Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. The steady rythmic passage of time invaded the room draped in darkness. She felt sick to her stomach...not finding the daylight appealing in the slightest. Her breath rose and fell as she knelt in the center of the floor, candles lit brightly against the gloom, bright enough for vision to be possible, yet dim enough so that the glare would not hurt her eyes. She had been hearing voices the entire day, strange ones to be perfectly honest. She laid her palms flat to the cool flooring of her bedroom, feeling nauseous as she rested there. She had not belonged to this family for too long at all...only a couple of years though she had been upon the earth far longer than she cared to store in memory. It was not so very long ago that she had come across to this home, where she was welcomed despite her heritage and the rumors swirling among the vampiric world. No, Alec and Miranda had taken her in with such kindess and open arms. She had changed her name, been adopted and none had said a thing about her habits and her arrival in the family, only smiled and said their hellos to her and life continued on as it always had she supposed. They had given her a bedroom and welcomed her home, calling her their daughter and treating her as any other part of the family. But perhaps she was not welcomed by all and sometimes she marveled at how the family could function so easily...well they could function perfectly fine when half of them were not starved for blood and the other half were pretending that they did not need in favor of the younger ones. She could hear the complications of the woods that morning and had known that another of her visits might worsen the situation. Besides, she had felt ill that morning and so she continued to feel. But she could not shake the sensations and instead, she had remained upon the floor because it helped the sickness pass quicker...

Tick...Tock...The intervals seemed to come slower now....Her thoughts slowed and ground to a halt as the world when blank around her, the vision she had becoming nothing more than a slate wiped clean, hazy shadows on the horizon. Her hands tightened upon the fabric of her jeans, clutching tightly as she stared blankly ahead, letting time pass by as the vision came with force. It was a day of beauty...something like a summer day in all its glory...but the passage of time was off and there were no detailed clues as to the when of anything. There were two people standing there....silence reigned....and then the vision flitted away as though it had never been, turning to nothing more than smoke and wisps of thought. She gasped onced before she fell silent, her breathing hard, her chest slamming against her ribcage. It was so long since she had fed...since she had rested in a bed rather than catching bits and peices of sleep. So many things had been tense around the family and she felt as though she might lose her mind should she be subjected to much more of her stubborness. She could not find peace in the dark hours of the night or even those in the day for that matter. She leaned back on unsteady legs, rocking back until she got to her feet at long last, balance off already and she had hardly began to walk anywhere. The bed seemed like a feasible option for her to rest for the time being. She shook her head as she sank back onto the bed at long last, her head falling to the down pillow that rested there.

The ticking of the clock was still so loud in her ears. But she had to force herself to be free of the feelings she was experiancing. It did no one any good to have her acting as though she were antisocial and depressed. She should have made an appearance downstairs before the morning was out. But no, she would have rather stayed lounging in bed, building up energy and recovering from the darkness of her own mind, the force of the visions. Each shocked her to her very core to be honest. Sometimes there were some visions that affected her more, related to those that were closest to her. She closed her eyes tightly, screwing her face up into a scrunched expression as she rolled, burying her face in her pillow once more. She could hear the thoughts even from where she had laid in her bed....there was such thoughts of anger and pain running throughout the family that she was a part of now. She couldn't understand the pain of the day when they all held such unburdened hearts. They never could know how they were to die but she knew each and every outcome...knew them and did not know when..but prayed that it would be a long way off in the future...perhaps they would be able to take it easier if they had such kind thoughts to remember....she prayed that they would at least live through the pain of the past months and the hunger. It would be so troublesome and gruesome to die among your starving family as they starved themselves farther to attempt a save of your life. But ah, she was being morbid once more.....since when had she become the gruesome girl who gave no one a smile and remained locked away in her bedroom? Oh yes...when she had been cast from the only home she had ever known up until now.....

Memories were hard...Especially when she thought of the life she had once led....glittering gowns and jewels....exquisite banquests and grand galas of the vampire nobles. It was a beautiful place where she had lived, even if she had been human from her earliest memories. Her father...her dearest father had taken her from the orphanage when she was just a little one...something that could not protect herself and perhaps he intened to drain her dry and use her as nothing more than snack, he did no such thing. He merely signed the papers with a flourish and bundled her inside of his coat, carrying her out to the waiting carriage. He had named her...Ehlena Mariana daughter of Tehm became her title, all that anyone had ever known her by. The elder vampires had frowned upon the inclusion of her...but she was special, her father argued and battled with any who would suggest anything other than treating her as princess in his company and even when he could not be in attendance. He had been so kind to her....no children of his own that he could watch grow before his eyes....only those that he could make and freeze in time...nothing that he regretted but oh, it was nothing like watching for daily changes and marveling at the growth and development of a child that could express such changes.

"Ehlena, daughter mine, you have grown three inches! Astounding! You'll be taller than all the others before long," her father teased, ruffling her long locks of brown hair. She had never noticed the color of his hair, a brilliant blonde that she had found greatly to her liking. "Father...why do you not grow?" the six year old asked, a tilt to her head as she watched him with her grown up eyes as he called them..always searching and probing for answers that she could not get from people simply speaking. He could feel it...the stare as she tried to meld thoughts with him, understand. "You know why daughter mine....I am immortal...as you too will become someday so that we may forever be happy and you will forever have a home." he promised softly, kneeling to her level and pulling her in for a warm hug. She adored her father and he adored her. As the door of the grand foyer pushed open, the little child turned at the sharp gust of wintery air, flakes of cold snow drifting in to be melted away...Her eldest brother, someone so very sweet and immortal, just as her father had made him when he had turned twenty three some time ago...her father longed for a son and had made one before he had ever imagined the idea of adopting. The young man was dressed in traveling attire, chilled to the bone no doubt but down upon his knee he fell as she raced to him, getting lost in the familiar arms of those that kept her the safest.....forever. They would be her family forever, always there to guide and protect her from any that wished her harm. "Brother! You've come home early!!! Did you bring me a gift? " she asked as she pulled away and patted down his coat pockets. His laugh was so very warm as he pushed away her searching hands and almost by magic, he produced a glittering golden locket, strung on a beautiful gold chain. "Look...I've had something written on the inside just in case you ever get scared and miss me and father when we are gone..." he promised, accepting her squeal of joy and hug...

The memory faded slowly as she sat up at long last. There were voices going on around her and she was honeslty curious now. She did not recognize them but she heard the word father tossed around....perhaps it was another of her siblings she had yet to meet. She had expected that she had met them all...but perhaps she needed to greet them. Dressed in a simple gray pull over that hung from her frame, a pair of old jeans, and bare feet, she padded from her room and down the halls, taking her time as she attempted to keep herself upright. She walked quickly now as the voices and thoughts became mixed and she was forced to block out on or the other to understand the situation. There was a thought pattern of a young child...but she smelled no human...only vampires. There was a child that was a vampire....could that even be possible? But she was careful as she traveled down the stairs towards the pair that intrigued her the most...her sibling Rebecca and a man who seemed a little familiar...perhaps she had heard of him from somewhere once upon a time. But she was careful with her powers, watching the scene unfold before her. Her own mind burrowed deep into his own, searching and sifting through thoughts, memories...anything that could help her....She hit so many murders...so much pain, that she yanked back and glanced at the receding figure. She could approach this man...even if he reminded her of the old home....her name had been changed and none would know of her. She had ensured to severe all ties when the time had come....and she could begin anew.

But no, she turned instead to the little girl on Rebecca's lap, the one that could have been Becca's sister...but no, she had caught the thoughts...it was her daughter, preserved in time. The little girl seemed curious about her and approached slowly, eyes watching her and then watching Sevastion fade away. She bolted past Elizabeth, fondly known as Eliza or Lizzie...and she made a dead run towards Sevastion. "No!!! Stay!" she begged, clinging to his leg tightly, obviously demanding that he not move an inch farther. She would not let him go and Eliza watched it all, feeling a sore spot in her chest....she had done the same thing as a child...had begged her brother and her father not to leave her when they did. But the little redhead was nearly in tears as she held onto him, begging that he not leave her alone. She obviously only knew one person in the place....and she was feeling more than isolated. Rebecca made a motion to get her, but Eliza was swifter...and far closer. She reached down and pried the little one from his leg, despite her wailing. "Hush now little one....he will come back...I can hear him thinking how much he will miss you...and you have your mama now..she will care for you. I've been sad like you too before...but I always knew I wouldn't be alone forever..." she cooed, ignoring Sevastion as she calmed the child down...with only a few sniffles here and there. "You can hear all that?" "Mhmm...I can hear it all so I know he's coming back...Aren't you?" she asked as she adressed him for the first time. Catherine seemed appeased for the time being as she was placed to the floor once more and Rebecca thanked Eliza. Catherine trundled back towards Sevastion and tugged his pants. "Did you hear that? She can hear what your thinking! Isn't that really strange? I wanna be able to do it too..." she stated excitedly..Eliza watched in amusement at the little one. She was so very much a sweetheart. But she was not supposed to tell anyone about what she could do...

"There now, she calmed down like an angel." she said with a nod before she turned, feeling her skin prickle almost...She felt like this man was familiar and perhaps she had seen him before somewhere but it was almost as though it were in a human memory...something that faded with time...well certain ones would always remain. "I'm...going out..." she stated softly to Alec, knowing that she needed a breath of fresh air, some time to decompress really. She vanished swiftly, running from the house and out into the cold, a vial of blood in her pocket, now empty as she needed the stregnth. She was breathless and bright eyed as she stopped there at a rather old and twisted tree. It was thrilling...to be able to run so fast and be gone so quickly...She just needed time from thoughts and visions...She leaned back, her head resting there as her eyes turned quickly to the sky above, slipping closed in that moment. But her silence was broken. She could hear the thoughts...not to mention the footsteps of someone approaching her...stealthily almost.....

His lips were pulled back into snarl as his long fangs sunk into her neck, her head pulled backwards harshly as he hungrily sunk his teeth deep into the veins in her neck. She screamed, her blood boiled as she stood frozen in place. He smirked into the bite and just as he was about to taste the blood, he awoke to look at the pillow he had sunk his teeth into. He growled and throws the pillow against the wall, getting up and hitting the wall. He didn't even flinch as his hand broke through the plaster; he said nothing as his hand disappeared into the wall. He also knew he was making a lot of noise, but it didn't matter. The hunger was painful and he couldn't take it anymore. He grabbed some clothes and threw them on, walking down the stairs he walked into the kitchen and got out a blood packet. His teeth sunk into it as he pierced the plastic, it was this he tasted first. He growled into the cold blood, closing his eyes tightly, trying to imagine her being real. The female in his dream, he was drinking her blood. He wasn't fooling anyone, least alone himself. He wanted to throw the blood pack, his temper clicking into place as it all dawned on him. He hated the wolves and everything they stood for. What good was it being a monster if you had to hide in the cupboard?

He took a clip from the side and resealed the packet, knowing it wouldn't last forever but knowing one of the others would finish it off. He looked around the kitchen for a moment; those striking blue eyes seemed cold. There was no life in them, an empty portal to a lost soul. His hands tightened into balls as he felt the burning sensation of the blood taking effect. The want to sink his teeth into someone beautiful was stronger now than ever, you'd think with age it would get easier. Leon could honestly say it never did, your control got better but never the need or the want for blood. Human blood, animal blood was never enough. He licked his lips and cracked his neck. Things seemed quiet today and he didn't like it. He pressed his tongue against his fang as he thought for a moment. He closed those blue orbs to reach out to his family and he found them all near. It would seem he slept for some time; his last fight had taken more than he thought out of him. They had all seemed to have a seemingly interesting day. He couldn't say he was overly bothered, they were family sure. But he was no one’s babysitter, he walked into the front room.

There was a few people gathered here, he couldn't say he wanted to hang around and find out who the male before him was. Then he looked up and his eyes looked into Sev's, those blue eyes narrowed and he seemed to be deciding how to handle his appearance. It wasn't good, if Sev was back s**t was about to hit the fan. Before he could say a word however Rebecca's daughter seemed to step out of nowhere and Leon's fingers began to dig into his palm. Sev was using the only tool he had against them; he knew Rebecca would become blind to everything. "You shouldn't have taken her in the first place, returning her back to us does not get you in good books Sev." He said and stepped out of the shadows. He had grown a hell of a lot since their last encounter; he was no longer skin and bones. Muscles had developed and he had become stronger, more cold and calculating. Those blue eyes were still his best feature however; as he stared at the male before him they didn't flicker from him as someone else spoke to him. The veins in his neck with tight, he was ready for a fight if needed. "She was never yours to protect." He said. There was nothing polite about the stand down, Leon had every confidence if push came to shove he was at the very least evenly matched. He could sense others close too, but he'd worry about them after. "I'm not even going to try and understand why you are acting like he just s**t out gold Rebecca. He took your child away from you, he broke you and here you are thanking him. I think it is best you do leave." He said to Sev and then looked towards his 'mother.' "You should have pulled him through the door uninvited and filmed him whilst he burned." He spat and narrowed those eyes of his.

His eyes didn't stay off Sev for long, the male couldn't be trusted. He wasn't someone Leon wanted in his home, he'd start a blood battle if needed. He heard the younger girl speak now, he couldn't get over how old she had gotten. Those swimming pools of blue darkened as he took in what the younger vampire said. "You are the reason my family is being hunted like rats. It was you." He spat at the other and turned to his mother once more. "Whilst we live off blood packs him and his bitches are off latching on to humans." He growled and stepped forward. He had no idea if the people with him where females or not. The phrase 'bitches' seemed fitting to both. "You are an idiot, the moment they find out it was a vampire and you at the very least. The treaty is off and its free game. They will hunt you down and kill you and then us." He moved forward now, quickly and swiftly he slammed his hands into the wall next to Sev. His temper had never been his strong point, even when he thin and looked pathetic. 'Nothing like a pouncing tiger.' It was something his real dad had said to him growing up. The other seemed to want to leave, he couldn't decide if it was his actions or other things. He seemed distracted; Leon moved and opened the door. "Business elsewhere?" He didn't seem like he required an answer. Leon seemed to almost be able to read him. I'll be listening to the wind." It was an old saying; it meant listening to the gossip or tales. He said and let him pass, he did not want the other be in the house any longer.

" A Fall From Grace Has Saved A Soul "

User Image
xNo one could be just happy for her...not a soul around. Venus was angry...that much was obvious but she couldn't have cared less. Rebecca had Catherine home in her arms and that was all that mattered to her...all that would ever matter. It didn't matter who had brought the girl home either. It could have been some random vampire..but it was Sevastion and she thanked him like any normal person. She had been sick when her daughter had been changed, laying in bed beside her dying from the sickness as well more than likely. Sure, she was pissed as hell that Sevastion had dared to take her daughter from her so long ago, but it was only time that had passed and they had an eternity to make up for the missed years. She could keep Catherine with her and the little girl made it very obvious that she was planning on staying for the rest of her unending life and Rebecca was just fine with that. She could be the mother that she had always wished to be....she could keep her daughter with her and teach her..love over her like only a mother could. It worried her, thinking of what kind of people Sev had had her around during her life. She could have picked up several nasty habits and she prayed that the little girl hadn't been corrupted by Sevastion and all those that he associated with to be perfectly honest. She sighed softly, smoothing her daughter's hair back, kissing her forehead and cheek. She was in content there, nothing in the world mattered as time seemed to stop and the pair of them were anchored there in the snowy yard, locked in an embrace to cover the centuries.

x She would have snapped at the hands the grabbed her. Except that it was none other than her own father. She could have shoved him away and told him to leave her be...cut the crap and stop ruining the moment brought on. She snapped a bit as she reached down and gathered her daughter into her arms, not intending to leave her there between Alec and Sevastion if things turned bad between them. She smirked as she looked down at the redheaded girl that mirrored her own face so easily. The little one was grinning back with that same smile that her father had had when he was young and so very thrilled about life...but what did an immortal child know about life when she was frozen at an age where she could not live the years given to her? She felt a bit horrible for the fact that her daughter had been changed, but she was pleased to have her with her, loving each and every passing second, holding to her tighter than before, ready for anything that might happen, anyone that dared to take her daughter from her arms..They would have nothing but nubs for hands if they attempted anything of the sort. She shook her head at the behavior going on between her 'father' and Sevastion. Neither of them planned on backing down anytime soon to be perfeclty honest and she didn't plan on sticking around to hear them complaining. She turned around into the direction of home and made her way up the steps and into the grand home that would become even grander now that a ray of sunshine in her world had appeared. She had so much to speak of. But her father was there at her arm, taking her back to the house as Sevastion followed along behind them, obviously confused as to what was going on.

She smiled at her daughter, listening intently as she described a rather adorable encounter with a small meal of a rabbit this morning and she had to approve of the way that she seemed to at least respect the life that she stole away to fuel her own. She ate with dainty manners, a little lady to the end she hoped and she prayed that she had never tasted human blood...that she would be content with animals that strayed too close to the home now and then. But she would hunt with her daughter and dare the wolves to come after them. She could rip them limb from limb to protect what belonged to her. Sevastion could understand that theory of ripping apart threats...he did it all the time. But she was a bit unnerved as Catherine described the attack Sevastion had committed on some unfortunate girl..who obviously had been less than excited and had payed the price for Sev's hunger. She shook her head and swallowed nervously. She didn't want Catherine seeing such things and she wanted to curse Sevastion for allowing her daughter to be caught in the crossfire of his feeding and his revenge of some sort. The little girl was young still and Rebecca wanted her to behave and be unlearned in the ways of the murderous vampiric nature.

x Rebecca hoisted her up and carted her off into the back parlor, enjoying the peace and quiet as the little girl pulled her shoes off and let them dry on the floor, her socks and coat following suit as she draped her coat nicely on the coat rack by the door. She did have manners....she had been raised to have them by Sevastion and the others...even if she did not like them sometimes. Rebecca was marveling over the pretty manners and before long, Catherine was curled up on the sofa, a book of pictures pulled towards her, things that Rebecca had done for her when she had thought that Catherine was lost to her and the world for that matter. She seemed to enjoy the pretty drawings and the scrapbook created to pass the time along through Rebecca's life. She wanted Catherine to see everything and know how much she had missed her while things had settled in. She was deep in thought as she stood there in front of her daughter when Sevastions' arms wrapped around her waist and pulled her close. His words registered for a moment and then she wanted to smack him. There had been a time when she would have believed that he could do things out of the pure goodness of his heart...back when she had been human and he had been jealous of the human that courted her. "I know you love her...she's always loved you and you've always loved her...even when she was human." she said softly, smiling a bit, remembering fonder times. When they had been alone in the cottage that Rebecca owned......Catherine had been her happiest there.

x She wouldn't truly forgive Sev for taking Rebecca but she could thank him for taking good care of her at least. She hadn't come to ruin and she was still in one peice and still the sweetheart that she had always remembered in their time together. She watched in curiosity as the little girl was hoisted up onto Sev's hip with a grin to her small face, as if this was normal as could be. Sevastion must have been kinder than she had imagined he would have been...more than likely when the pair of them were alone and had the moment to spend with one another. She couldn't help but to chuckle as the little girl laughed and squealed, reaching out to her as Sevastion set to tickling the little girl. She rescued the redhead and cradled her happily with a grin to her face. She loved the way Sev could make the girl smile and laugh and have such sweet times with someone such as Sevastion. She smirked and shook her head as she placed the little girl down on the floor once more, letting her enjoy the place that would now become her home and comfort. She sighed as she looked at Sevastion, hoping that she could read him in that moment. "Sevastion...you don't have to leave her here all alone. She loves you and you love her....know that you can come and see her and me and everyone. I know your mother misses you....but you know, it's nice to see that you care about her...she's been needing someone for her.." she said softly as she looked at Sevastion, hand on his arm to pause him for a moment. With a kiss to her cheek however and the promise that he would bring her things back, he was gone off. She sighed and shook her head, sitting down once more. Obviously Catherine had just noticed what was coming and that Sevastion was leaving her behind...even if she did have her mother, she wanted her Sevastion too.

x Eliza came to break it off at long last however..She just appeared out of nowhere and scooped Catherine from Sevastions' leg, promising her that things would be alright and placating the little one...who ran quickly back to Rebecca as she smiled at Sevastion as well. She could find some comfort that the little girl would be alright with just her. She sighed and smiled as she petted the little girl atop her head, smiling brightly. She drew Catherine close however as her younger brother came up with an issue obviously with Catherine and Sevastion. He was rude to Sev....obviously wanting him gone and then blaming Catherine for what was wrong. She growled under her breath and placed Catherine back into the room before she stalked over to her younger brother Leon. "Why don't you chill the hell out? I'm not going to deal with you saying something about my daughter. So shut up Leon. Go sit in the snow or something..." she hissed, not wanting her daughter to see her behave this way.
