In my opinion, the performance most deserving of the Best Actor award is Joaquin Phoenix's performance in The Master. It is, overall, one of the greatest performances of the year. However, due to Phoenix's recent comments concerning the Academy may lower his chances of garnering votes. Most likely, the award will go to Daniel Day-Lewis, who is also deserving.
