Ainsley was leaned against the brick wall of a very old building watching two teens with brightly colored hair. The female had pink hair that looked soft and fine like cotton candy. It reminded him of a trip to a carnival he had taken with his clan when he was very small. The thought was soothing and he very much liked the way it made him feel. The male sitting next to the pink hair girl had strikingly bright blue hair. . The pair looked incredibly out of place in this dusty old ghost town; though the group of teens as a whole pretty much looked out of place here. This used to be a tourist place but with everyone in the world obsessed with electronics, places like this were falling to ruins. It broke Ainsley’s heart to see such history left to fall apart with the very few people that cared doing everything they could to keep it alive. Some people were just not raised the way people used to be. There was no value in the past anymore.

His thoughts were getting away with him though so he focused back on the two sitting on the steps of the building he was leaning on. He was near enough to pick up bits of conversation, well that would have been if the two were having a conversation that anyone could here. From the looks of things they were passing a note rather than speaking to one another. That was rather interesting. He cocked his head as he watched the interaction. When the male passed the note back to the girl she looked very please and he handed her a beer. She seemed to struggle with opening it. Ainsley chuckled a little and shook his head. He wondered if maybe this was her first with the way she fumbled with the can. She spoke then and her speech was very strange. He realized by the way she mouthed the words like she was feeling them out that the girl must be deaf. No wonder they had been using a note.

The girl set the beer down then. Suddenly a crow swooped out of nowhere towards the two which sent the pink haired deaf girl flailing. Ainsley was not a big fan of birds and could understand why it had scared her so. The boy with her on the other hand seemed incredibly bothered by the fact that she had knocked into him the way she had. He had even shouted at her. That was when Ainsley noticed that the boy was blind. He moved his head about as though he were listening to the sound of the bird that had startled the girl rather than looking for the bird. Then he was laughing. Well that was not very nice now was it? Ainsley took a small step forward before decided to let it be and see how things played out a little further as he listened to the girl work out an apology. She must have realized than that he was laughing and for a moment she looked confused but then she was laughing right with him. This was all very strange to Ainsley. The blind leading the deaf? Wasn’t that some kind of proverb or something?

The laughter subsided and he watched the girl tip the beer into her mouth. It made him want a drink as well. The blue haired male finished off his drink rather quickly and stood, leaving the can on the steps he had been sitting on. He seemed to jerk his head in a gesture for the girl to come with him before heading in the direction of the old saloon. The building had been renovated to be a more restaurant style with a bar to better serve the types of tourists that came around these days. The place was locked up but this didn’t stop the male. Ainsley chuckled a little as the blind male kicked in the door. There were much less obvious ways to break into places but he was pretty sure the other male didn’t much care. He decided to take this opportunity to get himself a drink too. Careful as not to startle the pink haired girl he stepped up next to her to follow into the bar. There had been a deaf girl in his camp back when he was younger and his mother had taught him letter signs and a few other signs so that he could interact with the girl.

He was probably very rusty as it had been four or five years since he had put that skill to use so he stuck with signing his name to her. He pointed to himself and signed out the letters slowly. A-I-N-S-L-E-Y. He had stopped just short of the inside of the doorway when he noticed that the male was circling the room. He figured that was to get a feel for the place so that the blind male didn’t run into anything or trip or whatever. Out of respect and not wanting to get in his way Ainsley stayed put but spoke to let the male know he was there. “They got anything good in this place?” he questioned in a mellow tone, though he kept his eyes on the girl so as not to miss anything she might say to him. Or rather sign to him. He leaned back against the door frame and flicked the a** end of his cigarette out into the street. Yeah it was a bar and he could have gone inside of it but Ainsley didn’t really like to smoke inside of public places.

Adele continued to watch him. He nodded to her pathetic thank you and soon downed his beer. Damn. She grinned softly, feeling more comfortable now for the obvious reasons. Davik then gestured for her to follow him. Her smiled remained as she downed her beer before she trotted after him. He was fast, so he was a bit ahead as she noticed he was heading to the saloon. This day just keeps getting better and better. She thought as she continued to excitedly follow. Of course, acting normal whenever he looked back to see if she was following and if any one else was around to see her huge a** grin she couldn't seem to rip off her face. They . were. going. to. drink!

Suddenly there was another male beside her and even though it seemed he tried not to freak her out, her body jumped for a split moment in surprise before she calmed herself and thought of the next beverage she was going to inhale like air. After Davik kicked in the door, and just before they caught up to him the guy pointed at himself and finger spelled...his name. A-I-N-S-L-E-Y. Adele slowly stopped when Ainsley did so she could tell him her name. She had noticed how slow he had finger spelled to her, so she would slowly sign her's back. Though before she could do so, she saw he had taken notice of Davik who was feeling his away around the bar to get to know his ground. Her eyes went back to Ainsley as she watched his lips start to move. Ah....he was speaking to Davik now and she wondered what he had said. Though his eyes had returned to her and she figured she should sign back to him before he adverts his attention elsewhere again. "My name #Adele. Have you been here all this time?" She wasn't one hundred percent sure he'd get all of that, though she wasn't about to assume he couldn't just yet. Adele waited for him to respond before she sneaked inside, went behind the bar and started rummaging through the stock.

Soon she took hold of several bottles. Spiced rum, vodka, and some beers she didn't bother seeing what kind. This will work. She thought before gathering some shot glasses and normal glasses before she poured a shot of vodka for herself . Her eyes looked to Davik before over at Ainsley. She smiled before waving him over. It was a simple gesture and most people understood what it meant. "Join me?" She signed to him before picking up the vodka and jiggling it lightly as if teasing him. To be honest, he was attractive as well. Oh what a lucky girl she was and for the first time, in awhile, she felt ...happy, alive, and ....fun. As she waited for either men to respond, she started to hope she didn't seem desperate, weird or looking like she thought they were going to party just then. She kept the smile plastered on her face, holding the damn vodka in hopes she wasn't coming out stupid. Luckily, Davik couldn't see her right then because she probably.....looked....stupid. What was wrong with her? Did the lack of males in her life resort her to these actions? She might as well have been on her knees, clapping like a seal waiting for one of them to toss her a cold fish. Okay, so maybe she was being a tad hard on herself, though she has been out of the game for what seemed a long time and here she was, expecting the new guy to do shots with her and have Davik following along.

              {OOC;; . If I do need to add or change anything, let me know! P.S. # means she finger spelled which means, she signed each letter out to make the word. .}

Ainsley had done his best not to startle the girl but it seemed he had not done a very good job as he watched her body tense in surprise. Well that didn't work out quite the way he wanted it to but it looked as though she recovered from that scare rather quickly. When she realized that he had finger spelled to her she looked pleased. His eyes had not left her for very long, to see what the blue haired male was doing, out of respect but she waited to let him check out their surroundings before she made any response. She looked like she was watching his mouth when his eyes trained back on the female. That made him feel a little rude as she probably felt a bit left out but he had not wanted to freak out the other male, which was why he had even spoken out loud to begin with. He would be sure to try to tell her what he had said after he let her reply to him introducing himself. It wasn't much of an introduction but she had seemed happy enough with it that he wasn't too worried.

She started to sign back to him then and he was careful to watch her hands intently. It had been a while and he wanted to make sure that he caught as much of it as he could. Though he was much better at reading sign than he was at using it so he figured it wouldn't be too much of an issue. She was signing rather slowly and he figured it was probably because she could tell by the way that he signed that he wasn't very good. He was grateful for this fact. The girl in his camp had always signed so quickly that even when he had gotten a pretty good grasp of the way it worked he still sometimes had to ask her to slow down a bit. The first bit was easy enough; her name was Adele. What a lovely name. He wondered if it were short for Adelaide. That was the most common and there had been a girl in a city he had passed through with that name. In response to her name he made the sign for beautiful. It was one of the few actual had signs he could readily remember and he was glad that it was.

The next bit was a little bit more tricky and it took him a moment to fully comprehend it. While he figured out the question, he knew it was a question by the facial expression she had made, she started to move away. He stood in the doorway for a moment and watched her body as it moved across the room. She was certainly attractive. It hit him then what her question had been. Had he been there the whole time. When he was sure that she was watching he gave a nod and smiled. After she saw his reply she disappeared behind the bar. He assumed she was rummaging the alcohol stock by the sounds of glass hitting more glass. He decided to make his way over to her, being careful not to get in the way of the blue haired guy as he went. He was sure that it would take him a few minutes to adapt to his surroundings. Being without sight was something that Ainsley knew he would never be able to handle. He had major props for the guy being able to take charge of things so well.

Suddenly Adele popped back up from behind the counter with several bottles. He was not quite all the way across the room yet and he slowed his pace further to watch her work. His previous thoughts that the beer outside had been her first left immediately as he watched her nimble fingers gather glasses like she had been bartending her whole life. This girl really knew what she was doing. She looked to her friend and Ainsley followed her gaze before he realized that she was looking at him again. He returned his eyes to hers as she waved him over silently. "Get over here" was not really a sign you had to spell out to Ainsley and he nodded with a look on his face that said why the hell not. She signed something to him again then and he watched carefully once more. She picked up the bottle of vodka right after and wiggled it at him in a slightly teasing manor. Cute, smart and playful? This was a good combo for the gypsy boy and it reminded him some of the girls back home in camp. From her actions the sign was to indicate that she would like him to join her and he was more than happy to do so.

She looked so damn happy, how the hell could he refuse that? He just couldn't. He made the signs for "yes" and "please" as he settled to lean himself against the bar. Though instead of waiting for her to pour him a shot of the vodka he opted for a swig of the spiced rum instead. He lifted the bottle from the bar and twisted the cap off easily. With one hand he flicked the cap into one of the shot glasses while the other brought the bottle of rum to his lips. He tipped his head back and took a long pull. When he had swallowed a few times he set the bottle back on the counter and smiled at the pink haired beauty. She looked a little worried now and he was not sure if it was because of the way he had drank or not. He offered a soft smile and signed to her again. The first word he knew the hand sign for; good. The second he had to finger spell; C-H-O-I-C-E. He hoped that he was not butchering this signing thing too badly. Maybe if he had the chance to be around her for a while she could teach him a little more. He decided to add a little. He made an S with his hand and made a slow circle on his chest with an apologetic look on his face, then pointed at himself before running his hand slowly up his forearm. "Sorry, I'm slow," he mouthed silently as he did this just to be sure she understood what he was trying to tell her.

Sharif thanked Feyja almost inaudibly as he made his way off the cabin's steps. He didn't much mind Feyja, so he hope that his silence wasn't taken the wrong way. He was thinking, and in the three days that the fifty or so of them were here, he had taken no time to actually see where he was. He'd gone digging and saw mostly the vast expanse of nothing that was here. Dust, nothing worth finding at least when he tried. Now he was just looking at the shadow his head was making on the ground as he walked, thinking. As comforting as it was to know that his little girl hadn't been discarded like last week's trash, he didn't feel any better. How could he? He had known since he was four that it was a parent's duty to protect his children at any cost...yet somehow such basic decency was lost on all parents in Lillian's house. No matter how he broke it down, he could never make sense of it. He'd met Lily's parents, and they didn't seem to hate him for the pregnancy...so it didn't make sense that they would allow such a thing to happen. Parents that raised a woman as perfect as Lillian was, should not have been capable of letting her down in this most basic way. Of course, Sharif only had his own parents to measure against and there was nothing but bias in that action. Not because his parents were perfect but they had worked their whole lives to get to Utopia and left it all for him.

Parents were supposed to make those such sacrifices, his parents would have been too willing to make more had they known about their granddaughter, so he didn't tell them when he had the chance, and he was content with them never knowing. Was it wrong of him to deny this knowledge to his parents? If not exactly wrong but most definitely at least slightly hypocritical maybe? In this instance, Sharif could live with...or rather die being, a hypocrite. He didn't have a double standard for himself, but he knew his family facts well. Taiah and Faruq Hakim were not retirees, but at fifty and fifty-seven, it was not practical or logical for them to try and have more children now. Asli was their daughter, losing her maiden name to marriage if she became more traditional with age was a given. Sharif was their son but had no intention to see the coming new year, plus Johanna had been a daughter too. His father's family name was dead in water as were, at least in Nevada, but he remembered at least one uncle who had stayed in New York so all was not completely lost. He knew his parents, they would have killed themselves fighting to ensure their granddaughter would be safe and Lily too, because she was family after this. They'd killed their livelihood for him once before, of course they would have given up their savings in a court battle to stop this abortion had they known. They fought his expulsion with one of the best lawyers they could afford, but the cards were stacked against them in that Utopia courthouse. Long story short, Sharif had stated rather plainly had they just left him alone, he wouldn't have needed to finally defend himself. The way they saw it, that was premeditation which to this day he found to be total bullocks. He conceded that he probably shouldn't have cut that kids throat no matter how small of cut it was. He couldn't remember the kid's name now, but what he'd done resulted in the need for a tracheotomy, and Sharif felt no guilt about that.

The only guilt he felt was what that had done to his parents. They had to sell the boutique and the house taking a loss because the only luck that came to them after that civil suit was the opening in the Fallon office of the company his father worked for. He didn't lose any years of education, but his parents had to basically start their lives over. If they didn't have to deal with him, everyone's life would have been better. The only thing that stopped him from trying to end himself each year since having move to Fallon was the fact that he believed his little sister needed him. He had concrete proof now that she was better suited for this world than he was. The friendships he had here were not strong strong enough to justify continuing the burden on his parents known as his life.

So a ghost town like this was the perfect place to go, but it couldn't be here because they were leaving today. ”Feyja what do you think the odds are of running into another rattler while we are still here? If it was a snake, it would be natural enough, and it would be anyone's fault, right? Or am I just being hopeful?” He was talking more to himself than to the blondish girl beside him. She was a like minded soul, not exactly a friend. He was unfortunate enough to those. Sadly, the friendships he had here and back home were not strong enough to justify continuing the burden on his parents known as his life. Not as Sharif saw it anyway.

                                                  ooc

The Guy's Cabin with many people

┃┃__________________________________________

Looking back at Emma's life it only made sense that she was somewhat abrasive at times. Her sisters didn't know because she hadn't bother to tell them. Her sisters didn't know because neither of them had ever bothered to ask. Emma regarded them like sisters because they were closest thing the family she had now. The people made her lived an hour away and in nearly six years they hadn't made the effort to even look for her. Yes, she'd been checking twice a year for the last three years, just to make sure. If Emma went more than three days with out making contact with Analise then she'd get a slightly nervous phone call. Adele would text her phone full if Emma was gone without explanation. These two girl shared no blood in her yet could show more compassion than her own parents. As far as Emma was concerned Analise and Adele were family, her mother and father may have well been a test tube and petridish. Which explained why Emma was such a bad head space right now.

The cabin had been awash the noise of people eating but she had been carefully listening for some indication of what was going on out side with her little sister and blue haired Brit she liked. Something about that really bothered Emma, Adele liking a guy. No she wasn't secretly crushing on either of her sister-friends, the title alone made them completely off limits in Emma's mind. It was just that...well them alone and drinking was some kind of disaster waiting happen. After all, alcohol gave people false courage, if Adele had false courage there was a danger in moving too fast that would completely blow any chance she had with him. Emma didn't have much of an opinion on the blind young man but she clearly noticed that his disposition came off as less than friendly. Rejection at this point in Adele life could prove a terrible thing for the two person family that Emma had claimed for herself. Emma liked to think she'd brought up her sisters with knowledge that they didn't need anyone's approval, but with Adele's actions lately Emma was starting to worry. She hated the uncertainty of it all, should gave given her last for more control over this situation. Who cares that it was not exactly her life, Davik's mere mention gave Adele her smile back, so there had to be something good for her in him.

Emma's wishful thinking was disrupted by beat which caused her to shrink back. She recognized the song to be somewhat familiar to her, but something was wrong with it. It had started slow and the proceeded to seem suddenly stop start. She recognized these traits as products of a Disc Jockey's remix and once she was able to stop worrying about what the hell had been done to music, she could finally put a finger on the song itself, ah ”Milkshake” by Kelis, one of the many reason her childhood home did have have cable. Here Emma had been thinking that six years later the stripper's anthem couldn't get any worse. Then some genius decided to bring it back to the club in the form of whatever electronic-techno weirdness this was! And for reasons unknown, some genius—ah Sharif, possibly a literal genius, found this a fitting ring-tone for someone. Emma had gotten up to toss her own paper plate when she heard the noise, and filled the an overwhelming desire to make it stop.

With only slight difficulty, she managed the grab Sharif's phone before it got to what she assume would be the final note. Utopia, New York, leave it to Sharif to have the world's most specific caller idea. That's pretty damn far off this must be pretty damn important. It was obvious that when she spoke she rarely did things like this, ”Sharif's phone, he just went umm....”, her voice turned away from the phone but she could still be heard on it when she asked the crowded cabin, ”Can you still see Sharif and Feyja out front or...” Now she spoke correctly into the phone again, Yeah, he just stepped out he won't be gone that long I don't think so anyways, so if you have time you could wait but I am pretty sure you'd want to get back to your breakfast..or brunch, I can definitely tell Sharif to call you back no problem...I'm Emma by the way” Then Emma heard the woman at the lobby where this Anthony fellow was speak for a second time, she said they were having trouble getting through to Fallon at all with these outdated towers and being so far in the boonies. ...Wait, are you here in Gold Point right now too? Hold on, what exactly is the strong with trying to reach the school, aren't be not slated to leave for another hour or so?....

Elena noticed that smile Lillian offered was genuine and she couldn't help but smile back at the girl. She thanked her for the compliment on the fact that Elena thought Lillian was better at talking than her. Elena just felt like she was so awkward sometimes when it came to having a normal conversation with someone. She was so used to keeping to herself that socializing was just out of her reach most of the time. Lillian's little laugh was sweet and Elena liked the sound of it. She knew the girl was not laughing at her and that made her happy. She watched as Lillian ran her fingers through her long curly hair and looked out at the street. She wondered idly if it were a nervous habit like when she herself twirled her hair. "Your welcome," she replied softly. She really wasn't sure what else to say. Lillian's eyes were back on her then and she looked down at the ground.

Elena really was in awe over the girl's skill with the violin. She had never learned to play any instruments though she had wanted to. There just wasn't the money for the lessons. The pang of jealousy she felt at the other female's talent faded a bit with Lillian's words though. She commented that they all had their strengths and weaknesses and that Elena should do what she loved and enjoyed doing. The girl had to have seen the emotion written on her face. Elena's cheeks heated a little with the realization that she was that easy to read for this girl. Usually Elena was so good at hiding any emotion she didn't want people to see. I made her a little nervous but at the same time it sort of made her feel closer to the girl. No one really knew the pain Elena felt and she always did her best to avoid anyone finding out. She put a smile on her face and nodded lightly. "I have just always loved music," she replied.

After she had thanked the girl for the good advice on keeping her secrets to herself Lillian explained. She said that she was warning her because over the summer she had, had a forced abortion. Elena's hands instinctively moved to her stomach where the tiny life inside her was growing. She could not imagine someone forcing her into aborting this child even if she had nearly taken its life with her own. She didn't want the child to grow up in the world she lived in but she wouldn't want someone to make that decision for her. She knew something about being forced into something she didn't want. As the girl went on she heard about how people had spread rumors about Lillian without even trying to talk to her about it first. That was a better reason than any Elena had heard about keeping secrets. Elena took a deep breath. "That is terrible." It was all she could think to say when she noticed the tears that looked like they were threatening to spill from Lillian's eyes.

She watched the girl blink a few times before changing the subject back to her trip. Lillian was going to London for a modeling gig and to promote an album. Elena's eyes widened in surprise. It was amazing that this young woman had all of that going for her. It gave Elena a feeling of hope. After losing her baby in that way she was still going after life like nothing had ever happened. It was inspirational to Elena. "That is amazing," she said in a tone of amazement. "Modeling and an album? You just do it all." Lillian was really an inspiration. She watched as the girl bit her lower lip like something was wrong but before Elena could say anything on the subject the girl had taken out her violin again and was playing another song. Elena recognized the song and a smile crept back onto her face. Though the song reminded her depressingly of her life. While she listened to the beautiful music she looked out at the surrounding area. She noticed Adele and Davik breaking into a bar a little ways away and a guy she had never seen before. She wondered what they were doing.
