"Kyaaaah!" Screams a women as she runs out of her pastery shop. A nearby mother holding her childs hand runs up to the frightened lady and asks, "Whats wrong? What happened? Are you ok?" "I just saw that ghost girl again!" She trembles. "What!? You mean that Akane Moi?" The mother exclaims as she extends her hands onto this terrified young lady's sholders. "Yes. The Poltergeist girl! I saw her as i was walking down the hallway of the Café! She was staring at me, her eyes were so mesmerizing, then she just disappeared!" The women continues as she shivers in fear. "Oh its ok, just calm down. Come on, ill walk you home." Says the loving mother. "Mommy where are we going?" Asks her child tugging on her pant leg. "Were going home." She says with a smile. But at the door to the cafe was a light figure in black with purple hair and red eyes, watching the three walk home peacefully. Akane huffs and walks towards her house.

The mystery beneath the surface...

Aera laughed. "You're in the middle of the ocean, silly! And in the middle of nowhere," she added with a smile. "Although I think you could borrow a boat from someone on the island. I believe there's a Fortuen Teller in the central part of Erethra who owns a motorboat, if you want to dry off and ak her. Although if you were planning on going to one of those Merperson Research Facilities, you probably won't ever come back," Aera ended on a bit of a sour note, remembering the telepathic message she'd recieved from a mermaid two miles east in a lab.

Aera tried to cheer up, but the weather seemed to reflect her mood. The water was getting colder, and grayish clouds rolled around on the horizon.

Akane notices the gray clouds. she takes off her boots and sticks her foot into the ocean water. She quickly takes it back out and shivers. I was going to take a dip today, but it looks like the water is too cold. She thinks with a sigh. Oh Well. She says and dives in. A blue light shines around her as she transforms into her mermaid self. Her short purple hair extends into long blond hair. Her legs turn into an ice colored tail, and a white with blue and gold shades shall appears around her arms. After her crown, bow and other features are finished she notices 2 other merpeople in the water. She hides behind a coral and watches.

"I kinda worked that part out by myself." Daniel said, frowning a little. He still couldn't shake that odd familiar feeling. "And it would probably be a little hard to reach the centre of the island with this thing." Pointing below the waterline at his olive green tail. A distant splash suddenly caught his attention and he ducked underwater again, swimming behind a large rock formation. 'Who the hell was that?' He thought, unnowingly projecting his thoughts into Aera's mind.

Akane listened to the merman talk about his unknown life. She starts to swim off but her shall gets stuck on a coral branch. She tries to tug it off but then RRRRIIIPPPP! Akanes rips a hole in her shall. She looks at it wide eyed and smaks her forehead. She looks back around the coral to make sure those 2 didnt hear her.

daniel was certain they were not alone now. He had heard a distant ripping sound, and peeked out from around the rocks to see a silvery fin dart behind a coral growth. His curiosity got the better of him and he forced himself to leave the safety of the rock and swam slowly towards the coral. he poked his head over the top to see yet another mermaid. 'Three?' He thought, vaulting over the coral and treading water beside her. "Care to explain why you were evesdropping?" He said quietly, wishing he still had a foot to tap impatiently on the floor.

"Epp!"Akane blushes as the male mermaid pops his head around the coral. "I-I was just planning on going for a swim, but i saw you and the other mermaid and i got curious. Plus I ripped my shall and I cant seem to, disconnect it."She says struggling to get her shall off of the coral branch. "Do you think you can help me?"

Daniel sighed and shook his head in disbelief, unhooking the shawl and looking back at the girl. "It wasn't exactly hard." He said, presenting her with the slightly frayed end. Even with hands like these I can still do it." He paused for a moment to brush a stray lock of hair out of his eyes and then changed the subject. "How did you get like this?" He asked, pointing to her tail. He had assumed yjat there must be some kind of trigger for the changes, as he was under the impression that this was the first time he had been like this. It wasn't true, of course, but Daniel thought this was a new experience.

Akane took her shall from the male mermaid. "Thanks, and its ok ill ask someone to sew it back together." She replies, still red with embarrassment. She looks down at her tail. "What do you mean? How i turned into a mermaid?" She asks not understanding what hes trying to ask.

Aera swam over to Daniel and another mermaid, whose shawl had been stuck on coral a moment ago. She gave a nod to the girl before glancing oddly at Daniel. "What, you think everyone just suddenly 'got' thier powers or something like that? I was born a mermaid, daniel. Most of us are,"

It took a minute for Aera to realise that Dainiel had said something to her before swimming to help the girl. She laughed a bit. "You know, the tail goes away once you dry off," she said with a giggle. Aera waved to the mermaid next to her and said, "Hi. I'm Aera," and smiled energetically.

The other mermaid swam over and greeted Akane. She quickly responded with a small hello. "I was born Mermaid too, but i wasnt born in this location. I ran away from where i used to live to here. I found this place more peaceful." She said and spun in a circle gracefully. "My name is Akane. Nice to meet you." she tells Aera and the male mermaid. She looks at him. "Whats your name? I didnt ask."
