⊱Hearing the sound of approaching footsteps, Stephanie turned her head to see her might-as-well-be sister, feigning a weak smile. It quickly faded, one because it was hard to maintain, and two, because she had been found out. Or had Harmony known for a long while? No, by the way her friend worded it, it didn't sound that way.. Her face turned beet red, her eyes wide, and mouth agape.
"I-I don't know what you're talking about," the girl replied matter-of-factly, though it appeared all over her face that she did. Glancing back to make sure no one was looking in their direction, the girl led her red-headed friend around the corner, sitting down on the bench against the wall in that hallway and gestured for her to do the same. She took a moment to process the girl's words, trying to piece together what was real and what was not.. Was she daydreaming again? No, she couldn't have been. She clearly felt the hard wood of the sitting bench between her hands.
"H-how did you know? W-was it th-that obvious?" Stephie asked, her usual well-kept composure quickly disappearing, being replaced by obvious embarrassment. Perfect couple? Yeah, that's what caused her cheeks to catch fire the most, cause her to bite down on her lip as a bad nervous habit. But hey, at least her lip didn't start bleeding this time, right? So, Harmony discovered her feelings by her earlier expression? And now she was hoping, praying that no one else, especially Kale, saw it in her eyes like her friend did. But then again, friends did that, saw through the masks that were often worn. So she decided not to worry too much.
"But I though you liked him.." She mumbled quietly, letting her gaze fall to her shoes as her legs swung back and forth slowly, another habit developed from childhood. She perked up slightly when she heard more footsteps, and voices.. She knew, she just did, that eventually Grace was going to switch sides. And that was all it took to get this girl ticked. Stephanie lost it, completely angry with herself for not being able to do something to prevent the girl from leaving, and stood, walking away to the stair case. She was headed to the roof, one of the places she liked to be so she could clear her head.
Lucky, lucky her, she bumped into Kale on the way. She bit down on her lip, keeping her gaze away from the male and down at her feet, and mumbled a choked apology. She then stepped out of his way, head down as she got up the stair case steps rather quickly, being the sort of athlete she was. Plus, she had climbed up these same flights a lot, so it was a piece of cake escaping away fast. Stepping out onto the roof, the wind was now blowing harder than earlier in the day. She pulled the hair tie off of her wrist and pulled her hair into a loose pony tail to the side, and sat down on the roof, letting her legs dangle over the edge. She put her face in her hands and let out a long, loud sigh. Of course, no one was there to hear it, as far as she knew.
