Dude, if I had my way, there wouldn't even be layouts and pictures. But no one wants to join those anymore because they, I guess, think it's a sign of a "bad roleplayer."

...How about I write a wall 'o' text, you read it, and then write me a wall 'o' text back?

I tried to do one like that with absolutely no coding profiles or anything a few months ago and it did not end well. xD

Oh, bless you. I feel exactly the same way. Not that I'm complaining about this rp, of course! I am still very impressed with all the effort that goes into the graphics and all, but for myself I like to keep things very simple. And if I come across an rp that has minimal formatting, I would definitely pay attention to it. It's definitely not a sign of a bad roleplayer. Though I feel like this norm of gorgeous formatting and photoshop in roleplays is a Gaia thing, most other roleplay forums that I've seen don't go too far beyond a picture.

Oh, I'm all for pretty graphics and stuff, I just think people should quit being assholes about not even looking and/or down voting if you don't put the effort forward. It's the superficialism (that's a word now, suck it spell check, obtw, I make up words) that kills me.

Gaia's the only site I'm on anymore. Everything else I try to join up on is too weirdly put together and I can't navigate it worth a damn. I'm trying to get my own invisionfree board put together, but I'm just so slow about it because I can't be arsed to handle writing up forum rules and junk. xD

Also, I have a pen pals rp that I was very lazy about doing graphics for that I'm currently trying to recruit for. I've had two friends join, I'm gonna be opening it up today.
