Dylan knew Ashley was watching him, Hey babe, how are you? he typed in and pressed 'send' before putting his phone back in his pocket. He liked Nichole alot, she was really pretty, and he thought she liked him for the person he was.

Ashley rolled her eyes. Stupid Nicole. She didn't even know Dylan existed when he wasn't popular. Shallow little... The teacher called on Ashley to answer a question. "Uh..." Ashley stuttered. She was mortified, everyone laughing.

He smiled at Ashley sadly. If he knew the answer to the question he would whisper it to her, but he had no idea. Dylan's phone buzzed in his pocket but he waited to look at it because the teacher was looking at them.

Ashley stuttered some more before finally admitting she had no clue. The teacher lectured her about listening once in a while. She looked down sadly, everyone staring at her. They all laughed. She closed her eyes, trying not to cry. She sat down. Everyone hated her. And she didn't even have her best friend anymore...

Dylan felt sorry for Ashley, when the teacher took her beady eyes off them both, he took his phone out of his pocket and read Nicholes text to him, Better, now you've texted me. The guys keep hitting on me, save me? He quickly texted back soon as i can meet me outside your locker.

The bell rang and Ashley gave a sigh of relief. She gathered her things, getting up to leave. She ran into Dylan, glaring at him. She rolled her eyes, walking out. She watched Dylan and Nicole, wanting to throw up.

When him and Nichole met up he kissed her softly and hugged her (etc) they chatted for a while.

Ashley bit her lip, wanting to cry. She closed her eyes, hoping no tears would sneak out. This was torture. Ashley was the one that had always been there for him. She was the one that had so long been his best friend, with him every second. And he ditched her. To go be cool. A tear did sneak out, and she quickly wiped it, but not before Nicole saw. "Well well well! Look what we have here!" Nicole giggled evilly. Ashley glared at her, trying to be tough. "Look. The old Dylan, when he was a loser like you, is gone! So stop stalking him! He doesn't like you anymore!" She laughed in Ashley's face, and now Ashly ran, she ran outside, and to a bench under a tree. She brought her legs up to her chest, trying not to cry. She didn't deserve this. She wanted her best friend back.

"Woah babe, that was a bit harsh..." Dylan said to Nichole, "Well someone had to tell her to stop stalking you." she snapped walking away, He would have gone to go and see Ashley but he knew she wouldnt talk to him anymore. Deep down, he knew he had made the wrong decision to leave her behind but he didnt have the guts to do anything, he ran after Nichole insted.

Ashley heard the bell ring to be in lunch, but she ignored it. Why did she ever think that she would be able to always be friends with Dylan? He was always so awesome. She should have known he would be cool. She turned and looked in the cafeteria, and saw Dylan and Nicole. Tears slid down her cheeks. Nicole was right. Well, not anymore. Ashley was done with Dylan. Or so she thought.

Dylan smiled at Ashley when he came in though he knew she would never forgive him, "Im gunna' go and see Charlotte." Nichole said rolling her eyes at him because she had noticed him smiling at Ashley, Dylan shrugged "Alright." he replied.

Ashley saw him smile at her and was about to smile back, but stopped herself. She looked away, but found she was hungry. She got up, and went into the cafeteria. She got a salad, and apple, and a chocolate milk, but didn't know where to sit when she came out. She looked around, and found an empty table. She sat down, sighing, and started eating.

Dylan sighed quietly when Ashley didnt smile back, he knew she would never forgive him. He walked over to the libery to go sit down and think for a moment.

Ashley ate her lunch, alone, as always. She sighed, throwing away her trash. Finally, the end of the day came. Ashley walked home, and when she came in her mom was sitting in the living room. "Mom?" Ashley said softly. "Honey, Dylan's mom died. She was in a car accident, and she was pronounced dead on the scene." Ashley's jaw dropped. "Oh my God!" She said in shock. Dylan's mom was so sweet. She stared down at the floor, wondering if Dylan knew yet. Her mom was best friends with Dylan's mom. "Mom, I'm so sorry!" She hugged her mom, and her mom sobbed softly.

When the end of the day came Dylan went home to find his sisters and his dad in the living room, "Where's mom?" Dylan asked sensing something was wrong, his sisters started crying, "Dylan... your mom's died in a car accident." his dad told him unconfortably. His sisters all crowded around him and hugged him close but he just stood there, his fists clenched trying not to cry. He didnt know what to do, he loved his mom so much, more than anyone... and now... she was gone.

The first person he wanted to talk to was Ashley...
