Palace Description

A forest lies in the heart of a world, that spreads of leagues upon leagues in all directions. And in the heart of this forest a palace lies in wait. This Palace was created by a woman whose heart and soul was kind, and loving, with the intentions of giving a home to all those who passed that need it. Around the huge palace, for miles, the trees and paths have been enchanted and spelled. Those whom intentions are searching for something to destroy, something to hurt, will easily find themselves lost and wondering around for days, in large circles, far away from anything they could actually harm. But those who are lost, and in need of shelter, comfort, and a home will find themselves stumbling across a large emerald lawn, leading up to the doors of a marble palace, that towers over with a majestic beauty, walking through much magical energy that the palace and its grounds seem almost alive. Bound to the marble bricks of the palace, its creator had weaved many spells of protection and barriers, so that if battle found its way to the large wide mahogany double doors of the palace, she would be prepared. Spells that that healed the palace of any damage done to it over time, barriers, and defensive spells of many many sorts were in play. Many inhabitants had found their way to the palace, and never left. Everyone is welcomed here with open arms, no matter what species they are, or what they look like. Every new member of her family was a gift, a snowflake, and precious.

The Palace of Immortal has three wings and a main building. The North wing is where all the bedrooms lie. This is a two story wing and though not all of the inhabitants sleep here (for some have their own segments on the grounds for their families and children). When someone comes and makes the Palace their home, they choose a room. Every room has a large ornamented golden stand, with an glass colored egg in front of the door. Every room that Hiroko has access to is purple. These colored eggs are locks, and each person must bind to it in order for it to work. Hiroko unbinds with the egg, and the person gives the egg a name. To enter they must simply touch the egg and talk to it with their mind, call it by the name they've given it, and the egg will only work for them. The egg then becomes a color that represents its human, and from then on will take messages that other people leave them, and speak to their resident only through telepathy. Inside each room, a wind-chime hangs, that works with the same magic enchantment, and goes by the same name as the eggs. One must touch it, and request how long they wish to sleep, and a chime will play a tune that is most soothing to its bonder, and play, creating an enchanted sleep in which one will always wake up rested. When it's time to awaken, the chime will stop to play, and its resident will always wake up. If the chime senses danger however, it will stop immediately to make the sleeper alert and fully awake.

In the East wing, on the second level, an orphanage in which Children who were lost can be adopted from by loving parents. This orphanage takes up the whole floor, and are normally a few children in there at a time. On the bottom level, one half of the floor is taken up by an infirmary, where wounded inhabitants can be go to healed by one of the many gifted healers of the palace. Herbs and magic are both used in this room. The other half of the bottom level is a nursery, where children of the residents and orphanage play together, in a large playroom. The playroom is stocked with more toys then one can count, and devices of other worldly amusements. There are small couches in there, and pillows, and it is the perfect environment for a child to stay, oblivious that their parents may be fighting demons, or even making love with a bit of privacy in their quarters.

The west wing is one of mystery. Not many people go in there, and its up to your imagination for what you find in the three story west wing.

The top floors to every building served as private get aways, and observatories for ones pleasure at viewing the night skies. Whereas the palace also had two basements. The bottom basement, had a collection of old machines and toys in which were just for show. There was a large stone archway lined with runes of an old old language. The palace creator alone holds the keys and secrets to this archway, and very few get to see it in use. The upper basement has a series of dungeons and laboratories for those of her people with more brain and ideas then she, and has happily provided each of them with their own laboratory and equipment.

The main building opened up to a large ballroom made of white and black marble. An indoor wrap around balcony lined the walls up at the second story that one could get to by climbing the grand staircase that stood in the center of the large room. To the left were the doors to the kitchen, which also had doors down to the basement located in them. To the right, were the lounge and bar area, where people could sit and relax. In the lounge room, a single fireplace stood in the center of the room, that was lined with stones, its chimney a large stainless steal pipe that lead up to the ceiling through the roof. Supporting the chimney, large stone pikes came down from all sides, making it look like a strange tee-pee of sorts. Through it though, you could see the other side of the circular lounge/bar-room, enabling everyone to see and be by the fire at the same time. This was were most of the activity was. It was filled with comfortable sofas and tables, a bar with beverages of every sort lining against the circular wall. to the far back of the room, a door lay that lead to the outside gardens. A place where mazes of flowers of every sort, trees of every kind and paths to the training and dueling areas. There was a large lake in the back grounds of the palace, where a small waterfall sang down.

Small cottages dotted the grounds for the palace creators generals and family, those who needed the privacy of their own little house. These were the ones that her people could turn to if she ever was not there to handle a situation.

This is the palace, and she wants you to join her in her home....

RULES

No advertising - From advertising RPing with you in PM to voting for you in the arenas - DO NOT advertise it here. If you must advertise something and you want it in here, put it in your signature, or put it in little brackets in every post, but your posts BETTER have you RPing in it. I don't mean to be rude but advertisors are very annoying, and you will only be warned twice before banned.
No spamming - This, is self explanatory.
Follow Gaia TOS
Romance is encouraged, Cybering is not - I encourage everyone to have a little romance in their daily lives, even in Gaia. But if you cyber in here, you're out. If we want to see soft porn all we gotta do is type it in a Google toolbar. Take it to PMs, where personal stuff is meant to be.
Literacy - I truly truly truly hate it when people role play like this: *~walks in and looks around~* hi. how r u? my name is _____. will u b my friend? Seriously. This makes me want to punch kittens, and I LOVE kittens with all my soul. So, unless you have dyslexia and have an excuse for bad spelling and literacy skills, please try your best to use proper "talking" and be literate.
In order to gain advance into the guild and have a profile on the main profile's thread in the guild (which all regular posters will have) you must post regularlary for at least 3 months. The rules for being a regular poster will be in the guild thread when you have gained entry into the guild. I dont mean to be mean about it, its just its a pain to have to sort and kick out every inactive member that posted once or twice in here then never came back.

Fighting Rules:

Dueling is allowed, and so are enemy fighting but:

Every character MUST have at least one weakness. Not saying you have to tell your opponent every time but if they touch upon your characters weakness, abide by it.
No Godmodding - If I catch you once, I'll warn you, catch you twice, I'll warn again. Catch you a third time, you're banned.
Killing is tricky business - If a killing blow is to be dealt, both parties must agree upon it. When one person is killed, they are dead. no magical coming to life withing seconds and destroying the other with immense power you got from the other side. Haha xD Please be sure to fight clean guys.

For those of you who've come in here just for the sake of disrupting a good roleplay and causing issues, and do not heed warnings, you will be warned once, MAYBE twice if I'm in a good mood, then swiftly removed. And I'm talking to all of you who come in here saying "*drops a bomb on the house and kills everything and anyone inside*" or something similar.

AND THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE: Have fun!!! I DEMAND that you have fun, and enjoy yourself. I dont put up many rules and no rules that are different from any other role playing so its like IMPOSSIBLE for you to break them if you're in here to roleplay. smile Love you all.

Storyline (Please check regularly for updates)

Every thread should have a focus, that way people do not lose interest. This thread, shall be a mix of free reign roleplay to help people with their character development, but there will be little storyline submissions every so often that will be posted here that I want people to participate in. It makes it fun, and keeps it new and interesting. The story line will be typed up here under this little instructional bit in purple . Every so often a new storyline suggestion, will be based in the form of a paragraph and lead off, and people will go along with and try to roleplay the situation that has been suggested. That will be put under the storyline bit in dark green. After a while, the outcome of the situation will be summarized and added to the purple part. If anyone has any ideas for storyline submissions, and are not yet part of the regular posters part (meaning, you've not been invited to the guild yet), you can always PM me the suggestion, and I will put it up there after some thought and discussion with my crew and if everyone agrees. When you reach regular poster stage, you will have a lot more access to what goes on behind the scenes of the thread. but for now, enjoy it.

There is a war in the realm of Faeries now. Hiroko who'd always been a strong supporter and ally of the Faeries now has a new problem on her hands. Asides from worrying about Keeper's appetite for souls, the faeries have turned to her for aid. Someone in the other realm is giving the Trolls the secret to killing a Faerie. Orphans are being brought to Hiroko - Orphans who are just now coming into their own powers (and a fairy who is just coming into maturity is very hard to handle! Much less 4 or 5 of them!). As the war continues to wage, the Faeries hopes are dimming, and soon, Hiroko just may have to step into her Realm Portal to try and resolve the situation for them. It's not looking bright. Who is this villian that knows the secret to killing faeries, and what is it going to take to stop them? Will the Keeper help Hiroko save her friends or will he just stir the mud.... its up to us to roleplay this to find out!

New evils have risen from north, as undead, blights, and demons began to affect nearby villages. With the palace guards spread to thin to fight this force of darkness while fighting the Faeries' war; the villages have join with a new military force known as the Blood Keepers whose combat ability is as evil as their enemy and their leader a shadow that strikes fear in the ranks of his men for they rarely see him. Beware Palace residents, for they see the line between friend and foe very blurred and can attack anyone without cause. It up to you to Role-play the fate of the Palace and save it from the darkness or will you join the darkness and feed your need of power? The choice is yours....

Hiroko smiled as her daughter helped her put in the last glowing crystal to the Enchanted mirror in the ballroom. These small crystals that grew in the poisonous Blood Mushroom's were just harvested, after many years of letting them regrow, and replanting dimmed crystals next to them. Luckily, Hiroko knew all the places. When Trinmarhai put in the last glow, the mirror seemed to begin to shimmer.
Hiroko leaned down and picked Trinamarhai up, looking at the little girl with the exact emerald eyes as she had.
"Okay Rina, imagine anything you want to see, then touch the mirror, then close your eyes. Then we will both see it around us. That's how the magic works." Hiroko said, her ebony hair falling down to her waist from the bun she'd tried to tie it up in. Her black cat ears twitched, but she other wise ignored her hair. The small girl with silver locks and black fuzzy kitten ears grinned, and reached over for the mirror, and they both closed their eyes. When they opened them, they were in the middle of the ocean. The mirror projected a hologram around them. Many schools of colored fish, sharks, and even in the distance a great blue whale swam.
"Oh mommy! So pretty! This is what it looks like?" Trinamarhai asked excitedly, and Hiroko laughed.
"I don't know baby, but I believe the mirror shows only truths." She replied. She heard her adopted son, Terom crash into a wall, racing around the palace.
"OW!" he cried, before walking into the room, holding his forehead. Hiroko tried not to laugh, but she couldn't help but grin.
"You're such a klutz." she remarked, and the little ten year old demon looked up at her with a sheepish grin.

This man does not fear death...

Douglas Peterson stumbled wearily through the woods. He was tired. His long black hair was matted and full of twigs and leaves. His foot caught a tree root, poking up out of the ground and he fell forward, his palms reaching out before him to keep his face from hitting the hard dirt. Douglas moaned as he felt a rib give way to another tree root, snapping in half under the pressure. He gasped for air, but it felt as if air would never fill his lungs again. He lay there a few moments shocked and dazed, his incredible tolerance for pain giving him the strength not to cry out with the now cracked rib. After several minutes, it felt like he could breathe again, and Douglas slowly climbed to his feet. He took more careful steps now, forcing himself to take slow, deep breaths because of the pain in his side from the broken rib. Though any other man of 21 would have let out agonized gasps at the very least and clutched at the wound, Douglas did not allow the pain to show in his face. His face was almost always blank, the only method of telling what emotions were running through him would be to look into his very heart to see them. His face never betrayed his thoughts or feelings. Douglas stumbled forward, and then, he could see faint light through the tree-line. Good... was the only thought that entered his mind. Slowly, he made his way through the trees, taking slow, careful steps and focusing on one thing: those lights in the distance.

...and therefore cannot be threatened.

Hiroko grinned and ruffled her adopted son's hair, but then grew silent, her ears twitching. Far off a chime played a soft melody, and Terom blinked.
"Wow, is that...?"
"Yes." Hiroko told him, and set Trinamarhai down. "Come on my darlings. Lets go meet our soon to be guest." She said, smiling brightly, her cat ears twitching, her tail swishing with her excitement. She took her 1 year olds hand, and the little ten year old demon boy's, and lead them to the front door, which swung open in her wake. She looked out across the lawn, and saw no one as of the moment, but waited, patiently. Trinamarhai swung from her arm, which was quite a feat considering her mother was so short that she'd come up to her thigh already.

This man does not fear death...

Douglas continued to slowly plod along the dirt, his vision growing weary from a mixture of dehydration and exhaustion. He continued to take his slow careful steps, forcing even his heart into the submission of a normal pace. Slowly he made it to the tree-line, the edge of the forest where the trees abruptly ended, making room for the enormous palace that lay in front of him. That's different... He thought somewhere in the back of his mind, but already he was taking measured steps towards the door. He saw kids standing at the front of the palace and assured himself that the physical oddities were merely a mirage or costumes that the children were wearing. Finally, he reached them and squatted in front of them, surely he looked terrifying. His pale, slender face coming level with theirs. "Could you get me your parents please." He said to Hiroko directly.

...and therefore cannot be threatened.

Hiroko blinked in surprise, then Trinamarhai laughed, and Terom choked, trying to be polite and not laugh at the stranger, whom they could all clearly smell was human.
"But Mommy IS the parent." Trinamarhai laughed as she said so. She looked exactly like a miniature Hiroko, save for silver hair. The kitten tail and ears were accompanied by little stubby dragon wings, that were still growing in. Terom grinned, his appearance completly human, save for the fangs and the blood red eyes he contained. He remained silent, knowing he could not get away with laughing out right like his one year old sister. Hiroko looked the man up and down, and smiled kindly. Her fangs were away right now, but her emerald cat eyes that matched Trinamarhai's sparkled with kindness, and ever growing wisdom.
"She's right. I am the parent." She said in a soft, musical voice. She held one hand out to him, and touched his face. "You're hurt. Lets get you inside to the infirmary, shall we?" She said, her ears twitching in concern at the pale complexion and sheen of sweat on the man's skin.

This man does not fear death...

Douglas blinked his crystal blue eyes. That was the largest display of shock he had ever given anyone since he quit pretending to be normal back in high-school. He did not react as the girl touched his clammy face. He merely sat there waiting for her to lead the way. Realizing that she wouldn't do so without prompting, Douglas stood up and made a motion with his arm that clearly said, After you, and waited for her to lead him into the infirmary.

...and therefore cannot be threatened.

Hiroko smiled up at him, and turned.
"Terom, Trinny, go make mischief." She said gently to the children.
"Kay. See ya Mom! See ya later strange human guy." Terom waved, and darted off towards the gardens. Trinmarhai squealed.
"Bye mommy!" As she chased clumsily after her brother, flapping her small wings to help her stay on her stubby baby legs. Hiroko laughed softly then led him inside. Leading him through the ballroom with its magic chandelier that would flood Douglas' vision with a deep burgundy. Hiroko looked up at the enchanted chandelier to late, and spoke.
"Shuriyu, do not." The burgundy would fade from Douglas' vision as quick as it came. "What you more then likely just experienced was Shuriyu. The chandelier. She reads peoples favorite color and makes them see everything in that shade while they are in the room with her if she's never experienced them before." She said, leading the way to the eastern wing through halls of plush carpet and antique furniture. "It is also her making any body who has hostile intentions lose their focus, because she takes away all negativity with that hue." She opened the door and lead him to the infirmary which was closest to the main building then the nursery.
"She won't do it again unless you ask her too. Lay down on a bed." She instructed, waiting for him to do so.

This man does not fear death...

Douglas was barely aware of the things he saw as she lead him to the infirmary. The child's wings flapping, the boy calling him human as though it were odd, even the burgundy scenery(until it was pointed out), escaped his thoughts completely. When the girl spoke, she sounded as though she were an adult woman, and this too was unrecognized. But when she mentioned a bed, Douglas climbed into the first available bed and laid down, passing out with his legs and arms strait and by his sides, his eyes, were partially open but anyone that examined them closely would see that they were out of focus and that this man was clearly not coherent.

...and therefore cannot be threatened.

Hiroko examined him, and shook her head.
"Humans are so frail." she said softly. She put her hands on him, and felt down his chest for any wounds. She came upon the broken rib, and stopped.
"Ahhh...theres the problem, besides being dehydrated and malnourished. Alright. Time to work." she said, turning around, walking to a small fridge. She took out a bottle of water from it, and walked back to him, opened it, then dripped some in his mouth, tiny bits at a time, as not to choke him, with one hand. A broken rib was easy, she put her other tiny but elegant hand on it, and released her magic. The magic flowed through her and into his skin, heating it up. She closed her eyes and let her visualization tell her magic what to do, and within moments, the broken rib was whole again. She opened her emerald eyes and smiled down.
"Time to wake up." she told him, patting his face gently. "I have water for you, and food, if you want some."

This man does not fear death...

Even subconsciously, Douglas had so ingrained it into his very being to resist making any show of emotion or physical discomfort that as she touched the rib, the only physical twitch he made through the searing pain of touching a broken rib was to swallow the water that got placed in his mouth. When she lifted her hand away, his hand shot up, grabbing her by the wrist and his eyes focused on hers, not opening or closing or even blinking as he stared into her emerald green eyes with the light silver-blue of his own. "Whatever you did, don't do it again." His voice was not cruel or unnatural, it didn't seem pained or strained. He was calmly saying something in a slow, low tone. He sat up, letting go of her arm and let his legs fall off the side of the bed, taking the water she offered him, and sipping on it slowly. This wasn't the first time he'd been dehydrated, he knew that if he gulped it, he'd only throw it back up in a matter of minutes. Silently sipping the water, he hoped she'd bring food. He was starving, but made no show of it, even his stomach did not rumble for the nourishment that is so craved.

...and therefore cannot be threatened.
