The thing about hooks and stuff is, my aunt used to crochet. Or at least she picked it up for a few weeks or so. But she hasn't done anything since. I think she still has her hooks, though, so I'll ask if I can borrow XD

Thanks :3

Thanks for the advice~
I don't see much books on this sort of thing, though. Most of the books I see are sewing, or woodwork related books. I might end up just going to the videos, though honestly I find it hard to focus on video tutorials D:

Oh wow~ This looks like something I'd want to take up. Thanks for the links too. Really helps someone start up

It's fun, and relatively economical. A skein of yarn can be $2-$3, a hook about the same, and free instructions on the web, or a group near you!

Also, people who don't crochet are totally blown away by anything you make. XD

I suggest Ravelry.com. Once you learn to crochet, you can search for patterns there, filtering by difficulty and looking specifically for free patterns.

Planetjune's website has lots of good videos. Also, check your local library, they might have some books*. Amigurumi World gave me my start.

*yes I'm a librarian and I get to point out books for the non-fiction selectors to buy. BUT fiber arts are super-popular around here.

Ah...I made this for a friend. She wanted a larger huggable version of a small monkey I made for my phone.

OhMyGoodness that is way too cute!! Want!

Anyway. I'm back after a slight haitus. I even managed to teach my girlfriend, Innocent-Angel-of-Music, how to crochet. I'll be making her share whatever she makes. Right now, I am in the process of making two dolls that resemble us. I'm almost finished with her doll, and will be (slowly) starting on mine soon. I will be sharing them with the community as soon as I finish them both. Heh. Sorry if I accidently bump the thread.
