Naturally Tony was just teasing, he knew that he wasn't as charming as he lead on when being silly and mock bragging. After all how charming could a sweetheart -who felt the urge to gag when something even slightly romantic or heartwarming was said or heard- be? Although taking a moment to look around the room, Tony was caught off guard when the pajamas he'd be wearing tonight came flying in his direction. Through some miracle or another, Tony manged to catch the wad of clothes, only to have the shirt slump and slide out of his awkward grip only to land in a crumpled heap on the floor. Crouching down to pick them up, Tony did manage to notice her playful glare. . .which would have been convincing if he hadn't caught on that she was being playful about the whole thing "Oh really." He responded intrigued as she said 'don't be so sure' and then proceeded to tell him that he wasn't as charming as he thought, No way! Really? He thought sarcastically but kept that to himself, after all it suddenly seemed to become a little tense in the room, as if the walls had just shurnk in ever so slightly. Standing back to his full height, Tony turned to face Vince as he began speaking, possibly defending his sister or something, but it wasn't like Tony had launched some verbal assault or anything but he listened to Vince, obviously interested. "Not her fellow nerds?" Tony repeated curiously again, looking from Vince over to Jessica as her mouth fell open, I'm sensing some foul play here. Tony thought tempted to ask if she went for the nerdy type but decided that would be a question for a more appropriate time.

Although Tony came to a complete stop when he said that she broke up with her 'nerd' lastnight, Jess seemed to be just as shocked as Tony was, if not more. At the moment he wasn't exactly sure what he could say, or should say. . .not like Tony could really say anything, he had no idea that Jess had broken up with this Dex guy the night before. Well that sounds like quite the evening. Tony thought to himself, I hooked up with Scarlett and Jess broke up with her 'nerd'. He thought, keeping his side of the story to himself unless of course someone asked, after all he figured that bragging about the amazing night before wasn't exactly the best idea. By now the room had shrunk to an unimaginable size, in fact it was almost suffocating, but Tony jumped out of the way as soon as a baseball came sailing in the direction of both he and Vince, more Vince than either of them. As the awkward moment continued Tony just stood there looking between the two and biting down on his lower lip waiting for something to happen that didn't involve hurling more things around the room. I think I'd rather be out in the rain right now, Tony thought just as Jess stormed out of the room and left Tony with a parting statement that left Tony confused. . .it was a cross between somberness and something else that was intangible even to Tony's incredible people skills. . .which actually weren't that incredible. All he really did was nod and watch as she glared at Vince once more and then left Tony in the room with Vince, who was obviously feeling the guilt until he found the perfect distraction.

As soon as Jess had left the room seemed to grow back to normal size but Tony still felt bad about the whole thing, if he'd known about the whole thing he wouldn't have acted so nonchalant about everything, but then again Jess seemed to act as if nothing was wrong either, but apparently there was and Tony did feel bad for her, after all he knew what it was like to break off a long relationship "No. . .um, it's alright." Tony said a little distractedly but quickly refocused on what Vince was telling him about the whole thing "Sounds like that barbeque was quite the little get together." Tony said "But I'm guessing that she didn't want me to know about it either, not really sure why though." He said, mumbling the last part more to himself than anyone else. Juliana? Tony thought bemused, who the hell is Juliana? But he decided that it wasn't the best idea to ask so many questions about people he didn't really know, especially if they seemed to be some kind of 'soar subject' which Vince made her out to be. Although he quickly changed subjects back to the video game, Tony listened attentatively and watched him play for a few seconds "I remember seeing that movie." Tony said casually, I don't remember much about it though, he thought recalling the time he saw it back when he had just turned 15 or something like that. Didn't really see much of the movie actually, he thought shuttering at the whole memory just as Vince was finishing up the little tutorial on how to play this Eragon game. Personally Tony was the 'let's street race and beat the cops' kind of player, Tony loved cars with a passion but he hadn't actually sat down and played his playstation in a while actually.

"Looks cool." Tony said watching as Vince pressed the 'revive' option and resumed playing as if Tony wasn't even in the room. "But I think I'm going to change and meet your sister downstairs." He started "But it was nice meeting you Vince." Tony said walking out of the room, pajamas held in his one hand as he searched for an appropriate place to change, after all Tony loved pajamas. . .they were oh so comfortable. Finding a bathroom a few feet away from Vince's room, Tony stepped in and quickly stripped down and changed into the nice and comfy pajamas that Jess had found for him. "I'll be damned." He mumbled for himself as he snapped the wasteband against his waist "Fit's perfectly." Tony said before leaving the bathroom and heading back downstairs, bare feet padding against the floor as he began searching for Jessica. Feeling his way through the house, Tony found his way to the living room but wasn't exactly sure where he'd find Jess, except that she would be downstairs. . .he didn't exactly want to start calling her name again, after all he might call her Jessica again or get some kind of rude treatment from Matt for being so ignorant. Tony rolled his eyes at that but finally spotted Jess, and Tony could only assume that she probably wasn't too thrilled about this whole thing. Figuring that it would scare the crap out of her again to just stand there and stare at her, he decided to speak this time, much like he had before. "Hey." Tony started cautiously, pausing for a couple of minutes "Um. . .what was that all about?" He asked, still cautiously, after all he didn't exactly want something to come flying at his own head.

Mary smiled at Lewis when he helped her up but she grimaced afterwards because of the tight but sharp pain that shot threw her ankle. She waited patiently as he struggled against the wild wind to open up the door to his truck. She always admired his truck because it was one that they always could count on. If she was ever stuck in her poor old timey truck, she could always count on him to come and help her out. Sure there was that one time that he also got stuck it the big ditch with her. That just turned out with a mud fight. Then they had to call her mother to get her dad to come pull them both out. They both had to wash their trucks and then after they got done, it started to rain. The rain today just helped her remember that day. It was one of her fondest memories that she had with Lewis. They had a lot of great memories together and sometimes they even out weighted the memories that she had with Andrew and well, that wasn’t really right now was it?

That was one of the reasons that she thought that Andrew and she should have a break. One of the reasons, not all of them. Another one was that she felt that it was just not going anywhere. It just felt like they were in a blank spot in their relationship. How was she to know that he would take the break up as bad as she did? She fought day and night about weather she should end it or not and finally she just agreed to do it. Then the dreams started and she was haunted by them. She couldn't sleep right at nights and it

Thinking about Andrew reminded her about why she was at the park so long anyway. Lewis even asked her when he got back in the truck what made her stay out so late that she didn’t even notice the sky darkening outside. She smirked a little as he started the car and replied, “Well aren’t you always here to save me.” Then his other question came back and demanded an answer in her mind. She sighed as she pulled her wet hair into a ponytail as she debated on her answer. It took her a moment afterwards before she opened her mouth to reply to him. “I was thinking about something that happened today. I stayed after the boys’ baseball game and they took the four-wheeler. So I kind of had no way to get back home but to walk. I didn’t think about it starting to rain. It didn’t even look like it would. Now ….I’m soaked.” She said rubbing her hands down her bare legs wiping the many raindrops off her leg. She was soaked; she didn’t even want to sit back because she knew that the back of her shirt would stick to the seat. “Sorry to drag you out in this.“ She said with an apologetic grimace. She looked at him and then back at her soaked cowboy boots. “You know mom isn’t going to let you go back out in this right?” she joked about her mother and her overprotective ways. It was true. She just shook her head with a laugh as she tried to peer threw the window to see her house looming there. “Well here’s your last chance before you’re stuck here for the remainder of the storm.” She added as they pulled closer to the house. He could throw her out and make her walk the rest of the way and then back up till he could freely leave again. Deep down she knew that he would never do that to her. He was way too nice to do that to her. He was truly her best friend.

Best friend, best friend was that all she saw him as? She knew that deep down she didn’t and that bothered her. Why was she confusing herself with feelings? If she could just give them away to anyone that she wanted she would. She would get rid of them but she knew that it would be a slow and easy break for her. It wasn’t meant for her to live a sweet and peaceful life full of uncomplicated love stories. Now she felt as if she was turning into a big whore and she didn’t like that. She knew that she wasn’t in a relationship right now but when she realized she liked Lewis more than Andrew because they had more fun than when she was with Andrew, she felt too horrible. Now she is single, she is still torn between two guys and it doesn’t help that Andrew has move on so fast with that used to be blonde bimbo. Okay so she didn’t like Scarlett but she had her reasons besides that fact that she was after her last and first real boyfriend. No on the outside she wasn’t jealous and she would stick to that story no matter what even if Jess didn’t believe her. She was jealous on the inside but she wouldn’t let anyone else know that. She vowed that when she was swinging. If Lewis asked she would tell him the reason that she needed to think but she wouldn’t let on that she was jealous. She was the one who broke up with him after all.

As Andrew entered the house, Scarlett couldn’t help but feel more and more giddy as the night went along. Though it had only been a mere ten minutes since he’d arrived, she was still quite excited inside and could feel herself blushing on the outside. Biting her lip to contain all the crazy feelings she had right now, she tried her hardest not to fall in love with the idea of him and allow herself to be open to his personality and his uniqueness. In all her life, Scarlett had never met someone who was so adorable, both inside and out. She was used to jerks stealing her wallet or cheating on her in New York City. Never would she have expected to come to South Carolina and fall for someone who was as sweet and kind as Andrew.

Bringing him into the sunroom with a genuine smile on her face, she took another look at the layout and shivered. Her Grandparents had made this so well and she was glad she hadn’t done it. She would have made a huge mess and an awful impression on Andrew. She did know how to cook, but as a first date normally went, usually everyone else set up for you because you were too nervous to set up for yourself. Scarlett knew if she’d prepared the roast beef tonight she would have made a terrible mess and it would have either been overdone or underdone. Andrew seemed like too good of a person to mess up his food, and even if she had met him earlier she would not have thought twice about doing so.

As Andrew pulled out her chair, Scarlett flashed a large, pearly white grin. “Thank you, Andrew!” she said, taking a seat and crossing her legs, immediately placing her napkin and hands in her lap. She knew how to eat like a real lady, her Mother had taught her well. Although Scarlett did have manners, she wasn’t going to act like a debutante tonight. She wanted to have fun, she wanted to learn more about Andrew and she wanted to enjoy the night for what it was. Pushing herself in towards the table a little more, Scarlett was surprised to see Andrew place a flower in front of her. Though she’d seen it earlier, she did not want to assume too much, though now she knew who, what and why it was for.

With a large smile growing even larger, she accepted the rose and turned around and kissed his cheek. She had never heard anyone say something like that to her before. No New Yorker would tell her she was more beautiful than a unique rose, and Andrew had done just that. Feeling entirely weak in the knees, Scarlett knew this was going to be an amazing date. “Andrew, this is so beautiful. I think it’s the most gorgeous flower I have ever seen” she smiled, looking up at the sky as if to thank god. “Thank you for coming to dinner to, I think we’ll have a lovely evening” she said, in all honesty. “So, please tell me more about you” she said, grabbing a piece of roast beef and placing it on her fork to cut it. “Anything you wish” she said, looking out the window, spotting two old folks, namely her Grandparents, spying nearby, trying to be as invisible and low key as possible. With a slight giggle, she raised an eyebrow and took a small bite into her roast beef. “Looks like we have company” she said, adding some gravy and salt to her food. Regardless of, Scarlett knew tonight was going to be a great night, and she couldn’t wait for it to officially commence.

Most of the time Louie loved his truck, there were the rare occasions where he hated the thing, although it rarely failed him, all the more reason to love it. . .although there were a couple other times that it had caused him some difficulties; like the time the air conditioner went out and he about died anytime he had to drive it whenever it was hot. . .which was most of the summer but lucky for him his grandpa was one heck of a mechanic and fixed the air conditioner in nothing flat. There was also the time he was dropping Alex off at her house when the serpentine belt slid off and he couldn't do anything with the truck except turn it on. . .once again his grandpa saved him that time, it was the last time Louie ever let his step-dad mess with his beloved Ford truck. Then there was the time that Mary called him saying that she needed help. . .turns out she got her old truck stuck in a large mud ditch. Lewis drove out there to help her, having doubts about actually being able to pull her truck out. . .Lewis was right about that one, about all his little truck managed to do was make an even bigger mess. . .then he lost all traction and slid into the ditch himself, it was quite scary at first but it turned out to be the most fun he'd had in quite sometime, classic Disney movie moment type thing. Then of course when he got home and was covered in mud, his mother had one heck of a fit about the mess he'd made, but as far as Lewis was concerned, getting muddy and yelled at was way worth everything that had happened that day, it also gave him a good enough excuse to actually wash his vehicle, and washing his along with Mary and the sound of the radio he'd brought along with him made the whole thing even more fun. Louie rarely washed his car and let nature run it's course, but it never really did a good job of cleaning off his truck unless it was raining like this.

Oh great times. Louie mused just before Leelee began explaining her reasoning for being out in the storm, it sure better be a damn good one. Lewis thought, just glad that she was okay. . .except for the sprained ankle, but it could have been a lot worse. "Well I don't much think anyone else was going to do it. I mean the others are kind of pissed off at us and Jess hasn't been responding to any of my texts all day." Louie said furrowing his eyebrows at that, it was unlike her to leave either of them hangin' like that. . .unless of course she just ignored his messages or something, but that didn't seem Jess like. Maybe she's having a difficult time with this whole 'Dex' thing. Louie thought just before Mary began speaking again, Lewis driving cautiously the entire time, once again his horrid fear of hydroplaning getting the better of him. Louie listened to Mary's reasoning which was legitimate. . .most of it anyway, he wasn't exactly sure what she meant by thinking about 'something that happened today' but figured it was probably about Andrew if it had distracted her so much that she didn't even notice the sky growing ugly shortly after dinner time. . .although it was about dinner time anyway but still. "You were thinking about something." Louie repeated skeptically looking over at Leelee for a moment, both hands gripped to the wheel, normally he drove with one hand carelessly draped over the wheel but not in weather like this. "Care to share or would you rather not talk about it?" Louie asked as he looked back at the road and turned onto Mary's street and headed off towards her house, the storm raging on as if it were trying to blow the town away or scare Lewis back to his house, but he didn't exactly want to return. . .it was probably more exciting out in the pouring rain than around his parents and step sister.

"No, it's fine." Louie laughed "I couldn't just let my Leelee drown out in the rain like a heartless jerk." He continued on, still having trouble seeing through the sheets of rain that kept pelting his mossy oak green truck mersiously. Although he continued chuckling and shaking his head, not surprised when it came to what Mary said about her hair brained mother. "My own mother barely let me out in this." He started "Besides your house is much more exciting than mine at this point. . .we have no power and Mark is acting like a jerk because he has nothing better to do." He said in his usually chipper manner, even though he wasn't fond of his step-fathers behavior, sure Louie liked the guy most of the time but Mark had his annoying moments, especially when he was frustrated or got bored. . .and at this point Lewis figured that it was a combination of the two. Louie smiled as he saw the familiar shape of her house coming into what little view they had "I guess I'm going to take that chance. . .besides my mom wouldn't want me out any longer than I had. . .she'd probably pay your mom to keep me." He teased wheeling his truck into that covered part between the garage and main house. Yanking on the e-brake Louie turned the key and cut P!nk off in the middle of 'Who Knew' not to mention the sound of the engine. "I guess I'm stuck here." He teashed, shrugging helplessly before pushing the drivers door open and slamming it behind him before running to Leelee's door and opening the door for her "M'lady." He said kindly holding his arm out for hers to take, a support for her because she'd probably hobble a few steps and then fall over due to her sprained ankle. . .or something like that.

User Image"And I don't know why, but with you I dance,"

Vince did manage to look away from the screen to offer Tony a smile, "You too, dude." he told him before turning back to the screen to fight off the half-dead lion that had attacked him while he wasn't looking. "And don't worry about Matt. The guy lives off hatorade and lives for Jess. If you're here the whole summer, and come around often enough, he'll get used to you." Those were his parting words to Tony as his door shut, and Vince was left alone. Vince killed the lion, and then paused the game, dropping the controller to the ground and running his hands through his hair in a stressed manner. "Oh, God, Juliana, she needs you." Vince said, looking up at the ceiling, but his little sister couldn't hear him.

Jess was waiting downstairs in the living room. It was a couple minutes before she heard him trodding to the bathroom on the floor above them. She flopped down into their brown, very plush couch and waited for him to come down. It appeared while they had been up with Vince, Matt had come down to grab something to eat, and as he made his way back up the stairs, he gave her a look. She was tempted to say something nasty to him, considering how he's treated Tony, and she mulled over saying something that would have gotten her smacked at their great aunt's house in Alabama. Instead, she settled for flipping him off. He pretended to look touched, caught the symbol in his hands and held it to his chest; Jess made a point of looking unamused. She decided that Aunt Merideth's rules didn't matter, and said, "Oh, go screw yourself backwards."

Matt shrugged, hardly a change in his expression, but if you knew him well, you would be able to see the hurt in those brown eyes; he felt he was losing her. He started up the stairs, not saying a word, and passed Tony on his way up, but despite the hostility he'd shown to him earlier, Matt didn't even look up. He just walked past him and up to his room without so much as a pause. Jess had turned away from the stairs, and was staring out a window to see the rain pouring down the glass. It was why she didn't hear him come down, or see him hesitate on the stairs.

She turned to him when he said hey, and gave him a grin, trying to let him know that he wasn't a contributing factor in what had just happened upstairs, but, apparently, he didn't understand the grin because he asked. She turned herself on the couch so that she was facing him, and rested her head on her hands. "That was about my brother being a jerk; again. He brought up something that I didn't quite want anybody knowing about yet, let alone talking about it." She paused, and looked him over, noticing how the black shirt accented his muscles like they did her own brothers, and how the pants, though the were pajamas, always looked undeniably sexy on any man who was not her brother or father. Tony looked pretty good in them, and she found herself hoping that she would be able to see him like this again - stupid teenage hormones. "I broke up with my boyfriend last night, yes. But I don't want all the condolences that aren't really for me, but for the perfect couple that Folley Fields lost. They thought that we would be the ones to get out, go to college and get married." She gave a soured half scoff. "Couldn't have been more off."

Tony was somewhat surprised when Jess shot him a friendly grin, as if the whole drama upstairs hadn't happened at all. While Tony knew that he wasn't exactly the one to blame, he figured that Jessica would still be a bit bitter about the whole thing and wouldn't exactly want to put on some kind of friendly show just for Tony. . .because when Tony was upset about something, he didn't exactly care who saw that he pissed off or not, but he felt all warm and fuzzy inside when Jessica smiled at him. Although Tony managed to be his oblivious self and proceeded to ask what was wrong. . .and almost surprisingly enough that didn't seem to spoil her mood, too much anyway. When she continued to answer his question, Tony's facial expression remained relatively hard but really he was just listening to what she had to say, which revealed nothing more than it had upstairs, but Tony could understand why she didn't want to talk about it. Obviously, it was a soar subject and Tony knew that just as well as anyone else, because after he and Vanessa broke up Tony never wanted to talk about it either and it wasn't because it would send him into tears or anything, but it was just the simple fact that it-it, he couldn't exactly explain the emotion except that it was disappointment in himself and the fact that the relationship didn't work out plus he didn't want all the condolences and 'I'm sorry, you deserve better' kind of crap. Tony hated apologies and any kind of attention that was 'poor' attention. However, he wasn't exactly used to others sharing his same feelings on the whole thing.

While Tony knew that he could have gone with the whole 'I understand' thing, he remained silent and at a distance from Jess as she continued talking about this whole thing. However, once her second to last statement was uttered, Tony's eyes buldged out of his head, turns out he and Jess had more in common than Tony would have said. "Really?" He asked more excitedly than he really should have, which would have probably shocked Jess. "Oh no-no." He started realizing how eager he actually sounded "Sorry about that whole outburst." He started, walking over to the couch and taking a seat beside Jessica "It's just that I understand exactly where you're coming from." Tony continued on a much more controlled level "You see, I was in one of those kinds of relationships not too long ago." Tony started "Vanessa and I were the picture perfect couple, we always got compliments on how cute we were together, I'm not sure if people thought we were going to get married or anything but we were that kind of couple." He paused thoughtfully for a second "We were together for a long time, and during our relationship I couldn't have been happier." He continued, his voice growing more somber as he rested his elbows on his knees and twiddled his thumbs for a moment "But then after a while, we just kind of. . .fell out of it, y'know." He continued not really sure whether he was helping or if he was actually venting a little himself, but if he were actually venting it was in a rather calm and nonviolent way, but Tony figured that he was sharing this whole thing because it finally seemed like someone would completely understand the whole thing. "And after we broke up, I felt the same way. . .I didn't want the attention or apologies from anyone else." He paused for a second, looking up from his hands and over at Jess for a moment, his eyes ernest and sincere. "I don't like being comforted in the first place, but the more people tried to console me about it, the more annoyed I got with it. . ."

"Don't get me wrong though, I was sad about the whole break-up but I knew that it was for the best. . ." Tony trailed off looking back out the window as the rain pelted the glass furiously "I guess I just felt like I disappointed everyone else, they expected us to be together forever and. . .I felt as though we kind of let them down just because we didn't stay together." Tony sighed but then a small smile spread across his face "But we're still good friends, as awkward as that may seem I guess." He chuckled but then grew more serious once again, then looked at Jess with a friendly sort of expression "But since you probably don't want to hear me talk about my love life, or get the whole 'ice cream, guys are a jerk' treatment." Tony made sure to put 'ice cream, guys are a jerk' part in finger quotations as he talked "You can always just talk about it if you want. . .I've been told I'm a real good listener." He said the last part playfully, even Jess probably figured that he was one to talk a persons ear off if they'd let him "Or we could always find something else to do. . ." He said raising a playful eyebrow as if suggesting they should pull of some kind of trouble making caper. Although as he spoke, Tony managed to catch Jessica's eyes. . .those big, beautiful blue eyes. They were mezmorizing in a way and there certainly weren't any words to describe their intense blue-ness. . .and even with her curly blond hair in a messy bun/pony-tail and sporting something as simple as pajamas, she was still beautiful. Although Tony for one, never really thought something as simple and comfortable as pajamas could be flattering on anyone, much less himself but Jess seemed to pull them off rather nicely.

Surprisingly enough Tony felt attracted to Jess, but he was now realizing that this wasn't exactly something new. . .he'd felt it at the lake and. . .actually he hadn't really seen her much past then at least up until now. With that in mind though, Tony felt the strange desire to do this again. . .to spend time with Jess where they were just chilling out like this, whether they were just wearing pajamas or not, I should get stranded here more often. Tony thought comically to himself as he waited for Jess to respond.

User Image"And I don't know why, but with you I dance,"

After listening to all he was saying, Jess attempted to control herself, but the opportunity for it was just too good, so, turning to him with a very straight face - and man was that hard to do - she looked him straight in the eyes, and said, "I'm sorry." But then she couldn't hold in her smile anymore, and it spread across her face as she started giggling. She knew it wasn't that funny, but tense situations always difused after one of her bad jokes, and her giggles, because they were so high and childish, always put smiles on other people's faces. And though this wasn't tense, she wanted to see Tony smile at her again and again. She turned herself again so that she was facing Tony's side, her back up against the arm rest, and her toes just barely burrowed under Tony's leg. "Nah, I still plan on being friends with my ex too; don't want to lose him to all this madness like that." she said, shaking her head so that a lose tendril of her hair landed on her face.

She gave him another one of her Jess smiles. "And I don't think guys are jerks. Three out of five of my best friends are guys, including my ex. We ended amicably, if not mutually. But I don't think you're a jerk." she told him, smiling beautfully at him. She decided to take him up on the listening offer just then. "Since you told me about yours, its only fair that I tell you about mine. I promise to make this somewhat short." she said with another giggle at the somewhat. She must first tell him about the big rifts in her groups of friends.

She got herself comfortable, still leaning against the armrest to keep herself upright. This might be a bit of a long conversation, but she would try and smooth it out and shorten it if at all possible as she went through. "Alright, everything started a while ago. I had a group of friends; there were six of us total; three boys three girls. We've all been buds since Kindergarten up. When we hit fourteen, I guess we all started pairing off; me with my ex, Dex, my friend Mary with Dex's twin and my best friend of all time, Andrew, and my friend Alex - who is Dex's best friend - with Mary's bestie, Louis. Everything was fantastic until the first of us split off. Mary and Andrew were the first to go; Alex still hasn't forgiven Mary for breaking up with Andrew. Louis and Alex were next; again, Alex broke up with him. Mary hasn't forgiven her either." She paused for a minute as a particularly loud thunderclap nearly rattled the house, nearly scaring her out of her skin. If Andrew were here, she would have clung onto him like a scared kitty, but she just settled for scooting closer to Tony, who radiated 'safe' as far as she was concerned.

Once she was done cowering from the storm, cause she was so damn jumpy, she decided getting to the dirty details of the story; it didn't hurt much, or anything, it was just a shock to her. "After Alex broke up with Louis, she because a little extra flirty, and my boyfriend was a prime target of hers. She flirted with him all the time, right in front of me too, and he would flirt back." She paused again, remembering one particular moment under a certain oak tree in the park. Alex might be her friend, but Jess didn't think they would ever be close again. Alex had to realize that everything she did had consequences, and some things you do can cost you dearly, such as losing one of your best friends. "I got tired of it hurting me, so I shut the feeling out, and it did stop hurting, and along with the hurt went my feelings for Dex. I stopped caring when she flirted with him except for that she was playing mindgames with all my friends and I was sick of it. I finally ended it last night."

A flash of lightning and another clap of thunder made the lights flicker, but they didn't go out. Jess laughed a little bit; unlike a lot of people in this little town, she was unafraid of storms, just easily startled. But Jess was starting to get hungry. So she smiled at Tony. "Thanks for listening to me and my soap-opera life. You're really a sweet guy." She used her arms and the couch as leverage to push herself forward, and laid her lips on his cheek in a little peck. She leaned back with a blush and a giggle, nearly leaping off the couch. "You want something to eat?" she asked, walking out of theroom and motioning him to follow. "We have everything." The prase, 'The quickest way to a man's heart is through his stomach.' came to mind, but Jess wasn't looking for Tony's heart... was she?

Tony more or less shrugged when Jess said that she was sorry and it sounded rather serious for her but the 'serious' facade quickly melted away as soon as Tony heard her sniggering. Turning to face her one corner of Tony's mouth pulled up into a bemused smirk and his eyes narrowed slightly, his brows furrowing ever so slightly, giving him a skeptical 'what's so funny?' kind of look. Still waiting for her to say something or elaborate on this sudden humor Tony watched as Jess turned to face him, he could feel her toes tucked ever so slightly under his thigh, which kind of tickled but it felt nice. It was nice to have someone to hang out with that wasn't directly connected to his own drama or issues, and while Jess seemed to have her own troubles Tony didn't mind listening, he always liked talking like this. After all that was why he stuck with Scarlett after the whole closet thing, well at first he didn't talk to her but once they were left alone one time, he sat down a listened to what she had to say and Tony felt bad for her and he could actually relate to what she had to say. And ever since that evening they'd been hanging out regularly together, but last night was definetly the most. . .intimate 'talk' they had together. "That's good." Tony nodded ernestly when Jess said that she was still going to be friends with her ex, but don't under estimate the power of awkwardness after a break-up. He thought to himself but he didn't want to bring Jess down more than she already seemed to be. . .although she actually seemed pretty happy at the moment.

Her smiles were contageous because as soon as she flashed Tony another one of her trade mark 'Jessica Smiles' Tony felt one spreading across his own, showing his nice pearly whites, braces did really work wonders. "Thanks." Tony said when Jess said that she didn't find him to be a jerk, well that makes at least one girl. He thought to himself, but that wasn't true the only girl that saw him as a jerk now was Carmen. Tony only shook his head slightly "Oh don't worry, I've got time. . .not like I'm going anywhere." He said with a non chalant chuckle as Jess began describing her own friend group issues. As she began describing the inner relations Tony's face fell blank and all he could do was blink twice, indicating that he was confused. But she proceeded describing what happened with break-ups, deciet, flirting and all that good teenage drama stuff. Wow! Tony thought to himself, who would have thought these South Carolina kids were just about as corrupted as us from New York? He thought to himself, still trying to process how these people were inner related. However, Tony did manage to understand everything else. Some hoe was flirting with her ex constantly, Jess got tired of it, lost her feelings for this Dex guy and broke it off. Plain and simple. And with that final statement of 'I finished it last night' all Tony could really say was "Wow." he was still stuck on the inner dynamics of her group of friends but he was pretty sure he had figured it out now. "Our friends are more alike than I thought." He said almost bemused for a moment, but then smiled at Jess once again when she thanked him for listening to her 'soap-opera' life. Then called him a sweet guy which caused Tony to roll his eyes and snort "So I've been told." You're the sweetheart, Tony, the sweetheart always gets the girl. Scarlett's voice ringing in his head.

Tony didn't exactly expect her to give him a little peck on the cheek either, but when she did he felt his heart leap wildly in his chest and could feel his cheeks going red, but it quickly faded when Jess brought up the all important topic of food. Come to think of it, Tony was kind of hungry and when she said that they had everything he was quickly overwhelmed by the weirdest craving for ice cream and those totinos pizza rolls, or bagel bites or both. Tony always seemed to get weird cravings like that, as if he was some kind of pregnant woman or something. However, this wasn't as bad as that time he woke up in the middle of the night with the worst hankering for choclate, but those were the times where Tony was in the midst of puberty and enduring extreme growth spurts. "Uh ya." Tony said watching as Jess walked over to the kitchen and motioned for him to follow. Pushing himself up off the couch Tony followed Jessica into the kitchen and decided that he'd just stick with the ice cream instead of sharing some werid food issue he was having at the moment. "I know that we're not having an 'I hate guys' fest, like I said before, but ice cream does sound really good." Tony said standing in the kitchen for a moment "But let me get this straight?" he started again, shifting his weight to one side, looking over at Jess now with a skeptical look on his face "Dex is your ex-boyfriend. Andrew is Dex's twin brother who used to date this Mary chick who is best friends with that 'Louie the dork guy'. And Louis dated Alex who is the girl that was hitting on your boyfriend?" He said, his face twisting into several different confused expressions as he spoke, trying to process all of the information correctly. "Did I get it?" He asked with an almost hopeful smile. God that sounds almost as confusing as my friend group. . .crazy how we seem to have similar problems. . .Tony thought but decided that he'd talked enough about his friends to Jess already.

At the moment though, Tony was a little A.D.D for a strange reason. His mind quickly jumped from ice cream and pizza rolls, to trying to figure out Jess and friend dynamics, to something he sort of liked to do. . .that maybe Jess did too but he wasn't quite sure. Looking at her again, narrowing his eyes ever so slightly, a small almost undetectable smile on his face "Do you like those sappy love movies?" He asked cocking his head to the side ever so slighlty, wondering if she did. . .after all she was a girl and she read books, so she probably did. However, Tony was different. . .he disliked those sappy romance movies, books, stories -except Romeo and Juilet, that was a classic and everyone ended up dying anyway. But often times when a sappy movie came on TV Tony would watch it and either laugh or add his own commentary which consisted of voice overs, or voicing his own opinion on how it triggered his gag reflex. After all he was the sweetheart, not the romantic one. Then again Jess was best friends with the hopeless romantic. . .but Tony didn't know that.

Jess's kitchen was just short of gourmet. All the appliances were stainless steel, and the fridge was industrial sized. They carried pretty much everything. Jess and her family weren't exactly hurting for cash, that was for sure. Tony said ice cream, and Jess smiled, pulling the door open to the freezer, causing the little LCD screen on the fridge to flicker on, displaying the time, then the weather and then the current temperature of the room, the fridge and the freezer. She reached back into the freezer that gave off thick waves of steam as the cold air met the warmer air. It was so thick, in fact, that part of Jess's arm disappeared in the search for the ice cream, but soon resurfaced with a giant tub of ice cream; three gallons, to be precise. She dropped it on the counter, lightly closing the door to the freezer. She the opened the fridge and grabbed the chocolate and strawberry syrups as well as the whipped cream and cherries.

Then, without even thinking about it, she moved everything over on the counter, and lithely hopped onto it, standing up on the wide counter with two feet between her head and the ceiling. She turned towards one of the cupboards and opened it, pulling out two bowls and several little jars, and setting them on the counter before slowly lowering herself to the ground and pulling out an ice cream scoop. "Ice cream does sound pretty good," she agreed with a grin, turning towards him for a second to wink. "So what flavor do you want? Chocolate, vanilla, stawberry? All three? A combination of two?" The little jars to her side were full of toppings ranging from chopped up nuts to colored sprikles to chocolate chips and even a couple gummies. The bowls she had pulled down were little decorative ice cream bowls that you would find in a really fancy cafe or restaurant, and she was currently filling hers with chocolate and vanilla.

She listened to him rattle off a condensed version of all she just told him, and as he list each and every fact, she nodded along. He seemed to have gotten everything. "Yep, you got it," she confirmed, with a grin. "You picked up on that pretty quickly. Oh, and to make things even more complicated, Andrew and Mary aren't over each other, though Andy is making an attempt to move on. And Mary is starting to develope feelings for Louis, who is still not over Alex- nope, sorry, promise, I'm finished now." She never had anyone who wasn't already in on everything to tell the story to, and even if they didn't know everything there was a good chance that if she brought up the wrong person, someone would get hurt, Having someone to tell all this too was making her over-eager to spill her guts.

When she was finished scooping her own ice cream into the frosted bowl, she grabbed the chocolate syrup and drizzled it artfully over the top over her ice cream, adding a small coat of chocolate sprinkles over it, making sure none of the vanilla showed through. After she was finished with that, she carefully stuck a couple gummy worms and spiders on it, making the ice cream it's self look like it had been made for a little boy with a fascination for bugs. She took a tiny handful a the chopped up nuts to top it off and smiled at her creation, setting it down on the counter. "Tada!" she said, presenting it with an eleaborate hand gesture before opening the drawer in front of her, and grabbing a spoon.

She had just taken her first deliscious bite when Tony asked her if she liked sappy romance movies. Spoon still in mouth, she turned to face him, kind of wondering where that had come from, but deciding an answer was better than retorting with a question; she'd always hated it when people did that. So, sliding the cleaned spoon out of her mouth, she swallowed the creamy substance and grinned at him. "Nope, not really. I prefer romantic comedies myself. I'm more 50 First Dates than The Notebook." she responded easily. "But action movies with romance incorporated are the best." She grinned at him, taking another bite of her yummy ice cream. "My best friend, Andrew, however, just loves that kind of thing. He's so weird. If Romeo ever came for his Juliet on a tractor, I'm betting he'd look just like Andrew Mason." She giggled at the mental image that popped up at that.

Nick quietly watched as Jess walked over to her fancy kitchen and opened the door to the laborenth of a refrigerator. He watched a steam billowed from inside and he was automatially mesmorized, tempted to stick his head or any other body part in there just because it was just soo flippin' cool. Better than the fridge at his families apartment in Manhattan even though it was pretty modern itself. As soon as Jess had removed herself from the fridge and over to the counter, like a small child Tony walked over to the fridge, pulled open the freezer door and stuck his head inside. "Ooooooohhhhhhh." He exclaimed as he looked around for a minute, his head eveloping in all the steam pouring from the fridge. "This is so cool." He mumbled immaturely to himself just as Jessica said that ice cream sounded pretty good, Tony nodding his head as he pulled his head out of the freezer and closed the door. "All three please." Tony said with a bright smile as he turned to face Jess as well, approaching the counter top which held both bowls and all of the toppings that you could find at any local Ben and Jerrys.

Just as Jess reaffirmed that he had gotten the whole South Carolina relationship business right, Tony took the ice cream scoop himself and began spooning up all three of the flavors into the decorative little bowls that Jess had gotten for them. However, as soon as Jessica began spilling more gossip Tony's ears immediately perked up. "Really?" He asked intrigued, he didn't even know these people and he was already interested in their dirty little secrets. Perhaps it wasn't a great personality trait but Tony, along with being a talkative sweetheart, loved to gossip. . .sure it was weird and uncommon for a guy but he just loved talking about people and hearing about others. Although, he wasn't one of those people who sat around all day tuning into daytime television or anything. "This sounds better than daytime television." Tony repeated somewhat thrilled "Not that I like daytime soap operas." He reassured Jess just as he had finished scooping up all the ice cream he'd ever need for the evening. Tony then proceeded exchanging toppings with Jess but he went for the whipped cream first and topped his ice cream off first before adding anything else. However, before he managed to finish Jess had already topped hers off, gummy spiders and all. "Beautiful." Tony complimented clapping as he looked down at her food masterpiece but then proceeded to finish off the toppings on his.

Taking the strawberry syrup, Tony drizzled it all over his concoction that only consisted of ice cream and whipped cream at the moment, but by no means was it as artful or skilled as Jess'. As he proceeded to add toppings he listened as she talked about the whole 'movie' question. "YES!" He agreed fervently as he set the syrup bottle down on the counter and reached for the chocolate chips "Those are the best, not too sentimantal. But 50 first dates was friggin hilarious. I saw it on the way to church camp when I was like. . .11." Tony chuckled as he tossed the chocolate chips on his ice cream creation "Nearly made me pee my pants at one point." He commented while moving onto his next topping. "And yes! I agree with that too, explosions and a thriller romance is always a good combination, not too much 'You are the light of my world, which revolves around you' kind of crap." Tony nodded as he finished his ice cream off with a few gummy bears and grabbed himself a spoon. "So I take it this Andy Mason is like a big romantic type of guy." Tony said as he casually hopped up on the counter and sat there for a moment before taking his ice cream and eating it, bowl sitting on his lap gingerly. "The exact opposite of Noah." Tony said holding his spoon out in front of him as if pointing at something while speaking to Jess. "I mean he'd rather bed a girl than have any kind of romance other than the horizontal macarena." He said not realizing he was about to go on a little rant about a couple of his own friends.

Shrugging his shoulders and making some kind of dramatic expression "I mean when he and Scarlett were together he hardly ever talked to her or anything. I mean I only ever saw them kiss once and Noah looked like he was in pain or something, as if he'd rather kiss me or Demitri" Tony pausing for a second as he jammed a spoonful of ice cream in his mouth and then proceeded talking "Not to mention he cheated on her a bunch of times, but what can you honestly expect from the womanizer? And then-" Tony stopping for a second realizing he had bombarded her with some of his own personal life. "Sorry about that, I know that Scarlett comes off as a total biotch, but really she's a sweet girl. . .just have to dig deep down and find it. I mean if you met her last night you probably saw the bitchy side right?" Tony asked as he began swinging his legs slightly while sitting atop the counter. A brief silence erupted throughout the kitchen before Tony decided that he wanted to hear more about Jess' friends, after all they sounded just about as interesting as Tony's. "But." He started cocking a curious eyebrow and a mock evil expression written on his face. "I'm interested to hear about your friends. . .I mean it sounds like there's some extreme turmoil going down." He said with a lingering sort of charm in his voice.

User Image"And I don't know why, but with you I dance,"

Jess laughed as Tony stuck his head into the steamy depths of her freezer. It was such a childish thing to do, but it made him that much more adorable. She loved guys that weren't all serious all the time. That knew how to have fun. That's why she and Dex had gotten off so well. They'd had tons of fun together. And Tony... seemed like her definitely knew how to have fun, just based on how they'd hit it off at the the lake. Jess would never have such a good reaction to someone who couldn't be silly and have fun. It's like an allergy; she can innately tell if it's not good for her by a small burning sensation. Not literally, of course, but that was how it was.

Jess found it amusing as Tony compared her life to a soap opera. She'd been thinking the same thing lately; it was like a bad soap. The kind where everyone hoped that the season finale would end with so-and-so getting back together, and so-and-so mending the rift between them so that they could become friends again. Jess was thinking that she and Alex were the so-and-so's that everyone was hoping would become friends again. Either them or LeeLee and Andrew. It was sort of a toss-up. Jess, herself, was hoping for the latter, but that was just because she knew that was truly what both parties wanted, whether they admitted it or not. They wanted to be friends again; they'd both told her so. Now if only they could admit it to one another. Jess scooped up another spoonful of her ice cream and stuck it in her mouth as Tony denied watching day time soap operas. "Oh, so you only watch night time soap operas?" she asked, grinning smartly.

She giggled at his sudden outburst as he continued to top his ice cream. While it looked no where near as pretty as hers in appearance, it did look deliscious. Aside from the icky strawberry icecream. She'd always thought the artificial flavoring didn't taste a thing like strawberries, and it was disgusting. She remembered arguing for many hours with her uncle Demetri about it, as he owned an ice cream parlor... in Russia. He actually owned several, and was very successful for it. Needless to say, he'd married into the family, for she had no Russian relatives for quite a few generations back.

"I find it ironic that you watched 50 First Dates on the way to a Church camp." she said with a simple smile as she took another bite of her ice cream, exposing some of the vanilla on the surface. She could really shovel ice cream in, when she wanted, and never would she get brain freeze. When asked how this is accomplished, she simply replies with 'Years and years of practice.' However, she was taking her dear sweet time tonight, enjoying the conversation she was having with Tony and her ice cream. As he continued to explain his point on romantic movies, she could help but think that he and Andrew would get along great - until this subject came up. But even then, they'd probably debate about it, and then let it go. "My point exactly." She gestured at him with a spoon. "I've been trying to get that into Andrew's head all these years. All that is just laying it on a little thick; real men don't talk like that. Well, unless they're Andrew." She rolled her blue eyes at this. "We watched Pirates of the Carribean, At World's End. He liked Will and Elizabeth's wedding scene because it was spontaneous and genuine. I liked their wedding scene because there wasn't all that polished pristine crap that most weddings incorporate. Plus, Barbossa's version of the ceremonial stuff was funny." She giggled and stabbed into her bowl again, coming up with a sizable bite, and savoring it on her tongue. "I told Andrew that I wanted to get married on my Grandparents Ranch, which we own now, up in Tennessee. I thought he was going to keel over. He thought it wasn't romantic enough. What he doesn't know to this day is that I was kidding."

She listened to him talking about his friend Noah for a couple moments. He was exactly like she had pegged him last night. She had tried not to judge him too harshly, but she hated womanizers so much. She'd seen the heartbreak they cause. Jess was always more of a one-woman-one-man kinda gal. She prefferred monogomous relationships; no ifs ands or buts about it. "I kinda got that vibe from him last night when he was trying to pick me and LeeLee up... at the same time." She sighed, staring down at her bowl of icecream. Why do guys do that? Why do they think one girl isn't enough for them. She knew she was being unfair by grouping all guys together, but still. She picked up her spoon again and stabbed into the ever softening dessert, and then let it slide down the spoon and drop back into the bowl. "He and Andrew wouldn't get along at all," she said quietly to herself, mostly. Andrew would probably have hit him last night, had he been their when Noah had made his move on both of them.

He broached the subject of Scarlette, and Jess smiled slightly. She remembered Scarlette. And the Scarlette from last night had been a b***h. A big one, actually. But that Scarlette had also been forced to go live in Hill-Billy Hell for the summer, and that Scarlette had been forced to go to a BBQ that she hadn't wanted to go to in the first place, and that Scarlette had also probably been hot and aggitated. And that Scarlette had been thrown for a serious loop when Jess had turned the tables and given her a nice, fair warning. "I try to hold off on passing bad judgements as long as I can. Sure, she came off mean, rude, disrepectful and condescending, but I'm sure I was no peach either. She was being forced to be somewhere she didn't want to be, and I was defending my friends and town. We both had our reasons, and she probably doesn't like me too much right now. But I don't think she's a b***h, quite yet. It takes a lot more to convince me of something like that." She smiled at him broadly. For some reason, no matter what they were talking about, tonight, she could not stop smiling around him. He was so sweet and funny. It was hard to not start grinning like a love-struck idiot at points.

"I'm not like a lot of people around here. Take my brother, Matt, for example." he started, getting a spoonful that was mostly chocolate syrup, but downing it anyway. A drop of it drizzled down the side of her mouth, but she either didn't notice or didn't mind - it was impossible to tell which it was. "He knows you're a yankee." Thank you, Captain obvious, but did you have to put it in those terms? She mentally face-palmed at the way she phrased that, but pushed on in her explanation. "He has preconceived ideas about you being stuck up, snobby and decked out in designer gear with a matching car. And from the minute he met you, he started making every connection he could to his preconcepted idea of you, and by tugging a few strings, he was able to make you fit it perfectly." It was quite obvious she'd given this a lot of thought in the past, and it was merely as if she was reciting it all by memory. It made a lot of sense to her, but she wasn't quite sure if he was following her. She continued in her explanation anyway. "I, on the other hand, paid no mind to the fact that the six of you were coming to Folly Fields, and therefore did not have a premeditated thought about any of you. You've had nothing to live up to in my eyes, so, to me, you're just... Tony. Not Northerner Tony; just Tony." She grinned at him as she had been all night, and licked her lips, just barely missing the one drop that had escaped her earlier.

She set her bowl on the counter and hopped up next to him. "What about you?" she asked, bumping him with her shoulder and smiling in a teasing fashion. "You guys must of imagined what it was going to be like down here; what the people were going to be like. What was your preconcieved idea of me, huh?" She was still grinning, but their was an undeniable curiosity in her tone; he eyes sparkled with it. And of course my 'me', she meant a teenage girl from Folly Fields around her age, but he probably knew that.

(Sorry it's so long; hope it makes up for all the time it took me to get it up.)

Ramming his spoon into the thick mass of ice cream and toppings, tony pulled out a small mass of the stuff and then stuck it in his mouth as Jess talked about how Andrew talked like a big romantic, that he was laying it on too thick, and that getting married on a ranch in tennesse just about sent him over the edge. Swallowing and pulling the upside-down spoon from his mouth Tony added his own little comment "A ranch wedding isn't romantic enough? Hmmm. . .what about St. Peter's Cathedral in Vatican City? Or someplace secluded in the French countryside?" He asked with a teasing smile, but Tony wasn't trying to diss Jessica's best friend in the whole wide world, just trying to get a better idea of how romantic this dude actually was "But you should probably tell him you were just kidding. . .would save him a little stress, unless it's fun to see him keel over about a ranch wedding" Tony said gesturing with his spoon back at Jess, much the same way she had done a couple minutes ago. But he had quickly re-directed the subject to Noah and his. . .habits, and Tony could honestly say that he wasn't too surprised by Jess' reaction to the whole thing, but it did bring a smile to his face, too bad his lips were concealing his pearly whites that in turn were keeping mounds of ice cream from seeping out of his mouth. "I'm kinda sorry I missed that." He teased, trying to get a visual of Noah attempting to hit on Jess and this 'LeeLee' girl, and she was harder to picture since Tony had never actually seen this girl. . .for longer than a couple seconds that is.

"Ya from what you're telling me about this Andrew fellow, those two would not mesh well together. Don't get me wrong I like Noah, he's a good friend. . .sort of." Tony said mumbling the last part under his breath, obvioulsy still bitter about Noah's sudden interest in Carmen. "But you hit the nail on the head with him, total man whore." Tony said with a curt nod before jamming yet another spoonful of ice cream into his mouth. Once again the subject changed though, and Tony really didn't mind all of these different topics meshing together at random intervals, it just gave him more to talk about and a better idea of what Jess was really like. But this subject was now about Scarlett and not Noah, but in a way it was still about different ways Jess precieved people, which really made Tony wish that he were a better person, after all if he'd met Scarlett under the same circumstances Jess had met her last night. . .Tony wouldn't have taken the same approach when it came to first impressions. "Don't forget bossy." He piped up jokingly when she was listing trade mark personality traits that were all too Scarlett. "I'm not too sure she really likes anyone right now to be completely honest. . ." Tony sighed as Jess finished talking about the whole Scarlett thing, even after hooking up with her the previous night, Tony had a sinking feeling that their talk tomorrow at the county fair wasn't going to be a pleasant one. But for the remainder of Jess' monologue, Tony listened attentively, nodded occasionally and watched as his mound of ice cream shrank before his eyes.

When Jessica hopped up on the counter beside him, Tony looked over at her and smiled, spotting the drizzle of chocolate syrup on her cheek as she sat there, teasing him innocently in a way. "Before I begin." He started, fully intending on hitting up every subject she had touched on after talking about Scarlett. "You've got a little something. . .right there." He said taking his thumb and swiping it away with a small smile. "Now that that's taken care of." He said with a friendly smile, almost feeling stupid for smiling so much "About your older brother. He's completely wrong!" Tony said, souding as if he were outraged but it was completely obvious that he was only teasing. "My clothes DO NOT always match my car!" But then he heaved a sigh and looked down for a moment and then back up at Jess "But other than that. . .he's pretty much right, didn't have to pull a lot of strings to get my snobby side going. But we are a bunch of preppy yanks. . .stuck up most of the time, partying our lives away while spending mom and dad's money like it's going out of style, decking ourselves out in designer clothes. . .Hell I'm wearing designer boxers right now!" He said, not even caring if Jess was grossed out by that little underwear fact or not, Tony had always been an open person like that, most of the time anyway. Tony looked down once more, a small smile tugging at his lips and a sighing sort of laugh escaping his lips before looking back up at Jess "But it's nice to know that there's one person in Folly Fields who doesn't believe we're as snooty as everyone thinks. . .even if it is 90 percent true." Tony laughed.

However, now it was his turn to reveal a little more of the 'charming' Anthony Myers to his newfound Folly Fields friend. "Well." He started in a very confident manner, of course it was a complete joke once again, very rarely was Tony ever the serious type, but he did have his moments. "You'll always be Blonde haired frizzy girl." Tony chuckled, flashing Jess his million dollar smile before continuing on. "But believe me when I say this, I wish I could sound a lot more honorable when I say this, but I don't think that's possible." Tony said with a now uncomfortable sort of giggle "When I first heard that I was being sent down here for some R&R I was pretty much pissed, so keep that in mind too." He said gesturing with his spoon again "When I was younger, I never really had formulated opinions about the people from Folly Fields, much like you, I didn't care much about where they'd come from, after all they'd done nothing to me, so I had no problem with them." Tony said, obviously grouping the entire population of Folly Fields together before singling out Jess. "But as I got older, that's when the whole snobby thing kicked in, I realized that I could afford nicer things and that gave me the idea that I was better than some other people. And initially upon arrival down here, I thought the same thing. . .that I was just SOO much better than the down home people of Folly Fields. Thought I was so much smarter, more appealing, and civilized than them. So I guess there's score one for Matt." Tony said, snorting a laugh, but then quickly changed his aura back to his usual happy-go-lucky attitude.

"But as for Jessica-Jess McGuire." Quickly correcting himself, recalling how she'd kill him if he ever called her Jessica again. "When I very first saw you after arriving here a couple days ago, I initially thought you were Scarlett. . .you know the blonde hair going." Tony said with a playful smile "But seriously, I thought you were just another southern hill-billy girl." Tony said kind of bluntly, but quickly pushed onward to avoid that overly honest bump in the road "But I came to find that Jess is a jumpy girl who likes reading in privacy." Pausing if only for a moment "And. That after talking to her about good books, she actually knew a little something." He teased, nudging her back with his elbow "But most of all, Jess McGuire showed me that not only was she NOT another hill-billy southern girl like I had thought." Tony paused for a second, chosing his words carefully as to not say something overly stupid again "But even teenage girls from Folly Fields are actually more relatable and realistic than some of the New York Barbie dolls that I'm used to." Tony smiled ernestly "And!" He declared as if presenting some royal decree "That she can definetly hold her breath longer than any human being I've ever known!" Tony proclaimed just before shoveling more ice cream into his mouth and then contemplating that little fact for a moment. Glancing up from his bowl of half eaten ice cream and over at Jessica Tony spoke, skeptically curious expression written across his face "How did you manage to do that anyway?" He asked figuring that it was some kind of secret that she wouldn't tell him. . .probably settle with a typical 'I'm just skilled like that' response.

Jess had to say she was liking the way this conversation was going.
