A loud thump had him jumping slightly, when it was followed by a curse, he groaned and grabbed his pillow, covering his head. 'I wish she'd use silencing spells' He heard his door creak open and the soft sounds of feet tip toeing towards him. They stopped by his bed and as soon as he heard the intake of breath, he had his wand whipped out and pointed at his attacker. "Rictusempra!" The spell left his wand and hit the person standing beside his bed right in the chest. They fell over onto the bed, laughing uncontrollably. "C-cut it out! S-stop the spell!" He smiled and flicked his wand, stopping the spell. "Should have never gotten you a real wand!" His smile grew and he shifted, giving his sister a hug. "You're just upset that you, an Auror, got bested by an eleven year old." She huffed and he saw her hair turn red. "I'm still in training!" He laughed and watched her hair turn pink. "You keep getting bested by an eleven year old and you'll never be a real Auror." She let out a growl, made more realistic thanks to her changing her vocal cords, and the next thing he knew, she had him pinned and was tickling him.
"Nymphadora, quit tickling your brother so he can get up and ready to go." The tickling stopped and the red hair was back. "Please quit calling me that!" She grumbled. "What kind of mother names their daughter such a horrible name?" He grinned and poked her side. "One who wants their daughter's little brother to pick on her about it." She snorted and her hair turned purple. "Sure, that's the reason she named me Nymphadora, so the little princess could have some fun." He growled, face turning red. "Don't make me hex you!" She laughed and suddenly vanished with a pop, causing him to scowl. "Stupid evil sister." He looked over and saw his mother still standing there, smiling. "...What?" She shook her head and walked over, patting him on the head. "You two are so cute, even when you fight. Now hurry up and get ready." He blushed and grumbled as she left, not understanding how they could be cute at all. He climbed out of bed, the little birds on his pajamas fluttering around as he walked towards his bathroom. A quick shower, clothes, breakfast and they'd be going to platform nine and three quarters.
The platform was crowded, parents hugging their children and owls hooting in cages. The large red steam engine that was the Hogwarts express was sitting beside the platform, smoke coming from it's chimney every few minutes. "I'll go put his trunk on the train!" He turned and looked at his sister, wondering why she seemed so eager to do so. "Probably wants to see that Diggory boy." He turned and blinked at his dad. "Diggory boy?" His dad opened his mouth, ready to speak before a hand hit him upside the head. "Don't pay attention to your father dear, he's just thinking out loud." His brows furrowed and he wondered who this Diggory fellow was, and why his sister wanted to see him. Though honestly, if it was anything like what she kept trying to get him to do with boys his age, forgetting the fact he was eleven, he knew why she wanted to see him. Shaking his head he looked at his parents, his father rubbing his head where he had been hit and his mother looking torn between crying (He didn't know why, but then again, he was male and didn't know how the female mind worked.) and scolding his father some more.
"You certain you have everything?" He nodded at his mother's question and was about to say something when a loud thud followed by cursing echoed around the platform. Groaning and burying his face in his hands, he turned around and looked to see what his sister had tripped on now. Seeing her, sprawled out, having tripped over her on foot apparently, had him laughing. Of course, his laughter didn't last long as his mother's hand cuffed him upside his head. "Quit laughing and help your sister." Grumbling, which caused his mother to cuff him upside the head again, he walked over and helped his sister up, noticing that her hair had turned bright pink because she seemed to have noticed that people were looking in their direction, most of them trying not to laugh. "Someone tripped me, I swear!" He rolled his eyes and stepped back once she was on her feet. "Yet there was no one else near you when you tripped." He walked back over to his parents, ignoring her protests that someone had tripped her. "My little boy, all grown up and going to Hogwarts!" He was pulled into a tight hug and he felt his face heat up, hugging her back as she started crying.
"I'm going to be fine you know. I've already read all kinds of books remember? I'll be fine." Her response to that was just to hug him tighter. "Don't break the little princess mum." He turned his head to glare at his sister, face bright red. "Dora, quit picking on your brother." He sent his dad a grateful smile and breathed a sigh of relief when his mom finally let him go. "I'm so proud of my little baby boy." His cheeks flushed again as his sister snickered. "Mum!" She sniffed and gave him another hug, his sister laughing in the background. "You send us a letter as soon as you can, let us know which house you're in." He nodded, promising her he would. "We already know where the little bookworm is going to end up, there isn't any other option for the princess." He flushed, yet again, turning to glare at his sister. "Dora, what did I say? Besides, he's beaten you quite a few times with a practice wand, shows a certain amount of courage wouldn't you say?"
He blushed under the praise from his dad, grinning ear to ear. "If you need anything, you go to your head of house alright? He nodded and as soon as his mom released him from the hug he proceeded to hug his dad. "If you get homesick, we're just a firecall away alright? I'm sure your head of house won't mind." Another nod and he squeezed his dad a little tighter before letting him go and turning to his sister. "Be sure to keep your eyes out for cute boys!" Rolling his eyes, he gave her a hug and felt her arms wrap around him. "Just not the Diggory boy right? He pulled back and noticed her hair turning a very bright shade of pink, almost as bright as her cheeks. "You little brat!" He grinned and rushed towards the train to escape her wrath, waving to his family. 'Now I just need to find a place to sit and wait for the train to get to Hogwarts.' He walked down the train checking the compartments and searching for an empty one. 'Find an empty one so you don't have to worry about upsetting anyone.' He finally found one at the very back of the train, empty except for the few bits of dust floating in the sun. He smiled and sat down on one of the seats, opening his pocket and checking on his crup before reaching into his robes and pulling out a book, settling in for the long journey to Hogwarts.
