☽ The residents of Legend Street finally agreed to have a late – very late – housewarming party for the Hollands, who have been in the neighborhood for three weeks now. Everyone on the avenue is invited, including the Kavanaghs, Cranes, and Everetts. Everything has been set up and the barbecue has started. Guests have arrived and it's currently the evening time. The Cranes are just arriving now that the sun is setting.

The Holland family had moved into the neighbourhood three weeks ago, and they were just now having a welcome party. Personally, Tessa had thought that it was a little late for that kind of thing. The family had somehow settled into the community very quickly, and many of them had already built fairly sturdy relationships with some members of the community. Tessa was partial to Rose Holland, but that was mostly because they were the same age as each other. William, Rose’s twin, was also pretty cool. She didn’t have any major issues with the other members of the family (even if she thought Taylor was kind of stupid), but those two were definitely her favourites.

Despite the fact that she thought that this welcoming party was kind of late, Tessa had no inclination to skip said get together. She always liked to have a good time, and this was definitely going to beat sitting at home, alone with piles of books that she had no inclination to read. Sure, she possibly could go and heckle one of her brothers, or another possibility was go and ruffle her sister’s feathers via hacking her facebook or whatever social media the girl had and posting embarrassing things for whatever boy she had her eye on today could see. That all seemed fine and dandy, but she still thought that this party sounded like a much better option.

Issue with going to the party? That meant that she had to change out of the T-shirt and sweat pants that she’d been wearing all day. She knew that the Holland’s wouldn’t mind her dressing like that, and most people were used to her walking around in comfy, not entirely feminine clothing, but her sister was also going to be there, and there was no way in Hell that she was going to be able to get away with it today. Sure, she could show up like that, but then she’d hear an earful about it, and then there was always the possibility of being dragged back to the house (or barred from leaving in the first place) and forced to wear something ‘presentable’. As such, she had changed into jeans, a new T-shirt, and had thrown on a hoodie. It was just a barbecue. If Ronnie had a fit over the frayed edges, that was going to be her problem.

Honestly, though. The party was going to be fun, though. She could feel it. She lived in a house full of werewolves and, as a werewolf herself, it was sometimes nice to go out and spend time around humans, even if you were never allowed to tell them what you were. That was one rule that Tessa never even thought about breaking, as it was one of those rules that were in place to protect her family. Not a whole lot was sacred to Tessa, but family was. And you never knew what kind of human you were dealing with… it wasn’t like you could smell if they were good or bad. You know, unless they smelled of blood and poison. At that point, you could at least wager a guess.

From what she could tell, though, the Hollands were good people. They seemed like the good kind. She’d been around their house quite a bit, having befriended the twins, and she hadn’t seen any signs of them being strange, or even of them knowing anything about their kind. When she thought about it, she could definitely see her father’s influence on her - always on the look out. Though, she wasn’t really paranoid, she just preferred to not be caught off guard. She liked some surprises. The kind that could end with her family in serious trouble, though, those weren’t the kind of surprises that she liked.

Brushing those thoughts aside, she had grabbed her keys from the hook near her bedroom door and pounded down the stairs, yelling at whoever was listening that she would see them over there before all but running over to the Hollands house, knocking on the door before being let in by Big Ginger, aka Taylor, who told her that the twins should be kicking around somewhere. That was so incredibly helpful.

Since then, she had been nosing around trying to find the twins. There were a good number of people there by the time that she had showed up, and more were showing up as time went on. She contemplated going back to find Big Ginger and making him help her find the twins, but decided quickly that she was more than capable of tracking them down on her own… it was just a matter of time. After all, how hard could it be to find the twins? The house and yard were only so big.

Like Tessa had said countless times over, it was a little late for the Holland's to have a ‘welcome to the neighbourhood’ barbeque. Veronica wasn’t complaining though, in fact, she was kind of excited to be going. It gave her an excuse to toy around with Taylor as well as dress up.

Unfortunately, the same couldn’t be said for her younger sister. She was wearing a t-shirt, hoodie and jeans to a barbeque, it’s like she didn’t want to make a good impression or something. Veronica had tried her best to get her sister to change her clothing into something more formal but Tessa didn’t listen, she never did. Ronnie never understood why she wouldn’t take her advice, it’s not like it would be the first time she’d help pick someone’s outfit out, after all, she did it for Liam.

The other part of Veronica wasn’t so excited to be going. Her ex-boyfriend Greyson was going to be there and she still had feelings for him. It wasn’t going to be terribly awkward, the two of them were friendly towards each other when they had to be but it was still awkward nonetheless. Then there was also Marcellus who was going to be attending and he just so happened to be her friends with benefits.

Veronica could tell that the two boys weren’t exactly best friends; they were kind of hostile towards each other at times, so seeing them having to interact was going to be rather interesting. Not to mention the fact that the Crane, Kavanaugh and Everett families were all supernatural beings that were visiting a human family’s house, which alone was going to cause some problems.

As Tessa was running down the stairs like some kind of lunatic, Veronica couldn’t help but roll her eyes. It was hard to believe that the two of them were related. She then turned her attention back to the mirror in front of her and took one last look before straightening out her blazer. There was no denying that the ginger was nervous to be attending the barbeque considering the situation at hand but she had no intention on skipping out on it either. Instead, Veronica did her best to brush away the nervous thoughts.

“We’re going to be late and I don’t mean fashionably late either!” She said, yelling at the rest of her family while following behind her sister and making her way to the Holland house and knocking on the door once she arrived. To her surprise, Taylor had opened it. She hadn’t expected to see him so soon with the amount of people that were going to be in his house, she figured it would be at least an hour before she found him. Nonetheless, let the toying begin. “Hello Taylor.” Her game was just beginning as she batted her eyelashes at the boy before entering inside the house.

“You’re officially a part of the neighbourhood, congratulations.” She said, as she looked into his light green eyes. Truth be told, Ronnie found Taylor rather attractive with his shaggy, chocolate brown hair and defined jaw line, but wasn’t interested in doing anything about it, toying around and seducing the boy was fun enough. Her eyes then shifted over to Griffin as he entered the house himself.

“Excuse me, I have to go talk to my brother. I’ll see you later.” Flashing him a flirty smile before walking over to her brother. “Is it just my nerves talking or do you also have a bad feeling about tonight?” Making sure to keep her voice hushed so that only Griffin could hear her, none of the Holland's needed to know about how they just invited eighteen supernaturals into their house for a get together. And on top of that, some of them despised each other like cats and dogs.

OOC: outfit in left side picture.

Tonight would definitely be interesting. Even if nothing happens, it would still be interesting. The tension between the three supernatural families was always present and sticking them all in the same house, no matter the size, was never a good idea. Though, that never prevented them all from doing so anyway. Greyson cradled his cheek in his left hand as he watched Quilliam saunter around his desk, occasionally pausing to sniff the notebooks and writing tools scattered across its surface. He turned his attention back to the laptop sitting in the middle of the organized mess and continued with his research. "'In some Central African areas, malicious magic users are believed by locals to be the source of terminal illness such as AIDS and cancer'. Interesting." Greyson read quietly from the screen. Malicious magic, what is considered malicious? He thought to himself, is attempting said "malicious magic" as bad as actually succeeding in casting a spell? He glanced over at Quilliam who was now curling up in the fleece blanket Grey laid out by his laptop. He stroked his hedgehog's spines as he continued reading what was on the screen.

This was a familiar practice: Greyson conducting research or doing homework while Quilliam wandered around his desk. Not a day went by without this routine being performed even though Grey didn't stick to any particular schedule. Much to his parents' displeasure, he was in and out of the house as much as he felt necessary for the day. And to him, getting out of the house and going around town absolutely was necessary.

Greyson leaned back in his chair and yawned deeply; it was very easy for him to get lost in the words on the screen and pages. He didn't even realize that the sun had already gone down. This meant that the Cranes were probably making their way to the barbecue. THE BARBECUE! Greyson stood from his chair so suddenly that it scared poor Quilliam who was fast asleep still in the fleece blanket. Grey carefully scooped up the ball of spikes from its resting place, he lifted the little guy to his face and nuzzled his snout with his own nose, "Sorry bud, back in your cage you go." With that, Greyson was in a mad dash to get ready. He washed his face in a vain attempt to shake some of the post-6-hour-research-session tiredness. So, he decided to try a different approach. Greyson hopped into a cold shower. It helped... A little. Moving on, he quickly changed out of the track pants and t-shirt he was lounging in all day into something more appropriate for a house warming. Why didn't anyone come to get me? Grey thought while running his hands through his hair to get it into a presentable shape. Probably because they didn't even know I was home, he answered his own question. It was true, Grey never makes noise while working. He even forgets to eat if he has found an especially interesting article. Today's text was full of said interesting articles and Grey found his stomach growling. With a quick glance in his full-length mirror, he decided he was ready.

The Hollands had moved into the neighbourhood three weeks prior to the formal welcome party. It took a while to finally get the families to agree to a gathering, but they all finally decided on a date. Truly, it would serve as entertainment for this witch. Not all the family members were friendly with each other; the tension in the air would be tangible but what made it entertaining was how the Hollands were completely oblivious to it. All the humans were clueless. Greyson snorted silently as he walked towards the Hollands'. Living in this neighbourhood was amusing; there was something so fun about harbouring such a huge secret. If someone was to ever find out, well, that'd be even more amusing. Grey stared up at the sky, now that he was actually on his way to the party he didn't feel as anxious to get there. He slowed his pace and watched the horizon. The Cranes were probably just arriving, the Everetts and the rest of the Kavanaughs were probably already there. Greyson's thoughts wandered to Veronica. Veronica Everett. The girl of his dreams and he'd even admit (never aloud of course) that he thought she was the one. He knew of her reputation before they got together but even so, it was hard to cap his feelings. It would be a gamble being with a girl like that, but Grey knew there was more to Ronnie than the promiscuity. His curiosity got the best of him and somehow, she reciprocated his feelings and they ended up together. He still didn't know how Ronnie found such a dreary guy like him attractive. But maybe it was just that: the fact that they were so different was the pulling force. A very strong one at that.

Greyson didn't let his thoughts go any further, it was too painful to think about what happened after all the happiness. Everything must come to an end, after all. He still loved Ronnie, there was no denying that but she seemed to move on so soon. You would have to be blind to not notice her making the walk of shame from the Crane residence to her own home. Grey noticed it, oh he definitely did but left it alone. He slowed his pace even more when he realized that he'd have to be in the same place as the two of them. Avoiding them is childish, man up dude, Grey thought to himself.

Upon his entrance into the Hollands' home, Greyson immediately found Griff Everett, his best friend. The two were an odd pair, their personalities were very different from one another but somehow they got along famously. With Griff's back to him, Grey decided it would be amusing to give him a little scare. He approached his best friend quietly and hooked an arm around Griff's neck as if he was attacking him, "If you don't make a scene, then we can go about this quietly, I may even let you live," he whispered. It was only after Greyson made that extremely dorky threat that he realized Ronnie was standing with Griff. He blinked and felt momentarily embarrassed. Grey, you are an absolute idiot. He dropped his arm from Griff's neck and cleared his throat awkwardly. His mind was swimming with thoughts and he couldn't even imagine what Veronica was thinking. Probably something along the lines of, "glad I left that nerd, good riddance". He nodded at her, even gave her a small smile. Tonight wasn't the night for bitterness, but maybe it was a little to early to decide that.
