"Vanya Karamazov" Damn, that's a really good idea! Did you just cut the bags into strips and use them like yarn? I may use that idea to make some amigurumi models. I've been doing this for a few years now, and let me tell you: it's incredibly rewarding. The hardest part is making sure you cut your strips so they're all the same diameter, and getting the guage right. I make 8'-10" teddy bears, and "donate" them to recycling centres, city office buildings and I even took one down to the dump ( I was headed there anyways). You can use up hundreds of plastic bags at a time (I use them to stuff my bears, too). Once a year I walk door to door down my street asking people for their old grocery bags that they don't need. |
