In New York lives the powerful socialites and those who rule over it's concrete jungle. Of course, many may not know who exactly these famous people are. Although, the question should be what are they? Vampires. Underneath the bustling city is a thriving Vampire Society that has New York in it's grip. Not the sparkling vampires though. These are the traditional vampires, limited time in the sun, retractable fangs, and an uncontrollable desire for human blood. Luckily, they hold the most power in the city, and not only are stunningly beautiful, quick and strong but very secretive about their existence, considering the society has been thriving for over 300 years. Their sons and daughters reign too, keeping an iron grip on the youth of New York City, non-human and human. However, New York isn't the only place where vampires feed on humans. In Italy, word has gotten out about the possible existence of vampires being linked to a recent string of killings in Rome. Outraged, Italians sought out whoever they thought to be vampires. In order to protect their lives and families, most of the vampire families fled Rome to New York, where their fellow vampire elders welcome them with open arms.

However now that the Italians have made their home in New York the struggle for control of the city has begun to shift. These new Italians are intriguing and alluring, and seem to transfix New Yorkers. Of course the last thing the Italian vampires want to do is take their fellow vampire's power - right? While the Elders may be getting along for now, the young socialites of New York aren't too thrilled about their new neighbors. Especially after no one seems to be interested in them anymore. The Italians aren't about to back down for some American Vampires. Is the Big Apple big enough for both vampire societies?

In order to join this must you must be able to type at least 3 well written paragraphs. Meaning it has good punctuation, spelling and complex sentences. You should be able to use correct forms of you, you're, their they're, there...etc. Type it in Microsoft Word if it helps. As for posting, post in font size 10 or 11, bold and color speaking, list your text and make your post pretty in general. No eye blinding colors or over the top graphics. Follow the Gaia TOS. If you're going to do it, skip it. Keeping swearing to a minimum unless it's called for. Post at least once or twice a week, we're not asking for much. We want to keep this alive, so if you can't commit the time don't join, simple as that. Also, listen to Laur and Nonny, the rulers of the roleplay. What we say is law and if we decline your application don't question it. We have the right to ask you to change your character. On the subject of your character, please use models. No well known celebrities, or Disney Stars. If you need help finding a model message Nonny (nonsense of some sort) or -Monstrosityy. Please choose models that are good looking, they are vampires so of course they have good looks. If you can, please try to make siblings look relatively the same. Characters will look around 20-23 years old. Please make your characters rounded and have good and bad traits. Make sure you stick to their personality. If someone already has a character similar to yours, change it. It can be fun playing the a*****e sometimes. As for the background check, you'll post background checks in the OOC. Please note; if you have not been accepted only post what is needed in it, don't chat if you have not been accepted. If you're accepted send the reserve to - Monstrosityy. You'll have 24 hours for that reserve, no more. Profiles don't currently have a deadline, you can post them whenever you want in the profile thread, as long as they are completed, minus the relationships. Plot in the OOC with your fellow roleplayer about relationships, this roleplay will be starting about two weeks after the arrival of the Italians, so your character will know most of the characters. Any rules that will be added will be bolded, so check back often.

The Acevedo's father is the head of his own large and growing business; he’s basically a younger, more attractive Donald Trump. Not only is he well respected in the business world, but he’s also one of the Head Elders that keep the underground vampire society in check. He’s a very well respected man and can be quite intimidating when he wants to get what he wants. His wife is a famous designer who designs dresses for the most famous celebrities. Not only do they have reign over New York with an iron fist but they also rule over almost all the vampire families in the world…for now. They have two children, a boy and a girl.

Mr. Vaughn is the epitome of the word "dork." He's incredibly smart and knows more facts than a computer at times. Don't take the man for granted though, this vampire invented Twitter. While he was rich before, the man is swimming in his wealth now and is easily one of the richest families in the world. Unlike a lot of older vampires, this man isn't nearly as cutthroat as his colleagues, and instead is one of the nicest vampires you'll ever meet...as long as he isn't thirsty. His wife stays at home to help look after the children and work on her "tan". They have three children, two boys and a girl

The father is the head of the organized crime ring in new york, been so for most of his life. He knows every dark corner in New York, and he's definitely the last man you want to mess with. Not only does he kill to settle conflicts and take revenge, though, but also to soothe his and his family's thirst for blood. His wife is an FBI agent, but the last thing you can say to her is that she's loyal to her job; she's a rogue agent, helping her husband get away with all sorts of things. The two have an only son.

The father is the headmaster of a well-respected and luxurious private school in New york city. He is strict with the students and teachers in the school he runs. Being the one that decided who gets in and who doesn't get in his spectacular school, he has a lot of power in his hands - parents always want the best for their children, and the best is this private school. His wife is a famous and successful plastic surgeon, giving the family even more power around; so many women these days want the perfect body, and this family's mother is the answer. They have an only daughter.

The father is a part of the Italian government; he's made plenty of important decisions back in Italy and was well-respected, but unfortunately the vampire hunt that began in Italy forced him to leave. Not only that, but he is also the leader of the Italian vampire society, the one that also detected the problem in Italy and demanded all vampires to escape from there. His wife is a highly intelligent successful chemist who's always bringing up new and even life changing discoveries. They have three children, two girls and a boy.

Ah, the mafia. This family is the center of one of the most intimidating organization of crime in Italy. The people in Italy fear them, and it's needless to say they have a lot of power. They use their victims to feed themselves. The two twins of this family, a boy and a girl, breathed the crime from the moment they were born. The father of this family runs the organization - he's cruel and vicious; but not to his family. He's a loving father and husband, actually. The mother is also in the loop, though she never agrees to get too involved. Now that they're not in Italy anymore, it means they have new prey, and new crowd to intimidate; they're not giving up their upper hand.

These two vampires are practically a household name in Italy. The mom is a well known actress, one of the best in Italy and highly sought after. The father is a host one of the most watched shows in Italy. Together the two have taken the media by storm in Italy, and won of the hearts of their fellow Italians with the wife's tear-jerking acting and the husbands charming demeanor. Perhaps they'll do the same in America.

If you want good Italian food, it'd be best to hit up this family. The mother and father work as chefs in their own restaurant that have earned countless five star ratings from some of the hardest critics in the world. Their traditional Italian food is enough to make you come back for more. It was rumored that some guests went missing at the restaurant, but that is a small complaint that cannot compete with the raving reviews on their restaurant.

For the past few months, the younger vampires of NYC have been planning the summer party of the decade. The Acevedos offered their house as the place to host the party and the things rolled from there. They had everything booked and sealed, and all of New York City was to come to the party - humans and vampires as a whole (of course, the humans are more like snacks..). That was until the Italians announced that they are throwing their own summer party, on the very same day that the americans are throwing theirs. The Italians' party will take place in the Ferraros' house, and is by all standards stealing the Americans' spot light. The majority of the guests that were supposed to attend the Americans' party have changed their mind and are planning on attending the Italians' instead. Only two weeks passed since their arrival, and the Italian vampires are already threatening the American vampires' place in New York City.
