It looks absolutely wonderful. Did you use a sewing machine or free hand?

I used a sewing machine. I still need to figure out some ways to fix it up; this fabric is really unstable with unraveling

Wow! Lovely fabric choice!

When you say unstable, do you mean it is fraying alot where it has been cut?

If so, something I have done before when working with satin like material that kept fraying was...

I got some fabric glue. It wasn't that expensive and is only a bit like PVA if you've not used it before.

I squeezed a bit into an old pot, dipped my thumb and fore finger in and used a small amount and ran it along the edge of the fabric. When dried it holds the fraying edge and as it is fabric glue, it can also be washed safely.

If you do this I suggest being very careful and only doing a small area at a time as other parts of the garment will need to be protected from the glue to avoid undesired sticking and gluing. However, like I said it isn't that tricky and is quite effective.

That is beautiful! Lovely fabric. Amazing job. biggrin

VERY pretty! Makes me kind of want to make a cutsy robe in the style ~
I use to be really into kimono's and my mom was going to make one but the only 'asian style' fabrics the store near us had was like... fabric with the plush backing and I didn't want that.

Also, it could be cool to make a 'normal' shirt with some kimono sleeves too!

Awesome job!

It's well done for a costume. It certainly resembles a kimono in a way, even though it's not accurate. If anything it looks more like a fancy yukata. Still, the Obi should never be attached to the robe like that. Obi's must be tied around the robe as a separate piece of the garment, that's the only real issue I have with it. But like I said, as a costume, it's lovely.

I did actually do that before this one to test the pattern :3

It was completely lace, so it was sort of something you'd wear at the beach over your beachwear

Oh! that's a really cool idea!
I just would like a nice robe for after showering when i'm putting on makeup and doing my hair because I hate getting makeup remnants on my clothes and hairspray on them ;;; lol.

wow,
its wonderful.
i'm good at sewing but i can't make this.
compliments for your beautiful work.
nice material did you use for your kimono
i wanna wear it.
(i'm kidding smile )
That fabric's gorgeous. I've worked with raveling brocades before; I feel your pain. If it's like what I've used, it'll be synthetic, and it sounds terrifying, but the edges will melt really nicely. Try it with a scrap first if you're not sure; just run the edge through a candle flame.
I'm totally in love with the fabric you used, but I have to agree with what some others have said: it's not really a kimono. It is still lovely and clearly kimono inspired though! I personally like it when someone takes a type of clothing and instead of sticking to the rules makes the garment more personal. I hope that is what you intended to do, because if so, you succeeded. If you tried to make a traditional kimono, I'm afraid you didn't stick to rules enough...
Anyway, I still like the look of it, and for an amateur I think it looks pretty neat 3nodding
