Get it back, get it back, get it back now
Right now and leave it all far behind
Get it back, get it back, losing track now
Lights out, it's the only way we're gonna survive
The thrill is gone we need a change
Don't hide, don't sugarcoat the pain

☽Riley Andrew Thompson☾
Riley heard Derek long before he came and sat beside him. He didn't say anything to break the silence that surrounded them. He would leave that to Derek since he knew his friend must have had some reason to come find him anyways. It was both nice and also stressful to have his ex just sitting there next to him. The urge to both punch Derek and kiss him silly was so strong inside Riley and he fought to keep his hands still. He didn't understand how you could be so mad at someone and yet still be in love with them, it was horrible and it drove him crazy.
He looked over at Derek when he spoke listening quietly to his words. He agreed with Derek about Josh, he didn't want to stress the kid out anymore. And with all the stress with the two of them right now he could see it landing Josh in the hospital or something. He opened his mouth to answer Derek but he just smiled at Riley and kept talking. He chuckled softly as his friends told him that his brother might be gay. He would just have to keep an eye out for him. He was sure Josh would find some cute kid anyways, he was sure there would be lots at an all boys camp.
He smiled back at Derek, "Well Josh is lucky to have an older brother like you then. I know you'll be able to help him out." He looked back out at the water and then grabbed a rock from the ground and tossed it in. "You know, I really want it to be a good summer too. For all of us. That's why I came here, I just wanted a fun summer like the ones we used to have. And to try and forget about you and what you did..." he said softly and then gave a small laugh. He shook his head, "Guess that's not going to happen now. Maybe that just means I'm not supposed to forget though. Maybe we're both supposed to be here."
He grabbed another rock and threw it into the water, more force behind it this time. "I'm still mad at you you know?" he said softly, "But you were right before...I don't need to treat you like crap and I shouldn't, so I'm sorry for being an a**." He picked up another rock, fingering it instead of throwing it this time. "I should hate you...for what you did. And I'm mad at you. But no matter how mad I get I can't hate you," he murmured, loud enough for Derek to hear but he was also talking to himself in a way. He didn't understand how he didn't hate Derek after that but he didn't. No, he was still very much in love with him. But that didn't mean that he trusted him anymore. That was gone now and he didn't know if it would even be back.
