Mel laughed "You are too distracted by the auras you are getting here, they wont touch you because they are not your gift. Look more inside yourself and you will see if there is a touch of magic in you."

"He could only be a conductor of it you know like water is a conductor. Maybe the reason he could enchant the goggles was because he can intensify the magic with out really being one with the gift?" Hernando offered

"No I think there is more there than he realizes."Mel brushed a strand of her dark brown hair from her face. "Just look inside your self" She said again

Koal sighed, "But it's not just auras controlled by others. It's the natural magic that resides here. I may not be able to manipulate it like the people of Vea, but it shouldn't be avoiding me like some sort of plague." He continued to the move his hand around, watching the magic move away from him. "No, it's more like magnetic force. This is very interesting." He added his other hand to the play and attempted to trap some of the magic between his hands.

Mel frowned."Interesting indeed. I am not sure I could give you an answer to that." She replied as she finished off her breakfast. She sat in silence wondering what could be the problem. Maybe he didn't have the gift at all then. So what could it be? "I am sorry I cannot give you an answer." She said. "If you will excuse me I need to start cleaning up." She stood and started picking up the empty plate left on the table and taking them into the kitchen.
Nakaru shifts in his generously given bed, he had gone to sleep after arriving with her, saying he was dead tired, but now his much needed rest was being tormented by a common occuring nightmare. "You killed them, it's your fault, you cursed yourself by leaving your family to die." A dark and low voice seems to say into his ear, his eyes open, he looks around, a dark shadow stands at the foot of his bed.
Nakaru looks at himself, his pistol barrel pressed against the side of his head, he appears puzzled and confused. This changes to a glare, he begins firing out at the shadow, but the bullets lodge into the wall and a mirror.
He rolls out of bed, the shadow begins moving toward's him, his first instinct is to run out the door, the shadow stops following when it reaches the middle of the hall. Nakaru looks where he is, the lobby, he breathes heavily, his face pale from fear.

Mel had come running, her pony tail flying wildly behind her, as she comes to a halt in front of Nakaru. "What is going on?" She asked her green eyes wide, with surprise. "I heard gun shots." She noted the fear on his pale face and looks past him towards the direction he had come from. "Nakaru are you alright?" If he had not recognized her because her appearance had changed, he would know her know from the use of his name. She did not wait much longer to find out, something had disturbed him, had frightened him and it had come from his room. Nothing should have been in there but him. What ever had caused the disturbance, it was playing a foolish game, this was a neutral zone, no one could attack. She stopped running when she reached his room, her eyes looking around, she saw the bullet holes and the shattered mirror, but she saw nothing else, at least she saw nothing yet. But she felt a presence, something that should not be here. Shadow soul, what was one of those things doing here. "Come out!" She growled as she looked around the room.

Nakaru looked at her, he couldn't recognize her at first, but then it struck him. His heart raced rapidly, it hadn't been in his room, it felt like something was heavy on his chest, and butterflies fluttered in his stomach. The man stared at Mel, his two multi-colored eyes got glossy as if about to shed tears, almost as if in a trance.

The thing didnt come out, the presence vanished after a few moments of her being in the room, she ran out and came back to him. "Nakaru? Tell me what happened..." She placed her hands on his shoulders, she stared into his eyes. "I need to know what it did..." Her tone was urgent.
"They came during the night, while I wasn't there.. I'm.. So sorry." Nakaru says, he steps forward, he wraps his arms around her, hugging her tight. 'Thank you, stranger. Now in this neutral zone, I am not longer under the pressures of the natural world.' A voice says into her ear, while Nakaru begins crying. To him Mel looked like his wife who had been killed, a ruse put upon him by this entity. "I missed you, so very much."

"E-Eh?" She blinked in surprised when hugged her."Missed me? Nakaru, we just met last night....How can you miss me that quickly?" She pulled back to look at him in confusion, then looked around for the voice that had whispered in her ear what was that...who was that? she wondered. "Ah...Don't cry Nakaru....everything is allright....Tell me what happened in there..." She pointed to his room
Nakaru blinks, looking around, everything returns to normal, or so it seems. He looks at Mel, not noticing a black shadow figure caressing him from behind, resting what looks like it's head on his shoulder. "I don't remember.. " He says, the figure looks female-like, it disperses to nothing as he walks back, rubbing his eyes.

She blinked in confusion then looked around when the shadow vanished, she follows him hesitantly. "You dont remember...? You came running out of here, and then...i think you thought i was someone else..."

After having seconds, Koal decided to look for Rumiko. He had some questions to ask her about what he had seen, about leasing books from the library, and about the area around the inn. It was about time that he started to explore the world a little and get his bearings, but if he was going to travel through the underground world of bounty hunting in Vea, his canon would need a small upgrade. So here he was wandering through the labyrinth that was the inn, searching for the Mistress.

Rumiko was standing by one of the windows looking out into the garden behind the house. She looked over when she heard footsteps and smiled a little when she saw Koal coming. She knew he had questions for her. "Yes Koal?" She asked with a smile.

Koal smiled, "Not much gets past you it seems." He walked over to join Rumiko in looking out of the window. It was a glorious day. The garden was bright and colorful, if he didn't know better, Koal would have thought that he was still in Thea. "You know for a realm teeming with magic and 'myths', it's really hard to distinguish it from Thea." He sighed as he continued to look at the view. Silence swept over the area as the two of them admired the the morning. Finally after a few minutes Koal spoke up again. He somehow knew that what he saw had to stay silent, but he couldn't help but be curious, "She's not even normal by Vean standards is she?" He asked casually, not expecting much of an answer.

Rumiko turned her face slowly in his direction. "Mel you mean?" She asked. She really held hardly any expression on her face. "What did you see when you put those enchanted goggles on?" She relaxed herself again and waited quietly for his answer. She already knew what he must have seen but she wanted him to tell her.

He was getting bored with standing around outside the inn, he should go inside. Rumiko would not be so quick to throw him out. She must have known what had happened, but surely she would not hate him? He had done the right thing when he left the way he did, he knew that. Rumiko must have understood, for she had not had anyone come kill him, and kill him she could had she been angry about what had happened. But she must have decided it was not her place to get involved, for once. The mischievous woman had a tendency to get into business she wasnt needed in. Rumiko would welcome him, but would mel be inviting? Would she even want to see him? With a sigh he headed to the door. Hopefully he could enter without running into mel. Quietly he opened the door and looked around Rumiko wasnot there, he would wait for her in her study. On silent feet he headed down the hall into the old woman's antique inspired office.

The old woman did indeed know that the man had entered, she looked past Koal for a moment to stare down the hall. Her office was in that direction, she knew he was there now waiting but he would wait a little longer. She wanted to hear Koal out first. She had not expected this man to come back, she wouldnot turn him away, but how would mel feel about seeing this old friend of hers? This is about to get interesting. She thought.
