I haven't done any roleplaying in years because it's just so hard on Gaia. The Barton Town forum is a b***h, even the recruitment subforum runs stupidly fast because of all the OOC chats. I searched for a good RP guild but most are too specific, having to take place in a story universe set by the guild owner, or it's strictly for school or anime roleplays, or it's just for RPs based off a certain series... Really hard to find what I was looking for.

So, I'm looking to start a literate, "general fantasy" RP guild. The way I'm thinking of it now, anything fantasy is welcome. There would be different subforums for different types of fantasy to go, like one for series-based fantasy, one for mythology-based fantasy, one for Medieval fantasy, and more. If a certain type of fantasy RP was particularly popular, like, say, school/academy fantasy, it would get it's own subforum.

But, I've never owned a guild before and I don't know where to start. I don't want this to be a guild that just gets a few inactive members before quickly dying. How would I be able to attract new members, specifically, active ones? Also very important, how would I be able to get them to stay? When hiring guild staff, how much power would they have? I don't want to run every single little thing on my own. When setting rules for an RP guild, what all should I consider? Answers to those questions, or other types of advice, would be great. heart

Try browsing through roleplay guilds until you come up for a free-for-all roleplay guild? (One where the members are free to make their own rps?) I know that there's a least a few guilds like that out there.
It's hard finding people to join your guild, especially when there's a billion other people out there, so you're not guaranteed to find people who are willing to rp with you if you make a guild. If you're adament about making a guild, try finding a group of people (or gathering a group of friends) who are willing to join and stay active.
