Scrapbook for my boyfriend (Supplies tips?)

Okay so I am making a scrapbook for my boyfriend of 15 months to give to him for his birthday. I will be starting college this semester and will be Very busy, so I think it will be something nice for him to have if we have to cut bac on the time we are spending together.

I ws just wondering if you had any ideaas on scrapbooking supplies/decorations that aren't exactly found in the scrapbooking area. Since gas is so outrageous, I am only plannning on going to WalMart, it is the closest big store around without me driving an extra 30miles.

I already figured I woul find a good type of material for a custom cover...

There is a ga station down the road from me where I will steal a french fry box and empty out a package of ketchup to use on one page (we met becuase I kept stealing his french fries at lunch...)

But we are both In bands and play guitar and drums, so on one page I carved the top of a few pink and red guitar picks so that they now look like hearts...And I plan on bending guitar strings into words or heart as well for another page.

He is into cars/mechanics, motocross, skateboarding and his listens to bands liek godsmack, metallica, and disturbed...

Do you have any ideas? on good decorating supplies?

Or even an un traditional type of "scrapbook" to use??

I haven't seen Wal-mart's scrapbooking selection, but for economic ease, go with fun theme papers as your embelishments, stuff you find around the house or printouts of fun graphics will spruce up any bunch of pictures. It takes time but its also cute to make drawings of yourselves saying funny things. Good luck and have fun!

Yeah, I am going to put all kinds of goofy things in it that I for some reason saved. lol. I'm a pack rat. lol. I even still have the left over wrapping paper from his birthday present last year. SO i think I may stick that is there as an accent behind pictures or something. I forget I had that...

I agree with the taking pictures of everything you guys go to. You could even look up pictures of the bands he likes, like the logos for example and include all that. You can buy construction paper/markers and whatnot to do some designs too instead of the normal scrap-booking paper backgrounds.

I'm making a scrapbook for my fiance and I of our years together. When my Fiance proposed I didn't have my camera. I used construction paper to recreate the location, and stickers for the details. It is my favorite page.

I totally recommend basic construction paper. heart

Walmart is a GREAT place to go. They have loads of things you can use, I am actually making my boyfriend a scrapbook right now!

I use mostly pictures and paper, but its really good if you can get your hands on a scrapbooking magazine!

Get a digital camera. Take pictures of you guys going to places you normally go to together... and just many pics in general.. Clip out newspaper articles if some major event happens. It's veery cheap to go buy a "Starter" scrapbooking kit and it comes with quite a few pages and stencils and stuff. Stickers are your friend. you neeeed stickers.

That's soooo sweet. I'm single right now and it sucks. xP
I love the idea with the guitar strings and picks. You said he likes motocross and skateboarding? Hmmm. I'm not sure what you could do. You could cut out the people from Metallica and put them on skateboards. >__<
