The Story

Once upon a time… Stop right there. If you are looking for a sappy RP about a prince and a princess, you got another thing coming. Here is the story. Five girls. Five boys. One night. Alcohol and Ex. Big time fun for small town teens, capped of by a little lust. Lots could go wrong but the worse already has, they're pregnant. This would have been okay for couples madly in love...which these folks are not.

Love is the furthest thing from these couples minds. They've hated each of other for as long as anyone can remember. Add to that, theirs is a very small town. In case you don’t know what this means, everyone knows everyone, more or less. Small town like this on an island, opinions mean a lot, and reputations crumble fast. In this single school town, those that stayed have spent decades trying to piece those reputations back together...and none of them made their children in high school.

So how did these sworn enemies become co-parents? The circumstances surrounding that are still a bit murky. No one wants to say a word, and can you blame them? Silence looks like an attractive offer when the alternative is...an almost unbearable fate. For some that might be being forced to live alone, while for others that might mean being ostracized at school, for some that could even mean marriage. Honestly though, how long before the tiny life they've brought into the world starts to make itself known?

What kind of slippery slope has this night set these teens on? And what of the people caught in the cross-hairs? What of the best friend, longing for years, only to find that his first child won't be her own? What of the boyfriend, loving secretly in the shadows of stolen nights together with his guy who's seem so unwilling to come out? How much strain can these relationships handle? How much love does the fickle community have when so many have gone against the norm?

The Rules

1.Assumptions and Romance-First and foremost, this is NOT a Pregnancy roleplay! There are much bigger issues on hand here. There is no need for the roleplay to be pigeon-holed. Pregnancy is a temporal state of being meant to facilitate character development.

PLEASE don't assume that just because parents-to-be don't have no romantic feelings that romance isn't allowed. We STRONGLY ENCOURAGE IT! If it manages to have happen in spite of their situations that would be AMAZING, for character development and drama of course. Also your character aren't limited to heterosexuality or only being with the person they share a fetus with, hell they aren't even required to be gender they were born in! That's me telling this roleplay is GBT friendly. Also don't assume that pregnant equals parenthood, anything could happen. Prison time, drug addiction, homeless, blackmail, prison time, anything.



2.Characters, Posting, and Post Layouts-It is crucial your characters be unique. Just because we have given them titles that lead themselves to stereotyping, doesn't mean that is what we want in this roleplay. The previous version of this roleplay was beautiful example of character uniqueness. This a character-driven story, with cookie-cut characters, it will go nowhere fast. Meaning: Your characters should interesting. This roleplay is no place for a Mary and Gary. Nobody's perfect or not flawed, no matter how hard they try to be. If anything your character should flip their moniker on it's head a bit. I'll give an example. My character Jun-Julie was a Cheerleader, but cheer for her is just a means to what she really wants at the school: a girls track team. She was more of jock than anything.

Posting is another thing with the power to kill a roleplay. As the Mimi in charge, I am committing to a post every three days once the roleplay is full. I expect everyone else to post, once a week at least. If for some reason I can't do this, my roleplayers will always be notified of pending delays on my part. I expect the same respect. Or at least to know when a big focus grabber like a midterm or school project is coming up so that I can take the appropriate story progressing action. When this roleplay was first conceived, wannabrie was our Party Animal, but because she was grounded, her character hopped a bus out of state and stayed involved in the story via text messages. Creative right? That's how I roll, I do everything I can to keep my projects alive and kicking so I can think of a creative work around in the event of a prolonged absence. Just don't go M.I.A. without a word to SOMEONE in the RP, that's all we ask of you.

Now to post size. Keep it at size TEN or ELEVEN. I don't impose a maximum on paragraphs, but considering the issues the characters are dealing with I am believe a ( 3 ) three paragraph minimum is more than fair.

Layouts are fun at least for me. They don't have to be anything fancy, their name, role, and picture will do. You can go as complex as you deem fit but don't put more effort into your layout than your post.

3.The NO-NOs-Follow the Terms of Service! Which means NO CYBERING!. This also means being aware of a couple of one things. KEEP YOUR NEGATIVE -ISIMS OUT OF OUR OOC Your characters can be as sexist, homophobic, racist, and/or otherwise bigoted as you see fit, BUT I WILL NOT TOLERATE SUCH THINGS OUT OF CHARACTER, IT WILL RESULT IN YOUR IMMEDIATE EJECTION FROM THE ROLEPLAY. Also, this next one ties into character uniqueness but in belongs in this section. PLEASE KEEP YOUR DISNICK STARS OUT OF THIS ROLEPLAY. This means if they have a recurring role on any popular Disney or TeenNick show they don't belong here. This also mean I don't want to see Susan Coffee, Zoey Kimball, Brookelle Bones, or Marranda Kerr, etc.

4.Ownership and Expectations-This roleplay was created by wannabrie (my neice), Mimi with a J, and Yumberland/Heartless_Cheesecake (my cousin). As such, I (Mimi with a J), try to run it to the best of my ability. This doesn't mean the roleplay is ours alone. A roleplay is a calibration of writers, as such all of you have a voice here. That is why we have an OOC. We are all different people so I don't expect us to always agree, but I would expect us to settle our disagreements courteously. If we ask you to refrain from a behavior to just stop doing it, it makes everything less tense. Similarly, if you have an grievances with me, tell me (once you've calmed down) and we will sort it out...ideally. I would hope that doing the course of this long term creative endeavor, the ten of us can develop friendship that lead us to working together again on other projects.


5.Profiles, Reservations and Stati-You will find the reserve skeleton in the link in first post. After you send me that I will take a few moments and review it. Once accepted, you will have 72 hours to send me your FINAL profile! I will be here to give you feedback within those three days. If I am not presented with a profile meeting character requirements by that third day at 6pm PST, I will re-open the spot. Also while I am waiting on revisions a characters status is changed to pending. Lastly send the profile titled with your character's name.

Setting

The Town of New Shoreham in Washington County, Rhode Island.

Population: 1,051 and due for a sudden increase in about seven months give or take. It's the very definition of "small town" holding the title of the smallest town in the smallest state in the country. It's actually located off the coast of the Rhode Island mainland, on Block Island. As such, to live in there means being used to temps in the low sixities for most of year, and of course school with same friends you had since training pants. The only school in this tiny town goes from Kindergarten to Twelve, and no there are no other schooling options. (Not unless you mind taking an hours long ferry ride to mainland, and drive for who knows how long to get to the nearest high school. ) Sure the school student body is smaller than that of most charter schools, around one hundred thrity, but for most parents that means a better education. For students well it means....different things to different people.

Theory there are plenty of things to do here, but most of that is catering to tourist, including the housing. Bed and Breakfast are popular small businesses here. And all and all, the town would easily be called picture perfect..Perfect, if you never go into tool sheds of the tiny town's body shops. Anyone can get decent tattoo here, as long as they had the cash. Yes, it's just perfect, if you avoid the unfinished Love Thy Neighbor building sites, if you want to score a hit this the place to go....not that anyone here would ever dream of such a thing. Not in this sleepy town.

The wake up call is long over due.

Around the Town

Homes Sweet Homes

Wealthier section of town, where the business folks have settled down and house are surrounded by spacious yards on either end. Here Justin (The Principal's Son) and Name (The Politician ) are next door neighbors. They live across the the street from Jordan (The Secret Lover). Jordan (The Secret Lover)'s family rents their guest house out to Lilly (The Foreign Exchanged Student)'s host parent. In another part of town, it's nice, but the houses are closer together so yards are few and far between lives Alexei (The Poet), Gwyndolyn (The Cheerleader), and Mikayla (The Femin-Artist) in the same rented multi-family home; Alexei (The Poet)'s and Gwyndolyn (The Cheerleader)'s families live on the second floor, Mikayla (The Femin-Artist)'s lives on the fist floor. A few blocks down from that crowded multifamily home lives Tyler (The Closet Case). After this, greenery is limited and lofts and apartments are intermingled with local business that give this part of town it's thrown together eccentric feel, currently Tyson (The Virgin) lives with his mother in loft above a grocery store, floor blocks away Lapin (The Superstitionist) above an independent bookstore, Vivienne (The Gossip Queen) lives above Nico's bar with her sister, and Blaise (The Egotist) lives a building over about the African General Store his grandparents own.

The Faithful Night

Alice (NPC) threw her now infamous party eleven weeks ago on November 11th, 2012 while Jordan (The Secret Lover) and his family were out of town. Everyone was invited but Mikayla (The Femin-Artist) had more important causes to support.

The Social Lowdown

Blaise (The Performer), Jordan (The Secret Lover), and Mikayla (The Femin-Artist) are also tutors is the student success center, translation everyone's got their number.

Jordan (The Secret Lover) and Tyler (The Closet Case) have been dating for a while, but that's a secret.

Mikayla (The Femin-Artist) is best friends with Alexei (The Poet), she has hated Gwyndolyn (The Cheerleader) since TBD.


Tyson (The Virgin) has been friends with Tyler (The Closet Case) Vivienne (The Gossip Queen) since first grade.

Fetal Age of Baby: Unknown

Tyson was raised by a woman like Lilly, his mother is, er, was rather giving when it came to her body as well. A trait that Tyson has always found that repulsive in people. Even though the ecstasy that gave him is coming child is the same ecstasy which cost him his scholarship, Tyson is willing to do whatever he can to ensure that Lilly is willing to raise their child with him and stay in the States. This means getting them a place to live together, so the young adults can be proper parents. There is but one problem. Tyson, being Deaf, must bring his interpreter Tonya with him, and this whole plan of doesn't set well with her. As the client and professional argue over Lilly's claim of Tyson's paternity, which came on the heels his failed attempt on his own life almost two months ago, Tonya uses a momentary pause to take the opportunity to kiss the boy she used to babysit. Tyson is taken aback but because he has been taught that a real man NEVER hits a woman he is unable to stop this kiss or anything else she does after that until the violation becomes unbearable and he grabs the first thing he can reach and strikes her with it. Tonya is dead, Tyson is sick, and Lilly is expected soon. Luckily for Tyson, close hearing friend Vivienne soon enters, locking the door behind her. Leaving an arriving Lilly very worried and ringing to get in.

9 week old Fetus
There is an old saying, absence makes the heart go fonder, it's anyone's guess as to weather that is true in the case of Tyler and Jordan. After all, their relationship transpired almost exclusively in secret forever. Jordan's always been out, so it was irksome to see his boyfriend Tyler James fake interest in young women so well, true but that was compared to what Tyler confessed two weeks ago. Tyler waited a month and half to tell Jordan that he got drunk and slept with Isobella Myers at the Veteran’s Day party, and TJ can't stand being around Bella. Now, the pair are on a break, nine weeks apart so that Tyler could understand the pain this news caused Jordan. If either knew of Isobella's current state, there might be no hope for the relationship to survive, luckily or not, they don't. Of course, that could be changing any day now....

For as long as poet Alexei and painter Mikayla have been upstairs neighbors, they have been best friends, and for almost as long Mikki has wished they were more. Who knows, maybe they could have been if she had gone to that party? Alexei bedded Amelia there...but Mikki doesn't know that yet, which is a blessing considering the secret she finally shared with Alexei a month ago. The voices, she finally told him that they speak to her. She didn't speak to their intensity, but in her dealing with Alexei, it has been best to take it slow and keep things fun. The pair of them have a bit of coffee date before the first ever auction of Mikki's work for the World Wildlife Federation. As to Mel, Alexei hasn't heard much from her since the night they spent together. She's ducked out of a few of their shared classes suddenly a few times but given her habits, there could be a million other reasons for that.

Fetal Age of Baby

Blaise is an opportunistic prodigy who wants to get into Julliard. Where talent and academics are concerned he is beyond prepared...but as person all he wants is to get into Julliard. He decided six months ago that he should take on the semi-permanent role of teen father. Although he feels the role of father would be easy for him, because let's face it, as a talented actor he can make anyone believe anything, he has no intention of actually having to be tied down to a baby. That's why he choose her, Lapin, who cares more about their compulsion than anything else. She seems completely opposed to modern medicine, how can she carry a baby to term at this age? Enter Blaise writing about his struggles as a young man who owned up to his responsibility as a father as he had everything else in his life, only have that most important thing taken away from him before he even got a chance to truly show his love to it. Or possibly enter Blaise writing about trying to raise a child her loves with a girl he loves in spite of the fact that her rigidity is threatening to destroy the little happiness they could find. Choosing someone so unfit to parent gives him plenty of ways to take this application in a way that will set him apart from all other small town applicants. That's the idea anyways, sure, first he has to know it worked, but he's in no hurry. He'd much rather spend the time with Jordan alone for a change.

Fetal Age of Baby

It has so far been a relatively normal, predictable Saturday for Justin...and anything but for Viv. On the first day of her LEGAL job the newly sixteen year old Vivienne is overcome by bouts of sick during her shift at the coffee shop in the mall. Her supervisor allows her to leave her, doing which time she takes the dreaded test. Before she can read it, Tyson's rather frightening text reaches her phone, and sends her bolting to Tonya's apartment where her best friend said he would be. Shortly after her arrival, the person the text was meant for, Lilly, also arrives.
