Manny looked at his phone waiting for the text to come through. He looked as the message came through then read it thinking on what he was going to do after school or was suppose to do but nothing popped up. He shrugged and then wondered if he had football practice but remembered he didn't. He flipped his phone to the side so he could send a text

David reached the school walking through the main entrance looking at the security gaurds nodding at them. He's been in and out of this school so many times even the new security gaurds know him. He looked around and saw a couple of his friends in some classes and some outside. He continued walking til he saw Hailey, Danny, and Annabelle and walked over to them "how is everyone doing this time of day...it is the afternoon right?. Anyways I dropped by to say I'm throwing another party Friday and wanted to let you guys know to come chill out and if you can bring your own drinks cause my friend is out of town right now...and Annabelle I'm gonna need you assistance. If anything please text me if you have my number I got to go speak to some people". He looked at them and then walked away he wasn't the type to hold a conversation when he was trying to get a word out on a party.

As Annabelle walked up to her and Danny, Hailey watched her. They had been friends for a while. Long enough for Hailey to tell that this wasn't just any hangover. As soon as Anna asked if she could speak with Hailey alone the brunette knew something was up for sure.

"I'll see you later Danny." Hailey said after kissing his cheek lightly. Walking over to Annabelle, Hailey built up her walls of don't-tell-him-yet again. A freshman bumped past her as she was moving towards Annabelle. Sighing she pinched the bridge of her nose in between her eyes slightly before standing next to Annabelle.

"Something wrong Anna-bannana? Oh do you have any headache medicine? I have a killer headache."

Annabelle smiled apologetically at Danny. She was sure the guy wanted to be around his lover but Anna decided her crisis was a bit more important than his love at this moment. Sure that could make her sound self-absorbed. But who wouldn't be right about now?

David, a good friend of Annabelle's and another party-hard comrade, walked up and invited the group to a party on Friday. A smile set on her face and she nodded to him. "Definitely. I'll text you later. I have your digits from Tony." The girl stepped away from the others and waited on Hailey.

As a freshman bumped into her friend, Anna rolled her eyes. "Stupid freshman, always in the way. Eventually they'll handle the flow of the hallways." She nodded, and got the Excedrin from her purse. "What kind of question is that? Of course I do. How would I survive without them?" Annabelle laughed and handed Hailey a couple pills.

Biting her lip, Anna looked to the ground. She was nervous to tell her best friend. Telling someone else made the situation seem all too real. And Anna hadn't come to grips with it yet. So she stayed quiet for a bit longer.

Taking the pills quickly, she smiled slightly at the blonde. Boy did she hate taking pills dry, they always seemed to catch in her throat at the wrong angle. Somehow easing the headache that was once again threatening to split her head in two seemed worth the sticky pills. Once she had managed to get rid of the weird feeling she noticed Anna's nervousness. Oh boy. It was definitely something huge and life changing if she wasn't just blurting it out there.

                                          "Anna?"

Looking around quickly she took Anna's hand and squeezed it gently, "Hey. I know a place with less... ears so to speak. Follow me." With that said Hailey motioned for Anna to follow her, walking down the almost deserted halls until she got to the auditorium. Only drama class used the stage but Hailey already knew there wasn't going to be anyone there today since the drama class was working in a normal classroom today. The door was, as usual, unlocked and Hailey opened it easily. Thankfully the medicine had started working as the headache shrank to what sounded like an echo of her heartbeat in her head.

At this moment, Annabelle was thankful for her friend's attention to detail. The girls had come to know each other pretty well and they knew when something was up. Anna was usually the one to blurt things out because she didn't exactly have a filter. So her not saying anything was definitely a sign of trouble, and Hailey had noticed.

She followed Hailey to the auditorium and walked up to the stage, jumping slightly then plopping down on it. Anna waited for Hailey to join her and then sighed. "How do I start this...?" She muttered to herself. Shaking her head, Anna decided there was no better way than just ripping the bandaid clean off. "I'm pregnant." There. It was out in the open now. Just waiting in the air to be grasped into reality.

It wasn't as bad as Annabelle had thought it was going to be, telling Hailey her news. But still, frightened tears began to slip down the blond's face. Anna slumped forward and braced her elbows on her knees. "How could I let this happen? I can't have a kid. I can't even take care of myself properly." All the crazy moments in just the past couple months ran through her head. Anna lived an amped up life. Partying, drugs, sex. That was her entire life.

Suddenly an images of a baby crying and waking her in the middle of the night and making a mess and all the other things that came with parenthood came rushing through her brain. She wasn't ready for this. Annabelle loved her life as is, a kid would screw it all up.

David looked back and nodded at Annabelle "yeah if anything just drop by my spot". He walked out the building and walked around the school jumping on to the windosil knowing the teachers wouldn't let him in the class during their time. He looked in the room and yelled like a maniac then chuckled "party Friday be there". He jumped down and continued to walk around the school jumping on other windowsil then saw Taylor in once class "hey sunshine party friday come by even if you don't drink or smoke come chill out I know you get bored at home cause I do and I don't come to school". He looked at the teacher and waved hoping that the teachers would try their best to stop the partying from happening by sending cops on the day of the party. He looked around the room then looked back "no peer pressure...I'm lying but no peer pressure on all that under age s**t we ain't suppose to do". He jumped down walked back inside looking at Danny "what's going on buddy I heard you work here".

Starla was quite surprised that she even remembered Hunter's name, and this was only because they were partners in her science class. Star had only agreed to this whole assigned partner thing for the fact that she was so not good in science and it was an easy A. All she had to do was write down the findings as he figured out the complicated work. It was perfect. "Good morning? How good can a morning friggen be" Star mumbled at his response to her. God how could someone be so happy when it was this early? How is that even remotely possible? Ignoring these thoughts going threw her head, Star thought about how to tell him about the news of her being pregnant. They barely knew each other, and now they were going to have to raise a child together. That's even if she decided to keep it. She hadn't quite decided on what she was going to do.

"Huh? Oh um yeah sooo we have a problem.. sort of." Starla said, her words tumbling over eachother as she tried to bring up this difficult news to him. Looking to see if anyone she knew was around, and seeing no one, Starla grabbed Hunter's arm and dragged him into the corner of the library. No one she knew would be in here that was for sure "I'm pregnant" Star blurted out once they were in private behind the bookshelves. Okay so maybe blurting it out wasn't one of her brightest ideas but hey what can you do when you've already broke the news? It was too late to put it subtle that's for sure.

Hailey sat next to her friend on the stage, expecting something like she messed up her pills and instead of taking headache pills she took E or something. What did come out of her mouth though made Hailey's eyes open by a slight degree. Pregnant? Who? How? Instinctively Hailey's hand brushed across her own stomach as Annabelle mentioned it. Even though Hailey knew Anna lived her life to the fullest, that meant doing things not really within her parents tolerance zone. Sex, drugs, partying, and alcohol all were a big part of her friends life.

Brushing the tear that fell down her friends face Hailey tried not to laugh. How ironic was it that they both got pregnant close to the same time. "You have got to be kidding me right? Because if you aren't that's a hell of a coincidence," Hailey joked trying to lift her friends mood. Getting up to kneel Hailey motioned for Anna to touch her lower stomach where the skin was stretched tightly over what felt like a wall of metal. She lifted her shirt slightly.

                                          "That isn't muscle."

Annabelle sighed and shook her head. She wished she could be kidding. Reaching for her bag, Anna pulled out the pregnancy test she had put in a plastic bag. She showed her friend the line and then looked up at her. "Wait a second, coincidence, you're..." Annabelle's eyes widened.

She reached out and touched the brunette's stomach. That was different and tough. Anna gave her a small smile. "If there's a bright side, at least we have each other. And you have Danny. What does he think about it?" There was a tinge of bitter jealousy there since Annabelle didn't know who the father could be. There were so many guys she slept with in the past month. And it could be any of them really.

While she waited on Hailey's answer, Anna pulled her phone out and scrolled through her contact list. Hoping that a name would ring some sort of bell. But of course, it didn't. None of the guys in her phone made a connection in her head. It wasn't exactly like she had all the guys' numbers anyway. Sex was fun and recreational for her. As long as her partner was good, she didn't really care who he was. Yes, that got her a lot of stares in the hallways. A lot of whispers and new nicknames. And every now and again a slap from an angry girlfriend. But that was her life. Usually Anna had no worries, she had her friend's and her pills. However, she forgot to take important pills and could end up having a baby.

Annabelle started to think about if she even wanted to have this kid. There was always other options right? She could get an abortion. Or put the baby up for adoption. It wasn't like Anna could give another human being a good life. She didn't have a job, and once her parents found out, there was no way she would have a home even. But Anna couldn't think of killing a baby. The pressure was getting to her and another headache emerged. She scrambled in her purse for more pills and a bunch spread out onto the stage. [********] Anna muttered as she tried to collect them and put them back in the right bottles.

Everything kept moving away from her and eventually Anna just gave up. She laid her head down in her friend's lap and cried. "I don't want to be a mom Hailey..."

Taylor only caught some things that the teacher was talking about. She wasn't really all that interested in what the teacher was saying. She looked down into her lap when her phone vibrated and she read the message from Manny and smiled. She did want to hang out with him, maybe they could talk some more. She wasn't entirely sure what else there was to talk about, they had nine months to figure things out and what not. She did feel a little bit better that she had finally told him that she was pregnant, and she was glad that he was going with her to the doctor, that was another good thing. She just hated that she had ruined what ever plans that he had for his future, she also hated that she didn't know what the future would bring now. After a few seconds she replied to his message.

                                              To: Manny
                                              From: Taylor
                                              Sure...I would like that. (:

She sighed softly and sat back in her seat, but honestly she didn't want to be in here anymore, so she gathered her things and asked to be excused because she didn't feel well, and she headed out of the room and down the hall. She stopped at her locker and put her books away and then headed down the hall.

She just wasn't really up to listening to the teacher talk the whole class period. She just needed to clear her mind and do some thinking. She headed down the hallway towards the more silent part of the building. No one ever really hung out in the drama part of school. The music room was quite, the auditorium was quite. She had this one spot that she loved to sit at, at the end of the hallway. It was a big window that over looked the back of the school, it had a windowsill that was big enough for her to sit on. She sat down and moved to sit indian style, just barely fit on there sitting like that, but she was comfortable enough. She watched the wind blow through the trees, then looked down to her stomach and placed her hands there. There was a small bump, one that you could feel, but not see yet, but soon.

The brunette smiled sadly at the line that proved her friends pregnancy. So it was true. They really were in this terrible timing together. Shoving a hand through her hair, Hailey sat back down and laid a hand on her stomach. Now that Annabelle knew that she was pregnant there was no real reason to watch her actions in case something she did something that would cause people to guess.

When Annabelle mentioned Danny, Hailey looked down at the floor by her feet. She felt a slight tinge of red flush her cheeks and she cleared her throat slightly. "Yeah... about that. I kinda haven't told him yet." That sickening feeling was back, nausea passing in waves. Guilt and shame washed her nausea away only to faint in front of another wave. "He was in New York for the past two weeks and I didn't want to bother him."

Hailey noticed that Anna was really starting to freak out about this whole pregnant thing as she spilled pills across the stage. Automatically Hailey started gathering the pills that seemed to only run away as Annabelle reached for them. Sitting back as Annabelle gave up she felt the blonde put her head in Hailey's lap. Without thinking she started stroking the blondes hair.

"I'm not quite ready to be a mother either Anna. Plus if you're worried about who the father is there are always parental DNA tests."

All and all, Hunter had found himself in a strangely happy mood, but that was soon to be ruined.

One would have been hard pressed to find a day where the lad wasn't sociable, today was no different. Even when he had been greeted with a some-what less than friendly response that painted something of a confused look across his visage. "Huh? Oh um yeah sooo we have a problem.. sort of." She said before taking Hunter out of the hallways and towards the library. For many long moments within his brain riddled through countless possible iterations of what could be wrong. From missing assignments, to a death in the school, and a number of other radical options that could only be possible in his brain. In the end he had been left with countless more questions than what he had began with. By the time the duo arrived at their destination, the library, Starla would have been given his full and undivided attention.

The unknowns of Hunter's reality would have quickly become known knowns in just a pair of words. ”I'm pregnant” Those words, the two words that few High School students would have loved to hear, and even fewer whom were on the same general path as his own. The only thing he could muster was one, single, breathless word; ”Mine?”

His confusion wouldn't have lasted long between the atmosphere that surrounded the two, that look in her eyes, and the absolute urgency of her actions told the boy volumes more than what either of them could express in this short period of time. ”But I had thought we had...” Hunter started, only to finish within himself, used protection.... Slowly but surely he could see his plans for the future unraveling before him. Any higher education, employment, even his comfortable stability bubble he had built around him was slowly dissolving before his eyes; and it horrified him. It stole his voice. It caused his happy-go-lucky demeanor to sink into one of despair, and fear.

Clearly there had to be some mistake! Hunter's mind swirled around thousands of inane possibilities, from the thought that she was pulling a poor joke, but that laughter that never would come. To that somehow she was mistaken and perhaps she had been lied to or was lying to him right now, yet those eyes of hers didn't waver in the least. Finally, his mind moved to thoughts that had been verbalized only those long seconds ago, the question of paternity. ”Y-y-you're sure?”

The school bell may have rung while they were here, but Hunter had turned a deaf ear to the world. For the moment, all that existed within was Hunter and Starla, here in this moderately lit corner of the library. Back behind the countless reference books that were barely used even during school projects. The internet had more or less caused these tomes to create a layer of dust over top of them one could almost see how faded they'd become with just a swipe of one's finger.

Manny was up and about walking the halls as he was allowed to 'use' the washroom. He looked as his phone vibrated and read the message smiling lightly as she wanted to be around him and meet him after school. He looked at Danny and David and nodded walking past them. He signed his self out of the school and walked out being legal enough to sign out school when he wanted it may not have been good for his record but he really didn't need the days as long as his grades stood where they were he was ok. He walked towards the football field and grabbed the football of the racks looking at the field. He sighed thinking that he may not become a big football player after all.

Manny sat on the benches and pulled out a pack of cigarettes lighting one and slowly smoking it. He usually isn't a big smoker but when he was stress he would smoke but he was rarly stressed. He pushed his hair back and flipped the football in the air dropping it as he remembered he had a text to reply to

♚Annabelle felt relaxed as the brunette ran her hand through her hair. "You should probably tell him the next chance you-" She gasped and paused, thinking. "Did I interrupt that very conversation?" Anna felt kind of bad and sighed.

♚Anna let her feet slide off the stage and let them swing. Hailey brought up parental DNA and Anna laughed a bit. "Yeah, but that requires the father's cooperation. And I cannot see the entire football and basketball team lining up for a DNA test, not to mention half of the band geeks too." Yes, that was an exaggeration, but only slightly. Anna had slept around, there were so many potential guys it could be.

♚She sat up then stood up and began to pace and twirl around the stage. Annabelle remembered back to when she was a little girl. Her mother had got her into ballet classes and Anna had fallen in love with the stage. But that was a long time ago. Still, Anna always dreamed of getting into a dance academy. She didn't have the grades for it, and now with a baby on the way, there went all possible hopes.

♚Annabelle plopped gracefully onto the stage in the center and sighed. "And it's not just that I'm not ready to be a mom Haze, I don't want to be one. Like at all. I never have." She couldn't picture being responsible for another person's life. All the money spent, messes made, headaches without alcoholic relief. The thought hit her hard. "Goddamnit! I can't drink anymore." Anna was furious. "No, ******** that s**t. I am gonna drink." This baby was already causing major problems.
