Gender: Male

Physical appearance: Caucasian (slightly pale), 6'0", short ruddy brown hair, light grey (nearly white) eyes with a tinge of blue. He has a lanky build but not frail and being an inventor he doesn't care to much about his appearance. His hair is normally a disheveled spiky mess.

Clothing of choice: [During travel] A long drab duster coat, modified aviator goggles (wore on top of his head), and black metal plated boots. Under his coat he normally wears a white button-down shirt with long sleeves, a leather brigadine chest piece, a custom gun holster for with the capacity for ammo on the chest strap and a various pouches around the waist strap, a drab brown vest with an assortment of pockets, and light khaki slacks held up by black suspenders (normally hidden by the brigadine). [Casual] He prefers victorian style wear, but you rarely see him wearing a suit jacket.

Weaponry of choice: Any one of his various inventions, but he prefers his Steam Cannon Mark II. He also carries various acids, volatile chemicals, and custom explosives.

Race: Human (unique)

Abilities: Spark: His intellectual genius possesses him like a separate personality, allowing him to learn and work at high efficiency and speed. This has been known to manifest as sleepwalking.

Personality: Light, carefree, sarcastic, and above all else eccentric. With the exception of a random lab partner here and there he prefers to be surrounded by his "toys" as he calls them. However, if the situation demands it, he can be sociable, though he is proned to get caught up in his own thoughts and completely forget his surroundings.

Biography:
Koal is what some have come to call a Spark. From an early age his parents noticed his gift (and obsession) for engineering and were proud to support his ability. His childhood was a rather sheltered one (per his own choice), spent tinkering and studying under private tutors. His father was a rather successful scientist turned businessman, so funds were never an issue. When he was 16 his mother fell victim to a mysterious illness and within a year all of the funds for Koal's engineering and education went to finding a cure for his mother. Within four years his father had managed to drain all his company's funds and his own only to watch his wife die. Having lost the will to live his father followed soon after, while Koal set off on by himself. Now he travels from place to place setting up shop here and there and collecting bounties where he can find them.
The pin-stripe boy smirks up at her, a bit of a perverted look gleamed in his eye. "Gonna make this worth my while?" He asks, grinning sarcastically, but as quick as this moment came, it was gone, and time to get back to business.

Nakaru then glares as he gets to his feet, a damned bounty hunter, someone he should not get into a conflict with. As much as he wanted to begin letting out his frustration with violence, he had a 'beautiful woman to entertain', so he merely lit up a cancer-stick and brushed himself off.

But a problem occurs, he recognizes the men he ties up, bar buddies from his usual establishment, which was always full of crooks and killers.. Like him. "Mind telling my what these guy's are wanted for?" He asks, two stern eyes stare out from under the fedora.

Mel lifts a brow at him."Sure I can go ahead and drop you off at a brothel, if you want." She replies with a laugh. The her eyes turn towards the strange man tying up the other two. She looks from Nakaru to the other man ready to jump in a stop a fight if she has too

Koal's ear caught the sound of a stranger and looked over from the unconscious men. He tilted his head to the side and and his hand reached up to scratch an invisible itch. "Oh..." He said in rather comical surprise. "When did you get here?" He had clearly forgotten about as he was prone to do. After a moment's pause the man's question registered, "Ah, these three?" He pulled the wanted poster back out and took a moment to read it. "Arson, theft, and suspicion of murder it seems. Don't really care myself. All I see is a fortunate happenstance that I ran into them. Now I can eat, sleep, and maybe find somewhere to set up a tinker shop. My toys haven't had a good place to stay in a long time. Came across a string of bad luck recently. Been on the road for years now and not a single job has gone right..." He continued to go on in this fashion, rambling about random failed jobs and engineering mumbo-jumbo.

Mel looked at the stranger in the duster coat , she lifted a slender brow then looked at the man in the suit and shrugged as the other went on about bounty jobs gone wrong. A siren in the distance caught her attention she turned and looked in the direction it was coming from then to the dance club and cursed under her breath. They had to get out of there and fast. She looked to the man in the duster coat and walked towards him, reaching inside her shirt collar from a small card. "Here this is where you can find a place to stay. Sorry we can't stay and chat." She handed him the card, the paper was silver with the words Vea's Rose written in black ink. She glanced once more toward the sound of sirens as they were getting closer and said. "To find your way there, just call out Vea's Rose and you will be there." She turned quickly heading back to her stranger in the pin striped suit and looped her arm through his. "Come we need to get out of here." The sirens were closer and people were coming out of the club, wide eyed and fearful. The news about the man with his brains splattered all over the bathroom wall must have finally made its way through the club. She urged him away from the crowd towards the alley way.

"...as it turned out the bounty was for Mrs. Longbottom, not mister. Fortunately a bounty had gone out for her husband as I was searching for her, so killing him didn't get me in too much trouble." Koal laughed at the recollection for a few seconds before he realized someone was talking to him. His hand looked down to the card in the strange girl's hand. "Uh... who are you again?" He asked. He was rather confused by everything that she said, but he had heard something about a place to stay, so he took the card. His ears then caught the police sirens, "Great! It seems the police here aren't lazy slobs here." His head turned back towards where the girl was but she was gone, as well as the man with her. "Eh, oh well" He stuffed the card in one of his vest pockets then went back to securing his marks.

It didn't take long for the police to arrive at the scene. A squad car pulled up in front of the dance club along with an ambulance. Immediately two men stepped out of the car, one was your average everyday patroller, but the other man appeared to be seasoned, most likely the chief of police. "Alright probie, be on the lookout for any perps. They've probably fled by now, but that is no reason to let down your guard. Pistol ready!" The two men pulled out their guns and proceeded cautiously towards the club.

Koal's face grew obscured with confusion. "Wait they aren't here for these three?!" He scratched his head for a moment before it dawned on him. "Those two seemed to be very wary of the police. Could there've been an incident involving them in this club?" He shrugged and looked down at the three men. "Oh well, I guess I should approach them. Unarmed most likely." Koal knelt down next to his case and replaced his gun in it's designated slot. He then pulled out the wanted poster and a bounty license. "Excuse me gentlemen!" He called out as he walked towards them hands in the air.

(I'll finish a little bit later)

(alright)

Mel hurried them down the alley way she looked around and pulled Nakaru behind a dumpster, muttering something under her breath. The minute the words were out the wall seemed to split, she grabbed his arm and pulled him through the opening. They now stood on a path in front of a white house with pale blue shutters. Mel smiled a little and looked to Nakaru. "Welcome to Vea's Rose." She replied and gestured to the inn. It is a safe haven, and it wouldn't matter really those Thean Cops wouldn't be able to find us here anyway." She took a couple of steps further then turned to face him. "I forgot to give you my name, I'm Mel, nice to meet you stranger." She walked back to him holding out her hand in greeting

(and to finish)

The chief snapped to his right when he heard Koal's voice. "Hold it! Don't move a muscle, sir." He had his pistol aimed at Koal's head. "Who are you and what are you doing here?" He could tell the man before him was not your ordinary civilian. He could also tell that this man was not from around there.

Koal sighed, "Look, sir. I am unarmed and have my papers right here. So if you could please stop pointing that thing at my head. My brain is worth more than your life I am afraid." Koal reached his hand out with the license waiting for the chief to take it and stop holding him at gun point.

The chief kept his gun on Koal but he took the license. He took a moment to examine it, then looked back at Koal. "So, you are a class 3 bounty hunter. Dr. Koal Katsukova? What exactly are you a doctor of then?" He asked his trigger hand had relaxed a bit at this point.

Koal chuckled, "That would be a doctor of science, engineer and inventor. Now could you please stop pointing that at me, I swear to you I am harmless. However the three men incapacitated men behind me are not harmless, well not if they weren't unconscious." He handed the wanted poster to the chief and put his hands back down. "If you need I can haul them to your vehicle, while you check things out in there." He smiled at the man motioning to the club door.

(or not... *sigh*)

The chief took a look at the poster and a wide smile spread over his face. "So you bagged the Cortez brothers. I have been wanting to lock those three up for a good while now." He motioned to the other officer and both of them lowered their weapons. "Alright, but have you seen anyone fleeing or just leaving this club in the last half hour?" The chief inquired of Koal. It was now apparent that something happened inside the club.

Koal shrugged, "Honestly sir, I was too busy tussling with those brothers to notice anyone leaving this place." He, of course, was lying. It was odd for him to lie like that, but for some reason he felt the need to protect the young girl that had handed him her card.

The chief sighed, "Oh well, at least we have these three criminals captured. Three that have been a thorn in my side for years." He motioned to the other officer to come forward. "Alright probie, I will probably be here for a little while questioning patrons and staff about all that happened here tonight, so I want you to escort Dr. Katsukova back to the station with these three criminals." He handed the wanted poster to the new officer. "Be sure to fill-out a bounty claim form for the man. I am sure he will want his money tonight." The chief turned his attention back to Koal, "You're in luck, Doc. We just happen to have a 24 hour bounty office here in town. It's not far from the station actually."

Koal smiled and extended his had to the chief, "It has been a pleasure, sir. I thank you for your cooperation, and don't worry, I'll lookout for the probie here. Make sure he is doing everything correctly." He grinned mockingly at the young officer and motioned for the man to follow him.

The chief laughed and shook Koal's hand, "Alright, Doc. I hope you stick around for awhile. There are a few more elusive criminals around and we could use your expertise in busting them." He handed Koal's license back and continued into the club to investigate whatever had happened.

Back inside the club Mel's friends were being questioned by some of the officers that had already come inside. The girl with blue hair shook her head."No...I have no idea what happened. The music was so loud I don't think anyone could have heard the shot. "She offered the cop a sheepish smile, her nerves were shot and she frightened. when man asked her if she saw anyone suspicious she shook her head again. "Nope."

"Is there anyone else who was with you and your group tonight?"

"Yeah Li was. She left a little while ago though.Didnt see her leave." One of the guys replied.

"I did." The girl shot her friend a look then turned back to the officer."She left about an hour and half ago maybe earlier than that. She met up with some sexy guy, he had been sitting at the bar not far from where she was sitting. I saw her get up and head to the exit, he followed her. When I went to see what she was doing. She said she was leaving and looked the man up and down. Guess she wanted a night out with a hot guy. He looked alright to me. " The girl laughed a little.

"Not something that doesnt happen all the time. Kids going off for a 'night out' " The cop said. "Thank you for your time. And be careful going home. We still haven't found the killer." The cop tipped his hat and went on to the next witnesses

The chief entered the club to find that some of his force was already set to questioning the patrons and staff. They must have entered while he was talking to Koal. The questioning seemed to be under control; He was pleased, so the chief walked back to the murder scene. "Well that might ruin diner for me." He mused as he looked upon the scene. "Well I guess it's time to work then." He slipped on a pair of white gloves from a box in his pocket and began looking around the room. "Well there are definitely no signs of struggle, so the attacker took the man by surprise." He said after a brief look around. He then turned his attention to the body. "Well cause of death seems to be a shot to the head, but the normal tests wouldn't be a bad idea." He rolled up the sleeves and pant legs looking for any other signs of identification. As he rolled up the left sleeve he groan, [******** me..." The chief sighed as he looked at the tattoo on the man's left forearm. He picked up his radio and called back to the station, "Hey Vanessa, I need you to get Jack on the phone for me." It took a moment for the line to connect, but soon the voice of Jack was heard over the phone, "Jack, I need you down here at Club Zero. It looks like our victim was a Dead Rose. Yeah, he has the tat... Ok I'll see you soon." The chief walked out of the bathroom, he pulled off his gloves and took a seat at the bar. "Can I get a root beer please." He threw a few bucks on the counter and waited.

"One root beer coming up." The bartender looked at the chief."You haven't found a girl with short black hair tipped blood red have you? " He asked concern in his voice. He looked towards the bathroom where forensics were coming and going."I looked for her and couldn't find her. I am worried....she didn't look so hot, like she was fighting to stay awake... "

The chief looked up at the barkeep, "There wasn't anyone back there, and no one was reported leaving except for some Li girl." He sloshed the root beer around in his glass. It was a habit of his to fidget in some way when he thought, "Did this girl come in with a large group, one of them a girl with blue hair?" If this Li had been around the restrooms when the man was killed it's possible she was a witness, a victim, or even a perpetrator.

Over at the police station Koal was standing over the probie's shoulder rather amused as he instructed him on how to properly fill-out a bounty claim ticket. "Lastly it is a class C bounty, so mark the appropriate box, stamp it, and sign it where is says witness." As the man did what he was told, Koal made it a point to discretely watch the rest of the station for anything that might relate to the situation back at the club. He was curious, especially if he was going to stay at an establishment with someone who was possibly involved. He noticed a rather out of place man walk out of one of the offices. He had a very disturbed, very serious air about him. From the look, the walk, and the air about this man, Koal knew that he was probably gang homicide. "Good, everything looks to be in order, now be sure those three get some sort of medical attention. I gather they will be laid up for awhile. Other than that keep up the good work and maybe I'll see you around." He shook the man's hand and took the slip from him. Next stop the bounty office.

"I dont really know who she came with...She was sitting at the bar most of the night...Didn't know her name, but I guess Li is it....I sent security to find her but she vanished....It looked as if she had drank something drugged....I turned around one time and the next I see her stumbling....I saw the guy...the one in the bathroom follow her.......Now the girl is missing.....I swear she looked drugged..." He looked down at the counter.

"Hey chief." One of the forensics walked up with a plastic bag. "Looks like our stiff was carring date rape drugs." He tossed the chief the bag."Found these in his clothes.Thought I would bring them to you."

Probie nodded. "Have a good evening Doc. Glad you caught these guys."

The chief looked at the pills and sighed, "Wonderful, so our stiff slips this girl a roofie follows her to the restroom as she becomes all woozy and somewhere between following her and assaulting her, he gets shot between the eyes. This is going to be a long week. Bag'em n' tag'em, boys." The chief finished off his soda and put a couple of extra dollars on the bar along with his card. "Sorry for all the trouble, sir. If you remember anything, anything give me a call." He was about head outside to wait for Jack when a thought crossed his mind. "Oh, three questions. Where was this girl sitting, has the bar been cleaned since she was last at the bar, and was there anyone else sitting with the stiff anyone at all?" If he was lucky they could find some finger prints and possibly confirm his suspicions.

Koal opened the door to the bounty office. He enjoyed hunting bounties but he hated claiming them; Too many questions, too much gossip. He walked up to the lady at the desk. "I am here to collect on the Cortez brothers. Just dropped them off at the police station. Here's the ticket." He placed the ticket and his license on the counter and waited.

The lady looked up at him with a raised eyebrow, "The Cortez brothers huh? Nice job." She took the ticket and his license. After imputing Koal's data into the computer, the lady's jaw dropped. "You're the Doc?" She extended a trembling hand to him, "It is such an honor to have you here, sir. Such and honor. Your handling of the Moretti bounty is legendary."

Koal sighed and shook her hand trying to be nice. This was why he hated bounty offices to most. He had no room in his life for a morbid fan club. It was always "I admire you" or "I loved how you handled the Moretti's", it was rather annoying considering that the bounty that made his name famous was collected out of sheer luck. He lost his first model of the Steam Cannon on that bounty. He was fortunate to have survived the blast himself. "Thank you, Ma'am, but if you could process the bounty I am rather tired and need the cash for a place to stay." Thankfully, she was rather understanding of the whole situation, but that didn't stop her from gushing while he was waiting on the computer to finish it's processes. So, 20 minutes later he was out the door and $50,000 dollars richer. Now it was time to find that inn the girl spoke of.
