Janice stood between the two, "Listen to me, both of you," she said, turning to the blond, "She's telling the truth, I see auras and they have a characteristic flair when someone is attempting to deceive you." she stated, after all, what did this affect her? "Listen, the first trimester was hell for me and I am human, but for you guys, well, it takes all over the place to a new level. Her ovulation might have been the day before, it might have happened just after her change, I don't know, your best bet is hoping the Strigori have some relative that can help you." she said, after all, she knew that the whole thing was going to be messy, but she wanted to help, she had been through this.

His eyes flashed and remained a glowing, angry red, shining brilliantly in the low lights of the hospital's hall. "How the ******** is this our situation?!" he growled, jerking his hand in the direction of her belly. She even admitted it herself. She should not be showing symptoms already. Not if it was his. And yet she was continuing in the lie. He could handle the pregnancy. Even the potential of raising someone else's child, if they could figure out how to get her out of the arranged marriage she was already a part of, he could handle it. But faced with the lies that she was trying so desperately to cling to... And for what? To save face?

His scarlet eyes snapped to Janice as she tried to reason with him, try to offer some sort of proof that the child could be his. "The day she ovulated has nothing to do with this!! The fact is that our first time together was SIX DAYS AGO!" he said, his voice raising in anger. Was this witch really going to try and cover her lies for her too? "Even if we assume she got pregnant then, six days is NOT ENOUGH time to be showing symptoms!!"

"Am I really the a*****e here?" he hissed, jerking his head back to Serenity, glowering through his blonde and scarlet bangs at the woman he was really starting to wonder if he knew at all. This just ripped over everything that she had tried to convince him she was. His heart ached with a pain that it had known only twice before. Once when his mother died, and once when they had thought Kaia had been slaughtered. "All I wanted to know was who it belonged to. But since you won't even admit to doing something to get pregnant... Was I just a backup option? A just in case...." His tone turned hurt for a moment. Had she just been using him? He bit his lip hard to keep from acting on the impulses he had as he pulled the keys to his bike out of his pocket, turning to leave. "Just stop with the lies!," he whispered, starting down the hall.

Serenity sighed.
"A back up for WHAT exactly Dapon?" She tried to ask, but he walked away. She shook her head. "Whatever. I don't need him." she said. "Janice. I need to get back to my sister. My situation is nothing. Lili is hurt and freaked out though. But I would appreciate it if you could help me find someone who will know what's going on for sure." she said, biting her lip. She was on the verge of tears. "I'm not lying by the way...I've not been with anyone but him in that long. If I am pregnant, its his. But...I know its impossible." She said, brushing away the tear that slid down her face angrily. "But I don't have time for relationships anyways." She said. She didn't. That's right. She was a doctor. on call all the time. Focusing on other people being sick, and healing others. She didn't have time for anything serious. She turned and opened the door to Lili's room, hating the fact that another tear managed to slide its way down her face before she brushed it away.

She went to Lili's bed and looked at her.
"I'm fine." She said softly.

Janice sighed, "Didn't morning sickness hit harder for your mother when she was pregnant with Tsukiko Seamus?" she asked.
Seamus nodded, "According to my parents, the first two weeks are more like five days or so, something about making room for the change in diet mother needed." he answered, still not sure what to think.
Watching Serenity head inside, she sighed, looking to Seamus quietly.
The vampire sighed, giving his brother an apologetic look before going after the blond, "Listen man, I don't know your background, hell, I only just came back into the country, let alone this state, this evening. However, there is something humans don't get in this situation that we do, my mother called it 'settlement sickness', the mother's body has to adapt to process human food to nourish the baby, and pregnancy cravings hit like a rock as a result. What Serenity is going through is her body telling her to stop feeding and start eating for the child." he explained.

Her sister's abrupt sickness and departure had lured Lili out of her freaked out state. She was still exhausted, fighting the effects of an all nighter and the drugs being pumped into her system, but she did her bed to keep focused and awake.

The secretive conversation might have been taken out to the halls, but that did not mean that Lili could not hear snippets of the conversation as it passed. And what she gathered was astounding. Serenity had hooked up with a man and had gotten pregnant by him. But he did not think it could be his, and, to be entirely honest, a part of her agreed with him. Six days was too short of a time to be showing symptoms of a pregnancy. But she knew her sister well enough, even if they had been separated for most of the last years, to know that she would not lie about something like this. It just was not like her. At all. So if Serenity said he was the only man she'd had in over year... then that was the truth. The end.

But the man didn't seem to like that. Most of his words sounded garbled through the door, but she could tell when he left, and Serenity tried to hold face together before coming back in. One glance at her sister told Lili everything she needed to know. "You love him. Don't you..." she whispered, grabbing her sister's arm with her own bandaged ones, and pulled her down to envelop her in as tight a hug as she could managed in her tired, weakened, and still freaked out (though she was struggling to supress that part) state. "He's jsut scared, Ren. Just give him time, okay? He'll come back" she said quietly, amused at how their roles had reversed in such a short amount of time.

Without strength and courage it's really hard to perform at the highest levels of international figure skating, because you're alone on the ice and you only have seven minutes over two nights to prove yourself. ~Scott Hamilton

Serenity looked at her sister, and felt her resolve crumble. When Lili asked if she loved him, she nodded, and she was pulled down into a hug. She laid down on the bed, and closed her eyes and trembled, but she wouldn't cry. she refused to cry. If she cried, that meant Dapon had walked away - it would feel to real. She nodded at her sisters reassurance. She smiled a bit, not realizing a few more tears had escaped down her face, but her sister comforted her. She didn't feel sick now, being hugged tightly by Lili. Her scent was comforting. She hugged her sister back.
"Yah. Everything will be okay sis...you will win sections, then nationals. Then you'll get first place. And me...I'll have my baby. And either its father will realize it's his, or he won't. Either way, we move on." She said, hugging her sister, feeling tired all of a sudden.

They stayed like that for a while. She realized that Lili fell asleep, and Serenity smiled. It'd been a while since one of her siblings had gone to sleep in her arms. She gave Lili's forehead a gentle kiss, and slipped gracefully out of the bed and resettled her sister in on the bed more comfortably. She would arrange for transport later, or even take the girl to the spa herself. But for the grace of the Goddess, let her sleep. She turned and walked out of the hall, wondering if Janice was still here. Her eyes wondered, looking for the witch who'd healed her sister.

Janice looked over to see Serenity come out, "Seamus has gone after your friend, truth is Serenity, this is when your body starts seeking human food again, being a doctor, you know that a baby needs nutrition that your new diet won't provide." she stated, "Naturally, as a result, you'll be feeling a bit messed up at this point."

Eichmann looked at his brother, hearing him say that he went to London. He kept his hood up, but only because they were in public. He would have loved the tower of London? Unlike his other siblings, his birthplace: Berlin, and Maine were the only two places he had ever been to. "...y-you got me something?" he asked with a little bit of surprise. He didn't get gifts often. But then he watched as the girl his brother had been with, Serenity, and the other man come out into the hallway. He and Seamus were close enough to hear what was going on. Serenity was...pregnant? He watched the scene unfold before him, Dapon at Serenity since apparently he couldnt be the father. Eichmann gulped under his hood, it was just one bad thing after another. He looked at the girl and then his brother, listening to his brother explain that the vampire body is different form a humans. He kept silent as always, not having really any input to the conversation.

Serenity looked at Janice, and felt a chasm inside her of loneliness.
"I see. Thats why the smell of blood makes me want to..." She trailed off and sighed. "This is going to be rough, isn't it?" She asked. Turning to Eichman she smiled. "Reign check on those drinks?" She said apologetically. "Unless its juice...or coffee. Or something." She said, grinning. "Here. Just call me when you want to go out for them." She took her card out of her pocket and handed it to him.

She felt exhausted, and her face looked it. She wanted to curl up in a ball and cry. She just felt inconsolable. Her love had walked away, thinking her a liar. She was pregnant. She could hardly believe that. It had only been two weeks ago that she'd worried she'd never have kids now. She hugged herself. She just wanted someone, anyone. One of her siblings. She blinked, and thought about Harper. Before, she would have been able to talk to him about this...before they had their fight. She thought about the jade heart that was still in her room on her desk. Screw it. She was calling her brother.

Turning to Janice she gave a smile.
"My sister is asleep. When you can move her, let me know. When she wakes up, tell her to please call me. I need to take care of some things." She pulled another card from her pocket, and handed it to her. "Thank you again. If you ever need me for anything, let me know." She said. "thank you so much." she said, as she pulled her cell phone out. "If you'll please excuse me." She walked down the hallway a bit, and opened her phone, dialing Harper's number, and putting it to her ear as it began to ring.

Aralyn nodded at Draikyn, but her eyes shifted back over to Avalon and Draikyn's brother. "You guys go ahead." She said, nodding towards the manor. "I'll catch up in a minute." Ryu looked between Aralyn and the other two, understanding in his eyes. He could read the red-headed vampiress like a book. She was feeling guilty for putting Draikyn in danger. He gave a cheesy grin, and gave Aralyn a little wink. "Ok. Don't be too long. We gotta get goin'." He turned to Draikyn and placed his arm around the other male's shoulders and guided him towards the Strigori manor, waving to Aralyn over his shoulder.

After getting most of the way up the drive, Ryu retracted his arm, figuring that was probably a good idea. He had a feeling Draikyn wasn't too fond of him, all things considering. Ryu hadn't even used his telepathy, and he felt pretty confident of his assumption. He glanced down at Draikyn, seeing that the Dante boy looked a little thinner. Ryu definately was, too. though Ryu didn't have the dark rings under his eyes like Draikyn did. He looked exahsted. "Hey, man, if you want, I can drive as long as I know where I'm going. That way I can sheild us all, too, and you and Aralyn can sleep in the back."

In the meantime, Aralyn stepped over to her sister, Avalon, and placed a hand on her shoulder. She gave her sister a look that clearly stated: "Be calm, now. All will be well." Aralyn gave Avalon's shoulder a gentle reasuring squeeze, then stepped forward towards Draikyn's brother. "Please rest assured that I will do everything in my power to make sure Draikyn stays safe while he is with me. I'll even lay down my life if I have to." Her scarlet eyes shone with determination as she awaited to hear what Draikyn's brother had to say.

Everything in him wanted to protest when Aralyn said that she was going to catch up in a minute. He, too, had seen the look on her face, the one indicating her guilt in what she imagined to be putting him in danger, but he had thought they had talked about it. Even if it was a dangerous situation, he trusted her. More than anything, and he wanted to be by her side to do what little he knew he could. But he also knew there was little to no convincing her of that. Still, he wanted to protest, but Ryu’s arm had slid around his shoulders, forcibly guiding him away. “Yes… don’t take too long, Aralyn” he repeated Ryu’s sentiment before allowing himself to be led away.

Eventually, the arm dropped away, but Draikyn kept his eyes carefully fixed towards the house. It wasn’t that Draikyn did not like the man walking beside him. If anything, he respected him as a fellow musician, and was grateful to him for saving his life that night that Aralyn almost drained him to replenish herself. It was the kiss that he had seen. Even if a huge part of him knew that Ryu was not in control of that now, he still resented the motion. He didn’t hold it against either of them, but he certainly was hurt by it. And having Ryu come along on their little adventure…? Well, Draikyn was unfortunately going to have a hard time not replaying the scene in his head simply because of proximity.

But his offer to crash in the back with Aralyn was tempting. He had gotten little sleep the night before because of those thugs who were trying their damnedest into bullying him to quit, and even less last night (maybe twenty minutes, he imagined, tops before Aralyn’s tumble from his windowsill had woken him). So yes, he was exhausted. And he supposed it was apparent even to this one that walked beside him. “I might have to take you up on that. I was thinking we could catch up with the symphony I temporarily joined when Aralyn… vanished…” he said quietly, the pain leaking into his voice for a moment before he managed to shake it off. “I’ll call Dr Mendrakas in a bit and get the exact address, but I do know they’re performing in Portland, Maine tonight.”

Once in the house, Draikyn nodded his head towards the Dante wing. “I need to get my bag and change. We can meet Aralyn in her room after that,” he said, turning on his heel to lead the way, not even thinking about, in his sleep deprived state, the way they had left his bedroom, complete with gouges in the headboard.

He growled low and menacingly in his throat when the other vampire, the one he did not recognize, decided to follow him outside, still trying to reason with him. He stood in the shade, thoroughly annoyed that he couldn't even walk away and get the hell out of here because the sun had decided to make an appearence. "It STILL shouldn't be telling her that already! Her body shouldn't even know its pregnant if its mine!"

He shook his head, sighing and staring out into the sun, wondering just how far he could get before the sun burnt him, quite literally, to a crisp. "It's not that I'm upset she's pregnant. Any child of hers I would gladly treat as my own. But if she's standing there, saying that there has never been anyone else in more than a year, then whose is it? I don't buy that whole immaculate conception story." Besides, he was starting to wonder, if there hadn't been another guy, as she claimed, had she gone through fertilization efforts? Solo ways to go through it? And then, if so, was he just a way to make sure that something would stick? The idea hurt him. The idea that maybe she was just using him. "With how far along she must be, the baby cannot be mine. It's just not possible."

Seamus listened, "Immaculate conception cracks aside, some believe the notion of vampires getting pregnant is impossible, and you're talking to someone who met a werewolf whose pregnancy lasted nine weeks. You're in a really screwed up world man." he countered. "Besides, I believe Janice, she has no reason to lie, especially since she knows about the engagements, and she says she sees no sign of deceit in Serenity. If you are that worried, give it about three weeks and Janice will be able to cast a spell that will confirm or deny it."

"Serenity's not a ******** werewolf!" he snapped. Honestly. Did he really think those words were consoling to him? That they would convince him that oh, Serenity couldn't possibly be lying to him, because he had seen some wierd pregnancies in his time. "She's a vampire! And barely one of those at that! Right around a week old." The myth of vampires getting pregnant had been disproven to him long ago. But the fact remained that six days was not enough time to be having symptoms. And nothing this man said to try and convince him otherwise.

The man continued, and mentioned the impending engagements that were bearing down on Serenity. Was that the father then? One of the Strigori? The b*****d who changed and then proceeded to ignore her to the point that she was beyond lonely? The glow in his eyes returned as his eyes narrowed, his hands balled, and his teeth clenched at the very thought of it. "What the hell does her knowing about the engagements have ANYTHING to do with the current situation?! I am not her betrothed! I just work for the family." Why would the woman feel obliged to tell him the truth anyways? If she was trying to help protect Serenity's lie, there would be none. "Cast her spell then. It will only confirm what I already know."

His scarlet eyes turned out to the sunlight once more. He was struggling to regain his control before he returned to the hospital room and regained his title of Maine's most notorious Hunter. He wanted to get away, before that happened, but how to get through the sun...?
