Welcome to Gaia! ::

Sparkly Bloodsucker

Hey guys!
It's been almost a year since I started making jewellery with resin.
I'm still not all that used to it.
User Image

Does anyone else do the same?
We could share tips!

Also, feel free to share your stores if you have any!
I would love to see them, I love seeing other creations. ;v;
I currently do fairy kei, pastel goth and kawaii themes.

Here are some of the things I'm selling.
Necklaces, rings, brooches and hair clips.~

! Oh hey look! A fellow resin crafter :3

I've been working with resin for over three years <3
I've spent the past two years sculpting and making my own molds for my jewelry though.

Most of my stuff is in the picture link of my sig. But this is some of the new stuff I'm either working on or is still curing-

Lol they look rough because they're not trimmed, sanded and glazed but I'll be busy today on that~

Oh, your stuff is so wonderful!
Even before the glossing and stuff, it looks great. ;v;
And I can't get over your sailor moon necklaces.
They're amazinggg. ;u;

I hope I can become as good as you in the future. x]

How do you make your own molds though?
So far I've just been using basic ones. :<

Oh thank you t-t
Just takes lots of practice!

Ah. Honestly I was always making my own molds. I got into resin because I wanted a pink glow in the dark glittery ring, and there were none.
Theres lots of ways to make your own molds, with varying levels of ease, cost, and shelf life. It just depends on where you are and how dedicated you are to making your own pieces. I started out with the yellow putty that you can find in craft shops, but it's atually pretty cheaply made and is stupid expensive, and it doesn't last or work well with resin. But its a good starting point. The stuff I use now is nice and super professional and clear, but its also $200 a half gallon t-t

Thank you so much.~ I must practice more then! ;v;
I need to sit down and think of designs and stuff.
If I don't, I'll end up doing the same stuff. x'<
I'll definitely look into making my own molds though.
But I'll be looking for a cheaper solution, if I can. xD

Oh! I hope you don't mind me asking but how do you gloss your pieces?
I've been using triple thick gloss glaze but I get problems with cracking and stuff. x'<

Ahh, my mom is nice enough to let me do it on the dining room table.
Although, I've gotten resin on a lot of things since I'm so clumsy. x'<
My stuff isn't as good as Lithium Filth but I'll try my best to help too! ;v;

I would recommend it, it's so satisfying when your pieces come out well.

Good luck! heart
I hear resin cures better in warmer temperatures.
So that's a good idea! xD

Thank youuu. ;//; emotion_bigheart
You can buy resin, it comes in two parts.
One part is resin and the other is hardener.
You have to mix them together equally, otherwise your resin pieces will come out sticky or soft. >A<;
But when you're done mixing, you pour them into molds.
For me, I wait around... 48 hours for it to harden and dry.
I hear the curing times are different for some resins but you have to wait at least 24 hours, I think. ;w;
When they're all dry and stuff, you can just pop them out of the molds. x]
Oh but, yes, it does 'air dry' if that's the correct term. ;w;
You don't have to like, bake it like with clay and stuff. x3

oh! That sounds do-able. I don't know why but I was under the impression there was some secret extremely difficult part. How do you add color? Does it mix in first?
