~*~______________Kate____________~*~

Kate was starting to get annoyed with herself, for her heart was starting to melt and freeze in the sound of his laughter, despite how he ended it with a sad sigh, the kind of sigh that would come after if he hadn't laughed in a long time. Could it be that he really hadn't laughed in a long time. This only brought in Kate's curiousity even more. Soon enough, she found that Austin had made himself over to the arm of the couch, and was inviting her to sit next him on the same couch. "Merci beaucoup." She said with a certain saccharine in her voice as she made her way over to the couch, any angle in her legs was crossing her ankles instead of her legs, her hands delicately laying in her laugh.
As much as Kate really was starting to get homesick, it wasn't like she could go back because she really didn't know her way. It wasn't like there was anybody else like her Thomas who knew where everything was. No, she was on her own in this new place, and had no idea who she could trust or who she couldn't. Not to mention she was now rather distracted by Austin's presence. He soon brought up her position as a lady. "Well, I've had my entire life to practice, and Mama and Mme Adalaide to look up to, so I had a lot of resources as well." Just talking about the two of them was starting to make Kate excited, but her excitement started to go down a little when Austin expressed his sadness for being here. "I'm sorry you feel that way. I always thought that people went other places in order to gain new opportunities that they couldn't get before." She said, keeping her back as straight as she could.
Kate was rather glad that the subject was changing into something a little more positive. So Austin was a little rough around the edges when it came to optimism. It was a lady's job to either change anything uncomfortable, or handle the situation to make everybody else comfortable. "That I am. I pressume that you are one as well?" She asked, glad that she wasn't the only one. "I would agree to that, for I am not sure where we are either..." She sighed. Soon, she felt herself becoming hungry. "Have you had breakfast yet Austin?" Kate wanted to be polite. It almost slipped Kate's mind that she had come straight downstairs without brushing her teeth, and changing her clothes or anything she normally did in the morning. She was starting to wonder why she wasn't freaking out in disgust at the moment. Maybe Austin was keeping her calm.
