So, it's been a pretty long time since I harassed members of this forum and I've sewn quite a lot since 2004.

All of the following are original designs/concepts:

The following was worn to Akon 18 a couple years back. The costume is an original design and is technically reversible (though I have no good photos of it). I sewed the entire costume. The cat ears are courtesy of Yaya Han and the wig was a gift given to me by a friend. Parasol was bought at a former convention and obviously shoes and stockings were bought.

This costume was worn at Akon 19 and is loosely based off of DJ SiSen and his crazy outfits. Dreads and costume were made entirely by me. Shoes, cat ears, parasol and stocking were bought.

My friend went as what I can only describe as a cyberpunk pirate. smile

This outfit was worn at Sakuracon 2008. I went as a cyber-lolita Cheshire Cat. My husband (in photo) went as Dr. Edo from Battle Angel Alita. All aspects of the costume were handmade (aside from cat ears, stockings and shoes).

Here is a closeup from a later date in time where I wore the outfit.. so you can see the twinkly face bling:

This is the outfit I wore for Sakura-Con this year. The outer dress is a reconstruction of a Cheongsam dress that was sadly dying and I didn't want to get rid of. The undershirt and skirt were sewn by me and the rest was bought or gifted, minus the hair extensions, which I made. smile

Sorry for the image heavy post, but it's been forever since I have posted. If you want me to change the source code to links instead, just let me know. smile

I do steampunk costuming which is a alternate history genre... like what if jules vernes stories were really, or if Charles Babbage's Difference Engine was accepted??? Airship pirates, Zeppelins battling in the skies... yup...

so here is my first one. Top hat, skirt, and lace bustle were made by me. Corset was bought from The Corset Man, and Shirt was bought The gun is a modded bubble-blowing gun^_^

The second is a walking outfit, i made both skirts, though i forgot to put my petticoat on that time, the vest front was bought, but in the back, i ripped it out an but in a new backing with coattails from the same material as the purple skirt. the lacing was redone by me. the shirt was bought, but I added many a layers of lace on the sleeves and collar. the corset im wearing underneath(different from the on above) was bought. The Top hat I made with the same material as the brown skirt, with a backing..the clipboard I painted!! (I was delivering "airmail" at the san mateo Makers Faire. I'm in a theatrical group that shows you how to write letters with pen and ink, and this was our first day of delivery service!!

Hello and welcome to the Crafts & Textiles cosplay/costume photo sticky. Here you can post images of your prized works or collaborations. We ask that you follow a few simple guidelines when posting here, to keep things nice and happy, and to avoid breaking the brains of your fellow Gaians.

If possible, please follow the format below when posting.
  • Character the costume was designed to look like. (if specific character)
  • Which anime, game, movie, book, etc the character is from. (if any)
  • If the costume is a collaborative work, or you purchased pre-made pieces, please tell us what you actually did yourself. Your work must be a noticable part of the costume! "I fixed a broken seam" or "I glued the ball to the stick" doesn't count! Design work on original costumes is acceptable.
  • What supplies you used (optional)
  • Who the model is, if there is one. You do not need to have photos of somebody wearing the costume, but I'm sure they'd appreciate credit if you posted their photo.
  • The photo!
well i wanted to show u my costume but i dont no how

I didn't cosplay anyone, but here's my Halloween costume...I was a:

Polar Bear :]

ears
tail
head-ish

please ignore my messy room and the bad quality of the pictures (I used my phone's camera)

This was a simply, easy to make outfit...no pattern used, just came up with an idea and it worked

Materials: 1 big white hoodie, a few sheets of white felt, stuffing, a needle and thread, and a lot of patience (since I personally am not too good with a needle and thread)
