Well, I'm an avid beaded jewelry maker, and I just finished my very first BJD doll face-up(commissioned work)



I've also made my first bit of doll jewelry, a necklace sized for the BJD I did the face-up for.

I'm fairly excited to have finished it, the face-up and the necklace. Though admittedly that didn't take too long.

Anywho, what do you think?

How do you get dolls like that? I'm gonna start trying to make my own lolita clothing and I was thinking about buying a doll to make samples for first.Like minature pieces just to see how they look before I make my own.

Well, as a warning, they are expensive. But, I can give you a couple of links.

These are just a few websites. There's also SOOM and Den of Angels. DOA has a market where you can get them a bit fairer priced and you can also try ebay.

The dolls are beautiful and really expensive.I'll try ebay...but what would I look em up as?

Try Ball Jointed Doll, or BJD. You can also try searching by brand name. Obitsu, Dollfie, SOOM, etc.

The eyebrows look a little too thin on the face-up. Maybe define them a bit more?

For my face-ups, I draw the eyebrows with watecolor pencil crayon, then I 'flesh-out' the shape with a small amount of pastel powder on a small paintbrush. It makes them nice and shapely without being too bold 3nodding

Normally that's how I'd prefer them to be, but this was a commissioned work and the client asked for the eyebrows to be like this.

Those dolls are so flawless, and doing the face ups
are usually challenging [i'm guessing].
Alot of people in dA have these dolls, and that's how i heard of them.
i just hope i get one soon ;~;

The face up was challenging, but I enjoyed it. Which reminds me, her mom sent me an image of her all gussied up!
