Victor felt so weak and helpless because he couldn't do anything to stop this from happening. No words, violence or otherwise could stop the decision. He couldn't stand the feeling. He was so used to being the protector and the hero, especially for his sister.
He smiled as she spoke of writing everyday,
"And I'll meet every letter of yours with a reply".
When Alruna came and interrupted them by informing Miyuki that her carriage awaited, Victor glared at her coldly. He didn't mean to, it wasn't her fault, but he was still angry that she was being taken away.
Miyuki had held onto him a little longer before demanding him at her wedding, which there was no objection from Victor.
"I wouldn't have it any other way, Miyuki. I would be honored", he said in a comforting voice and held her hands as she gave him a kiss on the cheek before walking away.
Making his way to the door, Victor stood with his parents as Miyuki got into the carriage and bid them all farewell. Having never felt sadness this strong, Victor's eyes almost began to tear-up. He had to hold it back and control himself. It felt like his beloved little sister was going away for good, but he reassured himself that he would see her again.
As the carriage rode off, Victor's dad turned to him with a sad look upon his face.
"Son, your bride-to-be, Lillith Grey, the Princess of the Soul Kingdom, should arrive here shortly. Please get ready for her arrival. We're having a special dinner prepared in honor of the union"
"Yes, father", Victor's voice was filled with a cold bite.
Entering back into his home, it already felt empty and lonely without Miyuki around. Victor made his way to his room and began polishing his armor for his future bride's arrival. Most nobles had special attire for formal events, but Victor felt his armor held more honor than any suit.
