My last name is cumbersome and I wanted to use an easier name for people to remember (and spell correctly), so I took out a trade name license and started The Silver Branch (named after the magical apple branch in celtic mythology the faeries would give to bards to instantly inspire them). With a trade name license, at least in my state, I can access whole sale companies, advertise more efficiently and come up with cool logos and actually put a trade name to my collections. Downside is, I have to claim everything I buy and sell on my income tax.

But it does work. I've found more clients through my business name than I ever did as just a person. And the wholesale access rocks. 3nodding Now if only I could find a wholesaler who sells polymer clay....

So adorable, Plum! 3nodding There's a little toy shop down the street from me - they have monsters that look similar to those (not such a nice selection though) that a local artist makes. I always think they look so cool. I wish I could sew. xd

Honestly, I don't know what its name is. Pretty bad since I've lived here for 11 years. lol Toyland I think. But it's not a chain, it's a little privately owned place. I'll double check when I head out tomorrow morning.

I keep my clay at my studio, so during the weekends, I'm just making faery wing earrings. Rather repetitive, but they look so awesome when someone wears them. This is today's pair. 4laugh

If you think you can make an "elf coat" for $100 or less, I'd be your best friend. xd I really wish I had some sewing know-how. I thought about taking lessons just to learn how to make one of those.
