I've been wanting to bead bracelets for awhile now and so far I've made three. A video I watched showed me how to make a loom out of a cardboard box and though it's a bit scruffy it's been doing the job well enough, I suppose. I notice though that there's a lot of space in the bracelets between each row of beads. I don't know how or why that happens, and sometimes I manage not to do that. Is it a matter of pulling the string taut or what? On the current bracelet I'm working on I have half of it with rows that are touching each other like I want and the other half has spaces, both halves done on different days.
i half wonder if it's just the sloppy construction of my loom, but I'm not sure. I did manage to make that half a bracelet look nice.
Any advice to make better bracelet construction?
To give you an idea, I've just been making very simple bracelets like these:
