User ImageWhile Clair was flying she looked to to see a small area of the island going crazy things were flying everywhere and it was raining over that spot only. Clair had Ryu land next to where it was raining. Clair looked and saw there was a small house where all the rain was and a little fireplace lit Clair jumped from lightning bolt to lightning bolt and went into the house and made the fireplace blaze. She calmed the fire down and looked around the house from the fireplace no one was here but the dishes were flying everywhere. Clair waited hiding in the fire for someone to enter.

Zelviana, now back in Ciceria, was practicing a dance. The dance was very elegant and sad, it was the dance her mother had been teaching her before she left; Zelviana hadn't perfected it, which was part of the reason she was practicing it.
She heard someone swimming, and looked up . There was a mermaid she recognized as Aera -whom she had seen swimming around the city before- along with a merman, obviously new to the area; she could tell by the look of wonder on his face.
Zelviana decided to greet them. "Hello!" Zelviana said with a smile, although she didn't exactly know Aera, and she had no idea who the merman was. " would you mind if I come along for the swim?" She asked, as if she had known them for quite some time. "By the way, I'm Zelviana." She decided to add afterward.

(I'm assuming some of the mermaids must know each other)

Daniel was still feeling annoyed at the last person he had met, and was in no mood for another encounter. All he really wanted to do was explore. He had always enjoyed swmming, although he could never remember actually being in the water. Plenty of dreams, yes, but not one clear memory of his parents taking him swimming. Their last house had a massive pool in the back, which was the location of most of his dreams, but he couldn't remember ever using it. His thoughts were interrupted by an all-too-cheery voice coming from below. He glared down at her, wondering why she was being so friendly. "hi. I'm Daniel." He said after she had finished speaking, hoping they could get going soon.

User ImageThe mystery beneath the surface...

Aera blinked at Daniel, slightly nonplussed. "I... how did you... I just..."
Then she facepalmed herself for being so ignorant. Aera felt kind of intruded, an her expression towards Daniel was affronted. "You know, it's kind of rude to read people's minds like that. I know you're kind of new to this, but I think you should have had a bit of common sense," Aera wasn't terribly angry, but it made her a bit uneasy to know that Daniel wasn't respecting her privacy. Then again, Aera had a thing for overreacting.

Aera realised another mermaid was talking to them. Aera glanced at her face and realized it was Zelviana, an aquaintance she'd made a while ago. Aera smiled. "Hi, Zelviana. We were just going to show Daniel here around Ciceria. He just got here and needs a chance to get aquainted with his surroundings," Aera nodded before flipping her tail and swimming a few feet away. She stopped, turned around, and gestured for her two friends to follow. "C'mon, you'll probably never find the city without a citizen's help. It's hidden pretty well," Aera smiled once more and set off.

Layla lay on a soft bed of sand under the shallow sea above her. She was spralled out on her stomach, arms rested over her head and hair billowing in sync with the rolling waves. Her eyes started to slowly flutter open, taking a few seconds inbetween each blink. She squinted and pulled herself up onto her arms as she deliriously scanned the area. Her eyes went wide open at last as she realized she wasn't where she was suppose to be. A memory of the final moments on that magnificent tallship came into her mind now. The storm. The waves. And finally, her being tumbled overboard by the persistant rocking that caused her to loose her footing. Oh the waves below, how gently threatening they looked as I went down. I must've hit my head on something, or the water wasn't as broken up at it seemed, becuase I can't remember getting to this unknown... wait, where was this place? she thought to herself. At that final thought she pushed herself onto her hands as her tail coiled up below her. Then she shot up towards the surface and suddenly slowed down as she was right there. What if there's people... I don't really look normal with the markings on my face and my red eyes. So she decided to slowly left her head above the water and let her hair drape over her face as only her eyes and nose surfaced.
... coming from inside.
He walked towards the village in the middle of the rain and put a hood over his head to keep himself warm. "Well it'll probably take all night before the spell wares off. I'll need a place to stay while it does that." He passed by the dimly lit houses and looked around. "I doubt if anyone here can let me stay here. After all. I've had very few clients and no friends on this island."

"Wait, I what?" Daniel asked, confused. "When did I do that?" He looked at Aera in a state of bewilderment. "So what, you're saying I'm telepathic, as well as a merman?" He wasn't as surprised as someone would expect. Having not only found out about the existance of a whole new species, it appeared that he was also one of them, Daniel was far more open to ideas about the paranormal than usual.

The explanation would have to wait, however, as Aera had finally decided to make a move instead of just floating around. He flipped over again and pushed himself downwards. His tail was over five feet long, and he didn't want to scrape it against a piece of jagged coral just yet, so he used it mainly for steering, preferring to use his hands to provide most of the propulsion.

Layla's hair floated ontop of the surface like liquid coral, tired of being in a solid state. She glanced around the island, seeing no crowds of people. Seems safe enough, she pondered to herself. Then her eyes came across a lonly rain cloud out above the island. She laughed a little at how strange it seemed and bubbles came up from where her mouth was placed under the water. Now that the surface seems ok, maybe I'll explore underwater for a bit. Layla launched herself into the air just enough where she had enough room to enjoy the air before splashing back down. Her arms came above her head and split the water as she decended back down into the shallow depths. She glanced back up at the top of the water, enjoying the effect of reflected sunlight under the water.

... coming from inside.
Marthus began knocking on doors to see if there was anyone who could give him a place to stay for the night. But everyone who saw him out their windows just closed the curtains and locked the doors. As the rain poured, he could feel himself shiver from loss of body heat. He needed to find a place to stay and fast! "Sheesh! Where can a guy get some hospitality around here?"

Layla bit her lip a bit at the thought of just going on land at the moment instead of exploring. Sheesh, make up your mind already. She looked back up and started to swim towards the really shallow end, where the waves met the beach. It's such a nice day too... besides that rain cloud. She giggled slightly.
She popped up her head above the water and there was just enough water above her to cover her neck down. Her tail was propped up out of the water and bending down limply in the tropical air.
Layla started to hum to herself lightly as the waves played with her sprawled out hair now floating on the surface.

... coming from inside.
User ImageClair heard footsteps walk away from the house and she decided to leave. The fire vanished from the fireplace when she left and so did one of the cloaks. Clair put the hood on and followed the man closely and watched him try to find a dry place for the night but it seemed that no one wanted him in their village they all closed their curtains and locked the doors. Clair finally felt sorry for the man and walked up to him, "Are you alright?" she said to the man. His cloak was now soaked and the hood he had only seemed to help a little. "I know a place where you can stay if that is what you need one?" Clair said trying to be helpful.
Marthus heard a voice and turned his shaded head to see a girl. The wizard nodded and said, "Yes, I am fine. A little chilly. But fine. You know a place? It would be very nice if you could lead me there. I would be very greatful if you did." He smiled and was glad to see there there would at least be some hospitality in this place. He looked around as more people closed their curtains and locked their doors. This surprised him to see that words traveled fast around here. "Besides. These people don't want to give me any."
User Image"Yes I do." Clair said. She grabbed his hand and began to drag him out of the town, the rain was stinging on her skin. She walked under a small tree where it was dry and a blaze of fire swallowed them up, then man and her appeared in a large room she let go of his hand and she stepped out of the fireplace and lit the lamps. "This is my house. I will show you the way home when it is done raining." Clair said. Clair was very tired it took a lot of energy to go from that town to her cabin in the forest. Clair didn't like to jump from fire to fire like that though it took a lot less of her magic than she thought maybe he was a Nymph to?. "You can use my bed if you like." Clair said politely. She waited for him to step out of the fireplace to before she lit that.
Clair wondered what the man would think because she looked like she was a fifteen year old girl living alone, but it didn't really matter she would probably never meet him again after she brought him home.

Zelviana followed them in the direction of Ciceria, swimming close behind. She smiled at Aera, then looked at Daniel. He can read minds... She thought with a smile. She wondered if there was a way to block other peoples thoughts from his mind, because from the sound of it he could hear people's thoughts even without trying to... or knowing it. He would hear a lot in the city if he couldn't block thoughts. Wait if he can't control his mind-reading, then he can hear all my thoughts! Zelviana thought, then stopped thinking about him, after all, it might sound weird. Zelviana tried putting a wall up around her thoughts, wondering if that was possible.

User ImageAlthough Daniel didn't seem to be particularly happy she was here, she still wanted to talk to him. "So you're new to the island? How did you get here?" This wasn't the first time Zelviana had seen new-comers -After all, she grew up here- all the time there were storms, and other weird things, which was when most of the people came to Eretha. Zelviana loved hearing the stories of boat crashes and such, as well as watching the new-comers arrive, though it wasn't safe to see it in action. Most of the time nobody got hurt.

Daniel tried to focus on anything he could to try and block out the voice in his head. Everything he tried failed, as Ciceria's voice could still be heard loud and clear. After a whle, the thoughts stopped abruptly, replaced by a blissful silence. "Thanks." He sighed before replying to the questions put to him. He just hoped all merpeople weren't this inquisitive. Although he enjoyed the company, he wanted to find out more about them first. "Incredibly new, actually. My plane ran out of fuel about a mile or so that way and I was given some impromptu diving practice." He answered quickly while pointing to what he thought was the crash site, hoping he could get in as much as possible before the annoying banter wormed its way back into his head again. "The wierd thing is, I've never had a tail up until now."
