Ϩhould have not noticed, because if he would have known that, he'd take the chance at seeing her naked. But, that was beyond the point. As Justus sat down, the same thoughts twirled inside his head. Who was the mystery guy that she wanted to notice her? Was it someone in his group, someone he was friends with? Perhaps it was a new guy, or even better, perhaps it was someone he was really close to. Wouldn't that just be the kicker? He knew it would be hard to see her with someone else, but he'd find it even harder if he had to see her with someone whom was in his circle. Then, he'd never be able to avoid seeing them, and every time, he was sure his heart would break in two. But, Justus just had to hope he wasn't too late. He needed to either step it up or concede, and giving up just wasn't in his blood.

He took the conversation one piece at a time, so he could fully process what was going on as she was speaking to him. Surely, he'd be fine by lunch. But as of now, he was just glad it was the first day of school. First days meant syllabuses, and getting to know the teacher, perhaps what they'd be studying. They required little effort, which was what he would give today, so he knew he'd make it through just fine. "My holiday was lonely. I wouldn't say it was okay, but I guess it could have been worse, right?" He shrugged his shoulders slightly, and when the bell rang, he sat up to slowly make his way to stand. That was it, he needed to get up and ready for business, regardless of how he'd felt.

When she mentioned someone noticing her, he scoffed aloud, his eyes rolling into his head for a moment as his hands moved to push himself up to his feet. If someone didn't notice her now, he figured they were blind, because she had to be the most gorgeous girl in all of the county. But he half frowned at the thought as well as he threw the backpack onto his back, and offered a hand to help her off of the table. "You're absolutely gorgeous, and he'd be stupid if he didn't notice you. But, if he didn't notice you before this, he doesn't deserve you. You're the most awesome person I know." As he started to step into the direction he needed to go, for Biology as his first class, he quickly decided to turn the other direction, towards the art wing. He'd walk her to class. That was friendly, right?

"My summer was alright. Spent most of it in the city. Met a couple of cool people. Fun to hang out with, sure. Just... Not sure how 'great' they are." He chuckled softly, and tucked his hands into his pockets as they made their way to her class. He'd have to double back pretty quick if he wanted to be on time, but then again, a few minutes late wouldn't be a big deal. Besides, trouble was his new name, and he certainly liked to make an entrance. "Well, what about you? How was your summer? Obviously, you met someone." He nudged her playfully, and frowned on the inside, but kept the joking manner as a nice smoke screen for his true feelings. "Yeah, last year. It's crazy. Now, we've got to decide what we're going to do with the rest of our lives."

As they reached the door of the art building, he took hold of the handle and swung it open for both of them to walk through, instinctively, and headed right behind her. His eyes moved to her body quickly to sneak a peek, but then quickly, returned back to her beautiful, mesmerizing eyes. Justus reached into his pocket, and grabbed a slip of paper he'd kept there for memorization, and handed it to his friend, with a slight smirk. "Here, hold onto this for me. That way, I don't lose it. And you'll know where I'll be." On the paper, his school schedule for his first semester of the year, written down. His classes appeared there, so she could text him what classes they had shared, and she could know where to find him. As the 'minute' bell rang, his eyes opened slightly larger than normal, and he turned slightly from where he stood. "Uh oh. Can't be too late. Hopefully, I'll see you later?" As he started to step away, he figured he'd take a chance at something he normally wouldn't do.

He moved in slightly, and placed a kiss on the left side of her cheek, pausing just for a moment to stare into her eyes. Being face to face was nerve-wrecking, but still, he chose to do it, before his lips moved to nearly pressed up against her ear, his warm breath against her skin. "You look amazing. Knock 'em dead." With that, as much as he could handle, anyway, he walked off without a word, and headed out the door, for the class he was supposed to attend. On his way, he stopped to converse with one of the football players of the school when he heard the final bell ring. Both of them said goodbye, as Justus headed for the water fountain next to the classroom he needed to be in. With a large drink, he walked in, and explained to the teacher, he was thirsty.

Well, I don't think she can see my crush on her.
But I sure can feel her crush on me.

"BYE MOM!!" The words echoed through the house up to the master bedroom upstairs where an older woman nodded, as if the boy could see her. As the words had left his mouth however, Alexander shut the front door behind him, covering the distance from his front door to the drive way by jumping down the three steps of his porch. Whistling the tune to Electric Worry by Clutch, the brown-haired boy of eighteen practically skipped to his truck. Sliding in, he felt at ease. He'd only gotten back into town two nights prior, and he'd spent more than half of the day before sleeping. The rest of yesterday had been spent in a frenzy of getting ready for school. He'd literally blown a couple hundred dollars on clothes, shoes, and a few notebooks, pens, and pencils. All of his merchandise sat neatly in the backseat of his truck. He'd despised the idea of a four door truck when he'd first received the vehicle as a birthday present two years prior, but now he loved it. There was definitely more room inside the cab to store things, and he could have more than one friend with him. The bed in the back was slightly smaller than what he preferred, but he made do with it, seeing as how there was rarely anything to put back there in the first place.

Starting up the engine, Alexander, more commonly referred to as Zane, or even Zany by a select few of his closest friends, turned up the radio and began his trek to the school, a mere two blocks away. He should have walked, seeing as how his daily trips to school were going to drain him of whatever money he had left because of the gas. But in truth, he enjoyed driving too much. Besides, if he walked, how else would he be able to excuse his tardiness with the fact that his truck hadn't started. Or...something or other?

Smiling, he pulled into the parking lot within a few minutes and found an empty space not too far away. Most of the students were making their way toward the building, and he figured one of the warning bells had gone off. Surveying the scene, he found himself to be one of the most energetic of the lot. And it definitely made sense. Zane was just...always hyper. Granted, he knew when to be serious, it just wasn't very often. He liked looking at the bright side of things. An optimist, that was what he was. The cup was half full, always.

With a deep breath, though he had barely any need for it, he proceeded to turn off his vehicle and after grabbing a notebook and pencil, he disappeared out of the truck and strolled toward the building's front doors. His mother had told him enough about his schedule for him to know that he had English first. Hopefully, one of his friends shared the class with him. Thinking about his friends, Zane's thoughts drifted to Cecil for not the first time that day. Actually, most of his time in Montana had mentally been spent thinking about her. She'd begun to do things that caught his attention in that flirtatious way, and he would have none of it. She was one of his friends, just like any of the others. And honestly, he was definitely happy enough to go without a girlfriend, or any 'partner' in that sense. He was, for sure, not gay. No way. Not that he had anything against them, he just couldn't wrap himself around the idea of being homosexual. Frankly, it scared him. And sure, he'd had a girlfriend here or there, but the idea of being in a relationship was rather meaningless to Zane. Couples hooked up, got together, whatever, for the look, or the status, or the reputation. Then they broke up because of the 'he said, she said' game. Every time. Break-ups always involved communication problems. There was no way around it, and he didnt' want anything to do with it. He was content living his own life without the complications of feeling admiration or love toward another human being. True he loved his friends, but that was different. His thoughts about Cecil convinced him to pull out the cell phone from his pocket though and open up a new message.

            To: Cecil
            From: Zane

            Hey! Where are you?
What's your first hour? Please say it's English! :]

Reading it over, he dismissed the idea that it may have sounded needy in some way, but he needed to know that at least someone was in his first hour. He was about ready to burst with all the things he had to tell his friends. And though it hadn't quite dawned on him just yet, Zane wanted Cecil to be the first to know. He trudged through the crowds of people, getting shoved and pushed around in the process. The hallways were his least favorite part of school, other than his math classes, but those were different. In the hallways, there were always people who didn't care to be courteous enough to maybe not run into the others. Not that it could be helped too much. Still, he was joyful, murmuring as he walked the lyrics to a song he could not name.

Turning down another hallways, Zane made it to his locker, and was completely oblivious to the fact that the boys around him were making some fuss about a 'new girl', as well as to the fact that this 'new girl' really wasn't new, but was Cecil herself. Her locker was at the other end of the hallway that he had just turned into, as well as on the other side of the hall itself. The conversations around him became ignored by Zane however as they continued on to things about how the testosterone in their bodies began to take over the logical minds of the boys in regards to the lovely looking ladies that Zane had failed to notice. Standing at his locker, he opened it up and hung his black jacket on the hook, leaving him in simple blue jeans, his black converse, and a plain white t-shirt. The sleeves irked him, ever so slightly as he disliked any tremendously loose fitting clothes and this shirt had been stretched out at some point in it's lifetime residing within his closet at home. Still, it fit rather nicely and didn't portray him in any disillusioned sense. Though he did take mental note not to wear the shirt again in the near future.

Content with being jacket-less, he picked up his notebook and pencil from the top shelf where he had placed them to take off the jacket, and shut his locker, all the while still awaiting a reply from his best friend. "...-ite yourself off yet. It's only in your head you feel left out, or looked down on. Just try your best, try everything you can. And don't you worry what they tell themselves, when you're away...." He'd yet to stop the inaudible incantation of the song in his head when he finally realized what song it was. Jimmy Eats World's The Middle. The song he'd listened to on the way to school.

She didn’t know what to react to first, for a moment she was speechless and suddenly she felt like a piece of meat. This wasn’t because of Justus, she liked the attention of the good looking bad boy. No, the rest of the school was getting right on her last knuckle…or nerves. As she was suppose to say now. She frowned slightly and shook her head, looking back at Justus and the hand offered to her, she took if gently and got up. Picking up her own bag and fixing it on her shoulder and under her hair. She smiled at him and looked forward as they started to walk, it was nice that he was walking her to her lesson. She felt saddened that they didn’t have art together. She would feel so uncomfortable without him, she nodded through and hid her disappointment, she wanted to have all her lesson with him. But that seemed stalk-ish and needy. So, she said nothing. She waited for him to talk, which he was doing a lot lately.

She listened to the sound of his voice, only wanted him to speak her name and take her in his arms. She frowned at the home made movie, going on in her head. Why did she do this to herself? She bite her lower lip and tilted her head at what he said. ‘Why didn’t you ring me!” She smiled all the same and shook her head. “I bet you weren’t that lonely.” She said and pushed him slightly, in a play manor. She smiled at him and nodded slightly. She was trying to lighten the mood.

His next answer to her question, well she almost burst out into a fit of giggles. She looked into his eyes, not saying a word for ages. Then she spoke, her voice soft and low. “He’s not stupid and he knows I exist. He just doesn’t know I like him.” Even though her voice was low, he should be able to hear her. “Thank you, you’re awesome too.” She said and smiled sweetly. She walked with him and kept her hands in her own pockets, so she didn’t reach for his hand and hold it. Should she tell him she hadn’t met anyone? “I didn’t meet anyone, I changed for myself and my sanity.” She said and smiled slightly. She smiled. “Decide? Sod that. If I’ve told you once, I’ll tell you a thousand times. You and I, we’re going to rob a bank. Never have to work a day in our lifes, down side. You’d be stuck with me.” She said and laughed. She said this too his often, it was always something that would make them rich. The only thing that changed was what could make them rich. Last time it had been marry each other off to a millionaire.

She smiled as he pushed the door open and frowned at the stares, she tried around to face him. She knew he had to go, she didn’t want him too. She held himself back from hugging him and smiled at him. He leaned forward, her heart stopped, she held her breath and her hands become warm. Was he going to kiss her, in front of all these people? She felt a shiver up her spine, then he kissed her cheek. It was a lovely gesture but not what she wanted, the class awed and wolf whistled. She rolled her eyes at them and smiled at him. “I’ll be sure to do that.” She so wanted to say babe. She held back and watched him until he left. As soon as he was gone she frowned and pulled at the dress. ‘I’m dying!’ She said and pulled on the black belt. She knew she’d end up changing, she had brought a change of clothes. Such like a girl. She laughed and sat down at the back.

She wasn’t sure if she wanted to knock them dead…wait what the hell did that mean? Oh. She laughed and shook her head. He didn’t actually mean she should knock them dead, he meant from her appearance. She was just that good. She smiled and pulled out her phone.

                                          To: Justus
                                          From: Emmi

I’m stalking you through text. =D
                                          Forget to say.
                                          Yeah…you’ll see me after. Aha.
                                          Have fun.

She pressed send, she didn’t want him to think she didn’t want to see him. She did, but when was too soon? She wasn’t sure, she sighed. This girl stuff was far to complicated. She looked up as her teacher walked in and smiled slightly. He waved to her and she arched an eyebrow and waved back, simply by putting her hand up. She shook her head and rolled her eyes. School was about to get a whole lot more annoying.

Sam’s dark orbs watched her for a moment, it was amazing how a change of clothing could make to a person. It was like putting glasses on someone who had never wore glasses, it just changed their appearance. One single item. She had changed a lot about herself and Sam was too hungover to think about it too much. Then something dawned on him, why would she change herself after so long? Why would she bother? It was the last year and who cared what she looked like? Wasn’t she happy with her appearance before? Why would she of kept herself like that if she hadn’t. He frowned. “Thinking is giving me a headache, a worse one. Say Viva, why the sudden change?” He asked, he didn’t jump straight to that she met someone. Sam was slow today, real slow. He rubbed his eyes as he walked towards the building. “What do you have first? I have Biogoly.” He said with a smirk. “The Joys huh?” He said and smirked.

He pulled out his phone and opened a new message.

                                          To: Justus
                                          From: Sam

Something’s going off with Viva. I’ll speak to you soon.

He pressed send and slipped it back in his pocket. He needed to focus and bring his mind around her new appearance. He took a breath and looked back at her. “Have you met someone I’ll have to beat up?” He said and smiled slightly, joking of course. That smile gave him away. “I’m sure your mother hardly helped. You look good Viva. I hope what ever or who ever you’re changing yourself for is worth it. If it’s for yourself, then I’m confused. But there’s nothing new there. Give me an hour, my hang over will erase itself from my mind and I’ll be thinking straight.” He said and smirked slightly. Give it a try? A try? Why didn’t that fit? He arched an eyebrow and simply nodded. She’d tell him when she was ready…wouldn’t she?

He wasn’t sure what to say now, he never had this problem before. He bite his lower lip and looked at her, making sure his car was locked before he walked towards his locker. He opened it after having to repeat the song he made up, to remember it. He chuckled as he threw stuff in it, he didn’t need. He smirked slightly and looked around. He didn’t want to be here.

I'm only up when you're not down.
Don't wanna fly if you're still on the ground.
It's like no matter what I do.
Well you drive me crazy half the time;
the other half I'm only trying to let you know that what I feel is true.
And I'm only me when I'm with you.

His confusion hit a sore spot within her heart. As if she'd thought that he'd know, right off the bat. Of course he wouldn't have known, especially not if he was hungover. Viva knew this, Viva knew him. Watching him carefully, she took in his words, and digested them as smoothly as she could. It was taking all she had to keep from blurting out that she changed for him, and that she did all this for him. No, that would have to wait, even if for just a little while longer. "I've got Calculus. I don't think I can offer a trade with that." she said with a smile, though she was dismayed at the fact that she didn't start the day in his class. Waiting a moment to answer his first question she pondered what she would tell him. Giving it all away would be a waste. She hadn't planned for this, though truthfully she'd really only planned about the previous five minutes of this 'reunion' anyways. Viva's computations for how things would play out really couldn't continue until she knew Sam's result. And now, trying to figure out how to do things and introduce ideas wasn't working so well with all the questions to answer.

His joke of beating someone up made her laugh though, easing her thoughts briefly. "I think I can still handle a little beating here and there, but thank you for the offer. Still, no I haven't met anyone new, and there isn't a need for any beating up I hope." She said, a smile forming on her lips as he told her once more that she looked good. During her pause, she hoped to keep the words embedded into her memory. She had no idea what other good things he would tell her, but for now, those words were going to be the ones she needed to hold on to. The ones that would help her get through this day. Walking alongside him to his locker, she mulled over his first question. 'Why the sudden change.' It was definitely a valid question, she just didn't know how to explain it. her mind churning, she adjusted the straps to the bag handing off of her shoulder. If she had anything more in it, it'd be digging into her shoulder, and she was smart enough to know that that, at least, was not something she was allowed to let happen. His words caused her to slow her pace. He was confused... and at this point, Viva could tell that he was, without him mentioning it. Had she done something wrong? Said something...off? Was he figuring it out or was she just being delusional?

The question of whether he was worth the change or not had brought Genevieve back to reality from her ongoing train of doubts. Sam was dancing all around it, but some how not really getting the main point. With a slightly forced smile though, she hoped to give him some kind of answer. "He's definitely worth it, or at least I think he is. And don't be confused, you'll just make things worse for yourself silly." The accidental slip of tongue had left her to turn red. Pet names were definitely not her thing. But she couldn't hold back the one time. Hoping to swallow her embarrassment, she spoke again, quicker this time as if in a hurry to cover up her mistake. "I'll tell you about him in an hour then okay? Have fun in Biology!"

Without another word she turned and walked off, hearing the minute bell ring somewhere in the rumble of other students in the hallway. Viva tried her best to keep herself from turning the bright red she knew she would be, but the whistling and whispering she heard from the male population around her made it increasingly harder for her to focus on returning to her calmer state. If she could just get to her Calculus class she could settle into the regularity of numbers...that at least was familiar territory for Viva. Things she could handle. Walking along, she tried to slow her heartbeat, and pull out her cell phone all at once. Miraculously, she did so without falling, and then proceeded to open a new message and typed out her thoughts.

                                          To: Mimi
                                          From: Viva

                                          Oh god, oh god!
I think I just horribly, horribly slipped with Sam.
Plus I think he already thinks something's off...
                                          =/

She sent the message and slipped the phone back into her pocket by the time she reached her class. Entering, she could feel the heat in her face and wished, just this once, that there was a seat in the back. And with her luck...there wasn't. Still, a seat in the middle of a row was definitely better than one in the front at this point in time. Hopelessly she sat down, replaying the last couple minutes in her mind, hoping that in some way, she would be able to salvage what ever damage she had done.

Even thou she wasn't wearing a skirt or a dress Cecil was still freakin uncomfortable. Her mother had bought her a pair of skinny jeans. Man how she wished she could just tear them off, but he hasn't seen her yet. But she still couldn't help but miss her baggy pants and her plaid shirts. Yes, she did look totally butch but she felt comfortable. Cecil didn't understand why girls went around being uncomfortable. They probably got used to it or something, Cecil needed to know their secret and fast. Because she didn't know how long she could take the torture of wearing skinny jeans. Well she wasn't going through the torture alone. Her friend Emmi was feeling the same way. By the looks of her text she felt worse.

                      To: Emmi
                      From: Cecil

AMEN. Seriously how do normal girls go through this.
I'm seriously about to tear these super tight jeans off.
Why are they so tight anyone?

Cecil pressed send. Man how she wished she would a text from him. When was he going to get to school anyways? She pretty much did this all for him. If he was absent today she was for sure going to kick his nice a** the next day. Or after school when she got out of her restraining clothes.

Cecil pulled out her phone to check the time. It was almost about time to for the bell to ring for the first period. Cecil pulled out her schedule to see what her first period was. Then this random guy came up to her and asked to help her out. Cecil looked at him, giving him an intense glare. The boy's eyes went wide to see who it really was under all the pretty clothes and make-up. Holly s**t! Its Cecil. Damn Cecil your looking mighty fine. What happened. Cecil looked at him angrily. Really? Did she look that different? Cecil had about enough. Not meaning to be mean towards Rachel, but Cecil just had to walk away before she punched the crap out of the kid. Cecil started to count down from 10 to try to calm down. So many whispers where heard as she walked down the hall way. Seriously couldn't they talk about something better. She just got new clothes and actually did her hair and make-up. There was really no big deal! People do it all the time!

Cecil's pocket started to vibrate, she thought it was Emmi getting back to her but it was him. Cecil smiled to herself as she read the text. She really loved the way he talked to her. He made her feel wanted and it was obvious he wanted company. She was happy he wanted her to keep him company. Cecil needed to check her schedule again to see what her first period. She didn't check it the first time because of that jerk. Anyways her first period was English! She was going to have a period with him! Cecil quickly started to reply to him.

                      To: Zane
                      From: Cecil

I'm actually about to head to English C:
                      Lucky aren't we?
                      See you soon razz

Cecil quickly started to walk towards English but slowed down when she was only a couple of feet of way. She didn't wan to seem like she ran all the way there just to see him. Plus she kinda needed to make a little entrance when he saw her. She peeked in through the door to see if he was there first but he wasn't. Cecil bit her lip wondering how much longer he would take. Cecil walked in waited for him. Was he going to like the new her?

Ͼlass was just as boring as Justus thought it was going to be. Going over a syllabus and hearing about how long the teacher had been around the subject was never interesting, and as usual, most people were too afraid to talk on the first day. So, as lax as he could get, he decided to do so, choosing to sit back and half pay attention to what his Biology teacher had to say. It wasn't a help with his headache that he couldn't focus, and at some point, he hoped he was going to bounce back. The teacher probably didn't like him already anyways, considering on the first day, he'd chosen to be late. But that wasn't completely bad, right? Maybe he'd gotten lost, or forgotten about school this day. There were so many options and reasons to miss his first class, he just chose to keep it the way it was.

As Justus looked at the clock, he realized how slow time would actually go today. Time was usually slow in class, but today would be more so. He'd only hoped that perhaps teachers would allow them out early, or at least have a moment to get used to the classmates. There were a few people in the class he knew in here, while some of them had been overachieving students that were merely freshman or sophmores. He sat next to at least one person he knew, Cassie, but she was one of the more studious girls he knew. Sure, she was nice and friendly, and cute enough to be interested, but she was also too taken with school to notice anything else. Justus decided it was best to at least try to look at some of the females in his class in a new light, seeing that his crush was already trying to win over some mystery guy.

It frustrated him, sure, but there was simply nothing he could do about it. He was sure that the way he acted turned off the female, and for sure, his drinking problem as of current had to be an issue. So, all he had was himself to blame, and something like that couldn't be taken lightly, so he chose to just ignore it. As his phone buzzed inside his pocket, he slipped it out under the paper he'd been given on entry and decided to at least text someone he knew. Within moments of the first text, a second came, but he had already opened the first, from Sam. He wanted to laugh aloud at the text, but he stifled it to himself, and quickly typed out a reply.

To: Sam
From: Justus
Message: Haha! Emmi walked in all Extreme Makeover status to school today. Said she's trying to impress some guy. I'm too hungover for this crap. I can't lie, though... She looks amazing.

With that, he opened up the second text message, and read it when he had the chance. With the teacher walking over to his side of class, he couldn't immediately reply, so he waited until he turned his attention to the other side, and started on the message.

To: Emmi
From: Justus
Message: God, you're such a creeper sometimes! Do we have any other classes together? There's a reason I gave you my schedule, you know. biggrin Have fun? It's biology. The teacher might as well be Santa Clause trying to tell me about blood vessels.

With the finished and sent text done, he slid his phone back into his pocket and moved slightly to the other side, trying to get into another comfortable position to slack off. When was this class going to be over?!

It was on the tip of his tongue, the answers to all of his own questions, an answer to rid himself of the confusion. He just needed to grasp it, take the confusion from it and solve it. But like most males, they didn’t see what was right in their grasps, before it was too late and it fell through their fingers. Now Sam was the type of person who was oblivious to crushes, he was far too being partying and having a good time, to even begin to want a relationship. But that didn’t mean he wanted her to have one either. Selfish right? She was his best friend, he wasn’t sure what he’d do with himself if someone else wanted her time as well. He smiled slightly and shrugged as she spoke to him. “You could of done, but I wouldn’t of taken it.” He said and flashed her that ever so charming smile of his, the smile he only ever used for her. He ran a hand through his hair and tilted his head slightly, what was she doing this for? Did she want attention? Was this a new form of attention seeking. He frowned at the idea of it, she wasn’t becoming an attention whore…was she?

She hadn’t met anyone knew and she could still beat people up, so she hadn’t changed herself as such, just her appearance. Did that make him feel better? No. Whoever it was knew her well enough to know what she was like and maybe that was why she didn’t change all of herself. But she changed her appearance…to get someone to notice her? She never denied it and didn’t say she did it for herself, yet. He bite his bottom lip in thought, attempting to figure something out. Why was he thinking about this so much? Why was she suddenly the only thing on his mind. He sighed and closed his locker, he headed towards his class, as she followed too. He smiled slightly, he knew they didn’t share their first lesson. She had told him herself moments before. So had changed for a guy! Her words told him so, he frowned and looked at her, looking over her appearance again. As he shook his head, slightly. He was worth it, well he obviously wasn’t if he couldn’t take her, for herself. He sighed and simply nodded as she said her goodbyes, rather quickly he may add. He watched her for a moment, those eyes checking her out as she walked away.

He walked to class and sighed as he realised the teacher had already begun, about ten minutes late. He sat down next to Justus, the teacher frowned, Sam merely grinned. As they were told what to do and the teacher left them too it, Sam read the message on his phone. He looked at Justus and smirked. “You think you’re hangover is bad, my kitchen tables in my pool. I had naked people sleeping on my garden and had empty beer cans everywhere, not to mention my new wallpaper, toilet roll spread everywhere. This morning was me running around like a headless chicken, cleaning everything up. Then I went and forgot to get the table out the pool, I moved my sofa back in my house though. That’s always a plus, I suppose.” He grinned at him. He leaned back on his chair and grabbed a pen, simply drawing on a random piece of paper. He didn’t offer any work for the stuck-up-their-arse teacher.

His thoughts returned to the others text. “How has Emmi changed? Viva has changed her appearance, from baggy pants to…well girls clothes. She looked good, weird to see though…” It was weird seeing the person you considered a Tom boy in girls clothes. Weird to think you’re ‘brother’ was really a ‘sister.’ She no longer wanted to be seen as the TomBoy, since when? He frowned as his head began to hurt again. Hangovers sucked, but at least he didn’t have a tiger in his house. Like that film, he smirked at the thought and looked back to the male. “Maybe I’m losing her, you know…she’s going to the other side.” He couldn’t help it. He had to laugh, soon she’d prefer to hang out with girls and just plain fancy males. He wasn’t sure he was ready for that.

Was he ready to see Viva with someone? He sighed and leaned into his car more. Why was she making him think this much? What was her plan and who was this male? He looked at the teacher as he appeared to be staring at Sam. Sam arched an eyebrow and frowned slightly. He wanted to hit him, he wouldn’t. He screwed up his nose and sighed, lesson had to be over right? At least soon. He could feel his brain melting…already.

Finally, Zane left his locker in his happy-go-lucky mood so often surrounding him, only to be startled out of his light joyous step by the spontaneous vibration from his cell phone in his pocket. He pulled it out as he made his way toward his first hour class room. The news of having class with Cecil made his squeak. Not with his voice, but with his shoes. Though, maybe the news wasn't really the cause of the sound. Perhaps that was just Zane's excitement showing? Either way, he quickly typed out his reply.

            To: Cecil
            From: Zane

Sweet! I have so much to tell you!!
See you in a few. ^.^

After a quick glance for any typos, he hit send and slipped the phone back into his phone. To be honest, he couldn't wait to see Cecil. More so than any of his other friends, though they were pretty high up on the list of people he couldn't wait to see. Cecil was just at the top. And all this extra talk around him was beginning to seep through his nearly impenetrable bubble. "That was Cecil?! Where have we been these last few years? She's a babe!" "Dude, check it out, that chick was Cecil!" The exclamation reached his ears more than the expressions upon the many boys' faces. And it got him thinking. Cecil was amazing, but something about all this talk made him realize that something...different was at play. not only all the comments about Cecil being pretty, but just the tone of voice that these boys had. He knew that tone of voice. They were smitten, in the whole....'I need me a piece of that' kind of way. He was a guy, and had suffered that disease quite a few times in the past several years. But Cecil? His best friend Cecil? The one who knew anything and everything there was to playing just about every sport known to man, and didn't have a care in the world about getting dirty? Sure he could see how a guy could find that attractive, but that wasn't the way these kids were talking. Even the girls had something to say.

Confused, he made his way toward the classroom door, only a few handful of feet away. When he actually saw the door, he caught a glimpse of someone walking through the door. Some girl. From what he could discern, she was like any other girl in the school, dressed in the latest fashion, more for style than comfort. Taking the last few steps he made it to the door and almost laughed. The scene was too much. The guys in the class seemed transfixed on the girl directly in front of him. And though Zane could see nothing but the back of her head, he realized that this girl must have something really special about her for all these guys to be staring.

And then it hit him. Even from behind it was difficult to mistake this girl for anyone else, but Cecil. Her hair was different from what Zane was used to seeing, but there wasn't any way he could forget the color, or the way it curled. He just knew that to be something special about his friend. Still, the attire threw him off. She didn't have on the normal sweats, but a pair of....skinny jeans? And that wasn't even the beginning of it all. The change was obvious, and he'd only seen her from behind. "Cecil?"

I'm only up when you're not down.
Don't wanna fly if you're still on the ground.
It's like no matter what I do.
Well you drive me crazy half the time;
the other half I'm only trying to let you know that what I feel is true.
And I'm only me when I'm with you.

Replaying the scene again and again, she noticed a detail she'd missed before. His smile. God how she loved that smile. Viva was the kind of person who noticed the difference between smiles, and she knew that that smile was hers. Her own to have...if only he knew that she wanted not only that one smile, but the rest of him all to herself.

Settling down into her seat enough to where she appeared to be paying attention to the teacher, a heavy set male, already balding, Viva continued on with her thoughts. Boys definitely did NOT take hints very well. Or, perhaps didn't even realize that they were hints. Oh, why had she told Sam that she'd tell him about this mystery guy after first hour? That was too soon. Her master plan was to have had him figure it all out for himself. Granted that may have taken longer than she wanted, and she hadn't really accounted for the recent events, but he could manage a guess...couldn't he? Genevieve sighed, frustrated with herself, as well as with Sam. Coincidentally, all eyes were on her anyways.

"An introduction, if you will Ms. Maxwell?" The teacher prompted, motioning for Viva to stand up. Surprised that he had remembered her name, she stood and let her eyes searching the room. Thankfully, on the board were her instructions. "Hi, my name's Genevieve. Call me Viva and I'm a senior this year. I like guns... I guess my biggest pet peeve is not being heard out." The words came out clearly, as this was to be her script for at least a few of her classes today. She knew that she'd have to jump right into some of the material in say her science or history classes, but math was different. She'd had the same teacher her freshman year, for some math class she was sure. Sadly, she'd forgotten his name, and didn't truly care to learn it. It'd come around sometime and besides, she had a whole year to learn it. And then what would it matter?

Sitting back down, Viva finally realized the attention she was receiving. It wasn't that she had had the floor by introducing herself. They were all staring at her for her appearance. At least most of the guys were, and sadly enough, there were quite a few younger students in the crowd, all a bit too nerdy for her taste. Not that she had a taste... Sam wasn't... categorizable, in any other way than he was a partier. Yes, definitely a partier. It'd crossed her mind earlier in the summer that maybe she wasn't quite smart to fancy someone who partied and slept around the way Sam did. But he was her best friend, and that was just the way he was. There was no denying that she'd already fallen for him...any second thoughts now were pointless.

Cecil stood there, arms folded across her chest. Her foot tapped on the ground in aggravation. She was getting tired of the boys in the class gawking at her. This one guy even whistled at her! Cecil wasn't sure she liked the new her. Was this the way Zane was going to act when he saw her. Maybe it was best for not to have come to school dressed the way she was. If she maybe called her dad and told him to bring a change of clothes he would be more happy to come. When her dad saw her that morning she thought he was going to have a heart attack. He looked really sad. Cecil could already guess what he was thinking. He lost his little girl to the girly society. But that wasn't true. Cecil reassured him that when she got home they would play a good game of football in the backyard. At that moment you could automatically see the relief in her fathers eye. It made Cecil smile. But did make think. If she continued the girly path, did she have to give up sports and all the things she used to like. Cecil needed to put more thought into her changing plan.

A very familiar voice was heard from behind her back. Cecil bit her lip and closed her eye tight before having the guts to turn around. Cecil slowly turned and smiled at him. It was Zane. They guy she's been waiting all morning to see. The guy she was doing this all for. Hey there. She said waving her hand once at him. Hey there! You've been waiting all morning to see him and that all you could say or do? Ugh! Cecil argued with herself, but her thoughts were right. When they usually hung out they did this weird handshake thing with each other. But Cecil didn't know what to do. Did the girly girls do hand shakes. Would it be okay if she did. Ugh, the confusion that came with the new outfit and the new way of life she was trying to start.

His stupor was greatly increased when Cecil turned around. Zane now understood what everyone in both the hallways and the classroom were talking about, and staring at. The figure in front of him was amazing, completely enchanting, Cecil had become someone completely different.

And then it started to sink in. She was different. Did he dare try their usual greeting? The handshake was fairly simple, but with her appearance...her look screamed 'NOTICE ME' to Zane. And notice her he did. He couldn't help but let his eyes wander up and down her body to take in the change. The look of complete comfort was gone. Her aura of simply not caring had disappeared. And it hadn't even crossed Zane's mind to think of why. At least not yet. For now, compliments were in order. She had, after all, caused for his jumpiness to dwindle down to nothing for the time being, and rightly so.

"Oh...wow aren't you a sight for sore eyes." The word wasn't quite right, but it was all the poor boy could think of. Here in front of him, was his best friend. His closest friend. Turned...chick. Not that he didnt' know she had always been a girl, and always would be, but here, she was dressing it. What if Cecil began to act it too? Would that change their friendship? Did he want that change? Dear god, Zane was beginning to think that he did. He wasn't one for relationships, but this was Cecil, they were already the best of friends, and spent quite a bit of time together already. Would a relationship really mean something different? More over, would he be okay with her being in a relationship with someone else? Oh no, she hadn't met someone had she? She must have! Why else would she do something so...dramatic?

Zane thoughts ran at about a million miles per hour, and had no intention of slowing down. Thankfully, he knew better than to voice his silent questions, that wasn't something that would help Zane, and it definitely wouldn't be fair for Cecil. Whoever she had changed for, she didn't deserve to be told by her best friend that the choice was a wrong one. Definitely not. And so as her best friend, Zane had ever intention to encourage the girl. No matter how crazy his thoughts were going.

"You look mesmerizing-ly gorgeous. I'm speechless..." He said, pausing as if to prove the point, though his smile gave him away. "Come on, let's sit together, we have to tell each other everything about everything that's happened, beginning with this look of yours. Have I mentioned that you look amazing by the way?" It didn't click in his mind that maybe what he was saying would come off as obnoxious. That he would seem overly excited about how she looked, as opposed to the person he hoped she still was underneath the change in outer appearance. Still, he pasted on a smile and let it shine none-the-less. He hadn't a clue how long it had taken Cecil to make sure she looked the way she did, but he ventured a guess that, according to how much time his own mother spent in front of a mirror every day, it had taken the girl longer than he would ever really know.

He cautiously, and gently took her elbow in his hand, guiding her to a desk like a gentleman. He know how to behave, it was just...awkward for him. Her new look caused him to be extra careful. Zane knew it was impossible, for Cecil was definitely tougher than she appeared, especially today, but he did not want to 'break her'. He wasn't used to the fragileness that she seemed to portray. Even if he knew that she was probably able to floor him right then and there. Still grinning his ever so famous smile, he let her sit on her own and took a seat of his own next to her, ignoring the whispers and stares from the rest of the class. Jealous were they? Serves them right. They didn't know Cecil before her change in appearance, nor did they deserve to know her if looks were the only thing that really stood out to them about her.

Cecil felt her heart skip a couple of times. For the first time since they've been friends, Zane was actually complimenting her on her appearance. Not her knew shoes, or new hoodie, but her appearance. Cecil felt her cheeks warm up, they were most definitely red too. Compliments were certainly new to her. Ya, she was getting them as she walked down the halls, but those were wild, inappropriate comments. Zane gave her proper comments that made her warm and fuzzy inside. Yikes! Warm and fuzzy? Cecil has never had those feelings before. She saw them on chick flicks. Which she force herself to watch to get some few pointers. Cecil nearly gagged when watching them. They were so cheesy, but now she couldn't say a thing about them. For she was getting that feeling. Cecil was so into her thoughts she almost for got to say the magic words. Thanks. She said smiling at him.

Cecil was glad they were going to sit down. She was already exhausted and she's only been in school for about 10 minutes. Cecil was fine with leading herself to a seat but Zane gently took her by the elbow. It was rather awkward for her, for she felt kinda like a dog being pulled on a leash. She most certainly wasn't a dog. Cecil had the urge to pull her arm away, but again this was something new. Maybe "girls" let guys do this all the time. Well Cecil also had to admit, she really liked the fact that Zane was touching her. He's touched her before but this time it more gentle. Cecil again couldn't help but blush. Man she was getting dizzy from all the blushing. Cecil quickly took the seat right next to Zane.

It was now time for conversation. Cecil hadn't thought about about speech too much. She really didn't think she needed to change her lingo at all. Ya man, tell me about the things you did in Montana. How sweet was it up there. Ah how her speech really didn't match the beauty. She noticed it, maybe she should change that too. Well this was her first say. She could try to be the perfect "girl" tomorrow. Right now all she cared about was to hear about her best friends trip.

With a heavy sigh she let her arms flop to either side of her, mumbling to herself while she lay back on the tough carpet on the floor of the guitar room. Classes in the music hall didn’t start till the second half of the day- leaving it the perfect place to ditch class if you were- say- a frustrated girl who wanted nothing to do with classes.

Since her contact had told her that objective#1 had yet to show up. It was looking that her big debut was a bust- leaving her less then sympathetic for Viva. Love the girl she did- indeed-doo…buuuut at least she got to show off her hard work.

Just thinking about it earned another growl from Mimi and she tossed and turned on the floor- her tousled hair looking even more mussed while she held a privet pity party. Look at her! One set back and she was fussing like this. TO think, she should be used to him not doing what she hoped by now….damn it all she dug the guy but he was just such a painfully clueless lump. ”Stupid boy.” Of course if he really was stupid she wouldn’t be bother with all this. Zane nodded in acknowledgment to her thanks. All the while thinking of how amazing she looked. As much as he hated that she'd gone through the trouble of changing for...something, he had to say that it was worth it. Or at least he thought so. Cecil looked great. And he couldn't keep his eyes off her. Somehow he'd have to try though, it wasn't right to stare at her like some...object, some prize, no matter how many of the others in the class seemed to do so. Instead, he kept his eyes up, and his smile bright, already beginning to tap his foot and shake his leg. As stunning and shocking as Cecil was, Zane still had his hyper active air about him.

Her comment about Montana was what really set him off however, and so the story time would begin, even though class had already started and talking was going to be rude, and disrespectful. But since when did he care? Wait, would Cecil care? Did she change that much? her voice said no, but her choice of clothing said yes. Oh god this was confusing. And the more he thought about it, the more the poor boy began to realize that he was beginning to see Cecil as more than one of his friends, his buddies. Yes, he knew she was a girl, but now she was, a girl.

'Montana, dude, she's asking about Montana, come on Zane, focus.' The everlasting smile of pearly whites never left his face as he began to talk. "You would have loved it. Well, maybe not the wake up calls, I mean, really, the roosters do do the whole c**k-a-doodle-doo thing. I'm not kidding! But God the view was amazing, everywhere. It didn't matter where you looked, the mountains, the trees, the plains, the fields, even the stinking cows were pretty." The words came out together, swiftly as he spoke breathlessly about his trip and what he'd seen. The excitement of it all came flooding back. The whole horde of it being almost, almost enough to keep his from his previous thoughts, his previous words.

"So tell me, what...inspired you to turn into the pretty girl you are today?" 'Oh no...I really hope that didn't come out wrong. I mean, she's always pretty. Please tell me I didn't just insult her....Oh god I'm an idiot.' Whatever turmoil Zane faced with what words to say and how to express them was seemingly well masked behind his joyous look. And really, he was happy to be back and to be able to talk to someone after several weeks in Montana where no one understood his 'accent' or what he meant by wanting to sleep in past three in the morning. The transitions had been hard and he'd enjoyed his time out there, but he was more than happy for the return to his normal like.

Especially with the introduction of this change in Cecil. It was bright and welcome, but he didn't understand it's purpose. Nor did he understand his sudden fixation with her. It was more than the fact that she was his best friend. Whatever, no whoever she'd dressed this way for, had better be a gentleman. Zane wasn't even sure he was open to letting Cecil date some other guy. It'd never been any kind of problem before, he'd stayed away from girls, and she'd been the same way with guys. She was one of the guys. Or...had been. Oh this was all so confusing. Dare he think that he, Zane, the guy who didn't care for relationships, was falling for someone? His best friend of all people? That'd be the way to do it of course, but....wait. What if Cecil dressed this way for someone else? What if it was one of the others? Immediately after the thought entered his mind, Zane dismissed it. Those in their group were open enough to at least tell each other about those kinds of things. They were comfortable enough to do that. But then again....what about this change in appearance? Something caused Cecil to do it...He just didnt' know what.
