Welcome to Gaia! ::

I am thinking about making a guild, but I have no clue what kind of guilds people usually look at first. I don't think I'm ready to make an rp guild, they seem like a lot of work.
It needs to be something you have an interest in. It is best if you have a group of Gaia friends that share that interest.

However, some guilds are set up as a reference and are not very active, others are for a small group of friends, such as a group of RL friends that wanted a place on Gaia to themselves.

I would suggest not creating a guild vastly similar to one or more existing guilds. Consider something that doesn't exist, or doesn't exist well, but that is needed or wanted.

Chelle Says:
People don't really look at guilds unless they specifically already know
what kind they want to join. And it varies from person to person. It depends
on whether you're trying to make a mass-guild with thousands of members,
or if you're only hoping to have a small group of active people.

But as LillianSaire said, it's best if you have a group of friends to get started.
Even if you made a thread first and got regulars before turning into a guild,
having those few people who can help make it active really gives your guild
a boost.

And to a point, most guilds take around the same amount of work. It's just
finding people to post, and then actually getting them to post.
