This would take some getting used to.
Damien had only been working here at Crooked View for no more than a month. Still, he wasn't used to any of this. Patients strange ticks and behaviors, learning about what would set some off, and keeping track of everything in general... It was a lot of work. Plus this place as a whole gave him the willies. It had to be haunted. It just had to be. Damien had read up on the place, thoroughly, before thinking about stepping foot into it, and was shocked at what he had found. At first he thought it'd be cool. An interesting experience he could learn from. Well, he was learning, but... Maybe this was a bit more than he could handle. Still, the young man just needed to take his time. Maybe the place would grow on him. The patients weren't all that bad, really, even though if some of them sort of... Frightened him. If Damien couldn't handle this, then, well, he shouldn't have decided to be a nurse... Right? Besides, he was the only one, that he knew of, that was working hard at doing his job right, and doing it diligently.
With a small sigh, the male exited the safety of one of the cramped work rooms- one of the few safe hideaways- and slowly walked down the hall. Just as he reached the large, open day room, he heard the doctor announce to everyone that it was, in fact, morning. Damien rolled his eyes slightly and headed to the window where the man was sitting. He smiled, giving the man a cheerful good morning, and it was quickly returned. There was a small slit at the bottom of the window, and through there, Damien was handed patient's pills, as well as glasses of water. Each glass and pill cup had names on them. Damien was still trying to learn as many names as he could. He looked them over as he turned and walked, now down a long, narrow hall. Left turn, right turn... Left turn again... Into another open room, filled with beds and groggy looking patients. This was the section where the younger patients were held at night. Too bad they couldn't have more privacy, but it was easier to look after them, this way. "Morning, everyone." He got a few glares, but continued on smiling as if they were smiling right back. "Come on, get it line! You know what time it is!" Damien held the tray up, which got a few more glares. "So cranky this morning." What a shame... "The sooner you take these the sooner you can get on with your day! Get something to eat, too. Sounds good, right?" Mumbles in response. Damien sighed, shaking his head.
As he waited patiently for everyone to wake up and actually find the will to stand, a few other nurses passed him by, with the same trays. They weren't as nice... He almost winced at their crabbiness. "Well, I see everyone is cranky today," the man mumbled, rolling his eyes. "What a pleasure."
