Welcome to Gaia! ::

Hi!

I just started crocheting dolls (I have made two larger dolls so far), and a few people have asked me about doing commissions. I haven't really given that a serious thought because I've never done a commission before, and I'm mainly making my crafts for personal enjoyment.

Anyways, my question is... if I were to sell my dolls, what would a reasonable price be? I know it depends on the complexity of the doll and such, but if just by looking at the two below, how much would you pay for them? Also, let's ASSUME that they're customized and "commissioned" for by a buyer, because I plan to be making dolls on request.

Your response would help a lot! I really have no idea what sort of price range to set.

Thank you!

From what I've seen something about that size may average out to around $40-50. That may be on the low range or may be high. It is pretty hard to tell because speed plays such a big part in it.

My best advice would be to make one and time it very well. Most that are just starting out undercharge so making at least minimum wage would be a good thing. Then again once you start picking up speed this no longer works because you would be loosing money for gaining skill. Try and keep that in mind. Shoot for something that you are getting payed decent, others would be willing to charge, and would still be reasonable as a project price rather then a timed price for when you pick up speed.

I think 40 is a good price for those two, due to their size. 3nodding
