I pay about 99 cents for a package... four big ones, or six smaller sized ones.

I've been collecting free ami patterns, bookmarking them and such. I am in debt to anyone who chooses to share their patterns free online. :3 So I can help point people in the right direction for free patterns, also.

I think Snuffykin's Bookmarks are the most useful amigurumi resource by far, though. I've found so many awesome patterns there.

It's kinda sad... I think I like more of the free patterns I've found online than the ones in the book I bought (Not to say that the book isn't any good, it does have a few good patterns and ideas in it).

What I really want is a couple of Japanese amigurumi books. I love some of the designs in a couple of them (I've been drooling on them over ebay).

I know, me too! I have not bought any books for that exact reason, there is so much good stuff for free online. But I'd like to have some Japanese books if only for the inspiration. Ok, now you've got me heading to eBay! lol

Yay for ebay!
Yes, I've found more patterns online than in books as well, but like you said, the book patterns are just as good. It's just that you have to buy them. sweatdrop

I started an amigurumi along in the Yarn-A-Holics guild if anyone is interested. It starts next week and ends by Christmas.

There are a couple of amigurumi books on amazon that haven't been released yet that actually look alright... but for the time being I'll stick with free patterns... unless I decide to splurge on a Japanese book.

I'm seriously considering buying this book: Japanese Pattern Book Crochet Animal Amigurumi Vol 6

It has the cute robot ami that I'm trying to make.... and cute little kappa creatures... and a godzilla-looking dinosaur thing. They're all too cute!

Or this one...

Japanese Crochet Pattern Book Amigurumi Animal Vol 4

I love the blue penguin. ^__^

I'll go and check out your 'gurumi along now!

I'm going to the bookstore today when my son wakes up from his nap. Woo hoo! Wonder what I'll find... that I can't afford, hahaha.

Wow, those books cost quite a few bucks! sweatdrop
But I agree, the amis on the cover look very cute. 3nodding

Yeah, the price is the main reason why I haven't gotten them already... V__V

I ended up getting a book called "200 Crochet Tips, Techniques & Trade Secrets" but I haven't gotten to look at it because my son is driving me crazy. lol

now questing tickets and tokens!

Thanks x demons tears x for the tips with starting the magic circle. I eventually figured out what the 'sc in 2nd chain from hook' was all about, but the magic loop sure is infinitely better!

I want to splurge on those beautiful amigurumi books from Japan as well, but that would have to wait until I get better at the skill.

If you do intend to purchase the books that you linked, you may want to consider buying from yesasia.com. It's cheaper than ebay auctions, and if you make more than $25 in purchases, you qualify for free worldwide shipping as well.

So far, the site has one of the books you may want, Amigurumi Collection Vol. 4 listed, but not Vol. 6, at least not yet.

Thanks for the site. ^__^ I'll definitely have to check it out if it's cheaper than ebay.

Hello! ^^

Well, I've finished whipping together the s'more. I'm relatively happy with how it turned out. It's not quite as neat as it could have been, but this was my first project that called for squares instead of spirals,

I should have a pic posted either later on today or tomorrow sometime.
