Katarinia ||Isabelle || Corbane----
I don't know if you can hear me where ever you are, but just know I need you now more then ever d a d d y.
ღ_____ I'm starting to wonder what my true {p u r p o s e} is;;
I shouldn't have been the one that lived. I'm not worthy.
She watched him as he straightened his posture after clearing his throat. Those charming lips of his parted, and he spoke to her. He told her that he believed that she'd had too much excitement for her first day of being awake, which while she wanted to disagree, she could see his point. He continued on telling her that he would have to restrict the rest of their activities for the night to her bed, for he didn't want her overwhelming her weakened body and becoming sicker. A slight smile crept onto her lips as he spoke. It was so sweet how he cared for her, even when he didn't have to. He could have simply sent her on her way, now that she was awake. Instead he was telling her to rest, not wanting her to get any worse than she already was. He then informed her that he would bring her up some tea, and then they would find a relaxing way to entertain themselves. She smiled at him, for tea sounded lovely. With a nod of her head, she confirmed that such things were fine with her. The stern tone to his voice showed the sincerity that he cared, though the smirk on his lips showed that he wasn't doing it out of anything but pure worry and concern. She swiped some hair out of her face and watched as he stood, and left. As soon as he was out of the room, Luce came out from underneath the bed. Quickly he slithered his way up one of the bed posts to the bed, where he warmly curled around Kat's body. Kat gave a soft smile, running her gentle hands up and along the long snake's beautiful golden scales. He nuzzled into her face affectionately, and she let out a soft laugh. Giving the snake a small kiss upon the head, she took in a breath. She was very excited to tell Luce about her adventures of the day.
"Oh Luce! Today was a wonderful day. Vince and I went on a walk and--"
She was cut off as the snake let out a gentle hiss, signalling to Kat that he wished for her to listen. She fell silent, the excitement slowly melting from her face. Usually when Luce hushed her, it didn't mean anything good. Her eyes remained on the golden snake, as his black eyes lowered from her own. It seemed as if he was hesitant, reluctant to speak to her. But he knew that he had to, he had to say something to snap her into reality or no one would.
"Kat... I know you enjoy the presssencccee of this young man. But you mussst keep in mind, dear, that he isss ssstill a sssstranger. One day of knowing him provesss nothing. You know very little about him, and you mussst remember that. I know it isss disssapointing to hear it from me, but I only want to keep you sssafe. I alsssso don't want you becoming harmed... You and I both know how easssily you become attached to people, and then it hurtsss you to leave them. It issss a pain that tearsss my heart to bitsss. Sssso pleassse, for your sssake, do not become too attached to thissss boy. We will be leaving ssssooon."
His words echoed within Kat's mind, as her eyes diverted away from him as if she were a child being scolded for wanting to take a wild animal home. She could feel her excitement about the possibility of having a new friend be torn apart with every lispy word that Luce spoke. But despite how much she hated to hear those words from him, she knew that he had a point, that in the long run he was right and he was only looking out for her best interest. She offered a sad smile to Luce, as she gave him a nod to signify that she understood what he was speaking of, and what he meant. With that, a soft sigh escaped Kat's delicate lips. She scooted down into the bed, pulling Luce closer to her as the reality that she would be alone forever started to sink back in. Her eyes lowered, and she thought of her family. She missed them so much. She missed the time that she lived in, she missed her house and her siblings, she missed the warmth that had once filled her soul to the brim. This purpose that her family had been condemned to was more like a curse, an awful plague that she could not shake herself of. No matter how much she wanted to just be free, no matter how much she wanted to just give up and be happy, she knew that she never could. There was no giving up, no pasisng it on to another generation. She was the last. The one remaining Corbane left in existance would have to finish this mission. She took in a breath, and looked at Luce. Her lips parted, and just as she was about to speak, she heard footsteps coming up the stairs. She sat back up in bed, and released Luce, who quickly slithered from Kat, and back under the bed to safety.
Her eyes rose up to Vincent as he returned to her room, holding tea that smelt absolutely wonderful. He handed it to her, informing her that it was chamomile and honey tea, also cautioning her of the heat. She smiled brightly to him, "Thank you. It smells wonderful." she said softly, as she held the fragile tea cup ever so carefully in her hands. He sat down at the end of the bed, and she brought the tea cup to her beautiful lips, taking in a sip just as his eyes fell to her's again. She paused, and they locked eyes for just a moment before Vincent spoke, his curiosity putting Kat on edge again. When he asked her about how she had obtained her injuries, she about choked on her tea, but covered that up by simply holding her breath, and swallowing slowly. She took a second before setting her teacup over on the nightstand, as her eyes rose back up to Vincent.
