blue took the woman away. Leaving the police station late that night, he found his path crossing one that would become the pivotal point of his life.

"You look like one that is not afraid of a little danger." Cori raised an eyebrow in question, vaguely enticed by the strange woman's words. "If one takes no risks, what is the point of living life?" He replied after some thought, he knew not the woman. But, he doubt holding a conversation with her would do him any serious harm. "Is there life after death? Trespass and you shall find out." Most individuals would write the woman off as insane and distance themselves from her, Cori found her to be quite endearing. The more she said, the more entranced he became. He loved talking about such controversial and questionable matters. "Trespass you say? I was on my way home. Is there somewhere else of interest that awaits me?" He found himself enthralled by the woman's sinful smile, at that moment he knew that he was dancing along a thin rope. However, he could not find it within himself to care. It was not everyday he came across someone of great interest that presented an opportunity for adventure. "There is a mansion that many are afraid to enter. They often say that you can't..." She paused as if she was second guessing her decision. In her mind, a battle of morality raged on. If she lured the male to the house, she would be paid quite a large sum of money. However, she would be damning another in the process of doing so. She knew too well of the stories about that mansion and the man that offered her the money seemed shady. "You can't what? Do continue." The woman sighed, she really did need the money to be able to lead a better life for herself. "Wait until the morning when the sun rises." She fished out a small piece of paper from her pockets and handed it to the male. "Follow that address and it will lead you to an abandoned house that is said to be haunted." The woman bid him goodbye, Cori stared at the paper with great interest. He couldn't resist the challenge, he figured the only danger the house would present would be a weakened foundation. He would just make sure to tread carefully and restrain from slamming doors.

Upon arriving back home, Cori surprisingly found that his mother was still home. There was something definitely going on between his mother and her new fling, she rarely stayed in home. It was a hour before midnight, normally his mother would be out clubbing. Yet, here she was with the man that played violin for her earlier in the morning, asleep on the couch with the television and all her clothes on. Making his way to his room quietly, he prepared for his nightly shower before heading off to bed himself. He found it hard to fall asleep, filled with much excitement for the adventure that awaited him. Never before did he have the chance to explore a haunted house, not that he was a novice to such themes. He frequented the graveyards around town, finding much interest in checking out the names on the tomb stones and may have tried to attempt a few rituals he found in books. Never did any of them work, always a hoax in the end.

He awoke the next morning at around seven, the sun threatening to bleed through the black cloth curtains that shielded the window of his room. He quickly packed a few sets of clothes in his backpack with a few personal belongings he would want with him. Due to losing his job, he figured he would spend three days in the haunted house for some quality personal time. He didn't want to deal with his friends just yet, nor did he want to listen to them attempting to talk him out of his adventure. They claimed to like spooky places, but they refused to stay a week in a morgue last year and tried to talk him out of it. He left a note on the table for his mother when she woke up, alerting her to the fact that he was leaving for a few days to explore. She was used to his disappearances, but he didn't want to worry her. He was all the woman had... Well, unless things between her and the new guy actually last. He made his way to the mansion, finding that it was only an hour trek from where he live if one walked. Approaching the door, he turned the knob and found that it was surprisingly unlocked. He walked in and was astonished to find that he was not alone.

She was sat in what should have been a kitchen, and it was for the purpose it served to the humans. To the dark haired vampire that sat not on a chair but on the counter occasionally placing a piece of oddly diced grapes into her mouth, it was simply another pointless room. She smiled as another piece of diced grape passed her red lips.

She couldn't taste the fruit she was eating but placing it in her mouth it meant that the smell hit her harder and the smell of fruit had always made her happy even after hundreds of years of being a vampire. She finished the last beautiful piece of grape and dropped elegantly from the side. She hadn't slept, not because sleep had evaded her but because it seemed a strange waste of time for someone who didn't need it. She had spent the hours of daylight reading, it was something she found calmed the ever present need to go down stairs and murder and ravage each and every human soul. Her own well worn leather bound copy of 'Sense and Sensibility' laid upon the counter beside her, it's pages where delicate as it grew old and wrinkled like the skin of a human and unlike her own.

She could smell them even from here, the gums around her fangs ached and throbbed as she made the executive decision to wander down to the humans quarters. Her body was pale skin draped in an elegant short red silk dress that's hem stopped half way down her thigh. Her hair was a lightly curled waterfall of deep brown all falling over one shoulder. As she was walking her ears picked up the sound of Damon and Nikkie. She smiled and decided to stop and greet them and so she stood in the door way. "Hey beautiful people!" Her voice was flirty and light. She wasn't really one of those people that hated others, in fact mostly she seemed ambivalent to everyone, save for a few. Before she could making a comment about displays of public affection her attention was caught by a new smell, and the house didn't tend to pick up new smells often but it was the smell of fresh blood and it stood out as if someone had drawn a sample of it beneath her nose. "Fresh blood." her voice was quiet and lost, she found her smile widening as she spun on her heel and left the room.

She moved quickly following the smell her gums aching as they gave way to a set of extra sharp fangs. She quickly paused and held her hand to her mouth, as she willed them to leave her and they did, sliding back into her gums which by now were now burning. She paused, willing herself to turn. It wasn't her place to greet the newbies and so she forced her body to make it's way to the human section, with an urgency that matched the hungry look in her eyes. She hurried down the stairs. Her eyes flickering along the hallway. She sometimes found herself blaming Ashton for these feelings, maybe if she had spent longer with him as a fledgling she would be better at controlling the murderous urges that almost threatened to control her. She was a predator and had been for hundreds of years without him and planned on continuing that way until he'd found her.

She found herself itching her skin like an addict, not feeding for long periods of time was painful for someone that had spent so much time unbelievably full. 24 hours without blood and she was starved, she found herself pausing before knocking urgently on the door. "Dmitri?" Her eyes where widened and she tugged on her hair nervously. She hated when the others watched her eat so she was nervous that anyone would see her. "Dmitri? Wake up!" She let her voice soften slightly before she burst into his room without waiting for a response.

tab A white haired boy laid sleeping soundly on the plain bed. His mind drifting to the time so long ago, to when he had first come to this new home if his. Of course, his dream grew into the nightmare of when he had been kidnapped. All the things he had experienced with that crazy man. It was his only nightmare, the week little Jason had spent with that man, his hair was black back then instead of the pure white snow he now had. It was only a few years after that he had started to dye it white, and not to long after that he had ventured to the place he would call his new home. Yes, this mansion the boy now slept in had been his home for the past six years. For now he had grown accustomed to this new life. Caring for the other humans that had come, helping the new ones fit into their new roles if they wanted it. Most of all was feeding the resident vampires, and attempting to stay healthy enough for them to feed happily. That could be difficult at times for the young male, being one of the first to arrive at the mansion. Having always been feed on, weakened the boy a consider amount over the years. The only thing that kept him there was keeping it a secret. Jay had grown so attached to the vampires that he didn't want any if them finding out that he might not be useful as a blood bank any more. That was his biggest fear, that they would either kill him or send him off, though in the back of his mind he knew it would be death for sure. Their secret could never be found out from anyone in the outside world.

tab It was a little before sunset that Jason woke from his sleep. The sound of a piano came from somewhere in the mansion, that usually meant one of the older vampires was up. The older vampire's didn't often sleep anymore, which would mean either a sound of music or footsteps would always be heard during the day. It was during sunup that Jay got his sleep, having black-out shades covering his windows to keep the sun from spilling in. As the boy awoke he blinked his eyes open and stared at the door across from him. The door lead out to the hall where the other human's bedrooms were at. The humans had their own separate hall so that they could be somewhat separated from the vampires. There was a sound of anger that came from the person playing the piano. Damon was awake for sure, Jason could also tell that Ashton, the vampire clan leader was awake. The soft footstep of the elder came softly to the boys ears. Jason knew that soon he would hear the sound of knocking on the doors signaling that the blood banks should awaken. Jay let out a soft breath and rose to sit on his bed. The sheet and blanket fell and pooled around his waist, exposing his bare, pale chest. He stayed their a moment longer before standing up from the bed and stretching a bit. Quickly catching himself on the side of the bed, as his head spun and threatened to have him fall. He stayed there a moment longer until the wave of dizziness subsided.

tab Having regained his vision, Jason walked over to the closet and pulled out a nice long sleeved, gray shirt. Pulling it on over his head, he then pulled on some jeans before hearing the knock on his door. It was the elder of course, but Jason could tell he was just waking everyone up. Perhaps Jay wouldn't be the one Ashton would feed from today. A few of the older vampires had learned how to go many days without feeding, which in all honesty made Jason feel that much better. That meant a little longer recovery time for the boy and the other blood banks. It was during that moment, of him standing there lost in thought that another knock came to his door. Jason looked as the door opened and their stood Lyla. He listened to her question before realizing the small amount of light in his room was going out. Walking over to the bed side table, he flipped on the not very bright light. "Yes I am awake, and of course you may feed from me." Jason said to her softly. Pulling the lower cut shirt to one side a bit so his neck was exposed better. He sat down on the edge of his bed and patted the edge of it, for the girl to come over and feed. Though it was more for him then her comfort, just in case he had another wave of dizziness. At least on the bed he wouldn't have that much of a fall if he did pass out.

After simply giving the wake-up call for the humans, Ashton walked downstairs to the living room, only for the smell of smoke to again hit his sensitive nose. He easily followed it to living room and saw Cassandra sitting there, nonchalantly smoking the death stick. Now Ashton knew the blonde wasn’t stupid. He also knew that she simply liked attention and liked to mess with some, including Nicolette and Damon. ”Don’t even try to play it off like you don’t know the rules.” he said to her sternly, ”Those things are bad for your health and bad for the health of the others. I will not allow such a thing.” he said. He pinched the cherry of the cigarette between his fingers when it was in her mouth. The sting of the burn was not painful, but a welcome relief to this unfeeling body. The burn would heal before anyone even saw the mark. He took the cigarette from her mouth and taking it out back to dispose of it. He then headed back upstairs, the hunger growing inside of him, he would need to feed and would not do so from Cassandra.

Ashton came across Jay’s room, thinking about asking the blonde male permission to feed, but seeing that Lyla had gotten there first, ”Good evening, both of you.” he said, looking passed Lyla, his eyes danced across Jay’s fragile body. Of course, all of the humans seemed fragile to them, but he had been here the longest and the more Ashton saw him, the paler he looked, and today was no exception, ”I know your thirst is probably great by now.” he said to Lyla, having respect for her due to her kindness to the humans in this house being much like his own, ”But perhaps you should find another…or at least let Jay eat first to replenish his energy a bit.” he said to the female vampire, hand on her shoulder. He looked to Jay, ”I’m sure someone will cook for you soon.” he said.

Just as he was about to make his way to Dimitri’s room where he heard his mate forcefully trying to awaken the male, a scent reached him and made his mouth water. It was new blood, and considering his hunger had not be satisfied in many days, it drove his senses crazy, ”No one go downstairs.” he commanded, mostly of his clan, though to the humans who were still upstairs as well. He rushed downstairs, passing by the living room, ”Do not, I repeat, do not leave this room.” he demanded her in passing. He made his way to the foyer of the home as the new male walked through the door. His hands shook and his nose twitched, ”Hello….” he said to the male. It had been a while since a human had the guts to stumble up to their door, considering there had been so many stories of those who had disappeared here, so Ashton was somewhat surprised. His mouth watered as his senses were in overdrive wondering how the male tasted. He was disgusted with himself, ”Can I help you with something?” he asked. He couldn’t help but wonder why that door wasn’t locked.

tab "You sure you don't want a ride?" asked her handsome, now ex, boyfriend. She had gone to the mini-mall after school, meeting up with her friend, but instead of seeing Michelle alone, she witnessed something horrible. Her best friend in the whole world was making out with James, her boyfriend for two years. To top it off, she hadn't taken her medicine, it was in her backpack, but she just hadn't wanted to take it. Now, it was too late. She had exploded, beat her friend to a pulp and now was banned from her favorite place. Now, she was walking the two miles home, alone. "I never want to see you again, and I'm not getting in that car." Her voice was flat, lifeless, and with that said she walked off.

tab The walk was long, and quiet, not to mention the fact that the sun was going down. She gripped the straps of her backpack tightly, a small squeak of fear coming out of her throat as she realized what she was doing. Eyes shifting here and there, she felt as if she was being followed. To her left was the woods, more importantly her shortcut home. Without a second thought she took it, not realizing that she truly was being followed, not until she heard a twig snap behind her. Turning her head slightly, she saw him. Her eyes widened as fear spread through her like a wildfire. She took off running as fast as her feet would take her. Glad of those two years in track, she was the all-star runner, and it helped a whole lot right about now.

tab Off in the distance she could see a house, no, a mansion, and she sprinted toward it practically running right into the door like a bird flying into a closed window. She began pounding on the door, screaming "Help! Please, oh god help me!" she looked back to where the man should have been, but he was nowhere to be seen. A small sigh escaped her as she dropped to her knees, eyes scanning the area constantly in case he was just hiding to see if someone truly was there. Her legs felt as if they were on fire and her lugs felt like they were about to explode, but for right now she was alright, someone would be coming to the door any second now to rescue her. With that thought she looked back to the mansion and realized something, oh no... dread filled her. This was the mansion that nobody was supposed to live. Therefore, nobody would save her. Fear stabbed through her gut, and she felt paralyzed. Should she get up and continue running? Or just stay here until the danger hopefully passed? At this point she felt hopeless, sure she was either going to get kidnapped and brutally hurt like her brother, or just killed and her body left in the leaves. At that thought tears began to flow down her cheeks and she went into a fit of violent sobs.

Lyla simply gave Jason a small smile as he gave his permission, soon moving over to sit down on the bed next to him, simply watching as he moved the collar of his shirt down in preparation of the feeding. She gave a small smile to the young man before softly speaking. “Thank you. I am sure you know that I appreciate this very much Jason.” Her head nodded then, thinking of how she’ll always be thankful. Her thanks should have been more directed towards Ashton, who was the one who changed things to be this way. Feeding this way, they usually had a human or a few humans that actually wanted to be there and didn’t mind being fed from. Lyla did her best to try and stick with these select few, but other times she just simply went with someone else.

Footsteps soon became audible, from down the hallway and soon stopping in front of the door to Jason’s room. The blonde female turned around and offered the elder vampire a small smile and bowed her head slightly in greeting. “Good evening to you as well.” She had to wonder if Ashton had been planning on feeding from the human that had been sitting beside her, or if he had been on his way to someone else’s room. She was about to turn her attention back towards the blonde male that was sitting next to her, when Ashton spoke again, her gaze dropping a bit as he mentioned her hunger. She had to wonder if it was really that obvious that she was craving the blood that was currently pumping through Jason’s veins right now. And yet, when the elder started to make a point, she was glad that he had stayed instead of walking off and just letting her be. Her gaze turned back up to Jason, taking in his rather pale complexion and starting to wonder how much longer the young man was going to be able to take this. Her head nodded as Ashton placed his hand on her shoulder making sure to point out that before anything is done, that the human should get some food in his system first.

“I’ll take care of that right away.” The least she could do was attempt to make something to eat. Although, seeing as she had little to no experience in the kitchen, Lyla thought that she should leave that all up to Jason. She listened as Ashton soon turned and walked away, a small smile flashing to her face as she moved a hand to touch his shoulder. “Let’s go get you something to eat dear. After that, we’ll see how you’re feeling.” She then started to move to stand up, although halting the process once the clan elder’s voice rang done the hall again. His newest order seemed to contradict the one that he originally gave, seeing as the kitchen was in the base level of the house. It confused her greatly, especially now that she wanted to make sure Jason was alright and well fed now. Although soon it was made clear that something was amiss in the house. She could sense that there was someone that she didn’t recognize in the house.

That was a bit troublesome, seeing as people usually didn’t wander up to the mansion without any warning. “A human has wandered into the house. My guess is that he hasn’t gotten far into the mansion, seeing as we’re being restricted to this floor. Guess this means we have to wait a bit before heading down to the kitchen.” She started with, noticing another new scent and very soon faintly hearing talking. Concern filled her features as she had to wonder what was going on in the woods that day to have not just one, but two humans arrive in very close to one another. She honestly didn’t know what to do, seeing as they were told to stay upstairs. She closed her eyes trying to see if that would help her hear things slightly better, although all that did was help her hear the banging on the door slightly clearer. “There’s another one now. They’re currently banging on it. Kind of makes it a bit harder to make things out. I do find this to be slightly troublesome. We’ve never had two humans show up in such a so short of time.” She opened her eyes then, looking to see Jason’s reaction.

The brunette regarded the rumpled bed sheets with minor distaste before checking the room and sweeping out of it in one small motion, the boy could have been under the sheets but she didn't have time or the energy to wake him and ruining the bed sheets bothered her obsessive nature.. Her deepening hunger still tempting her out the corridors which where lined with old regal looking wallpaper and dark wood floors that clicked under her heeled shoes. The girl always seemed to dress like she was going out but never did. Her legs carried her out and she let the scent drive her forward.

When she was starving Auroras instincts played her along much like a young fledgling searching out it's first feed, murderous and wild. Having not heard Ashton's warning for them all to stay where they were and already having been downstairs she let her feet carrying her out into the front hall and found herself with more than one in her company.

Her eyes didn't even consider her mate, though she knew full well that Ashton was stood less than a few feet away from her. Not only because she could smell his undeniable scent, which always held a light self-loathing when he was around humans but also because since he had turned her she had always seemed to know when he was close by.

She moved into the room, subduing the seemingly undying urge to gorge on the human boys blood and taking a second to consider him, dark hair, not ugly but Aurora couldn't really see anything more interesting than the gentle and almost unnoticeable pulsing of the veins in his neck and the gentle sweet melody of the beating of his heart and the slightly off putting smell of stale cigerettes. Her eyes were such a deep brown that they seemed to meld with her pupils which were pin pricks in the center of swimming chocolate that latched onto his pulsating neck.

She moved to put her hand to her mouth in an attempt to check whether her fangs had made their burning, dried up way out of her pink gums, they hadn't and so she was safe for now. She moved toward the boy, slowly one gentle elegant step after the other. Pausing when she was just a foot from him. "You do know what happens to trespassers, don't you sweetheart?" her voice was that impossible dark bitter sweet sound that she had used when speaking to Nikkie and Damon previously the sort that was flirty and light but not serious.

She looked up as something appeared to throw itself against the door with a thrashing bang, and before Ashton or anyone else could she was there, throwing it open and looking down at the girl with one hand placed on her hip. She raised an eyebrow, as she watched the human girl in a fit of sobs on the doorstep at her feet as if considering what to do. She seemed to inwardly turn off the monster, her eyes warming slightly as she bent down beside the girl slightly her red velvet dress pooling around her, she offered her a hand. "Come here honey. Nothings going hurt you" A lie, and she knew it if anything was going to hurt the girl it wasn't out there it was offering her help and a welcoming grin at the door of the moonlit mansion. She found her eyes still trailing to the girls neck and the smell of fear was almost overwhelmingly tempting but some spark of humanity allowed her to reach out to the girl.

Cori found that he was disappointed and embarrassed with the situation. The woman told him that the house was abandoned and haunted by ghosts, that was clearly all one big lie. The house's interior appeared to be very well lived in and the occupants didn't hide their distaste for him being there. They didn't seem too pleased with the fact that a stranger just waltzed into their lovely home. He was greatly embarrassed, he should have just stuck to exploring cemeteries or did research on the home before entering. Next time, he would ask around and make sure the house was truly vacant. "Well this is certainly embarrassing. Not quite sure you will believe me when I say that I thought the house was abandoned and haunted. Then again, even that wouldn't be enough to excuse my actions. I should leave...."

Right when he planned on making his departure, a girl ran inside the mansion as if she was frightened for her life. He cared not about the anger of others and usually found that he was the reason for others growing bitter. However, Cori absolutely hated watching people cry or stare at him with an expression that spoke of much sorrow. He simply couldn't handle such and found an unexplainable urge to always help the person out in need. If one truly wanted to, they could easily manipulate him by crying. He portrayed himself as one that didn't care about the views of others, but he really did have a big heart deep inside. Getting on bended knee, he wrapped an arm around the crying girl. "Hey, don't cry. You are safe now. I won't let the big bad guys get to you without a fight.

He weakly smiled at the woman that joined them in the room and addressed him about trespassing, "I apologize for my rude actions. I was told by a woman that the house was haunted and abandoned. I figured I would just explore and camp out for a few days. Take pictures and draw. I will be out of your hair relatively shortly. Please allow me to help this girl first." He rubbed at the the girl's shoulder, attempting to calm her down. He grew up an only child, but he did have experience in calming his neighbors after they fought with their respective families.

tab Camille knew deep down that something bad was going to happen to her, so out of instinct she closed her eyes and went to her happy place. If something were to get her she wouldnt know about it, thats how badly she zoned out. The tears were still flowing down her face but her heartrate slowed and her fear slipped away a little bit. Soon though she could hear voices as if she were hearing them underwater and as she opened her eyes she realized they were right next to her just distorted where she had been zoned out. An arm was around her shoulders, the man rubbing her arm slightly as if trying to soothe, and a female was holding her hand out. Honestly Cami had distracted herself so well, she had forced the recent events from her mind and forgot them, that is until the lady mentioned nobody hurting her. Everything slammed back into her mind full force and she let out a whimper before turning into the males arm and burying her face into his shirt crying more violently than before.

tab Once calmed down, again, she managed to talk, her voice slightly hoarse from all the screaming and crying, "S-someone..... someone was following me...." her lip quivered as another round of tears threatened her but she fought through it, "I ran, he followed, but I think I was faster..... or he got scared that I found help...." it was then that a thought occurred to her, this place was supposed to be empty, so why were there people? Not that she would complain though. As she looked around her mood changed, quickly, and automatically took in the nice furnature and decoration of the house. "You have a very nice place..." she said, yes tears were still sliding from her eyes but her bi-polar was kicking in hardcore. The thought flashed through her head of taking her meds, but she would have to wait until she was alone. Asking to use their bathroom might work, but she wasnt sure if they sould allow it, and in all honesty all she wanted to do was go home.

tab Deciding it best to take her medicine before she went into another fit of uncontrollable rage, she looked up at the nice lady, then to the guy who she was practically cuddled up to, and over to the man just standing there, unsure of who to ask really. A small frown graced her lips as she simply closed her eyes and just changed her mind. She scooted back from the male a little bit, so she wasnt right up against him but his arm was still around her. She turned her wide green-blue eyes to him and smiled softly, "thank you.... it was sweet of you to be there for me, a complete stranger" in all honesty it made her respect him. Turning her eyes to the female who had held out her hand and offered such kind words, she nodded slightly "and thank you as well" her voice was soft, pitiful, and just plain tired. She honestly felt as if she could curl up against someone or something and just fall asleep, but no, she would stay awake until she made it home.

For a moment, it was quiet, until the melody of the piano began yet again and that's when Cass figured out that Damon was back at it. Just as the beautiful noise filled the house, it soon came to a stop followed by Damon saying something, in which she couldn't quite make out. The female chuckles and knew the vampire probably wasn't happy with Aurora, whom made her rounds to greeting people in the household. It was almost unnerving how happy the said vampire was in the mornings, it almost made Cassandra wonder if vampires did, in fact, need sleep. If they did? Well, perhaps Damon would be in a better mood and probably spare those around him opposed to ripping their heads off. Cassandra brushed the mere thought off, knowing even if that was the case he would still be crazy old Damon. She drew the cigarette up to her lips and to her surprise hadn't drawn in the smoke and glanced up when she heard words that confirmed her thoughts, earlier. Ashton, their elder, wasn't keen on smoke and every chance he got, took the cancerous stick from her grasp and often suggested to move the smoking outside, or there wasn't any at all.

She clicked her tongue on the roof of her mouth and it was almost like he read her mind, more so she did it more than she should, by telling her she didn't have to play stupid. Yes, she was a bright individual, but it was nice to play the dumb blonde role just to get her way.. This time, it seemed, she wouldn't get what she wanted. Before she could claim the cigarette as her own, the vampire took the cancerous stick from her mouth and strode out of the room to dispose of it. The woman grumbled under her breath and pulled out her pack, now examining the contents. She frowned slightly and noticed she'd have to ask for permission to leave soon to buy a few more packs. Being granted permission shouldn't be a hard task, nevertheless, considering the vampires were aware the female would return voluntarily. With that, she got to her feet to move outside to have her morning cigarette only to stop in her tracks when she heard the door open.

Her eyes flashed towards the hallway that led to the main door and immediately she knew that whoever walked in wasn't a resident here, for they would have passed by the living room if they were. Before she could make her way to the door to inspect, Ashton walked briskly by the living room and instructed the woman to stay where she was. Did he honestly think that she would stay put? If he had, he obviously wasn't taking into consideration who he was instructing----she didn't listen well to directions, in all honesty. Not before long Aurora came in tow after Ashton and her voice could be heard from where Cass stood and it was soon clear that there was more than one person here. One of the individuals was a girl, younger perhaps, and she sounded as if she was crying. Cassandra moved her mouth into a frown and didn't know why the girl was crying, but obviously, something happened. Not long after Aurora had assured the girl as she had with the rest of the blood banks in the house.

The blonde rolled her eyes and knew of the lie seeping through the elder woman's voice, but soon after a more masculine voice had insisted that the crying girl be left alone. Somewhere in the whole mess, Cass had taken note that they were being accused of trespassing, at that the girl snorted to herself. Trespassing, yeah, whatever... Finally she moved from the spot she'd been standing in and made her way down the hallway, now standing quietly behind the vampires, making sure to make herself unknown until she spoke. The girl, in which had been crying, was just a teenager, at that Cassandra almost felt a dislike towards the female but it soon subsided when she took note that the female had truly been scared at the moment. Cassandra soon spoke up as her eyes landed on the two new humans, who she was sure would soon become apart of the household. "Crowding over them, now, are you? Perhaps we should give them room, Ashton and Aurora, and welcome them instead of telling them they've trespassed? I can do the kind duty of making them something to eat after I head outside for my cigarette, in which you ruined." she said with mirth filled in her voice, now giving Ashton a look. However, after she had walked in on them, the girl seemed to change her tune, instantly. Cass blinked and didn't know how to react, it was odd to say the least.

Vampires. They don't actually exist. They're fiction. You either heard about them in movies, books, cheesy fanfictions that people made because they can't deal with the fact that vampires don't exist to fulfill that sexual desire they longed for. They were blood thirsty creatures that longed for animal or even sometimes human blood. They were known to burn to ashes in the sunlight (or now, sparkle if you follow the Twilight series that Draco dreaded.) They don't sleep, they don't eat what we eat, they have supernatural powers, fanged teeth and sometimes, just look like pure perfection. No. These beings do not exist nor will they ever exist. At least that's what Draco believed until that very night that put him in the position that he was in.

Traveling, Draco wasn't really familiar with the area he had been in. going to a local coffee shop, he had heard some teens speaking of a house in the woods. Now, these teens spoke about never even going there but people who usually did never came back. Being a writer, you know that he was instantly interested and continued to eavesdrop until the teenagers had left to do what teenagers of this generation do. He finished his snack and drink, grabbed his backpack and headed into the direction. It wasn't hard to find the woods, but it was sure easy to get lost in it. His light was slowly fading away and with the overcast, it was speeding up the process. It was even more rushed when it started drizzling a little before a hard rain came splashing down on the male. Being lost in the woods, with barely no sunlight, and soaking wet and cold; this had to be another choice that Draco regret making.

                                    Damn his curiosity.

"You look lost." A voice made the male turn around to see another male standing there under a umbrella. You could believe that the guy scared the living crap out of him. Yes, I believe I am. Would you be kind enough to show me the direction back to the town? Draco just figured that this guy knew where it had been since he seemed so calm. "You've walked quite a distance. It's getting rather late too. Why not just come to my home until morning?" Draco would've usually declined... if he was a child. Being a writer, he had stayed with many strangers, some who were completely strange and this guy... Well, he looked normal. That'd be lovely, thank you, Draco smiled before the male motioned him under the umbrella as they began the walk to a place that Draco could compare to hell.

Curiosity killed the cat. How long before his curiosity killed him?

Opening his eyes, the Sweden/American male's green eyes looked to see he was still in the same room, on the same damn bed. He was sure from the sleep he had managed to get that he was dead. Sadly, he was misguided and would have to suffer a little longer. He would usually be awoken to a vampire barging in his room to feed or some other type of noise ( most likely caused by Ethan.) He had heard chattering and movement which meant that the people in the household were up. He didn't really care much for the vampires that kept him here, but you wouldn't be able to tell by his kind nature. Even through all that he's went through, he was still kind to them. They probably thought that he was just doing the act so he could be released for 'good behavior.' No, it was just how he was raised.

tab Jason sat patently waiting on the bed for Lyla to walk over and take what she needed, when Ashton arrived at the door. Jay nodded to the male before looking at Lyla who had made her way over to the bed and was sitting ready to drink. It was Ashton's next words that stopped the girl from continuing. This sparked a bit of worry in Jason's thoughts as he looked at the elder standing there. Asking that Lyla waited until the white haired boy ate before drinking from him. Jason gave the man a questioning look before nodding. Knowing it was just easier to agree with the elder then to defy the man. Jason looked at Lyla as she promised Ashton that she would take care of Jay before feeding herself. "Thank you Lyla, it will help make my blood taste better for you I am sure." Jason muttered before standing up and was about to head down to the kitchen. He was about to head for the door when Jason heard Ashton pretty much take back getting food and for the two to stay in the room.

tab That meant only one thing, a human had stumbled across their little home. Ash left the two and Jay just let out a sigh and went over to the window. Pulling the shade back some to reveal the darkness outside. Unfortunately his bedroom faced to the back of the house, which meant he wouldn't be able to see who was at the front door. He could hear a few voices down stairs and one of them seemed rather familiar. Like he had heard it somewhere before. Jason just let this thought roll off as a coincidence and let it go. Looking at Lyla he smiled a bit and motioned for her to follow him. "I'm starving, and no one will notice us sneak into the kitchen." Jason said to her before he headed out into the hall. Checking to see if anyone would spot him before heading out into it. Unsure if Lyla was following behind him or not, he headed for the stairs. Pausing once when he heard a few more voices ahead. It seemed none of the other vampires had taken Ashton's advice to stay put where they were.

tab Jason took a few steps down the stairs before he heard the voice once more. 'That voice sounds very familiar' Jay thought to himself as he turned the corner of the stairs. Stopping dead in his tracks as he stared down at the vampires and the two new humans. There cuddled next to a boy was a black haired girl. He took a couple more steps down and just couldn't believe his eyes at all. It couldn't be Camille, it just couldn't. This girl had to be someone else, and not his sweet little half sister. "Camille, is that you?" Jason said from his spot at the stares. Not looking at anyone else but the black haired girl sitting in the front door of the mansion. The very mansion he had found 6 years ago and had lived as a blood bank, wondering if he would ever see his parents or family again. Now there was just once piece of his family sitting before his eyes, and Jay just wished with all his heart it wasn't actually her.

onights the night!' The thought pulsed through Gemma Smith's mind. She looked into the woods, sitting in the drivers seat of her beat up Camry. The ruby red vehicle was in good shape, save for the paint being scratched and a dent in the back bumper she kept promising to repair. Gemma shivered with anticipation. After two weeks of rejection letters from her favorite colleges she needed some excitement. And what better way to get that rush than to sneak into an old abandoned mansion?! 'Sneaking into a creepy old house wouldn't be as great as the old haunted mansion. It's gonna be creepy, but I HAVE to get rid of this writers block!' Gemma thought that last part desperately. As an aspiring author, getting rejected from San Fran, NYU, and TSU was really hurtful. Now she couldn't seem to write anything. No tale nor story would come out of her frustrated fingers. With a steely breath, Gemma opened the door into the cold air and slung her messenger bag over her shoulder. It held her computer, a small pillow, a blanket, a flashlight, some toiletries, and some warm pajamas. It was practically twice its normal size, but Gemma felt that she was prepared. She took her first steps into the woods.

☼Leaves crunched under her feet as she used her flashlight to point the way. She remembered asking people about the mansion, planing to do a huge piece about it to not only give to her boss at the newspaper clinic but to more colleges. People didn't know much about the mansion. Some said there was a massacre in it, others said a whole family committed suicide. Everyone said that no one cleaned up the mess, no matter what the mess actually was. Gemma was not only doing this article because she wanted to ge into college, she was obsessively curious about anything and everything life threw her way. It was part of why she loved books, and writing. In a book you can go anywhere, learn new things, meet new people, even if they were dead long ago. When you write you can create a whole new world, everything is at the tips of your fingers. Gemma smiled, feeling ultra brave in the dark woods. She heard coyotes far off, they were yapping to no end, they'd found prey somewhere deep in the forest. Gemma shivered for a moment, fearing for the poor critter the coyote pack was so excited about.

☼She spun quickly around, moving her flashlight to see as much as she could, just in case. When she saw nothing, she sighed in relief, for a few short moment she'd though she'd been the poor critter! She chuckled nervously. "Calm down Gemma! Your fine." She whispered to herself as she headed deeper into the woods. The moon hung low in the sky, it wasn't quite past six thirty and it took her until at least six forty five to see the trees starting to thin out. She picked up her pace, eager to get to the mansion that had piqued her interest so. She caught a glimpse of something ahead. A small road that lead to large wrought iron gates. She let out a gleeful yelp and broke into a skipping run. She got to the gates and wrapped her hands around the thick jail like poles. She grinned, as she caught her first sight of the mansion. It was grand! Big and dark and majestic. It looked clean, untouched by anything but dusk. In the last rays of light, Gemma snapped a picture on her phone to cherish the moment of seeing such a gorgeous mystery.

☼Then came the task of opening the heavy gate. Gemma pulled and pulled, but it only budged a little, and the noise it made was loud enough to be heard for a mile. 'To hell with that!!! That will take forever!' She thought, impatient to stall her curiosity any further. She gave one last tug on the gate just to be sure. It creaked like something was being ripped apart. She gritted her teeth, for some reason scare she might alert someone. She shrugged of the silly notion and reminded herself that the place was empty. She scaled the fence, her bag hitting it slightly and making more rucks as she clambered over. She landed on te other side with a small oomph. The path that led up to the mansion was soft with lack of use and too much rain. Gemma started up it, flashlight in hand. She skimmed the light over the house, its strong beam illuminating closed curtains that must have been centuries old. Thick enough to keep most light out. 'Or in.' She thought stoically. As she got closer she kept blinking her eyes, she kept thinking she saw a slight glow through the windows. She gave a nervous laugh as it finally hit her that she was going into a haunted house. Before her fear could turn her away, Gemma ran to the front door.

☼TShe then realized a problem. 'How on earth am I gonna get in?!' She thought, flustered. She was upset that she hadn't thought of this fact before. She got a crazy idea that the door would be unlocked so she grabbed the handle and twisted it back and forth, it easily followed her motions but rattled none the less. She looked up to the large knocker hanging from the door and grabbed onto that, pulling like she had a chance of yanking the door open on her own. Frustrated she let go and it banged against the door. She didn't care that she was making noise, no one was there, right? She took a few steps back, still on the front steps but she was now able to look around at the mansion, praying for a broken window or one that was slightly cracked up.
