This is the first thing I ever made smile

I haven't made the partlet and ruff for this one, I will for my next. I also reversed the colours in my dress due to being poor and onlyhaving what I could get cheap or for free. I plan to do a remalke, and the sleves and forepart (like where the red skirt is in my dress) with a green brocade embrioded with gold and with beads sewn all over, and the sleeves will be slashed and tied, and for that dress I will do a partlet and a different hat. But as far as this dress goes, its finished

My friend did the patterning for me, and made the shoulder puffs and sewed the straight lines for my corset. other than that I made the chemise, farthengale, corset, underskirt, sleeves, hat, dress and belt.

Theres about seven metres of white cotton, half a metre of white brocade, half a metre of this stiff brown stuff that was like a sack only thicker, heaps of willow cane, an metal bar, some bendy plastic used in blinds (three lengths), three metres of the gold and cream brocade, five metres of red material, and of course beads and threads and all sorts. I'm sure I've missed stuff out! lol




Please note there is a wider gap near the bottom, it was hanging funny in that photo. it hangs right most of the time

Little late, but see my pirate costume smile I made the bodice, pants, vest, and sash. the leather hat I bought, and the boots, too. And the various jewelry. Is a pirate costume. No particular character in mind.



Oh, and my shiny white cloak. Why not? I made it, after all. See the white crushed velvet-y goodness.

i altered dress (removed orginal sleaves and several layers of lace) dyed it from cream to the kinda light blue it is now, made the sleaves and the waist bit

Cratchet Family

I completely made Tiny Tim's vests (we had two kids that alternated nights), tacked Belinda's apron to the dress, surged all of the sides of Christmas Present's garments, made Christmas Present's skirt, and many other things on all the garments. I'm going into costume design/construction as my major (just finished first semester of college!) so there will be more soon from our spring shows. I was also just commissioned for a couple of Hufflepuff robes for a Harry Potter club, so those will be up in the next two-three weeks.

My college did a Project Runway competion for our bi-annual dance Glam Slam, the theme was Fairy Tales and the judges included fabulous Jay McCarrol. He was really cool in person. We got 4th out of 12.

It cost us less than $50 to make(yes even the wings) and its made out of cotton(the top) and mostly nylon based fancy fabrics from Jo Anns, we also have some gold ribbon, a quilting square that our metal guy liked, and ceramic tiles.

I sewed the entire thing except for the tiles on the top and the closeres and clasps(the metal guy and model did those parts while I work on other parts of the dress). The wings are HAND BENT metal wire with a welded back. We bought the tights and shoes. I've bery proud ofthis piece, even though we had to sew her into the dress.
