xxThe gentle Angel Princess was floating through the house with a bored expression on her face. "Amaryllis?" called her mother in a gentle voice, "Amaryllis come in here." she added. with a gentle sigh, she went towards her mother's voice. "yes, mother?" she asked softly as she entered the room. "Amaryllis I have some news for you, and I would like you to sit down, please." she informed her in the same soft voice. Amaryllis obeyed. she sat next to her mother and waited for more information. "Amaryllis, you are nineteen now, and you are a strong girl, so I need you to do this for your people and for your family." "what is it mother?" "You are arranged to marry the Demon Prince" she said timidly. Amaryllis's face dropped as she felt her eyes pop wide. Without a word, Amaryllis fled from the room and went to her own to sob her little heart out.

xxThe quiet Ice Princess was thinking of ways to defy her parents as she walked through the house with a bored expression on her face. "Miyuki?" called her mother in a gentle voice, "Miyuki please come in here" she added. with a gentle sigh, she went towards her mother's voice. "Yes, mother? What is it?" she asked softly as she entered the room. "Miyuki, I have some bad news for you, and I would like you to sit down, please." she informed her in the same soft voice. Miyuki obeyed. She sat next to her mother and waited for more information. "Miyuki, you are nineteen now, and you have grown to be a strong girl, so I need you to do this for your people and for your family." "What is this about mother?" "You are arranged to marry the Fire Prince" she said to her before she bit her lower lip. Miyuki's face dropped as she felt her eyes pop wide. Without a word, Miyuki fled from the room and went to her ice wonderland of a room to sob her eyes out. Miyuki's Mother moved to her daughter's room. "Miyuki, you are to head off to The Prince's home as soon as you pack everything" she said to her softly before she turned around and walked out of the room.

It was about early morning or late afternoon the Earth Princess out in the kingdoms garden picking vegetables with the hired villagers as she waited to her morning duties. Didn't seem right to have them do all the work with no help at all, pulling a pepper into her hands she split it in half a boy younger then she by at least ten years was helping his father and mother this morning. "You can have the other half." Athena smiled, the village boy smiled grabbing the pepper from her and started eating.

Finishing up the mundane task she laughed standing up in the morning/afternoon sun Athena whipped away some sweat and started making her way back into the castle making sure to wave goodbye to the workers. With dirt prints leading into the main room where her mother and father were Athena smiled waving at them. "Morning mother, father." but before she could leave the room her mother grabbed her wrist and walked her over to one of the chairs. "Sit down my darling, your father and I have some news for you." Giving her parents a strange look she sat down folding her hands into her lap as she waited for what was about to come. "Athena...my only daughter, your mother and I have come to the conclusion that we need to stop the war with the Light Kingdom, they are ruining our crops and bringing out the worst in our people from having to live in darkness. And as a peace offering..." thats when her father cut off and started to cry a little.

Personally for Athena she has never seen her father cry and well frankly it scared her a bit. Looking up to his wife he asked threw sobs and tears if she could finish. Nodding at her husbands disition the queen tapped her nails against the table. "As a peace offering you and the Prince of the Light Kingdom are to be married." Blinking for a minute Athena laughed almost falling out of her chair but caught herself before she could get hurt. "Oh yeah good one. I'm just gonna go pack my things and get ready for the rest of my life." she laughed walking down the halls of the castle.

With one of the maid coming over and actually telling her that what she just heard was true and that a few maids would be up to help her pack in a minute. Stopping on the third flight of stairs she sat down thinking for a few moments making sure to take it all in.

It was a nice day at least, the red haired girl noted. It was warm. But it was almost always warm here. She liked it warm. She brushed her bangs out of her eyea so she could better see the snake that was at her feet. Somehow, she always atrracted reptiles. She knelt down and gently ran a hand across the black reptile's back. "You're not dangerous. I don't know why the others are so scared of you" she said to the reptile. He hissed in reply, but she didn't know what he'd said. She sighed, standing and brushing dust off her white dress.

"Colette, come in here please" she heard her mother call. Colette sighed. It was never a good thing when her parents wanted to talk to her. She'd never had a good conversation with her parents. Every time they'd spoken it had been to give her bad news. Like the time her cat died, or when they told her that her tutor would be gone for a whole year. It wasn't often she spoke with her parents. It wasn't often she even ever saw them. She knew they'd never shown up at any of her kendo matches. Nor did they even try to help her at all. But she liked her tutor. He was always there for her. And she knew she could count on him for the truth.

The red head entered the building through the side door she'd used to get out. She made er way to the library where she knew her mother and fathr would be at this time of day. "Yes mother? Father?" she asked, as if what they had to say meant little to her and she knew it wouldn't be something she'd like to hear. She noted that her father was refusing to look at her, as always, and her mother's eyes were cold. But then again, what else was new? They saw her as a disappointment. A failure. She couldn't even control her power after all. Why should they be proud of her for anything else she'd accomplished? "Colette, you're 19 now. You're no longer a child. We're sure you're aware that the war between lands must stop. And so, all of us, the kings and queens of all the lands, have decided to stop this war by marriage. You are to be wed to the Prince of the Land of Water. You will leave as soon as you pack. There will be no arguing this" she said factually, leaving no room for Colette to be surprised.

Colette's violet eyes closed for a second, one that felt like forever. The plants that perched themselves against the windows for the light burst into flames. "I understand" she muttered crossly. She turned and left the library, glad that her anger had only attacked the plants and not the books. It would have been a shame to have destroyed even one of those books. They were all good books. She'd read almost every one in that library. She could hear some of the maids scrambling to get water to put out the fires.

Colette went up to her room, pushing the door open to find her tutor sitting on her bed with a suitcase open beside him. "Colette, I wish I could tell you that your parents were kidding when they told you. But I can't. I'll miss you, my dear Colette. You'll take care of yourself there right? You won't let him push you around will you?" he said, sadness in his voice and his eyes. Colette closed the distance between them quickly, hugging him tightly. "Of course. And I'll come and visit you whenever I can" she said. She could feel tears sting her cheeks. She didn't want to leave. She liked it here, with her friend.

Victor awoke later in the day as usual as he had a tendency to favor the night more and remain active after darkness fell. Getting dressed in his casual padded armor shirt and toughened leather leggings over thick wool pants, he proceeded to the kitchen. On his way he witnessed his sister Miyuki rush by and confine herself to her room, followed by their mother who seemed to have a look of concern on her face. could just be Miyuki in trouble again or being dramatic about something. "G'morning, mom..", Victor said in passing with a bit of residual sleepiness in his voice. She slowed her pursuit momentarily to address him, "Good morning. Your father wanted to speak to you, I--..I have to deal with Miyuki. Excuse me.". Victor nodded in acceptance to his mother and proceeded to the kitchen where he prepared his own breakfast. Typically the chef would cook their meals, but Victor sometimes felt like keeping himself from getting rusty in the kitchen and cook his own meals.

Placing his food upon the plate as it finished cooking, Victor sat at the large dinner table meant for the whole family. It was a simple meal, steak and eggs with a tall glass of milk. Protein. Essential to Victor's diet.
As he ate Victor's father approached the table with a strange air about him, he seemed to have some grim news to deliver by his expression.
"Victor, my son..My strong, noble son. My heart swells with pride with each year as you've grown into a great man.", he paused for a moment to sigh and fix his eyes upon Victors with a stern glare, "I have some news about the wars..And it concerns you personally more than the rest of us.".
Victor looked at his father with a puzzled look as he swallowed a hearty mouthful of food and followed it with a gulp of milk, "Really, now? How, exactly, does it concern me directly?"
Victor's father's eyes trailed down for a second as he exhaled another sigh before fixing his glare in his son's eyes again, "A peace treaty is to be signed..Along with an offering to honor it", Victor's eyes widened at the news but he bit back his words to allow his father to continue, "..We are to offer you and your sister to marry one from another kingdom. Yo--", the king's words cut short as he could clearly see anger boiling in Victor's eyes, "Victor?..Victor, calm yourself, please. This is in the name of peace!".
His words barely met Victor's ears, as the previous statement still burned upon them. He couldn't stand his younger sister being offered as well.
"No, father! I will not calm down! Why does Miyuki have to be offered up, too!? Why!? Am I not enough to satisfy their sick demands!? She should remain here, safe!", Victor roared out in anger as he stood, smashing his right fist into the large marble table in the outburst, leaving large cracks along the surface, "No! I will kill them all before they take her away and offer her up to some stranger like livestock, father! Let them take me, but leave her out of this sick deal!".
Victor's father stood as well and rushed over to his son, grabbing him by the arms and giving him a slight shake to get his attention. The large prince stood but a few inches taller than his father at six-foot four inches with a strong, muscular build, which made his father one of the only men to ever grab Victor in such a way.
"CALM YOURSELF! You will listen to reason! This is in the name of peace, do you understand that!? Do you like our people dying out there in these wars? Do you like taking the lives of our enemies? This is for the greater good! Regretfully, it requires great sacrifice of you and your sister..But think of the impact it will make, Victor!", the king's tone shifted to a reasonable one as if he were negotiating with his son.
"I..I understand..It would be my honor to go through with this...In the name of peace..But, Miyuki..", Victor paused as if to be struck by an epiphany, "Miyuki! Where is she!? Miyuki!!", he stormed off shouting his sister's name through the hall, his deep voice almost rumbling the walls as it echoed.

At first, he sounded mad, as if she had done something to upset him, but as he kept calling her name, he sounded like he got more and more frantic. She poked her head out of her room to see her brother jogging through the halls, his armor clanking as he went. Her eyes went wide when she noticed the worry on his face, so she stepped out of her room and looked up at him. His six foot complexion towered over her mere five feet four inch self. "What is it brother?" she asked in her gentle voice, but it sounded thick as if she had been crying. She closed her eyes for a moment before she realized what was wrong. "You got the news as well. I have to marry the Fire Prince." she said quietly to him before she looked down and tried to hold in her tears. She couldn't hold them back and her shoulders started to tremble as she sobbed her heart out. She threw her arms around Victor and cried more. She was scared and she didn't want to leave the safety of her home.

Lillith sat in her room, brushing her long, blue hair. It was strange, she looked different from most of the royals in the Soul Kingdom, but it didn't matter. She had her mothers eyes, and she loved them. She could hear a faint whisper coming from the room next to her and she cocked her head to the side. she closed her eyes, it was her mother and her father. Focussing, she was able to zone in on their voices. "I think you should tell her, it would be best." that was her father. Lillith frowned. "Tell me what?" as these thoughts ran through her head her hearing caught one last sentence before it cut out. "Though the Ice Prince better be honoured to have her." Wait.. what? Lillith blinked at the mirror. When she heard footsteps and her mother entered the room.
"What is this of the Ice Prince?" Lillith asked nervously. She was a shy thing, very fragile. Her mother sighed. "We have told you many times darling, we don't like you to use your pwers for eavesdropping." her mother said, placing her hand on Lillith's shoulder. "And I've told you many times mother.... I can only keep it up for a short time." Lillith responded as she looked up into the mirror. "Listen love... the war... it may stop." her mother began, which caused Lillith to listen, she hated the war. "Which would mean peace as you know.. but love you must... marry the Ice Prince." her mother finished with a weak smile, she looked as if she was going to cry. "You're brother has to marry too.... he is to marry the Dark Princess."
Lillith didn't know whether to be angry or upset, her mother had told her to pack her things and be ready to depart. Already? Lillith hadn't answered her mother, she'd sat there silent, as if she hadn't heard, as if she had turned her eyes off. Lillith stood and slowly walked over to her bed. She'd have to leave everyone? Her family, her friends, her brother! She loved her brother more than anything. Then she re-called that her mother had said her brother was to marry. She hardly saw this situation as fair, but if it meant peace for her people, she'd go quietly.

A beeping rang through the relatively small room. A groan cut through the loud noise before a pale limb reached out of the darkness of under the comforter and slapped the beeping device. So one noise was silenced, but another began. The knocking of a gentle hand against the heavy wooden doors. "Master Akio, breakfast is ready, and your mother would like to speak to you" the maid called in a gentle tone to the boy. The comforter folded to reveal a boy of about 19, illuminated by the small shards of light that pierced through the edge of the curtains. Clearly, he wasn't wearing a shirt. He muttered something along the lines of 'not even hungry, want to sleep' before getting up and opening the door. He was wearing plain black pajama pants. "Thank you, Milly. Tell mother I'll be down in a few minutes" he answered politely. Milly, the blonde haired maid whom often helped Akio with anything he needed, found herself holding eye contact with those white eyes of his that didn't see more than a blur. Akio watched the blonde with curiosity as she recomposed herself, curtseyed, and left to deliver his message. He let the door shut silently.

He changed into his usual jeans (with belt and large skull belt buckle) and overcoat, once again, no shirt. He left his coat unbuttoned. He found the familiar piece of long cloth he used as a blindfold. There was no point in seeing nothing but a blur, so he chose not to see at all. Plus, it made the maids feel more comfortable around him. He tied the cloth over his eyes, the familiar darkness surrounding him once again.

Akio left his room, heading down to the dining hall where he found his mother waiting. He could tell it was her. Soul color: blue, warmth: mild. "Ah, Akio, there you are. Won't you sit down?" his mother said, motioning to the seat across from her. Akio remained standing. "I know you don't like talking to me. Neither of you do. You don't think much of me just because I'm not 'normal'. Tell me mother, what sort of bad news do you have for me?" he said icily. He didn't much like his parents, but he was determined to have them regocnise him for something. The queen sighed. "Very well. Akio, you know as well as I that this war needs to stop. We've prepared for it to end. But, there will be sacrifice to it" she told him. When he waited, she continued. "You are to marry the Princess of the land of Darkness. We, the kings and queens, have all agreed that this is the best thing for all the lands. Your sister will be wed as well. She will be leaving to go meet her fiance soon. So say your goodbyes now." Akio wished she could see the darkness in his eyes. Married? He was being forced to marry? What if the princess didn't want to meet him? Didn't like him? Didn't see him as good enough because he was blind. He nodded in understanding, playing it off as nothing to him.

Akio turned and left the dining hall, no longer the slightest bit hungry. He searched the house mentally for a minute. He felt his siter's presence, fire-warm, pink, up in her room. He knew that's where she was. He moved upstairs and knocked gently on her door. "Lillith, can I come in?" he asked quietly, calmly. He loved his sister so much, even though he generally kept to himself. He still loved her more than any other girl. After all, she was his little sister. He wasn't sure how he felt about letting her go away, even if it meant peace between lands.

xxxxxxxxAkiko Yamamoto, the son of the Dark Kingdom, sat on the green grass in front of his father's castle. There was nothing to do better than examining the health of his sword. He grabbed his sword from his side and untied it from his waist. He held the hilt of the sword and slide it gracefully from its sheath. He turned it right and left looking at the glare that the sun reflected off of his sword. It was still good as knew, but it didn't hurt to clean it every now and then, just like humans who needs to bathe every single day. Setting his sword down on his left, he grabbed the white cloth that the maid had brought and poured some cleaning grease on it. Picking his sword back up again, he wiped his sword starting from near the hilt and down to the sharp point. Satisfied, he stuck it back into its sheath and tied it back onto his waist. Snapping his finger and thumb together, the maid came running to his side. "Take these utensils back to its place." The maid nodded and picked them scurrying back into the Kingdom. Picking himself up, he could see his father and his men entering the Kingdom by the gate.

xxxxxxxxHe needn't wait for his father because he was to get on to a meeting that was set at this Kingdom. Maybe he should just go check up on the generals and their troops just to make sure that they were in shape. As he arrived at the battle field, the generals were all teaching the newbies how to defend first before learning how to strike. It was one of the best method that only the Dark Kingdom used. If you don't know how to fight, at least you can defend yourself and live longer. "You're doing it wrong." he said to the trainee as he took his sword out and slapped the kid's leg to make his knee make the perfect angle. The kid thanked him and he moved on to the others. Some of them were just the same. Wrong angle, wrong leg, wrong arm. He just sighed and kept correcting them as the generals directed. "Akiko! Your father wants a word with you." the maid said bowing to him. He dismissed her with a hand wave and left to his father's study. When he got there he knocked and the doors opened. To his surprised his father's friends were still there.

xxxxxxxxHe walked over to his father as his father proudly hugged him. He, in return, just patted his father's back. "This is my son Akiko. He will be getting married to Rue Sanders, the Light Kingdom's princess." Hearing his father's word made his limbs get all loose. Marry? What? Why? Why now? His life just getting perfect. He was the best fighter in the Kingdom and he needn't a wife. But he knew that he couldn't do anything but agree. He could rebel, but that wouldn't be right. His parents took great care of him and in return he must give them good service. "Another announcement, my daughter Roseanna will also be marring Akio, the Soul Prince." Her too? Wow... was one child getting married not enough? What was his father trying to accomplish? Nodding to his father's friends, he excused himself. He was just about to go to his room to think this all through, but he was stopped by his mother. "If only you didn't put your father first, you wouldn't be in this situation dear." he looked away from his mother as she rubbed her hand on his cheek.

xxxxxxxxFuma Mitsuharu, the Fire Prince, looked at the map on his desk and grabbed a feather pen. He traced the map with the feather's tip to verify if that was the path that he wanted to make. After going through it a few times, he nodded his head and now tracing it with the pen's ink. The generals and leaders sat there just watching him not throwing out any ideas at all. His father was there as well. Fuma them put the pen down and crumpled the map up again. He grabbed a new one and did the whole process over. The people were amazed at how many maps he had wasted. Did he like planning this much because all the people there wanted to leave the room bad. Be he could careless if they wanted to leave because he liked planning. "I got it." He said standing up from the chair that he was sitting in and gripped the map in his hands lifting it up and showing the people. He explained the plan to them and they nodded in agreement and applaud. Fuma couldn't be more proud.

xxxxxxxxEveryone left his study room and went back to their homes. His father was also gone. But he remembered that his mother wanted to talk to him and she said that it was very important. But if it was then why was his father not part of the conversation? It was all just too strange. Usually his sister would be in the conversations as well. Waiting for his mother's arrival, he said sat on his chair and tapped his foot. His mother was taking an awful long time. What could she be doing? He sighed and stood up from the chair once again. Walking over to the door, he gripped the knob and opened it. To his surprise his mother was just about to knock. He let out a soft laugh and moved to the side to allow her to come in. Once she did he closed the door and went back to his comfortable chair. His mother seemed a bit tense but he didn't know why. "Honey, um... your father and I have came to an agreement." she started off. He wondered what the agreement was about.

xxxxxxxxNot saying anything, he let his mother continue. It took her a while before she said something. What was making her stall so long? Was she about to have a heart attack or something? "The agreement was to marry Miyuki Mizeruki Kimura, the Ice Princess." he looked at her eye-wide as if he had not hear her clear enough. She said it again and again. He sighed and looked at his mother in disbelief. Did she not understand him? He is a man of the battlefield and he might die some day. He wants to die with nothing to leave behind. Getting married was the last thing on his mind. If he did get married and died in battle, then she would be left all alone with kids and no one to care about them. "Mother, I'm not in the mood right now." his mother nodded and just left. Was his sister getting the same news as well. He closed his eyes and laid his head back. This was just great.

xxxxxxxxHojo Tokimune, the next heir of the Water Kingdom, lazily laid on his bed. He didn't feel like he wanted to do anything. He never gets lazy. But if he did, it was once in a blue moon. It wasn't like him to be like this. He was always active by taking walks around the Kingdom and through the forests. He usually watched the fishes in the lake and animals running past him. But maybe today wasn't the day for him. Maybe he was to rest because something big is heading his way. Tossing the blanket back over him, he closed his eyes and tried to go to sleep. But it wasn't working. He removed the black over his head and sat up. He heard the door knob move and looked over to the door. It was no other than a maid that his mother had assigned to watch him. "Sir, I brought you lunch. Your mother and father are worried about you since you have been in bed all this morning." she said as she placed the food on his lap. He thanked her as she left him to be alone. The maid always knew what he liked best. He always had the best breakfast in the word. He smiled and picked up the utensils and started munching down on his food.

xxxxxxxxAfter the was done eating, he picked up the bell that was on his pillow and ringed it twice. The maid came back in and grabbed the plates and cups and went to the kitchen to clean it all up. He was just about to get out of bed but his parents came rushing in. He looked at them with a questionable look. They just looked at each other and smiled. The both came and sat at the foot of his bed and looked at him. "Okay... what's going on? I'm not going anywhere anytime soon." he joked as she faked a cough. His parents shook their heads and laughed along with him. But his parents knew that he was going to go away soon. He was going to build a family of his own and take care of them. "Honey, you are actually going to go away." his mother said rubbing his knee. He looked at he confused and didn't say a word to them. Were they going to send him away? Did he do something wrong that they felt that he needed to be punished else where? His father cleared his throat and said, "Well... you going to marry the Fire Princess, Colette Raven Fira. Just like how your sister is going to marry Air Prince." He opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out. His parents left him to be.

xxxxxxxxHe let out a large sigh as he threw off the covers. He jumped out of his bed and walked over to the large window. He looked outside and everyone were doing their assigned jobs. Kids swung their swords and little girls picked flowers with their parents. It was a peaceful kingdom in the world. Was he going to miss all this when he is gone away married to a woman that he did not know? He would be sad. He liked it here. It was his home and forever it will be. He didn't want to leave. Maybe he was being a baby, but he loved his home sweet home. Embracing his fate, he changed into his daily outfit and grabbed his sword. Maybe a few swings with his weapon would help keep him calm like he always was. It'll help take things off of his mind and at the same time help him take his anger all out. Walking out of the Kingdom, he kind of ignored everyone. Yes he was having a bad day now. He's gonna go have some fun on his own before he gets settled down with a Princess, soon to be wife, that he does not know.

Rue Sanders sat with her back against a apple tree. She munched on the sweet fruit as she was nearing the end of her book. Normally she would be cooped up in her room doing something her mother would want her to do. Like dress up, and try to act even more proper than what she already was. At times it was a pain, but Rue would just bite her tongue as she did what she was told.

She bit her lip and bounced her knee as she had gotten so sucked into her book. It was one of Pirates and far off lands where a hero swooped down and save the fair maiden that never did deserve him. Though how else would a book sell if not for all the cliches and unlikeliness? Once finished witht he book Rue laughed and stood. She looked over to where the war was, or the frontlines were. They were that far from where she sat, though she wasn't suppose to be there. She shook her head and sighed sadly as she put the hood of her cloak on, grabbed a couple apples to place in her basket along with her book, then headed back to the castle.

The only ones who knew she snuck away were her brother, Finnian and a couple maids that she had befriended. Though Finnian got on her case about it almost all the time, she knew he did it because he cared.

Rue made her way back to the castle, going through the servants entrance to the castle nodding at the maid that had snuck her out earlier. "Princess you mother has requsted your pressance at once in tea room. She also would like you to at least eat while with her. She said something about you never seeming to be hungry?" the maid question as Rue laughed and shook her head. Of course her mother would question why she never seemed to be hungry anymore, but the truth was she always found some place to eat whenever she snuck away.

Once in her room she took her cloak off and changed into her brunch outfit. The she left to find her mother. "Hello Mother, nice to see you this afternoon." she said happily as she sat across the Queen and began serving herself to eat. The Queen watched her closesly, and wouldn't speak until Rue finished off her lunch.

"Rue dear, I have news....and it may be upsetting but know it is in the name of Peace." her mother said slowly as Rue nodded for her to continue. "Because the war is rising in deaths your father and I have agreed, along with the other Kingdoms, that it would be in everyone's best interest if you were to wed Akiko Yamamoto, the Prince of the Dark Kingdom. Now we know you may hate the idea, but it is in the name of Peace...Your brother will have to wed also. Though you will be..sent off to the Dark Kingdom to know your new Husband. I shall leave you to prepare to leave soon." she said simply as she dismissed herself and Rue and left the room.

Rue sat there, no knowing what to say. After what seemed hours, but was only a mere few minutes, she stood numb as she made her way to her room and began to back. It wasn't until she made it to her room that she thought of how upset her brother must have been when he found out. Not only of his marrige but of hers. Finnian was her ver protective older brother and knew he'd be mad that she was being shipped off to some kingdom to wed the prince there. Though she supposed everything was for the best....

xxxxxxxxShima Katsuhisa, the Earth Prince, ran through the forest together with a couple of villagers who have given him the news that there were raiders on their way to raid their village and they were sure of it. He just didn't understand why raiders always took from the poor. What about the rich? Were they afraid that the rich were going to take revenge or kill them off? That was the only valid solution. For the poor, they probably won't attack back, and if they do they will for sure fail if they have no strong leader as the village raiders do. As he arrived at the village, the raiders too just got there. The leader got off the horse and grabbed a guy by the shirt and said something. Shima and the others were way too far to hear what they were saying. He also could not make out the words coming out of his lips. "You guys go ahead first. I'll attack when there is an opening." The others nodded and jumped out of their hiding place and approached the leader of the raiders. Shima sat in the tree and watched from afar. And he will make sure that no one will lose their life today.

xxxxxxxxThe talking was going on long enough. He was starting to get bored. But he had to wait. And there it was. The leader laughed with his hands up in the air. Shima jumped out in the air and took out his lance, which at this point was in half, and slammed it on the leaders shoulder. The other raiders got off their horse and stopped laughing. The battle had began. The other villagers helped as will with their pitchforks and swords. Slicing here and there, he wounded several and was no where near killing them. The leader called the battle off and ran away. Shima laughed out loud and raised his lance, now in one piece, in the air for victory. The people yelled out and laughed along with him. Being victorious was a wonderful feeling. But it was also another way of waiting for another raid. Turning around to the rest of the villagers, he said "Well... it's time to clean up." he said chuckling. He helped them cleaned up and was on his way back home. He remember his father telling him to be home on time because he had something important to tell him. Waving to the people, he ran back through the forest to his home.

xxxxxxxxArriving at the gate of the Kingdom, he waved to his mother and went straight to the library. His father was there and his sister was no where to be seen. "Great you are just in time. I'm going to make this short since your sister didn't really have the best reaction." Problem with what? Did his sister just agree to what his father said again? He had always told her that her doings and thoughts were hers alone and no one can tell her what to do. She was free like how he was. "What do you mean father?" he asked as he crossed his arms curiously thinking about what his father was trying to tell him. His father stood up from the chair that he was sitting in and started to walk around. "You're going to marry the Air Princess, Kat. And your sister on the other hand is marrying Finnian Sanders, the Light Prince." He couldn't believe the words his father was saying. He was not going to get tied down. He was to do what he wanted. He left his father to be alone. Even though he did not say anything to his father, he still is going to rebel. He's not going to go along with this.

Light Prince Finnian

His hand trembled, pressed against the banister of the staircase he had descended in an effort to cease the show of weakness. The weight of the world came crashing down on his shoulders. Feeling as if he would suffocate beneath the force, he hurriedly made his way to the right and down the hall for his personal chambers. He threw his body against the door and stumbled in to the wooden bench at the foot of his bed. A white glove slapped the letter onto the polished surface as he fell to his knees. "Hear me," he pleaded, his brow creased with concern. The prince took hold of the chained cross about his right wrist, always near for comfort and prayer, to which he fell in this troubled mix of emotion brought on by the penning of the letter. "God, watch over my sister and guide her with your Light in the coming Darkness..." Finnian was a devout follower as most of the kingdom were; he clasped his hands together over his cross just beneath his nose, his lips moved to whisper words of scripture almost every morning and evening. When times were difficult, he sought the comfort of the Higher Power, finding nothing greater than knowing it was a part of a grand plan, a test for the faithful.

His dull dray eyes closed and his breathing slowed, calming, he ended his prayers and stood. A servant waited patiently in the doorway, having seen him come from the stairs and offered her assistance. "No, I do not need anything but this letter to be sent straight away... ah, one moment," he said and turned to pick it up from the crafted wood to take to his writing desk. There, he scrawled a final line and signed his name. He waited for the ink to dry, blowing on it softly and waving the paper a minute before he delicately folded and inserted it into an envelope. An envelope which he addressed to the princess of the Earth kingdom, Athena. His father had discussed with him the arrangement calmly and understandably solemnly, mentioning casually towards the end, however, the fate of his younger sister. That was the blow to him, the burden. "This must be delivered into the princess's own hands. Not her father's, not her brother's--and do send the fastest, most trusted messenger." The content of the letter wasn't of too much import, but Finnian valued privacy and would have it that his words not embarrass him to the males of the formerly enemy-family. His penmanship was excellent, though his skill with language to the fairer sex wasn't up to par--Finnian's letter was stiff, dull, heavily referring to the virginal marriage to come though his intentions were not to come across as a stuffy old clergyman, but as one to reassure her of fair treatment in her stay and formally signing him onto an agreement should she write him back.

Finnian had his mind shift from his engagement to his sister's. To send one of their own away to that dark place... he couldn't imagine what it would be like. He reminded himself of what was right and what was taught, that he should not bear hatred toward others nor judge them without a chance to prove themselves. He stamped the red wax with his signet ring and handed the letter over to the servant. She was a good woman and reassured him with a smile that it would be done before supper. "Thank you, Adalba," Finnian said to her and they parted ways, she heading to find the messenger and he, to find Rue.

"Oh! Your Highness!" Adalba called, turning to face him and he, her. "I must mention, as you have told me, Princess Rue has left the castle walls earlier this morning. She has just returned and takes tea with Her Majesty," the maid kept her voice low as she reported, giving a curtsey when Finnian thanked her once more and dismissed her on that errand he would like done. Quickly, he went in the direction of the tea room. He arrived somewhat later, however, as the servants were just clearing the table.

"Where is my sister?" he posed the question, walking swiftly through the room and finding her outside, just beginning to move into the doorway of her bedroom. "Rue!" Finnian called to her, wishing to gain her attention before she entered and he would be forced to knock. He reached out for her arm, his mouth falling open to speak, but he was unsure of where to begin--this morning or this afternoon or this very moment in which he stood? He looked down at her, every inch of them similar in ways that could only bring up 'they're siblings'. "This..." Should he comfort her, scold her? He gauged her reaction to his appearance and searched the expression on her face.
