Alex ran a hand through his hair as he let out a sigh. This week, no, this month was turning out bad. He lost two friends. One being his girlfriend. The break made him cry actually, though he did it while in his room and where no one would know. Just that his best friend could betray him like that and hurt his friends like that. Alex shook his head and focused on what he was doing. A computer was messing up and he was the one sent to fix it. School was over now and everyone was either going to detention, some sort of practice or leaving the school. Alex sat at the chair and leaned back as he fixed the problem. Hopefully this would stay fixed. The Korean-American boy stood up, slung his background on one shoulder and headed out of the room. Alex froze in place as he saw a girl from afar. His heart beat quickly as he felt a flood of emotions overcome him. Edele was walking down the hallway and towards the front doors. Alex watched her the whole way then looked away as the doors closed, blocking his sight. He thanked those doors and went the opposite way, going out a different pairs of doors.

Alex's converse shoes hit the grass and he slid his headphones on, putting the music on shuffle. The first song was Crawling Back To You by Daughtry. Alex sighed again and noticed Edele again. Why does she have to be the one he notices? He wasn't use to standing back and watching her leave. He was usually with her, holding her soft hand and giggling to her words. Alex cleared his throat as he started to choke up a bit. He tore his eyes away and looked at the ground as he walked. He stuffed his hands in his pocket, feeling his heart get even heavier.

Alex twisted his mouth to the side and walked to the park. It was warm outside with a slight cold breeze. The leaves were changing colors and covering the ground now. Alex sat on a bench in front of the pond. Geese honked loudly and splashed around. How nice it must be. Not feeling so many emotions. Just thinking about breeding, eating and moving. Though that kinda sounds like a 17 year old boy. Alex smiled to himself and tapped his foot on the ground in rhythm to the music. His head bobbed a bit as he gazed at the large pond. The sun shone down on it, making it reflect off the top of the water. Alex slid his sunglasses on as the reflection his his eyes.

Edele packed her things slowly after the last bell rang. She always hated battling with the others to get through the door. So, she took her time, gingerly placing her notebooks and pencil and her reading book all in their proper places and finally flipping her messenger bag closed and putting it over her shoulder. Only once it was squarely placed in the perfect position, did Edele start to walk out of the classroom and down the halls to her locker so that she could retrieve the spare notebook she wanted to take home.

However, she rounded the corner and saw someone she really was hoping she'd never lay eyes on again. Okay, that was silly. It was a small town and a small school and Edele did enjoy the band shows, so it was completely impossible that she'd never see him again. But... she couldn't handle it if he tried to talk to her. So, she walked back the other way, avoiding the band guy she'd formerly called a friend.

The main hallway still buzzed with activity. People trying to shove their stuff into their bags or whatever before going off to have their Friday afternoon fun. Edele kept her eyes down a bit as she walked. She'd never been comfortable with so many people around. As she neared the front doors, Edele saw someone else she'd rather not have seen at that moment.

There was Alex, sitting at a computer, probably fixing it. Her boyfriend and best friend. No... ex-boyfriend... Somehow, Edele didn't think she'd ever get used to saying that. She and Alex had known each other for what felt like forever. In reality it was 5th grade. But, that was the beginning of Edele's new life, and it honestly was probably the greatest thing that had happened to her, becoming friends with Alex. They had so many good times. All those years. Edele didn't have many friends, and she felt kind of lost without Alex around. But she couldn't dwell on that. So, blinking a few times to keep the small tears that always formed when she thought about all that had happened from falling down, Edele kept walking out the front doors of the school and headed off to the bookstore where she knew Myka would be.

Myka, Edele's bestie. She'd know just what to do to cheer up. Plus, there was that book Edele was currently working on devouring. It was a book about King Arthur and Camelot. Those were probably Edele's favorite stories, there were few other stories that Edele would keep coming back to like she did the Arthurian legends. Walking into Dusty Books, Edele gave a wave to the woman who ran the store and headed straight upstairs.

She opened the door and plopped herself down onto a couch, setting her back beside her and exhaling a deep sigh. Then, Edele turned her gaze over to Myka. Knowing that the writer would want to know what was up, Edele explained, "I saw he who shall not be named and Alex today." Then, Edele grabbed her bag and rifled through it searching for a certain book. There had to be half a dozen books in this bag. "Why does life have to suck so bad?" Edele nearly whined when she finally found the book she'd been looking for. Last time she was up here she'd accidentally taken the book home with her. Not that it was missed terribly. Edele put the book back on it's shelf then let her fingers graze along the spines of the others on the shelf. She missed Alex. A lot.

Myka set her book down on her lap and raised an eyebrow at the sighing girl next to her. "If you would talk to Alex, it might make things better. Just not now." she said, looking at the wood floor. "Give it some time. Things will fall into place." Myka smiled at Edele in encouragement. "Things won't be sucky forever." she added, opened her book again. Myka couldn't get into the reading anymore, so she set the book down again after putting a bookmark in her spot. "Boys are just troublesome." Myka's voice changed suddenly into annoyance. "Why do they have to be cute, yet...avoidable." she said to her friend. "You like them, but you don't want to be..near them because being near them makes you want them even more." Myka sighed and leaned back against the sofa and crossed her legs. "Boys suck." she chuckled and shook her head, "My mistake." she said, "Emotions suck." she said, changing it. Myka twisted her mouth to the side and looked at Edele. "We have this year and then one more. There are an endless amount of possibilities, waiting for us to experience them. We just have to be patient." Myka nodded in content to her own wise words. She hoped she helped a bit, though she knew it couldn't heal the feelings. Edele and Alex were both hurt badly by this and it would take time to get over it. "I can talk to him if you want." Myka offered, not knowing the answer.

Ugh... math... terrible, ugly, horrible, disgusting math. Good thing it was the last class of the day, AND it was Friday. Which just made the ringing of the bell that much more enjoyable for Auggie. She smiled a smile that could be mistaken for a smirk and hopped up out of her desk, shoving all the stuff she'd had on her desk into her back pack and slipping her arms through the straps as she rushed out of the classroom. First out the door as always. Auggie was sort of had a reputation for actually throwing punches to those who got in her way. Sure, a violent and probably not nice way of treating people, but that didn't matter to Auggie. She was short and small and wanted out of the classroom in a hurry. And no one ever listened when you asked them to move.

Finally out in the hallway, Auggie hurried over to her locker. A few of the weirdos who hung around the school halls got in her way and met with Auggie's shoving. Why people stopped in the middle of the hallway to talk was beyond Auggie. She liked to get out of the building as fast as possible. And to that end, Auggie took her skateboard out of her locker and proceeded to actually skate around the people in the hallway. Until the principle stopped her...

"Miss Keen," the man's voice rang out above the din of the teenagers. "Yes, Principle Maynard?" Auggie said, full of charm as she stopped herself, kicked up her board, and turned around. "What have I told you about skateboarding in my halls?" Auggie looked down at the floor then smirked up at the principle. "That if I fall and bloody your floors I cant sue you?" The man gave a look that really just meant that he'd expected the girl to answer as such. "Just walk until you're out the door, all right."

Auggie flashed a grin and walked out the door, not even saying goodbye to the principle. It was a daily occurrence for the skater girl to be stopped by the head of the school. Nothing new at all. Augge put her board down and glided across the sidewalk once outside, wondering where she'd go today. As it happened, she started drifting toward the park. Well, it was as good a place as any. So, sticking her headphones in her ears and turning on her music, Auggie skated to the park.

It was a nice park. There was a lake and everything. And the sidewalks were pretty good for boarding. Not a whole lot of gaping cracks and such. So, Auggie, feeling the need to breath in a breeze off the water, headed over to the lake. And there she saw a guy, sitting on a bench, with some pretty fly shades. He seemed familiar... Oh yeah! He'd fixed one of the computers in the library one time while Auggie was in there using a comp for a project. Yeah.. and.. She had no clue what his name was. But he was a cool dude. Maybe. Whatever, Auggie was bored and wanted to talk to someone. And he was the closest.

Boarding over and stopping in front of the bench Auggie nodded in greeting to the computer fixing guy before she sat down on her board in the middle of the sidewalk. She didn't want to sit in the grass in case there was goose poop or something equally icky in there. "What's up Techy?" Auggie asked him, thinking quick and using the term for anyone who was able to fix technology. "Enjoying the scenery this fine afternoon? Thinking about world domination? Or just absorbing cosmic radiation?" Auggie was so weird, and she knew it. She tended to babble and be obnoxious and act only on a whim rather than think things through. "Sweet shades, by the way," she added as an afterthought.

{Location, location, location} The park
{Who dat?} That one.. techy guy.. is his name Alex? I think his name is Alex...
{Take a look into my brain} Nice day... Maybe this guy is cool... Oh look that goose just crashed! haha.. silly gooose!

Edele sat on the floor in front of the shelf listening to her friend's words. She made good points. Maybe Edele was just reacting badly? Or was dwelling on it too much? Oh, life was full of complications and stuff that just sucks, and there's no explanation for it other than humans are generally insane. Edele knew that Myka was trying to help here.. but it seemed like the things that usually made her feel better all had to do with Alex.

Pulling a book off the shelf, Edele went back to the couch and curled up on one end, fingering the pages but not opening the book up. She knew with her mind like this she'd not be able to read. "No, you dont have to do that," Edele finally answered Myka. She really didn't know what she'd even want Myka to say to Alex on her behalf. There was just so much, or so little that Edele wanted to say to him. Then, Edele's mind registered something Myka had said earlier. "How endless can the possibilities be Myka? It's a small town... and I'm gonna run into him all the time. And... how can I cope if I always feel like this every single time?" It was a miserable feeling. Helplessness and despair at not being able to control what had happened.

Edele shook her head, trying to hide the emotions that came with those thoughts trying to creep up on her. Thoughts about her old life... Edele never allowed herself to think about anything that had happened before she'd moved her. Looking back over at Myka, Edele tried to give a small smile. "I think I need some icecream.. preferably with cookie dough in it." she said. Cookie dough ice cream was one of the few things that made Edele feel better nowadays.

Nicole strolled down Memory Lane: literally. The main street in his distinguished town was called Memory Lane, which was coincidental, since that street held so many of her memories. One of which, was her current job. Class had just ended, and Nicole was free: free from the drama, the friends, and most importantly, the pain. But it's not like she would be able to actually have a clear head. Oh no. Despite the business Rachel's cafe had after school hours, Nicole wouldn't be able to clear her head. Not when she was alone, at least. She could never trust herself with her thoughts. They were too obscure to handle, even for the innocent girl like herself. But innocent was probably the last thin a lot of people saw her as.

You see, Nicole is a widow. Alright, she wasn't technically a widow. But she had to spend the remainder of her summer bawling over Keith's death. It wasn't easy in her eyes, but then again, Nicole understood life and death. And eventually, she didn't spend the whole day in her room. They were high school sweethearts, her and Keith, both making plans for the future. They were going to apply to colleges together and figure out a future. But apparently, the odds weren't in Nicole's favor. But Nicole is a reasonable person, and instead of mourning over his death, she settled on celebrating his life. The two were the senior class's favorite couple, after all. And after the whole town found of the news, what would happen when she went back to school? Nicole wondered for days what could happen, and eventually, on the first day, she found out. She was greeted by friends, acquaintances, and even people she didn't know, showing all kinds of sympathy. At first, she loved how sweet everyone was being. But eventually, it just reminded her how painful it all was. Some people just didn't understand. Eventually, she just ignored not only everyone, but everything. She tried to live her life like nothing happened, and people believed it. But in her head, it was a crime scene.

Eventually, Nicole found herself behind the front counter of Rachel's Cafe, tying her apron around her waist. As usual, she clocked in for her usual shift. She would work her shift, find somewhere in town to do some homework, and than do whatever she pleased. Which usually meant her going home, the only place she valued. Her life was a mess after the accident, and she just wanted to feel normal again. But life just refused to let that happen. "Nicole, hun, put the desserts on display." The one and only Rachel was gesturing to the tray of delicacies on the counter, and Nicki couldn't help but feel a bit peckish. "I'll get right on it." watching Rachel wander away to finish other tasks, Nicole moved the tray back to wear the display panel was, and grabbed herself a pair of tongs. Carefully, she moved pick up a cookie or a scone, and placed it on the display trays, perfect as usual. The place had a good amount of people, but she knew in a matter of minutes, her peers would find their way there to serve their urge for caffeine.

Ashton

The bell had finally rang. Ashton had made it though his first week at his new school with only a few problems. He didn't have many friends but he did talk to Myka. He wasn't sure how he felt about her but she defiantly was nice. The school had been morning over the death of one of the jocks. he didn't feel much sadness for the kid. He didn't even know the guy all he ever saw of him was pictures and on the news a few nights ago.

As he walked Ashton stopped to let a girl on a skate board go by. He smiled remembering how before he had gotten a job how skate boarding had taken up most of his time. Maybe he would get back into it since he didn't have to work again til next year. He had enough money saved to pay for the nassessaties and a little extra and he knew he would make some money at some of his Kendo matches witch he had one that afternoon.

Once at his locker he packed his stuff and walked out the doors. He decided to go see if the book store had any copies of Romeo and Juliet. It was his favorite old book and he had left it back at his parents house for the little kids to pick up and enjoy sometime in the next few years when and if they got interested into that sort of stuff.

tab Starlie Rose Allen. Weird name for a weird girl, as some people would say. Starlie was many things to many people. To most, she was an incredible friend and confidante. To one, she was a pretty kick a** girlfriend. She even made him sandwiches! To others, she was an annoying pest that needed to be squashed before her big mouth ran her into a ditch. Either way, Starlie liked who she was. Not too pretty, not too ugly. Starlie was very normal. Not too short, fairly normal hair color of dusty blonde, strange eyes that were brown around the iris but blue everywhere else. She thought she was pretty plain, which was fine with her. She waved goodbye to her friends at school and then ambled down the sidewalk towards Rachel's Cafe, where she always picked up her coffee after school, just for a little bit of a pick me up. And it was Friday, so she was pretty sure there was a party tonight she'd be dying to go to. The only bad thing about the cafe, as of late, was the fact that Nicole worked there. Nicole had single-handedly taken it upon herself to make Starlie's life a living hell, which was really hard to do, considering Starlie was a very easy-going personality. Things just didn't bother her too much. But Nicole was good at finding soft spots to dig into her about, which Starlie really didn't like. If someone knew your weaknesses, they could exploit you so easily. Starlie did not like being exploited.

tab She walked into the cafe with her head held high, determined not to let Nicole ruin her afternoon like she had so many times before. She looked busy, which was fantastic. Starlie skirted around her and leaned against the counter, smiling at the woman behind the register. "I'll take a white chocolate mocha with a shot of raspberry expresso, extra whipped cream please," she said. She always got the same thing at Rachel's, which was funny. Starlie waited impatiently for her drink, shifting back and forth on her feet, not wanting Nicole to spot her and drill into her. If she could avoid that, it'd be great. She thanked the lady who handed off her coffee and then shuffled towards the door. "Hey, Starlie!" She froze when she heard her name being called, except it wasn't Nicole's. It was her older brother Archer's best friend Tony. Thank God. Archer and Tony were the ones that actually started the band they were in a few years ago. They were a pretty popular metal band called Destroy the Day, and Starlie was their biggest fan, mostly because her foster brother could really sing. he was super talented. "Hey, listen, Star, we made more fliers for tomorrow's show. D'you think you could put them around town for me? I gotta work tonight," Tony said, handing off the stack of blue fliers to her. "Sure. No problem. I'm so good at whoring you guys out," she said sweetly. "Thanks, Starry. You're a lifesaver!" Tony said and Starlie left before Nicole could get to her. She made a mental note, though, to ask her boyfriend if he wanted to come to the show with her tomorrow, though.

tab Spotting Dusty Books across the way, Starlie ambled her way over and into the cute little store. After pausing to ask the woman behind the register if she could put up a flier in the window, Starlie spotted Ashton, the new kid that Starlie really was growing fond of. She liked that he didn't really have a side in all the drama that was going on. It was a nice change. After sticking her flier up, she stuck the rest of the fliers in her bag and clipped her way over to him. She peered over his shoulder, seeing as he was standing there looking at Shakespeare titles and smiled. "I didn't know you liked Shakespeare, Ash. That's adorable! Not too many guys are into Shakespeare," she commented and then leaned her hip on the bookshelf beside him, taking a sip of her coffee. "I really like Shakespeare, too. Not Romeo and Juliet, mind you. I think their story is a bit pretentious, but I like A Midsummer Night's Dream. I think that's my favorite one." Starlie gave him a warm smile, wondering how he hadn't gotten annoyed with her mouth that just kept running and running. She was so annoying sometimes. "By the way," Starlie said, fishing out a flier from her bag. "Dunno if you know, but my brother is in a band. They're playing tomorrow at the Madhatter downtown, if you wanna come with. You don't have to. Most people don't like metal music." She shrugged.

ooc: stupid a** first post is stupid. x.x

Ashton

Ashton was slightly startled when a girl came up and started talking to him. He quickly placed her name. Starlie. She was one of the few people he could call a friend and one of the few names he knew. He had heard of the rumors though he didn't try too hard to keep up with them. he had too many other things on his mind He listened to her go on about Shakespear and then she handed him a flier. He looked at it for a moment and thought. "I don't think i have any plans tomorrow. I should be there as long as i don't get too beat up at my competition tonight." he said laghing.

Myka shrugged to herself as she gazed at the floor. "Just an offer." she said to her friend. The sound of ice cream made Myka's stomach growl quietly. "Sounds great." she said, hopping up from the couch. She was almost the opposite of her best friend. While Myka was talkative and a bit spazzy, Edele was quiet and calm. Myka smiled at her friend as she gathered her stuff up in her bag and headed downstairs. Myka slipped a five on the counter and showed Miss Dane the book she was buying. Myka was walking backwards as she eyed the staircase for her friend to show. Myka let out a small 'eep' as she bumped into something, or someone. Myka turned around and looked at the person she bumped into. Of course it was going to be Ashton. Myka looked at the guy as she stood their, a bit dumbfounded. "I'm sorry." she said smiling apologetically. Myka's eyes then went to the girl in front of him. "Hey Starlie." she waved at the familiar girl. Myka's bangs hung slightly in her eyes, making her swipe them away. Brown eyes looked between the two, a small smile on her lips. Her eyes then went back to the staircase. "Edele! Hurry up!" she whined jokingly. She only was like this around Edele, and her family at times. Myka turned back to Ashton and Starlie and tilted her head at the papers. "Whats up?" she asked, looking at the flier. She caught a few words from it, but not a whole lot.

Edele smiled when Myka said she wanted to get ice cream. So, as Myka went out the door, Edele took her time putting the books back into her bag. She stood up, putting her bag over her shoulder and looked around the room a bit. This was supposed to be a space where Edele could go and get away from her problems. Instead, it just seemed to make things worse. Shoulders slumping a bit, Edele headed toward the door. Myka seemed to be getting impatient. As she walked down the staircase, Edele noticed that Ashton, the new guy, and Starlie, the resident weirdo, were downstairs too. That was.. different. Ususally only a select few were found at Dusty Books. Well, that was fine. Edele walked over and stood next to Myka, giving the other two a slight nod of greeting. "I'm here now," she said unnecessarily. "Hi guys," she said, not wanting to be rude to the other two.

Raynie held her breath as the bell rang and bolted out the door as fast as she could. She wanted to avoid her best friend, and the love of her life as much as possible. She let the tears fall as the thought came to her mind. Raynie went to her locker and jumped when she heard a skateboard roll past her. She laughed despite her feelings, Auggie of course. Raynie closed her eyes and tried to keep herself together. She knew she didn't want to go home, and she also didn't want to be anywhere near Jay. Which was ridiculous but what are you supposed to do when your in love with him right? Raynie went out the doors of the school wishing she could leave her feelings here. Then she finally decided to head to the park, hoping she could clear her mind on the swings. Getting there she saw Auggie and Alex talking. Sucking in a breath Raynie prayed that the skater wouldn't see her. Then she realized that today she was wearing this outfit and to top everything her hair was in fact whiteish purple with a septum piercing. SO avoiding Auggie was out of the question. "Well here we go.. Moment of truth. Let's see if I can do this." She tried as much as she could to walk past the both of them without, ya know being noticed, which was probably next to nill.

Ashton

Ashton turned around when someone bumped into him. He noticed that it was Myka and he smiled at her. "Oh nothing much. i was just telling Starlie about my competition tonight." he said "if you don't got any planes you guys can come watch me if you want." He then looked at his watch. "Wow. i should probably pay for this stuff and get home so i can head over. I need to warm up before hand. If you guys want to come it'll be at 7." He said paying for his book and heading out the door.

Damon already had his earphones plugged in before he got to his locker. He of course blasted his music, drowning out the background noises. He racked his brain for ideas of what to do next. He looked at his phone and remembered a new release of his favorite band was out today. Of course he had to go to the music store. Maybe even rent a movie or two. He had the weekend to himself again, so why not enjoy good music and movies? They sold good candy there too, so he might grab a few things. Damon grabbed a pen and wrote on his hand 'Candy <3' so he wouldn't forget. He smiled and set his pen back in his locker then shut it. He turned the knob to lock it before heading off to the doors. He slung his backpack over and across his chest and walked out the front doors. He saw the back of Edele going towards Memory Lane, probably to the bookstore. He twisted his mouth glancing to the side to see Alex staring at the same person. Damon frowned slightly and watched his brother walk towards the park. He was going through a rough patch right now, and Damon didn't know what to do to help. Alex might get mad if he talked to Edele. Damon shrugged his shoulders and headed into town on foot.

Damon whistled along to the song as he walked down the sidewalk and towards the video/music store. Stereo Lights was the name of the store and of course it was on of his favorite places to hangout. It was an older and less updated version of Radio Shack, just with movies and music. They held old retro music and stereos. Damon got himself a large boombox that is in perfect working condition. He found a way to transfer a lot of music to cassette tapes, though it cost him a lot of money to do it. Damon slid the earphones out of his ears and stuffed them into his pocket. A familiar ring was heard over his head as he opened the glass door and walked inside. He waved to the owner who was behind the counter. He headed straight to the new releases and smiled. Even though this place wasn't very updated, they always carried new releases. Damon's fingers grabbed a CD and smiled. His day had been made. Damon took the CD with him as he scanned the movies. What was he in the mood for. He stopped and twisted his mouth. He really didn't know.

With a small sigh, Damon scanned the many shelves of movies, still not knowing what he wanted to get. He glanced at his hand and smiled then. He had almost forgotten about the candy. He made his way to the front and picked out a ton of his favorite candy then set the CD and snacks on the glass counter. "Save these for me. I don't have enough hands." he chuckled as he headed back to the movies. His brown eyes looked around, looking at each and every movie. Some he had seen too many times, other he couldn't be bothered to see. Some were good, but not good enough to watch again, and then he had the cheesy movies which made him laugh constantly. He shook his head moving to the next aisle.

Lee Hae Chul let out a small, relieved sigh. Free, at last. School was now over and he was to go back 'home'. His homestay parents were very lenient, laid-back and luckily for him, Korean as well.. He had a curfew of 11pm, same as their own children. Usually, he would have just gone 'home', studied a bit and finished his homework; then maybe watch some TV or go on his laptop. It depended on his mood, really.

At the moment, he was in the mood for some coffee. American style coffee was rather different than back home in Korea, not that he was surprised about that or anything. here they had fancy things with whipped cream, cinnamon, chocolate or caramel sauce and a fair amount of other toppings. Frappucinos, Cappuccinos, different lattes; it was insane.

As Haechul entered Rachel's Cafe, he walked up to the front and stood in line. Once it was his turn, he ordered his grande hazelnut americano coffee, and couldn't help but notice Nicole; a beautiful, amazing girl he had met at school. "Hi, Nicole." Everytime he spoke English, Haechul was incredibly thankful that his father kept sending him to study abroad. He hated being the new kid, but his English was far more advanced than any of his friends back home. He had been shipped off to Canada, and the United States a fair amount of times, and it wouldn't surprise him if his father sent him here for collage and/or university.

[ooc: Outfit is in side picturee. Hope it's okay! ]
