As Travis walked with Emma towards the Auditorium, he couldn’t help but notice how much of a chatty girl she was. Really, he didn’t mind the chatty aspect though, he actually liked that she wanted to talk to him and he liked that he didn’t have to be the one doing the talking. But pretty much every little thing that came out of her mouth was either about her and Skylar or her and Mr. Sarcasm. Smiling a little, he placed a genuinely friendly arm around her shoulders and laughed slightly. “Em, I think the whole thing with him and Olivia isn’t going anywhere” he said, truthfully. Travis had a knack for being brutally honest, even if it hurt. He would tell you if your dress made you look fat and he would admit if a person was bugging him. But he was a total hypocrite, because whenever someone was truthful with him, the boy would get all sensitive and emotional and let his anger get the best of him when he was alone in his room at night. Biting his lip, and shrugging his shoulders, he thought about Emma and Mr. Sarcasm. They had been such a good couple, even though they were opposites. He knew that Emma still liked him, even though he was with her good friend Olivia, and he felt for her. The same way he felt about Skylar, who had her boyfriend.

Continuing to walk with her towards the Auditorium, Travis then listened to her babble on about how Skylar liked him and he smiled. He knew she did, and he was pretty sure she knew he liked her. They were close, they talked about everything. In fact, Skylar knew a lot more about Travis than anyone else did, and he was comfortable with her. Not that he wasn’t with anyone else, but he kisses Skylar and he liked it. He was pretty sure she did to. Running a hand through his hair, he laughed a little awkwardly when Emma confessed she had a small crush on Travis. Biting his lip, he looked at her and kissed her cheek. Boy, this was awkward. He wasn’t sure what to say, as no girl had ever actually admitted to him they’d had a crush on him, asides from Nicole. The beautiful Nicole who he really didn’t want to think about anymore. Girls were complicated.

Smiling, he put an arm around her and pulled her close as they continued walking. “I’m flattered” he laughed, not sure what else to say. Sure, Emma was a pretty girl, but Travis was convinced Skylar was the one he wanted-as Emma had put- in his arms. “Hey, don’t worry, it’s not as awkward as it seems” he laughed, running a hand through his hair. When they made it to the Auditorium, he gave Emma a little fist pump, thinking about Skylar. Not even minutes later, he heard his phone buzz, and looked down to see that she’d texted him. Smiling, he answered the text, glad she had texted him. He knew he wouldn’t be able to go much longer.

To: Skylar
From: Travis
Sky, I was invited by Emma, she’s doing something with her band. It’s Ariana’s party. Hey, maybe you could come with us ;] I know Emma probably wouldn’t mind the third wheel. And hey, no bf? In that case, save me a dance.

Travis chuckled, sending his text, hoping it made some sense to her, and hoping Emma wouldn’t mind a tag along, especially after the small crush she had just confessed to having- on him, of all people. Smiling and looking in the Auditorium, noticing no one was there, he laughed a little. “We better get out of here, in case anyone figures out we’re in here” he smiled, looking at his watch, noticing the time. “Crap, actually, I need to go to World History. The bell is gunna ring soon!” Hoping he hadn’t made that sound like a ditching attempt, Travis walked with Emma out the doors of the Auditorium. “Want me to walk part way to your class with you?” he asked her, carrying her bags for the second time today. “I don’t mind, it is on the way.” Smiling, he thought about the party tonight, and Emma and Skylar being there. He couldn’t wait, he was super stoked. And he knew that it was going to be a good night with hopefully no drama at all.

Olivia stared sadly at her lone surviving chip. "You done well," she whispered to the chip before tucking in- shoving it in her mouth and chewing furiously. Vienna had spoken too late, Olivia looked up at her with a lame grin. "I wish, I couldn't stop myself," she said pitifully, trying to look as apologetic. Vienna and her didn't usually 'chill' outside of school. But Olivia could at least count on her not to talk about her behind her back. They could talk without the awkwardness that slight friendships held. As more and more of her buds made their entrances, she started noticing the same old things she did every day at the lunch table. Emma looking through Skylar to Travis, Lance trying to hide his boner for Emma, Skylar... doing her homework. Of course Olivia had all these assumptions of her friends- but knowing her great ability for figuring people out- she was probably wrong.

As Travis and Emma got up and left, she tried to wave. She'd only started to notice the cold vibe coming from Emma. She was pretty sure Travis never really liked her, but Emma, too? She didn't want to be making yet another clique change in the middle of her senior year in high school. It was just too complicated. Her gaze landed on Skylar, who was busily finishing the homework that probably wasn't even assigned yet. Maybe if she slipped hers under Skylar's pile, she'd accidentally do it. Olivia smiled at herself, placing her hands palm down on the table. "What are you doing after school today, Skylar?" she asked suddenly, dragging her gaze from the backs of Travis and Emma.

The lunch period was coming to an end, and Olivia was not looking forward to going out to the track and running a few miles, she did enough of that after school. She still could not understand why her coach wanted her to put more practice in. Getting better at running wouldn't come from killing yourself before Bio-Med. Luckily, water bottles were provided for those crazy kids who loved running and actually took it as their gym credit. Her legs started itching to stretch before she stressed them to the max. She got up and leaned over the table. "Actually, text me, Skylar. I have to get.. running," she said, looking miserable as she said the last word. On any normal day she would be so ecstatic to get out to the track, it just gave her an hour to breathe and think. Today was a hectic day, though, and her mind was on the verge of going into the meltdown.

With one last wave to her friends sitting at the lunch table she pushed away from the bench and bolted for the door, dodging the outstretched legs of lazy high schoolers finishing their lunch. A few other kids were on their way out, but she easily maneuvered around them and found her way out in the hallway. She took long, slow strides down to the girls locker room. Her legs felt tired and ready to go to bed, and she still had practice after school. With a sigh, she pushed through the door and found her skinny, lanky cross-country friends already warming up. A few of them waved, but the others were busy submerging themselves into the mood of the track. Awesome.

Mark rolled his eyes at Ariana's little kissy faces almost tempted to say 'don't be jealous' in a teasing sort of manner but he figured that probably wouldn't be such a great idea considering that a few other guys were seemingly interested in her but in the end one could only win. . .and not only was that stressful for the persuing male but probably the female of choice as well. After all Mark knew what it was like to be caught in the middle of a love triangle and how difficult that could be at times. He could even slightly consider himself caught in one at the moment. . .although Mark wasn't really sure what was going on with Rachel and all of this business but it had him worried. . .not only because it was delicate situation and one wrong move could make everything crumble between he and Angie but, if something worthy of relationship crumbling happened Class Clown would also present some problems, and Mark didn't really feel like taking on a senior. . .especially one well skilled in the art of pranks and jokes. Pushing all those thoughts aside Mark waited for some spunky response from Ariana which always followed some sort of teasing remark, not like birthday spankings actually ever happened. . .at least not that Mark knew of and he certainly wouldn't join in on that despite the fact that his father used to threaten him with the b-day ritual of a few nice smacks on the butt, but he never followed through. . .probably just a joke or something to scare little kids on their 'special day'. In fine form Ariana remarked spunkfully and tossed a piece of lettuce his way, although it really didn't fly. . .just fluttered pathetically halfway across the lunch table and landed on the smooth surface.

After the little lettuce inscident Mark looked up at Ariana with a 'really' sort of expression as she smiled and laughed "You would like to slap me wouldn't you." Mark teased wrapping the arm closest to Lina around her waist lovingly as the three sat at their lunch table. Mark was nearly sure Ariana wanted to slap him across the face on a daily basis and he wouldn't put it past her to actually mean it if she did. However the subject of choice was redirected back to Ariana's impending party "6:30." Mark repeated looking from Ariana back to Lina keeping their plans in mind, although she probably had things going on after school today, unlike Mark did at this particular point in the school year. "That's perfect." Mark said still looking at his girlfriend with a smile. . .if Lina didn't have any extra curicullar activities going on after school that was like three and a half hours of hanging out time, if his calculations were correct. "Yes your mother is a little over the top." Mark said honestly looking back over at his friend with an almost apologetic expression but at least she had a mother. . .or one that was still alive anyway. Even though Mark never really knew his mom it was still hard at times to see other kids with their mothers and things, a lot harder when he was younger because whenever mothers day would roll around he got to watch the other kids get hugs and cuddle with their moms while he had dear old dad, who was allowed to come but it just wasn't the same. However, his thoughts were put on hold when Ariana also commented on the pool inscident from another one of her many birthday parties. Mark half expected her to explode on him but it was almost reassuring to see her laughing her head off as other people decided to join in on the whole thing, Mark being one of them. "Fine by me." He shrugged when Ariana said she'd pull him in with her, then heard Lina's laughing and then her playful slapping. He laughed at this along with his girlfriend as Ariana kept up the threatening glare.

"Right." Mark chimed in with the whole present topic remembering the only time he forgot to get her a gift. "I've got a thing or two for you as well. Two dollar bills this time!" He joked my showing up is a present enough, he thought ironically remembering what ran though his mind when he got the invitation fifteen minutes before the party. . .new mailman screwed up on the route. Anyway Markus basically showed up empty handed and got ripped up one side and down the other by his best friend. Sure it was wrong to show up with nothing but did the title 'best friend' mean anything? Guess not, but in his guilt and shame Markus ended up rushing to the nearest wal-mart picking out a classy card for his friend and stuffing all the money he had with him inside. . .a single dollar bill. Safe to say he'd never make that mistake again. Then the girl talk came which Mark didn't enjoy yet he didn't hate, he just learned to tune it out and act as if he were paying attention at times, although it wasn't common for him to actually be present since it was 'girl talk' and he wasn't exactly a girl, but since he started dating Lina he became an avid 'listener' more than he would have liked or thought, and it didn't take him long to come to the conclusion that it was best if you didn't ask questions. He did manage to catch bits and pieces of what was said. . .something about a drama thing instead Mark preoccupied his plan to avoid Rachel as best he could. . .not that he hated her but of late she'd been acting rather. . .odd around him. Sure Rachel had been Mark's friend for some time but things could always change, she'd been acting rather flirty lately and Mark was concerned and the mere presence of Rachel and her inching closer and closer when Lina wasn't around made him feel horribly uncomfortable, made his skin crawl almost.

Then the another voice was added to the 'girl talk' a voice that made Mark's heart skip a beat as Ariana responded less than half heartedly. Talk about an awkward moment, Mark thought nibbling on his lower lip feeling the seething anger radiating from both girls at one another. Last year Ariana had dated Rachel's current boyfriend. . .Class Clown making it awkward enough for that reason but to really stick a pin in it Rachel spread a rumor around that Ariana was pregnant. . .The minute Mark got that piece of information he ran to Ariana, stupid enough to believe it, and kind of freaked out for a minute. Safe to say it kind of ruined the relationship when Ariana asked him who told him that load of bull and he responded innocently 'Rachel'. Ever since then you could feel the hatred between the two of them. "Hey Rachel." Mark said sounding surprisingly natural despite feeling kind of awkward then turned his attention to Lina and all awkwardness seemed to dissolve "So about those plans." He mentioned softly "Anything going on before the party?" Mark asked with a slight sense of hopefulness in his voice as he asked "If not, what did you have in mind?" He continued.

======Angelina smiled when Ariana said the I.D.A. would be awesome and that the maid idea was good. Lina loved to help whenever she could and this was one of the cases. Hearing that the party was at 6:30 made everything better. The stuff Lina had ordered for her friends party was being delivered and set up right now and she had talked to Anna's mom about making sure Anna wasn't home after school. That also gave Angelina and Mark time to go and do something together too. In that time, Lina would make sure Mark had actually gotten a present this time. The dollar insident had gone over well with Ariana, her mother, or Lina. Of course Anna had thrown something at Mark and then joked about hitting him too. At least Lina hoped it was a joke. Angelina was sure the rest of the day would be good. She had her best friend and her boyfriend with her. Also, Rachel hadn't shown up yet and started to flirt with Markus.
======Then she heard that voice. The one that angered her and interupted her inner hopeful babble. Looking over from looking at Markus, she saw Rachel. Lina didn't even hear what Rachel had said nor did she hear what Anna said back. All she heard was Markus say hi to Rachel. Lina slipped her hand off of Markus and scooted away towhere there was a space of about an inch between them. She didn't want to puch him away, but she didn't enjoy the way that Rachel looked at him. Nor did she like the way that Rachel looked at him. Angel bit her bottom lip as she waved at Rachel then shimmied a bit, trying to get Markus' arm from around her. Quickly, Lina looked over her shoulder farthest from Markus, and sighed. "Maybe I'll just go grab an apple or something." she thought out loud before she looked back at Markus. Then she kissed his cheek and stood up. "I love you and I'll miss you every second." she added the last part child-ishly.
======Walking off, Lina wrapped her arms around her and sighed. She walked between the "unpopular" tables and waved hi to a few of them. Finally she got to the vending machine and grabbed a dollar out of her wallet. Sliding the dollar into the machine, she looked at all her choices. Finally she decided on a granola bar. Hitting the botton she watched as the bar dropped. "Maybe that's what it fells like to have the one you love. . leave you. . Your heart drops. Possibly breaks when it hits the bottom." she babbled in her mind as she reached down and grabbed the granola bar from the bottom of the vending machine. Going to dig into her purse, she realized that it was in her locker still. But the thing she was looking for was on the table she had been sitting at. Sighing, she gently shook her head. Holding the granola bar, she walked back over to the table. She reached over Markus' shoulder and grabbed her phone then gave him a small smile. "I'm going to go eat outside." she said as she leaned down and kissed his jaw close to his ear. Turning around she shoved her phone in her pocket as her mouth was in a tight line. She didn't want to leave Markus alone with Rachel, but she didn't want to be near Rachel either. Not after all the rumors that Lina had heard. As for the rumor Lina had heard Rachel had spread about Ariana being pregnant, she hated that too. She hated that Rachel acted as if nothing had happed and still tried to be friends with all of them. Opening her granola bar as she walked through the hall, Lina took a bit and kept thinking of what to do about Markus and Rachel. She wanted to find out what was going on between them and if Markus really didn't love her anymore, but she didn't want to hurt him either.
======Exiting out the back door of the school and onto the patio, Lina leaned against the wall and sighed. Sliding down it, she sat and nibbled her granola bar as she thought about what to do. She really did love Markus, but if he loved Rachel, she didn't want to be part of the little love triangle. Or square if you counted Rachel's boyfriend. Finally she pulled her knees to her chest and wrapped her arms around them, holding the granola bar still, and rested her head on top of her knees. What would she do?

Bonnie just about fell asleep and then Mr. Gross came walking up and he woke her up with his heavy footsteps. She agreed with Camilla, Mr. Gross was very perverted. He was very perverted and very fat, with very nerdy glasses. She cringed when she looked at him and stood up and nearly ran into the shower room. When she got inside, she put her things in a locker and changed into an outfit of much too short shorts and a tank top that was thin and showed her stomach just the tiniest bit. She didn't want to wear it, but if she didn't she'd get detention, so she did.
Bonnie walked into the gym, and Mr.Gross told her top start running laps, that's what they were going to do that day. She knew that he just wanted to look at all the @sses of the girls, but she started running anyway. She ran fast, so that Mr. Gross couldn't look at her well and he would give up trying to follow her with his eyes and start drinking coffee and writing down stuff in his book. When she finished eight laps, she stopped for a breath. Mr. Gross yelled at her but she walked towards the bleachers and sat down on them to catch her breath. He gave her Saturday detention and threatened more if she didn't get up and start moving.
Bonnie jumped up and ran a lot more laps before she saw Cammie show up. She groaned and finally Mr. Gross said she could sit down. She had done fifty laps. She knew that was way more than enough. She sat down on the bleachers and watched everyone else suffer. She hated her teacher, but she had to be in the class. She thought about ditching a lot during the classes.

What am I wearing? Just a little something I found.

What the hell does she think she's doing? Maybe that little Popular B*tch she use to be is popping back up. I don't know." Emma caught herself moving closer towards Travis as they walked back. "Oh jeeze! Thank god, I really don't want it to be awkward. It's either you or my sister to talk to and I pick you. My sister doesn't understand anything" She swallowed and bit her lip then looked at Travis as he texted. Emma took it as the time to check her message that she ignored earlier. Message:Vinne. She sighed and bit her lip.

                                                                    To:Vinnie

Girlie, I might not make it to you before the bell rings-I got my own classes. Take some of the chips from Olivia-I handed... well threw some at her, you know how we are now. Oh and just some sisterly advice-you think about telling any of the girls or boys about your crush they will take you as a 'Wanna-Be'. Don't tell Skylar and especially not Olivia, she has that cold gossip blood still in her system... Beware! Hehe, I'll see you soon-hopefully(: Don't go any where

Emma sighed and pressed SEND. She looked at Travis and smiled. "I would want to, but I have Vienna to take care of and I really need to get her that food or else she's going to start on her secret anorexia gig again. Text me during class-I don't think I see you until after school" She walked up to him and hugged him tight. "Don't forget to pick me up for the party-Cause I'm inviting you, you got driver seat" She laughed and began to walk away. Finally reaching the table again she reached from her back pack and threw Vienna's wallet at her. "Hope you can still eat" She smiled and turned and walked away. Emma then pulled out her phone, seeing that the bell hasn't rung yet. She texted to Travis to see where he was.

                                                                    To: Travi-Trav

Skylar reached into her lunch bag to pick up a bright green apple, she took a large bite out of it as she watched her table. It seemed every few minutes someone was leaving the table to leave early for a class or something like that. Skylar was keeping to herself as she ate her lunch, typical of her, the quiet, observant kind of girl, obviously. Skylar had never been the girl who talked a lot or liked to hear what was going on in the other “cliques.” Even when she lived in Alabama, she tended to be more away from everyone and she was known as the “silent girl” because even though she listened to everyone else’s problems, she didn’t speak of her’s. Especially after the whole, “father leaving the family” mess, she was even more to herself and a little bit more alone, but she never shared her pain with anyone else. The father issue was something she did not like to talk about, even though she didn’t get too emotional about it, she did typically get angry and upset..she hated her father but missed him at the same time, it was odd.

Some may say, if they heard her whole story, that she had a tough life..but really her life has been pretty good. She has friends that love her for her, a boyfriend..or almost two, and her mother and the best little brother in the world, what more could she ask for? Travis knew her whole life story and she knew his, it was odd because she even said to Travis not to feel sorry for her because she doesn’t care that much anymore. She told the boy everything, teared up a little..and that was it, besides a tiny kiss they kind of shared. But, that one was a secret and sure..Skylar kind of liked it, but it was hard admitting she did with a boyfriend and all. Skylar let a light yawn escape her as she looked back over to Olivia while taking a bite out of her apple.
User Image
Olivia was one of her really good friends, almost her best friend, they were super close and understood each other. Skylar helped Olivia a lot and listened so well to her, Skylar just talked to her, nothing personal but she knew some stuff about her life. Skylar smiled as she asked her what she was doing, she shrugged her shoulders a little, “The usual, music class..choir, then who knows..I don’t think I’ll have any homework I’ll have to do.” Skylar shook her head as she took a few more bites of her apple and watched Olivia start to get up no time after Vienna arrived and Lance. Skylar nodded lightly when she told her to text her, and then Olivia was gone..off to some class where she ran..ew. Skylar did not like sports, they just didn’t mesh with her. “See you later, Liv.” She smiled softly as she felt the light vibration of her phone, meaning she received a text message back from Travis.

Skylar read the text message and raised an eyebrow a little bit at it, a party? Skylar wasn’t exactly the party type, especially if she was going to be a third wheel. Well, she probably wouldn’t because she was pretty good friends with Emma too, who knew about her and Travis and their little situation. Skylar looked at whose party it was, Ariana, she was the only decent girl in the “popular” group. Skylar sighed lightly as she finished up her apple and then decided to send a simple text message back. Skylar and Travis had the same last period and both had music class and choir together, much easier to talk. Skylar needed some convincing too, because Travis and everyone in their group knew she wasn’t big on a popular’s party..or a party, period.

To: Travis
From: Skylar
I dunno, a party isn’t exactly my style, y’know?
We’ll see about it, I’ll talk to you more during 7th
and our after school stuff, deal? (:

The text message she sent to him was simple, she would just rather talk about it..and get more details, and Travis knew she wasn’t convinced that she should go. Skylar just didn’t fit into chaos at parties and Emma had invited Travis, not Skylar..was that implying something? Well, maybe just a little bit..maybe Emma didn’t want Skylar there or something, but the boyfriend was out today..and that was a little bit of a motivator too; it gave the two more time to talk and stuff without him. Skylar said a short goodbye to Lance and Vienna and all, and then got up with her bags and headed out of the large cafeteria. Since, everyone else was leaving..it meant it was about time to go out to physics, which hopefuilly ended quick..photography was the most exciting class she had, and she kind of wanted to get to it to also talk more with Travis. Skylar sighed as she visited her locker, got her things and then walked into Mr. Dodge’s class and plopped down in her seat in the back corner of the room waiting for the bell to ring to start class, then end it.

Lance slipped a few chips into his mouth and began to chew. Everyone of his friends were vanishing from the lunch table. All who was left was really him and Vienna. With a small smile followed by a nod, Lance stood up from the table and wished Vienna a fare well.

He maneuvered his way through the sea of people and finally reached the band hall once more. He strutted in to see all of the concert band kids and smile. Oh these poor children He took his seat in a co-director's chair and watched as the band director, Mr. Coulson, started the class.

Travis couldn’t help but laugh a little as Emma started talking about Olivia, and how her popular b*tch streak was starting to come out. In his opinion, he didn’t think anything of Olivia and Mr. Sarcasm, but that was, in fact, because he was a boy. Travis wasn’t exactly the first person who noticed things between two of his friends, and he realized they probably weren’t as quick to assume either, because the whole ordeal between him and Skylar had been pretty quiet. Okay, well, somewhat quiet. He just hoped that it wasn’t something that was evident within half the school. “Well, I think you should talk to her about your feelings” Travis said, sounding like an idiot psychiatrist. Usually, he was good at talking to girls, but he hated running late for class. Travis was sensitive, and that made him often paranoid that he would get expelled if he showed up even a tic late. Stretching his arms over his head, he nodded when she said she picked him to talk to. He was starting to feel bad for being so silent now, but it was just because of the paranoia of being late. He would talk to her at the party tonight and they could have a whole two hour long conversation if they so planned. He was a lot better at talking with people when he wasn’t stressed out or in one of his sensitive moods.

Continuing to walk towards class, Travis noticed there was plenty of time. In fact, just enough to make it to class before the bell let out it’s shrill ring. As soon as he made it to his class, he heard Emma say something else and laughed, giving her a hug. “Yes, make sure she eats. I don’t want to see that one thinning out” he winked, hugging her again and nodded. “Of course I get driver seat, I would never let a girl drive” he joked around, though he was still partially serious. Giving her a small wave before she headed off, Travis made his way into the classroom, sitting down. There was Mr. Rodger, giving him that evil beady stare, cursing him for being so punctual again. Sitting down, he couldn’t help but let out a smirk. He knew Mr. Rodger was waiting for the one day that the boy would be tardy. The one day, which had not happened in all his years of High School.

Placing himself down in the chair that was as hard as a rock, Travis felt his phone vibrate, and looked at it. It was a text from Emma. He’d wondered if she’d even made it back to her classroom yet. Looking at it, he stretched his fingers and smiled. He could probably do a lot better sending texts right now then talking.

To: Emma
From: Travis
Hey, I have Photography last period. You can come meet me last period if you’d like. What’s up?

Sending the message, he wondered what the urgency to talk with him was. The two had just seen each other a total of five minutes ago, but he was worried. He hoped it was just something about the party later, and she would be satisfied about meeting him after last class. Hearing his phone buzz again, he wondered if it was Emma, urging him to come to meet him right now. Looking at it and seeing Skylar’s name, he smiled and read her message, texting a reply. Frowning, he noticed by the tone in her words that she was not really feeling it. He hoped in last class he could convince her to come with him and Emma. He also hoped Emma was okay with inviting a third along.

To: Skylar
From: Travis
Don’t worry Skye, I’ll convince you. Like you said, no boyfriend. ;] See you last class

With that, Travis closed his phone, just before Mr. Rodger could look up, laughing a little. Waiting for the bell to ring, Travis smiled, twiddling his thumbs on the desk. He couldn’t wait until the end of the night. And he was definitely excited for Ariana’s party.

Carter was a heavy sleeper, to say the least. His usual morning routine did not usually start until ten minutes before the late bell rang. His parent's had a fine idea to move the family within walking distance of the school- it made driving that much faster. Carter opened his chocolate brown eyes just as his phone alarm went off. He groaned and sat up. He was going to be late, he might as well accept it. With one last breath of warm, bedtime air, Carter pushed the ten tons of blankets off and rolled out of bed. His naturally curly mess of hair was only about twenty feet taller than it should be, but he didn't mind. He bent down and sniffed his boxers as best he could, they smelled clean enough. A pair of baggy athletic shorts were found in his 'clean clothes' drawer, and he layered a white under shirt and a polo he was sure Rachel had bought him over it. He slipped on some questionably white socks and pulled some black and white DC shoes over them. Not the most stylish look in the world, but it would do. Quickly, Carter ran a comb through his messy curls, most of them bouncing back into slight perfection. He hadn't taken the time to towel dry his hair the night before, thus making his usually straight hair, bouncy with the naturally curly.. curls. With one last look around the messy half of the room that he liked to call his own, Carter headed out to the hallway. Deserted. It was just good to know that someone cared whether he got to school on time or not. Carter made a quick pit stop at his shared bathroom before jogging into the kitchen for a Coke and some mini muffins. The muffins lasted about forty five seconds, where as the Coke made it all the way out to the curb where his car was parked. Sometimes, if he was woken up early enough, he would take his brothers to school. Usually they just walked. Carter had full rights to the car, seeing as he had bought it, and he needed it for work.

The drive was extremely short, but he was still slamming his door shut twenty minutes after first period had started. First period and fourth period were the only real classes Carter had with Rachel before lunch. He sighed, just knowing she would be pissed. He only missed first period every other day, and she was his lab partner. That's what she got for choosing an underachiever to try to finish labs with. Especially one who couldn't keep it in his pants for longer than thirty minutes alone with her. These thoughts brought a smile to his face as he strode up the walkway and into the building. The teacher prowling the front entrance looked at him and rolled her eyes. " Mr. Granit, you know the drill," she hissed, and Carter gave her the thumbs up. He entered the office and the dean waved him towards her office. This was the precise moment in which Carter Granit remembered that he'd forgotten deodorant that morning. He chuckled to himself, luckily for everyone else around him, he had a stick in his gym locker.

Day after day, the dean pounded the same useless information into Carter's head, and day after day he imagined her naked behind her desk. The only reason that Carter was sentenced to the Janitorial staff was to keep himself from getting expelled. Like they could ever expel him, all of the teachers found him way to entertaining to get rid of him. After the second period late bell had rung, Ms. dean let him go, handing him a yellow pass, and a pink detention slip. Awesome. Carter made his way towards the gym, crumpling the pink slip of paper and dropping it on the floor.

Gym was the class of all classes. Today he got to play dodge ball, showing those freshman wanna-bes what varsity pitchers looked like. He only sent two kids to the nurses office with bloody noses this round, he'd been aiming for the lower 'nose', anyway. After gym came Algebra, oh how he sucked at Algebra. Turns out, he sucked so bad, that Mr. Waldamin wanted to keep him after. Apparently, World History was not an important class in the math world, so Carter was given an excused absence to wander the digits of Algebra. Even with the extra period, Carter was completely clueless. Waldamin eventually just let him go, deciding that the boy could eat lunch if he thought purely on the greatness of why x had to equal a certain value.

Now Carter was only fifteen minutes late for the best class of the day, lunch. He pulled a sandwich from his locker, somehow he'd managed to find one already packed for him that morning. Maybe somebody did love him. He opened it up as he made his way down the hallway, taking enormous bites and downing the whole thing before he reached the next garbage can where he could dispose of the plastic wrapping. After digging through his pockets, Carter came up with just enough change to buy himself a tiny plastic bottle of overpriced juice. He downed that in a matter of seconds and left the empty bottle on the first table that he came across as he entered the lunch room. Carter found that most of the kids had already evacuated the premises, and all that was left were the slow eaters, and the angry girlfriends. With a deep breath, he plastered a smile on his face and came up behind Rachel. Ignoring the rest of the gang, Carter wrapped his arms around Rachel's midsection, pulling her back away from the group. He put his lips against her neck and whispered, "Miss me?"

╭♥╯I love you. I really do . . .

Ray shifted, somewhat uncomfortably. She was trying to remember when she'd started feeling awkward around Mark, Angelina, and Ariana. With Ariana she knew it was when she'd found out about the rumor. And, with Mark and Angelina, it was when she'd decided to start flirting with Mark. Gawd, she was a b*tch . . . The people she'd known since freshman year, that she'd thought would be the kinda friends you made in high school but kept for life, now probably didn't want her around as much as they used to. She couldn't blame them. She was addicted to spreading rumors and anything they said could and would be used against them. Mentally shaking herself out of her daze, Ray nodded slightly at Ariana. Not bothering to say your welcome, Ariana wouldn't care if she did. Ariana didn't care about anything Ray said to her anymore. Thinking back to the pregnancy rumor, Ray tried to remember why she'd spread it in the first place. She didn't spread rumors about friends unless they did something to her. Ray looked around the cafeteria, hoping for a distraction. Anything to end the awkward silence. The silence that only started when she'd arrived. However, when she looked around, there was nothing of interest. People were eating, people were leaving, people were coming in, and people were talking to friends. That was about it. Hearing Mark greet her, Ray turned her attention back to the group. She watched Angelina excuse herself and walk off. Angelina hadn't acknowledged Ray when she'd joined the group. No doubt, because of Ray flirting with Mark.

Ray was just about to make an excuse to leave, so that the group could get on with talking, when she felt arms wrapping around her midsection. Before she had a chance to turn around and see who it was, she was pulled away from the group. Now, she knew it was definitely Carter. Although, she was still upset about the feeling that he was keeping something from her, she was happy to see him. She felt his lips against her neck, as he whispered 'Miss me?' in her ear. More than you know, she wanted to say, but didn't. Ray turned around and gave him a small kiss on the lips"Of course I did. So . . . Did you get to Chemistry this morning?"since she was late, she'd missed the notes and was hoping he'd have them. Since he always missed that class, she had to do the labs and everything, and without the notes, it was a hopeless cause. But, Chemistry was just about the last thing she wanted to talk to Carter about. It was just the easiest thing to talk to him about, right now. Ray wanted to ask if he'd gotten her text, but if he did, then she'd have to tell him what she wanted to talk about. If he didn't, then she had a good chance of chickening out, like she had the last few times she'd decided that she was gonna ask him what he was keeping from her. It wasn't that she was scared of asking. It was that she was scared of what the answer would be. Eventually, she'd ask him . . . But, really, she was just hoping that the problem would magically disappear and it would be a fairy tale ending.

Ray bit her lip, thinking about her latest diary entry . . . Again. She was absolutely positive that he was hiding something from her. She just didn't know what. She looked at her feet, trying to force herself to ask him what he was hiding. She just couldn't. Not right now. Besides, it probably wasn't best to ask something like that in an open public area like the school cafeteria. She would ask him later. When they were at his house or her house. Maybe then, she'd be able to ask him what was going on. And hopefully, he'd answer her. About two weeks ago, she'd been able to ask him, but he'd just said 'Nothing.' and before she could push him to tell the truth, he'd kissed her and she got distracted. Removing her gaze from the floor, she looked up at Carter"Forget about the Chemistry notes . . . I'll get them from Bonnie or someone. Can we just get out of this cafeteria? It's pretty much empty anyway . . ."Ray wanted to get out of there so she could spend a little time with Carter because she hadn't seen him all day. Then she didn't have any classes with him after lunch. And then, after school he had baseball, most likely detention, janitorial aid, and work. It was practically forever before she saw him again. She usually tried to call or text him early, so that he didn't get up late, get to school late, and get detention; but Carter was a heavy sleeper, he rarely heard his phone when she called or texted. Either that or he ignored it.

Carter had noticed now as he pulled Rachel away from his friends, that they all seemed to be holding their breath. He was only slightly aware of Markus and Rachel, but he tried hard to ignore it, and he saw no sign of Angelina. Ariana's composure lacked it's usual innocence, but Carter knew that his Rachel had taken part in that. The others thought it was crude, but Carter found that prank irresistibly hilarious. Maybe he'd even encouraged it, he couldn't quite remember- someone needed to take the perfect little princess down a few notches.

Carter only caught that last few words of her question as he focused on the girlfriend currently caught in his arms. He figured she'd asked him something about chemistry, but she should know he wasn't there. "Weren't you there?" he asked, baffled that Rachel could manage to skip a class. Usually he'd have to go over to her house late at night to learn what had happened in chemistry. Of course Rachel would try to keep his wandering mind (and eyes) on the learning, but Carter was just too big of a screw off to keep his naughty little mind (and hands) to himself. Ah, chemistry nights were the best. His train of thought crashed as he felt her slightly pull away and noticed her avoiding eye contact. It was almost as if he could feel her discomfort. Any sensible guy might let her go and ask her what was wrong. Have I mentioned that Carter is no sensible guy? He tightened his arms around her, pulling her against him. "Don't worry, you won't fail chemistry," he cooed, almost trying to sound sensitive. Sometimes, guys can just be the dumbest things in the world, huh?

In attempt to keep his consoling going, Carter rocked back and forth in place, making the scene that much more awkward for any of their peers who had decided to watch. As soon as Rachel muttered the name 'Bonnie', Carter kind of stiffened, stopping the rocking all together. He released her but quickly coughed into his arm as a cover up. "Yeah, yeah. Let's go to the Janitor's closet or something, I'm sure we can manage a quicky in.. he glanced up at the far too expensive cafeteria clock and checked his time, " 7 minutes." His composure was restored with one crack of a joke, as if Rachel had not just recited the name of the hugest sin in the 'dating handbook.' Carter slipped his hand around her's, easily encompassing them. It was always a wonder to him why chick's hand were made so small- just another adorable thing for a man to cherish? Unlikely, but he stuck with the theory for now.

As far as Carter's latest flings with the infamous Bonnie Douglas, no one except Bonnie and himself knew. He'd made it very clear with her that she was not to breathe a word to anyone. Their little get togethers had started shortly after Rachel started flirting with Markus. Sure, revenge was childish, but an eye for an eye made the whole world blind, not just Carter. He was sure someone like Markus couldn't have sex with another girl, especially a taken other girl, and especially with a girlfriend so close at hand, but Carter really hadn't understood what he was getting into. He'd turned to Bonnie one night just to talk, maybe make-out a little, but he should have understood just who's bedroom he was crawling into. It only took one night to get Carter addicted, like a druggie or something. Bonnie didn't expect him to be there when she woke up, she didn't expect him to call her the next morning, and she sure as Hell made it easy to hide with how little she paid attention to him at school. To be honest, though, Carter could not survive without the constant attention Rachel gave him. He was like a small child, he loved attention, but he just always had to do something stupid to screw it up. Only as a teenager, mishaps were not as easily forgotten, or forgiven. That's why he needed to stop, and that's why he could never tell Rachel- it would smash her heart into a thousand tiny pieces.

Carter had fit all this thinking into the short minute and a half it took to walk to Rachel's locker. Very few people were standing around, so it made it easier to talk, and harder to run into people if she really did let him have a quicky. He took up her other hand as well, facing her with a lopsided grin. "Anything new or exciting happen at school today," he said, quoting his mother almost exactly.

Ray was pulled away from her thoughts of Carter hiding something, when he asked her about being in Chemistry. She shook her head slightly"Uh, no. I got to school late."Okay, so he'd missed Chemistry. Just great, now she had to get Bonnie's notes. She and Bonnie weren't exactly friends. There was just something about Bonnie, that Ray didn't like. Feeling his grip tighten, just before she was pulled against his chest again, Ray turned her head slightly, to look at him" am going to fail, if I don't have the notes and you don't concentrate when you come over to study."He usually came over at night to get the notes and go over what they learned in class, but his mind and eyes, were always elsewhere. And he always managed to distract her, when she tried to get him focussed. Ray wished just once, he'd focus on the studying, but she knew that wasn't gonna happen. She was dating probably the biggest flirt in the school. Everything with him led to the bed . . . Of course, she didn't go into this relationship without knowing that would happen. She didn't even mind it really. Although, she did mind that it seemed to be all he ever thought about. He thought about it when they were at his house, her house (even if her dad and/or brother were home), at school, at parties, at school dances, before school, after school. Basically, anytime they were together, he thought about it.

In fact, he was probably thinking about it right now. Being suddenly released, Ray turned to look at him, he was coughing into his arm. Then, as if he'd read her mind before, he started talking about having a quicky in seven minutes. Ray rolled her eyes at him, that so wasn't happening. But, she still wanted to get out of the cafeteria and be kinda alone with him. Taking his hand she walked out of the cafeteria with Carter. She wasn't sure where he was leading her, but if it was a janitors closet, she was going to class early. Looking over at Carter, she couldn't help but notice that he seemed lost in thought. She wanted to ask him what he was thinking about, but she wasn't gonna ask him any of those questions until they were at his or her house. When they made it to her locker, Ray leaned against it holding both his hands. She couldn't help but smile at his lopsided grin. It was cute, and he knew she thought that. He also knew that if he wanted something and used that grin, that she couldn't resist."Nothing really. Today's been too quiet . . . And boring."She shrugged"But, now that you're here. Maybe things won't be so boring."Ray said, swinging her hands, causing his hands as well."So, can we hang out after school . . . ?"She'd given up on trying to remember his schedule after school. It was always changing, thanks to detention and work hours and of course baseball practice. She usually went to watch him at baseball practice but that didn't count as hanging out with him.

Ray really hated his hectic after school schedule. It hardly gave them time to hang out. By the time they could hang out, it was about 8 at night and that was when they usually studied Chemistry. Or at least, attempted to study Chemistry. Although, if he didn't have work or detention today, they could hang out earlier. Of course, Ray had Book Club and Newspaper after school. They weren't exactly her choice . . . Her dad was making her take them. Book Club, she didn't mind too much. She loved to read. The Newspaper wasn't that bad either. She just didn't like having to waste her afternoon at those stupid clubs. She could read and write whenever she wanted to. Why did se have to be in a club for it? Luckily, she didn't have either club today. She only had them Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. And maybe, she'd get lucky and Carter would be free after school as well? Then, maybe, she'd be able to ask him what exactly he was hiding . . .

Carter watched her lips as she spoke, mesmerized for a moment. He found himself leaning in further as she spoke. He tuned in just in time to hear her compliment on his lack of focus at their study sessions. He smirked, trying to look offended for a moment. "I concentrate. I concentrate real hard," he emphasized the last word to make a completely innocent statement into something perverted. He chuckled at his own joke, rubbing the palms of her hands with his thumbs.

As she responded to his question, smirked again. The smirk was the usual sign for something dirty entering his mind and contaminating all that was left clean. "Is that an invitation to make some noise?" he asked in a small, coy voice. He leaned forward and down, grabbing her lips with his and making a sucking, juicy noise that the couples who make out in the hall way all end up making. "Maybe everyone will get talking about the hot couple banging in the hallway between fifth and sixth period," he said. He pushed her against the locker gently and pretended to grind her, all while 'wooping'. He released one of her hands and raised his in the air, whirling his arm around like a lasso. If people weren't looking at them before, they sure were now.

Carter stopped his charade due to a fit of laughter. He backed away slightly and turned to look and the gawkers. "That's right, that just happened," he yelled to them and they immediately dropped their eyes to their shoes. As soon as he had cleared their area of the hallway he turned back to her and nodded. "Sure thing. MeanyDeany told coach I wouldn't be attending practice today to serve an hour detention. Which means! I can get to cleaning an hour earlier, and get done by six. I'll pop over sometime around then, yeah?" he said, all traces of his previous act had dropped from his features and he was completely serious.

Just then, the three minute bell rang and Carter had to make it all the way across school. He frowned and looked up at the clock. "We would have been finished by now," he pouted, placing both of his hands on her cheeks. He leaned forward and kissed her gently, controlling himself enough to stop after about fifteen seconds. He released her and back up slowly. He still held one of her hands in his, raising both their arms as he left, finally just dropping her hand and waving before turning and sprinting towards the math hall. Waldiman and given him a pass to come in and get some more one on one Algebra help, perfect.

By the time Carter made it to the class, the bell was ringing and he was diving into the room like a champion. "Close one, Mr. Granit," Waldiman drawled, pulling the chair in front of his desk out. Carter frowned and dragged his feet all the way to the seat. This would not be a favored class period. He liked wasting his time in the free-period room, excusing himself to the library to see Rachel at work. Sometimes he even harassed her- asking her to find the latest book on the female body. Suggesting that he could just look at hers and then get out of her hair. The librarians did not approve of his visits and Rachel usually got their heat for him, but he just flashed 'em his thumbs and was on his way back to class. "If something leaks out of my ear, tell me. I don't want to lose what little brain I have," he warned the man, who rolled his eyes and dropped the Algebra II book down on the desk.

╭♥╯I love you. I really do . . .

Ray smirked at his perverted joke. They bother knew, the only thing he concentrated on when he came over, was her body. No matter what she did to try and keep him concentrated on Chemistry. Yet, she continued to invite him over to 'study'; just because the more time he spent with her, the harder it would be for him to hide whatever it was he was hiding. Or at least, she hoped it would be harder for him to hide it. It actually, all depended on what exactly it was that he was hiding from her.

"No that is not an invi--"Ray's words were cut off by him kissing her. She, of course, kissed him back. It was kinda hard to resist a kiss from your boyfriend, unless you were mad at him. When he made his comment, she shook her head, and was about to move away so it couldn't go any further than a kiss; but she was pushed against the lockers so that Carter could put on his performance. When he stopped, because of his laughter, she pushed him away gently and looked at the people in the hall"No, that did not just happen."she shot Carter a glare, not amused by his little performance. She was supposed to be the one spreading gossip, not the topic of the gossip. Ray crossed her arms over her chest and turned away from the crowd that was disappearing because of what had just happened."Can't you see if you can move the janitorial aid thing to tomorrow after school? No ones gonna be home till tomorrow morning and I hate being in that house alone."Her dad was working all night, since they were short handed at his job and Eric was crashing at his girlfriends house. So, the house would be empty. It wasn't exactly the smallest house, so when it was quiet and empty, it was beyond creepy.

When the bell rang, she looked at the clock, then back at Carter. She shoved him lightly when he told her they could've been done by now."We were never going to start."She was totally against anything like that happening in school and he knew it. She kissed him back before he ran off to get to class. Although, she thought he'd be coming to the library to harass her like he usually did. He would come to the library, ask her to get him the latest book on the female body, then tell her that she could just show him hers and he'd leave. Ray always got in trouble because of that. He distracted her from her work, so she would usually have to make Carter leave. Turning, she walked down the hall, heading towards the library. Once she got there, Ray pushed open the door and walked inside. The librarians weren't there yet, they were probably at a meeting, so she pulled out her phone to send a text to Carter. Ray started a new message, entered his name, and quickly typed out the message.
                        To:: Carter <3
                        From:: Ray
                        Hey(:
So are you gonna see if you can switch your janitorial aid?
                        Pleaseeeeeeee?

. . . I just want you to want me as much as I want you╰♥╮
