Many wars and plagues have brought the human age forward. As the human population dwindled, the remaining people banded together to survive. In a way, the downfall of us brought us closer together. As the weapons used to fight battles advanced, and the medicines that were required to heal the sick were discovered, we advanced in technology and science too. The future became the present and once unrealistic things like holographic touch screens and hover cars became the norm. However the future came at a cost of course, those wars and plagues tore down many countries and forced the creation of new ones.

After the nuclear war of 2201, a company was founded to create energy saving products and help alleviate the work needed to clean up what was left behind of numerous European countries. This company was founded by Toshihiro Mamushi and named Viper Tech after him. The company thrived for many years until 2257 when the retired founder's heir was killed in an air strike by one of the remaining African countries. Kurou Mamushi, the heir's son was appointed head of the company. Between efforts of Viper Tech and the mysterious leftovers of the American government, Prism, the war was ended and a new wave of peace sat on thin threads.

Viper Tech headquarters was moved to the remaining part of the US and willing citizens from other countries around the world fled the war torn shambles of their homes to the uncontaminated lands. A new government was formed. Over many years this created Centrum, a country found in the middle of a destroyed Earth. Many of the different cultures shed away and blended with cooperation of the people to create a safe haven. Centrum was the first successful utopian society in all of history. Because they trusted the government they made. They one that protected them from the horrors of war.

Over time, Centrum expanded and people forgot what it was like to live in different parts of the world. What it was like before the wars. Races dissolved with scientific advances to make the dicendum, people practically perfect in every way. Humans were changing and so was the earth around them. Because of the toxic admissions from wars, the plants and animals change and adapted. After South America and Mexico were practically wiped from the map in 2159, a new desert formed and made it's way around the southern most and south western side of Centrum. This became known as The Wastelands. One province, Solum, borders the Wastelands, however because of the dangerous exiles, the government built a large wall around the borders. The same wall stretches along the western and northern province borders of Centrum, protecting the dicendum from the flora and fauna of The Rainwoods and Central Tundra.



Centrum, as a whole, is made up of seven different provinces and a capitol, called Urbem. Each province is made of two districts: a business district for jobs, education purposes, apartments for single dicendum, and town halls; and neighborhoods for housing and recreation. Transportation in the forms of maglev trains and shuttles are found throughout Centrum. A meglev runs throughout all the provinces to Urbem as well.

Due to advances, the current population of humans are an advanced species that are considered nearly perfect as a whole. They lack dietary problems, are immune to most illnesses, and have over all enhanced genetics. The average dimensions of a dicendum are: male six feet, one hundred seventy pounds; female five feet eight inches, one hundred twenty five pounds.

Most dicendum have pale skin and virtually no blemishes. They have naturally straight hair that is either a black or blonde in colour. Eyebrows and body hair do not grow where lesser beings would pluck or shave, however dicendum skin, despite it's paleness, is rather resilient to the sun. Eye colour is most commonly blue however green eyes are still found and hazel or light amber brown colouring is very rare. It should be noted that the Science Department of Prism is working on fully perfecting the dicendum by experimenting on children left behind or with parental consent. Every experiment thus far has been a failure and has been kept within the Prism building down in the lab.

When a child is born they are injected with the vaccines required by council law and a Prism tracker chip. At one month they are imprinted with a bar code on their left forearm in an ink mixture that is only visible under special light. This is also the time the child is officially given a first name. Traditionally names are old and passed down. Either of old cities, natural things, or Latin words. Some names are creative and new. At one year, the child has a timer inserted into their right wrist that count downs to the moment they meet their "soul mate", or optimal partner. This is the last time the child will visit the medical clinic unless required due to illness for four years. Generally the first five years of life are spent with parents taking alternating days off to care for their child, teaching them how to walk, talk, function as a dicendum. Throughout the rest of their lives, they will pass through many rites of passage that have become ingrained in dicendum culture.

Centrum is place made to resemble perfection, or at least as close to perfection humanity can achieve. Prism and C.O.R.E work together to keep everything running smoothly. And recently, they think they've come quite close to the next step on their quest for absolute perfection.

This "next step" has come at a cost though. Deep within the Science Department failed experiments live in their own world. Completely oblivious to the world outside the white sterile walls of the living ward. Those with inhuman qualities, timers that have yet to count down, nor ever will. They don't know what's going on on the surface and more than likely never have.

Just as those on the surface know nothing of them.

Except for the high up Viper Tech Science Board members. And the guards that deal with their sector.

Or at least that was what everyone in Prism thought for the longest time. Rumors had been spread about advances, but recently the rumors have spread about how they've been getting to them. Groups of people have been sent to Solum for openly speaking out about the injustices done to unknowing dicendum children. Anyone else who thinks about the experiments have learned to keep their thoughts private.

A small group of "rebels", self-named "outcasts", have started a movement to liberate those who are seen in the eyes of Prism as failures. This group is made of dicendum of all walks of life: C.O.R.E. workers, police, science and medical departments, even a council member is said to be in cahoots. But if you're not trustworthy, not a member of the movement, you would have no idea. They've all learned to keep quiet or be exiled to Exanimis, the wastelands, by Prism.

After months of planning and preparation, the outcasts have finally found the perfect moment to liberate the failed experiments. The night of new Center's inauguration, when all eyes will be focused on their faithful, admirable leader, they plan to strike.

But what will happen to the underground dwellers when they reach the surface? Will their abnormalities hold them too far apart from those around them? Or will they be able to assimilate into dicendum life enough to escape Prism capture?

First thing's first I'm the realist you must follow the ToS. This means keeping everything at a PG-13 level. Along with that you must also abide by these rules. No exceptions. Cybering, auto-hitting/killing, etc. are not permitted. I'm warning you now that if all of these expectations written out here are not met you will not be admitted into the roleplay or will be removed from it. Sorry, that's just the way it is. All new rules will be written in blue.




I'm tagging this roleplay as literate and up. That's meaning I'm expecting at least two very well written paragraphs per-post. That's approximately five-hundred words. Give or take. This is what I'm expecting from all applicants. As well as good grammar and spelling, diverse syntax, and basic typing skills. Posts will be expected every three days or so, though I do get that life comes first and it tends to take a lot of unexpected turns. I just ask for you to keep me updated on absences and such.




Characters should fit into the universe. This is a rather specific target group for now. The main characters, at first, will not be from the wastelands. So I ask that you use models that fit the criteria. Along with that I also ask that you keep your models appropriate for their ages. I will not accept people that are supposed to be twenty-four looking to be in their late thirties. If I ask you to change models or tweak information please do not be offended, it's for the sake of the story I promise.




When creating your posts please include a picture, character name, role (if it applies), some colour, and the information on their location and company. You do not have to go all out, but I do like posts to look nice. If you need help I, and the rest of the crew, create layouts. We'd likely be more than willing to help.

Along with this, I will ask that everyone keeps up to date with the OOC thread. Posting every so often and plotting there will help this roleplay strive.




Since you've likely skipped to this, GO BACK AND READ EVERYTHING. Getting into this rp is a three step process. The first step is to fill out an application in the app thread. If and when accepted you'll have one day to fill out a reservation and post it in the same thread. Both of these codes are very simple. It shouldn't be difficult. After that, you'll have aprx. two days to create a profile thread and fill out the coding in that thread. Links to threads should be put in the app thread as well. When that's accepted, you'll have three days to post in the main thread.

Urbem is the capitol of Centrum. Centrum Hall, the Science and Medical Laboratory, and Prism Tower are all located here. It's also where all of the nobellum, and the Center live. Our characters, through some means have gotten themselves into the capitol. This means they have either been born a nobellum, been invited by a very high ranking nobellum, or have been escorted by a guard. Experiments are being kept in the basement living quarters of the Science and Medical Laboratory and nobellum all have their own homes in Urbem.

*** The following are a few key places in Urbem. These are not all the locations, simply a few to generate ideas.



o1. Centrum Hall. The capitol building for the nation. All national government offices are located here including the Center's office. This is also where council meetings are held.

o2. Prism Tower. Prism Tower houses all of the Prism offices. They also run the wire through this building as well as monitor timers, ID chips, and ports.

o3. Science and Medical Labraotory. Owned by Prism, this is where they research all vaccines, dicendum advancements, and other medical things. They work closely with Viper Tech in certain departments too.

o4. Science Department Living Quarters. Located deep within the basement levels of the Science and Medical Laboratory building. This is where the experiments have lived their whole lives, on this single floor complex. The basement levels also have laboratories specifically for the experiments.

o5. Ascendet. A popular lounge found in Urbem. Known for it's "shady" happenings and desecrate manors of handling their customers. Their staff are known for their simple, flowing black clothes and sleek hair and makeup details.

o6. Maglev Terminals. More or less similar throughout Centrum, their are two in Urbem: the underground maglev network and the National Maglev Depot.

Time is broken up into four quarters, Fons, Aestas, Autumnus, and Hiems. Each quarter has ninety days, broken up into weeks much like the weeks of the second era. However a week lasts six days resulting in fifteen weeks per quarter. So for example, to say it's the fourteenth day in Fons, you would say monday week three, Fons, 14 Fons, or the fourteenth of Fons.

This tumblr was created to explain in depth, the lives, culture, and world of the dicendum. All questions about the world or contributions to the overall story, should be placed in the ask box. It will be answered more frequently than pms on Gaia.

EXPERIMENTS

The experiments each have an odd trait. Something slightly superhuman. Because of Prism's search for the perfect being, they have named each experiment after a single word in an ancient language pertaining to the trait they tried to infuse in that dicendum's DNA.

TIMERS
Each and every dicendum, no matter who they are or if they are an experiment, is implanted with a timer which counts down to the moment they meet their biological soul mate. Timers do not fail. The only known cases of timer "blackouts" were when one's soul mate died before the timer hit zero. In those cases the timer rapidly zeroed out then reset to the next optimal mate if there was one available. If not, the timer remained at zero.
