Resting his head on two crossed arms and slouched over in the comfort of a desk chair sat the body of a man who was surrounded by piles and piles of paperwork. Not only paperwork was seen however. Open manilla folders and various sheets of confidential paper and scattered pens and pencils were also noticeable. The temperature of the room was a nice chill from the graces of central air. But the man in the seat however, he was passed out asleep. It was something he was used to for quite sometime now ever since he became an Attorney three years ago. The sacrificed nights of study and having to deal with clients throughout the day was something he could have ever expected to be so stressful. But because of those reasons alone, he always had two best friends who calmed him down anytime he needed them. Their names? Jack Daniels and Coca Cola. And what a hell of a friendship and bond such a man had with them.
Of course the man in question had a family. He loved them very much. They were his siblings and mother who had to endure the passing of his father, her husband, by tragedy. That became another reason Christian sometimes turned to drinking. To quiet his negative thoughts and try not to think about his fathers death that much. But it still weighed down on him ones every week or two. He even tried to hide his drinking from his girlfriend, but that didn't end well as expected. But it didn't stop him from sometimes taking a bottle and two shot glasses to his office in his house and drink while finishing paperwork and cases for his clients. Sometimes he wouldn't sleep at all. Other times, he would put fifty. Sixty. Even seventy hours of paperwork into each week just so he could meet the deadlines and keep his reputation intact at his law firm. But there were just some days that just got the best of him. And last night, wasn't any different.
The figure of Christian Anthony Bailey began to stir as he could feel the sunlight from the window try to beat through the blinds. It battled for temperature control with the central air blasting throughout the house. He had to admit, it was way too hot outside recently and he spent most of his days inside due to that reason alone. Mostly it was because of his paperwork. But he liked to relax and just have alone time when he wasn't busy. Today however he knew he had to make a trip over to his mothers house and visit his siblings while he gave his mother a check to pay for groceries and pay a good chunk of bills. That would be later of course. But right now, he would have to wake up. Not only that, but his body was groaning and singing a bit from sleeping in such an uncomfortable position. But before he set off or did anything today, he would have a nice long shower and allow his body to loosen up and awaken for the plans of the day.
Thirty minutes later, Christian had started to get together his car keys and wallet from his bedroom while finishing up getting dressed. He finished off with his dress shoes tied tightly and a quick glance at himself in the mirror above the area table by the front door. After locking his house down with a quick number pad sequence on the security system on the wall, Christian would close and lock the front door. Venturing to his car and hopping over the door due to the drop top being down, Christian turned his car on with a roar of the engine. Making his way out of his driveway rather quickly, Christian was only a good fifteen minutes away from his mothers house where his siblings would probably never expect him stopping by. When he would it was always random and never planned. He liked it that way. But this time he had to drop the check off he wrote in his wallet and see how everyone is doing before getting back to his paperwork. But until then, Christian would spend that fifteen minutes driving until he would eventually pull into the driveway of his mothers house and turn his car off with a smirk on his face. Finally.
